Callie Metler-Smith doesn't really look like a super woman. She has close cropped brown hair, with a sprinkling of salt, an impish smile, mischief sparkling in her eyes, and an infectious laugh. But visit with her a while and you will discover an indomitable spirit, deep intelligence, quick wit, and a core of grit and toughness, and she gets things done.

Callie publishes two newspapers, owns and operates a bookstore, and is the founder and manager of Clear Fork Publishing, which just released its 150th new book in just six years. All this has taken place in the small west Texas town of Stamford, on the rolling plains between Abilene and Wichita Falls.
