Chief Simpson is a highly accomplished law enforcement veteran with over four decades of experience.  He presently serves as the Testing and Consulting Manager for the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.  

He began his career in Pennsylvania, quickly becoming one of the state's youngest Chiefs of Police.  Following his retirement in 2022, Chief Simpson established Rarefied Leadership Group, LLC, a firm specializing in investigative, consulting, and interim executive services for municipalities and organizations.  Chief Simpson continues to serve as a Lead Instructor for the New Jersey Association of Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Academies in Pennsylvania and as a guest instructor for the International Law Enforcement Academy.

ARD is diversion program for DUI’s after the preliminary hearing. 

If you are facing a first-time DUI charge in Pennsylvania, you may be eligible for a program called Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition or ARD. It will allow you to resolve your PA driving under the influence case without a criminal record.

The District Attorney of each County determines who is allowed into ARD programs.  Most non-violent offenses are allowed into the ARD program.

For some, in jobs that require hands on skilled work––carpenters, plumbers, mechanics, people in retail sales or in cleaning and maintenance work, and all manners of healthcare––employment really has not changed (although perhaps interrupted, and although subject to social distancing and other safety measures.)

But for traditional office jobs, service work, in banking, accounting, tax, etc., remote work / working at home, has been the norm and may continue over the next six months, or permanently.

For office workers, in particularly, there may be new standards for performance and accountability––it may be a lot easier to track productivity via keystrokes on a remote computer, or when employee conferences via Zoom can be easily monitored by the boss...Tune in to hear more....

·       Mediation is confidential and provides the parties with a private way to resolve disputes.

·       Mediation also is without prejudice; no admissions; no testimony about proceedings.

·       Mediation is a collaborative process as opposed to an adversarial process, such as litigation or arbitration.

·       Mediation allows assistance of an acceptable, trusted, impartial third party who works to assist the disputing parties to reach a mutually acceptable settlement of their differences

·       Mediation does not end with someone making the decision for you.

·       It’s not like arbitration––where the arbitrators (usually 1 or 3)––hear the dispute and then tell you how the dispute is resolved.

·       It is not like going to trial where the Judge or jury tells you how the dispute is resolved.

·       In mediation you and your adversary––the person with whom you have the dispute––have to come up with the solution that you both can accept.

·       If no agreement at the end of mediation then you go back to court.
