Policy Drivers sent 17,000 letters to Members of Congress to oppose the Administration's threat of a 25% tariff on all imported autos and auto parts pending the outcome of the investigation. But that's not all. On July 19th, the Department of Commerce held a hearing on the investigation. Toyota's 30 team members from 10 U.S. assembly plants came to Washington to take it to the streets at a drive-in rally outside of the Capitol where, together with 100 manufacturing workers from international automakers from across the country, they made a simple point loud and clear: We are Americans making cars in America. Toyota team members led a caravan of "Made in America" vehicles that they built around the nation's capital.
