That is what happened when you and I believed. Through salvation, we have been transferred from the dominion and tyranny of the dark world of evil to citizenship of the Kingdom of Heaven. This is a settled spiritual reality. This verse uses the imagery where a conqueror won a war and physically moved an entire population to a new territory to give them a new life under a new king (e.g. the exile from Israel to Babylon). Prayer is not asking God to change His mind but rather asking for His “jurisdiction” to be manifested. Thus, prayer is not just a mechanism for just asking or begging but a powerful declaration and proclamation by which a persons transferred or to the Kingdom of Light, steward and direct the power and authority for the “will” of that Kingdom to displace the “power of darkness” in their immediate environment. It is this negative report that brings fear and great distress to the people. The people complain, weeping and crying, wishing they had remained and died in slavery in Egypt or that they could die right there in the desert. Note that in the people’s complaint, they are also unhappy with the current leadership (mainly Moses from previous accounts), which is not unusual. Joshua and Caleb take a contrary stand encouraging, Israel to move forward and take the land, for the Lord is with them.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT

As a child of God you are where you are, family, work, church, institution or location on purpose. God has a purpose and work for you wherever He places you because He orders the steps of the righteous (Psalms 37:23). It is important, therefore, to prayerfully desire to and discover your assignment. The question, “why am I here?” is an important one as we seek God from time to time because divine assignments may be apparent but not obvious. Today we focus on the book of Esther to learn about our assignments.

It is called Purim, a celebration which for most of Israel begins at sunset March 2 and ends at nightfall March 3. Purim commemorates the rescue of the children of Israel from impending annihilation by decree of the Medo-Persian King Xerxes during the Babylonian exile. A man name Haman described as “most powerful official in the empire” had made the King issue this decree to kill all Jews occasioned by the fact that Mordecai, a Jewish palace official had, unlike all other officials, refused to bow to this powerful figure in the empire. Haman obtained this decree and, “ Dispatches were sent by swift messengers into all the provinces of the empire, giving the order that all Jews—young and old, including women and children—must be killed, slaughtered, and annihilated on a single day. This was scheduled to happen on March 7 of the next year. The property of the Jews would be given to those who killed them” (Esther 3:13, NLT).

Upon learning about the decree, Mordecai decided to act to save himself and his people by requesting his cousin and adopted daughter, Esther, now queen to act.

“Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. 14 If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” (Esther 4:13, 14, NLT).

Note that in this message Mordecai points out to Esther the dangers of not acting, both to herself and her people. Though she doesn’t mention God here, Mordecai indicates that sovereignly there will be deliverance of God’s people even if she doesn’t act. However, he also notifies her that this could be a moment of destiny, maybe it is for this assignment that she became the queen. We know that in the end Esther acts and rescues the people of God! What lessons do we learn from the story?

        i. There is God’s plan and purpose, the reason you are where you are

ii. There’s time you must act, God, heaven is counting on you—"who knows, may be you were made…for a time such as this?”

iii. God has chosen you, but He can use others—" deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place”

iv. His plans are not about saving helping others but for your good—" Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape”

      v. We see the centrality of prayer in the fulfillment of our assignment—both Esther and Mordecai fasted, Esther asked the people to fast for 3 days.

vi. It is important to seek God to direct your choices of movement and relocation

Lord, help me to discover my assignment and to be faithful to act when I must!

Melphon Mayaka

GOD’S ETERNAL PLAN REVEALED IN EXODUS

How amazing it is to see eternal God's plan slowly come into focus as you read through the Word. Starting back in Genesis and now moving through Exodus, I’m seeing so clearly how the Israelites’ journey out of Egypt is an analogy for the Christian life. Their path to the Promised Land is exactly like our own journey of faith. For the last two days I have stopped at this portion of scripture:

Exodus 19:3-6. Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “Give these instructions to the family of Jacob; announce it to the descendants of Israel: 4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. 6 And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.”

After breaking camp at Rephidim, the children of Israel entered the wilderness of Sinai and made their dwelling at the foot of the mountain. There, Moses ascended the mountain to meet with God. This was not merely a historical moment, but a sacred encounter—one that marked a turning point in the story of God’s people and in His redemptive work among humanity. Soon, God would reveal His holy law through the Ten Commandments, expressing His heart and His will for those He had redeemed. In this moment, we begin to see God’s eternal plan of salvation unfolding. As we read this passage alongside 1 Peter 2:9–10, we are gently reminded that the same God who called Israel to Himself continues to call us today—to belong to Him, to live as His holy people, and to walk in the purpose He has lovingly prepared for us. It is a call:

        i. To obedience, to responds to His call and obey His law

ii. To be His people, a kingdom of priests

iii. To rule the earth with Him because the earth and the fullness belong to Him

iv. To be consecrated, a holy nation to Him and to worship Him eternally

This excerpt from a Bible commentary aptly captures the plan, “God had a reason for rescuing the Israelites from slavery…Israel was to become a kingdom of priests and holy nation where anyone could approach God freely. It didn’t take long, however for the people to corrupt God’s plan…But with the coming of Jesus Christ, God has once again extended His plan to all believers to become holy, a royal priesthood (1 Pete 2:9). The death and resurrection of Christ has allowed each of us to approach God freely”. WOW!

Lord, I thank you for your plan of salvation, I accept and receive it wholly. I have failed you, forgive me and accept me in the beloved. Help me to live for you and worship you eternally.

Melphon Mayaka

POWER 💪🏿 MOMENT 2026

PART 1 JOURNEY TO DESTINY: LESSONS FROM THE RED SEA

I began my Bible reading for the year from Genesis to Revelations. As I do this I am conscious of and sensitive to the leading and ministry of the Holy Spirit, particularly when I’m stopped to pay attention to specific messages within the texts He want to impart in me or through me. Since yesterday I have been meditating on Exodus 14 and have lingered on to focus on a two-part series message on the Journey to Destiny. This message fits well with the overarching theme of growth and productivity as a believer (2 Peter 1:8). By destiny here I mean one’s calling, legacy or God’s predestined design and purpose for an individual (Ephesians 2:10).

Reading: Exodus 14:5-29

God punished Egypt with the plague the death of the first born. Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron ordered Israelites to leave Egypt but then pursued them after they had left. The Egyptians caught up with the Israelites by Red Sea. Caught between the Egyptians and the Red Sea, the people panicked as Pharaoh approached and regretted leaving Egypt were slaves! At the Red Sea the Lord rescues and delivers them from Egyptians by parting the sea. What are the lessons? It is from here we pick the first message in this two-part series.

        i. You will face vicious enemy attacks because of God’s of destiny and God’s call vs 6-9

ii. God will fight your battles vs 13, 14

13 But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14 The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

iii. God will glorify himself through your battles v4

Exodus 14: 4 And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord!” So the Israelites camped there as they were told.

Lord, thank you for your grace and promises. My battles belong to you and I will win all of them in Jesus Name.

Amen!

BE PRODUCTIVE

Late last year—specifically in October—I received a word from the Lord regarding the direction for our church this year. This is the second time I’ve received the word for the year in October. The word for this year is “be productive,” and the main scripture is:

2 Peter 1:8 (NLT)
8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For proper context, one should read the entire passage from verse 1 to verse 11.

So, what does it mean to be productive? Productivity is an overarching command throughout the Bible, from Genesis to the New Testament; it is a kingdom mandate for every believer. Other words associated with this concept include fruitfulness, multiplication, increase, progress, prosperity, abundance, or abundant life.

In the beginning, when God created Adam and Eve, He “blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.’” (1:28, NLT). The earth was unpopulated, untilled, and “empty,” and God wanted Adam and Eve to fill the earth and govern or rule it (have dominion) on His behalf. However, humanity failed and sinned, leading God to destroy the earth through the flood during Noah’s time. Nevertheless, He preserved Noah, a righteous man, along with his family and other creatures. When the floods were over, God recommissioned Noah with the same original plan and purpose: “Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth’” (Genesis 9:1, NLT).

Years later, humanity again got into trouble with God, this time by seeking to achieve and excel without Him—what it means to be secular in absolute terms—by building the Tower of Babel, a monument to worldly ambition and achievement without God. This act displeased God, and He confused human beings by confounding their language (Genesis 11:7). Amid this sinful and godless environment, there were still people who feared God. It was in this context that He found a righteous man willing to follow Him: Abram. God blessed Abram because he obeyed, saying, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. 3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:1-3). Abram, later Abraham, found favor with God and bore a son in his old age, through whom the lineage of generational blessing would be passed on. In Abraham, God introduced a new concept: obeying and following God—a righteousness through faith. Through failures and testing, Abraham was found faithful and was justified through faith.

The promise to Abram would not be fulfilled in his lifetime but would be realized generations later. Once again, God reiterated the productivity promise, indicating how it would ultimately be fulfilled through a nation of God’s people, not just a family. God showed Jacob, later Israel, how the blessing and command to “be fruitful and multiply” would be fulfilled through a Saviour and connector of heaven and earth (Genesis 28:12, John 1:51), to accomplish God’s kingdom will and purpose on earth as it is in heaven. To Jacob, God said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Be fruitful and multiply. You will become a great nation, even many nations. Kings will be among your descendants! 12 And I will give you the land I once gave to Abraham and Isaac. Yes, I will give it to you and your descendants after you.” (Genesis 35:11, 12).

The spiritual nature of the command “be fruitful and multiply,” and therefore the relevance of productivity in the Christian walk, is ultimately explained
