]]> Buzzsprout-14695072 Mon, 18 Mar 2024 00:00:00 -0500 1630 working homeschool mom, homeschooling, homeschool, home education, work and homeschool, work at home mom, wahm full false 12 || How to Homeschool During a Crisis 12 || How to Homeschool During a Crisis I wish I could tell you that your role as a homeschooling mom will protect you from any major hardship, crisis, or tragedy to happen to you, but life happens whether we are homeschooling or not.  I went through an extremely traumatic year last year when my dad had a horrific accident that left him unconscious with most of his ribs broken and a terrible traumatic brain injury.  Navigating spending up to 20 hours at the hospital a week on top of working, homeschooling, and general mom tasks, was exhausting mentally and physically.  Trying to support my mom as we advoacted for basic human rights for my dad in the hospital and navigated a really awful system while we tried to calm my dad and get him the best care left me with little left to give to my family.  I learned so much through this experience that I want to share to help other homechooling moms deal with a crisis.  In today's episode, I'm sharing my best tips for how to delicately make it through as a homeschooling mom when the life you had planned for a season or longer goes up in smokes and you are left in a chaotic situation.  I pray this episode will truly bless you whether you are currently in a very difficult situation or you will go through one in the future.

Because let’s face it, especially with the economy the way it is, groceries costing almost double what they did a few short years ago, house prices and taxes through the roof, gas prices costing an arm and a leg – we all could use extra money! But many parents who desire to homeschool don’t just need “extra” money – they need money to pay the bills! I am SO passionate about this topic because I am one of those moms too! My husband makes a decent living but it’s not enough to comfortably live off of and wouldn’t cover much more than our groceries and mortgage at this point – we definitely need additional income for when life happens, to pay our other bills, and to make a nice life for our growing children.

If this is you or someone you know – I pray this episode can open up your mind to the possibilities! Please share this episode with someone who may want to homeschool but feel they can’t because they need to make money. If you are new, HI!  I’m Sarah!  I’m the mom of 3 girls, currently aged 8, 6, and 3. So, a third grade, kindergartener, and preschooler.  I’ve been homeschooling technically for 3 years, but I ran an in home daycare for 5 years starting when my oldest was a baby, so I’ve always been working and educating my kids from home besides the year 2020 when my oldest did ¾ of a year of public school when she wasn’t distance learning.  I currently run a daycare program before and after schools (on no school days, etc.) in our home and then run my online business in the nooks and crannies of my day, so I’m working about 6 hours each day in addition to other pockets of time I find throughout the week.

I’ve been sharing working mom tips, intentional motherhood, and home education ideas the entire time I’ve been a mom on Youtube and mainly Instagram.  I narrowed my focus more recently to really niche down and give a voice to working homeschool moms because I hear SO many people say they can’t homeschool because they need to work!  I also hear my friends who do work and homeschool cry out to me for help because it can be overwhelming at times!  So, although I don’t have a magic pill to take to make it all work out and every day to be perfectly peaceful, I do have lots of tips, encouragement, systems, routines, and ideas to share with you!

I go live most weeks on Instagram and will be turning those lives into podcast episodes for those of you who don’t like to watch/listen on IG, but I’ll also be putting out exclusive podcast-only episodes every week as well!  I share a ton of behind the scenes and extra tips and ideas on Instagram though, so make sure you follow me there @worklifeglue!
