A Better Way to Do Things

A greater will and consciousness is at hand to help us in our lives.

There’s a better way to think and get things done than using self-will all the time.

There’s a greater will and consciousness within us that can outdo self-will every time.

A Greater Power than Willpower

There is a greater power than willpower; this greater power is the eternal presence at our core.

Discover your greater power — get calm, relaxed and stable. Go for a walk; read a good book. Meditate, pray, sleep more; eat well and exercise.

The Best Use of Will

A gentle use of will is usually the best.

Willpower is an excellent tool when used at the right time and place.

Willpower is basically an emergency response, narrowing our focus and creating instant action. Used this way, willpower can save our lives and preserve the good we have.

Use Willpower Lightly

The gentle use of will can help us tend a task.

Willpower, used lightly, can initiate and maintain good habits, with better thoughts and actions.

The gentle use of will, over time, can get us what we want.

Overuse of Will

Overuse of will can limit our possibilities and diminish our personal competence.

Using our will too much, and too intensely, can take us out of sync with life and put us at odds with the world.

What Can Mindfulness Be?

Mindfulness for immortality brings awareness of our immortal core, our eternal nature.

See Yourself as an Eternal Being

When we start seeing ourselves as eternal beings, when we stop planning to die -- we can live as we are: whole, complete and well.

When we turn instead towards lasting life, we come alive in a special way: alive with love and joy; with stability, strength and calm.

Mindfulness for immortality, again, is the first part of the Secret to Immortality. We have, 1. mindfulness for immortality, 2. Qigong for lasting life and 3. immortality coaching.

Awareness of Your Eternal Core

With the secret to immortality, we add something powerful and profound to the popular understanding of mindfulness.

"Mindfulness for immortality brings awareness of our eternal core."

You may hear a lot about mindfulness: there are mindfulness associations, organizations, university courses and certifications, all in mindfulness. Yet mindfulness is simple: awareness of self in the moment, fully present and calm.

Feeding Our Lives into Death

Bliss will naturally arise in any practice of mindfulness, over time -- but for mindfulness to have its full effect, we have to edit out the unconscious feed we have into death, the buy-in to death as the "natural end" of life.

We have to consciously make the choice to reprogram our mindset to eternal life on earth ... if we are to have an authentic mindful moment, an honest experience of ourselves. Anything less may feel good, bring calm and ground us; but a mindfulness practice that does not acknowledge our eternal nature, falls short.

You Can't Fully Know Yourself

If you're living toward death, as a natural end; you never fully know yourself, achieve your true potential and joy.

We are in heaven now, yet heaven allows us to chart our own course, regardless of outcome. Eventually we learn there is only one life and one consciousness that we all share -- one body, one life and love that belongs to everyone.

Heaven Is Here

In time, we learn to share -- to love, cooperate and grow. We discover all the goodness of life, that's here right now.

We suggest heaven is here, in every moment. But we must discover heaven in ourselves to see it in everyone else, to live in a heavenly world.

Most of us realize we have some control over the world, our lives and bodies.

With the Secret to Immortality, we take this one step farther and realize we create all of reality, as well as our physical selves.

Yet, we can never be who we really are, reaching our full potential, if we accept death as the natural end to life.

Imagine there is no future or past. Imagine that you have no memory, no expectations for the future ... that there is only right now, an eternal moment; the present now where all of who we are exists; where everyone on Earth is present in this eternal moment.

No Suffering, Pain or Death

We live in the immortal now; where there is no suffering, death or confusion beyond what we create for ourselves ... the immortal now, where naturally there is clarity and bliss, pure consciousness and love. Yet, we trip ourselves up with how we react to life, how we go blind and create within this immortal presence. We go to greed and possessiveness; to harm, anger and fear. We prey upon each other; hunting down and killing the lively elements of our ecosystem.

Your Soul, the Source of Life

Everything we do, when we don't understand that our soul is the source of life; when everything we do is to grab something outside of ourselves, that we think we need to survive; we interrupt the process of eternal existence; we kind of strangle it off. Then of course, things die, and the creation isn't so grand.

No Real Name for It

Our source, our souls are the source of all life and consciousness. Our true design is to give of our soul; to live our soul and bliss into the world; as we're connecting with bliss, happiness, every good thought, and every good feeling that really does exist in this immortal consciousness. If you're religious, I would call this God Consciousness. If you're an atheist, it's immortal consciousness. There is no real name for it. It's inherent in all of us. It's our core, our soul, whatever you want to call it; of perfect love, perfect grace.

Live from Your Soul

There's a Lot of Love

So there's a lot of talk here about love. And why is that? Well, the reason is our core immortal self, our soul is characterized primarily by love.

When you start to feel the core of yourself, your soul: this is the immortal you, the timeless self that we live into the world.

The Secret to Immortality

With the secret to immortality, we begin to learn how to act from our core of love. To first calm down, meditate with Qi Gong and start to experience our core of compassion, our core of strength in goodness.

Your Eternal Self

If you don't already experience your eternal self, you are going to experience it more and more in the secret to immortality work ... until, joy, happiness and freedom, an overriding love is what you experience as who you are, as the body that we are, as the brains that you are.

Today we're going to do an exercise called Immortal Body, Immortal Mind. The purpose of the exercise is to activate the eternal life in every cell of our being.
But before we begin, let's talk about how and why this works.

HOW DOES THIS EXERCISE WORK?

With the Secret to Immortality at ImmortalNow.com, we suggest that our bodies, the physical world and this very creation — are made by how we think, speak and act.

We further explain that we live in heaven now. That where we live this moment is heaven on earth, a Garden of Eden where our thoughts and beliefs structure the quality of our lives.

CREATING BY HOW WE BEHAVE AND THINK

An important idea we give you at ImmortalNow.com is that life is not happening to us; but we are happening to life … creating the world by how we behave.

We disable ourselves by thinking we have little power or say in life, when we have all the power to create the conditions and manner in which we live.

HOW WE CREATE DEATH AND SUFFERING

We kill ourselves by accepting death as an inevitable outcome of life, when it’s not; but is something WE create by how we think and act.

This is, essentially, the Secret to Immortality: We create this existence and can change it from hardship and death to consistent benevolence.

LET'S BEGIN THE EXERCISE!

With this understood, let’s begin the exercise, “Immortal Body, Immortal Mind.”
In this exercise, we’re going to move away from the habit of death and the unconscious ways we tell our bodies to die.

We’ll move away from death toward lasting physical life -- which we suggest is the true natural state of human being.

Understanding immortality

With the secret to immortality, we discover how our thoughts words and actions create who we are, and the very world itself, the physics of the universe. Yes, the actual physics.

This idea is not original to me, I suspect it becomes understood by many seekers as they progress upon their paths.

On the scientific front, there are quantum physicists today, who think we are creating reality ourselves by what we're thinking, perceiving and doing.

And here's a quote by two top physicist, quantum physicist John Wheeler and Christopher Fuchs:

There is no ultimate law of physics. All the laws of physics are mutable, changeable, and that mutability itself is a principle of physics. Usually, we think of the universe as a rigid thing that can't be changed as a machine. Instead, methodologically, we should assume just the opposite, that the universe is before us so that we can shape it.

Discover the Secret to Immortality: learn what it is and exactly how to make it work for you!

With the secret to Immortality we understand that our thoughts, words and physical actions create who we are in the world, and the very world itself … the physics of our reality.

Not an Original Idea

This idea is not at all original to me, there are physicists today that suspect we are creating this reality, ourselves, by what we're thinking, speaking and doing, that we are creating an infinite number of realities, or universes, with every decision we make and action we take.

The Here and Now

But the secret to Immortality is not about science at all, it's about taking action in the here and now to express our immortal core as our physical body and world.

Mystics and spiritual masters throughout time have understood and taught this exact same thing.

My Own Backstory

My own background is in metaphysical Christianity, alsoTaoism and Tibetan Buddhism that influenced my teacher and grandmaster from China.

So the Secret to Immortality is not original to me and certainly not new. But the work of it, the methodology and techniques are something I’ve had to do, as a practice and discipline all my life … This is what we teach you in the Secret to Immortality at ImmortalNow.com

Below you’ll find my response to criticism on our Youtube Channel.

I do not think we could change a zealot’s mind, but you never know? Peace and understanding, of our ourselves and others, is a primary goal of the Secret to Immortality.

Why Did I Respond?

An open heart has an open mind.

With respect to the writer, I’ve used this simplistic criticism to delineate our response on the topic.

I have tried to not be critical of the writer personally, but show how a particular mindset can lead us to trouble.

People naturally get angry and attack when they feel trapped, unheard and powerless. Every word of the Secret to Immortality is designed to undo this mindset and replace it with something better.

Condemnation and hate constrict our source of life.

We’re all subject to this type of pain and consequent thought, myself included. Yet, we can become aware of how we’re thinking and change course.

Criticism, condemnation and attack can temporarily make us feel a step up, satisfying our predatory nature. However, this type of behavior takes us away from who we really are and what we can become. Condemnation and hate constrict our source of life.

Hello, I’m John Harrigan with the Secret to Immortality Podcast.

Today we’re going to do a short Qi Gong exercise called Qi Gong Warm Up … for strength, calm and lasting life.

If you do no other Qi Gong exercise, do this one. Try it at any time of day, wherever you are.

Qi Gong Warm up is used before longer Qi Gong exercises to get calm, steady and grounded.

Here we go with Qi Gong Warm Up:

In a seated position, with feet on the ground, close your eyes.

Pretend you can see through your closed eyelids to the tip of your nose.

From the tip of your nose, see a ruby red arc curving out about 3 to 4 inches and then back into your heart.

Hold this visualization, eyes to nose, nose to heart and a ruby red arc.

Eyes to nose, nose to heart in a ruby red heart.

Then let your attention fall down to your feet, and see yourself rooted into the earth about 10 to 12 feet, like the roots of a tree into the ground.

Hold this visualization.

Eyes to nose, nose to heart and a ruby red arc.

Feet to ground.

Hello, this is John Harrigan with the secret to immortality podcast. To review. As I shared in yesterday's podcast episode, I was born with a strong desire to know the secret to life in our full human potential.

At the age of six, I was able to see my past lives about 1,600. In these lifetimes, I had lived about every possible human scenario: rich, poor; educated and not; fortunate and unfortunate.

In every one of these lives, I could see that I had come up short for myself. Distracted by life's demands, I had missed my full potential, I had not fully sought the secret to life, and why we were here.

Hello, this is John Harrigan with the Secret to Immortality Podcast. What's the story of the Secret to Immortality? Where did it come from, and how did it arise?

It came from my childhood, maybe even before I was born.

At a young age, I remember sitting in front of the mirror, age six or seven. And I thought about life.

I thought about my life and what it would be, and what the opportunity might be. And I saw about 1500, maybe 1600 lifetimes before me that I had previously lived, and they were all alive, it was a kind of a timeless space, but all the lifetimes were there.

This place had no beginning or end; it was timeless, what I would call Nirvana, the infinite. I was in this infinite space, yet fully in my body on Earth, and looking, looking at my lifetimes.

The thing that stood out to me, the important thing was, as I looked at the lifetimes, around 1,500 to 1,600 -- every lifetime, I had missed something important: the secret to existence and why we were here, our full human potential.

Monday Startup - Anger, Fear and Love

Practice love to work through layers of anger and fear in your body.

This podcast is based on the blog post, "The Power of Immortal Life."

Anger is fear that depletes and confuses.

How valuable is anger for us, it's really a reaction and emergency response, to keep ourselves safe to get away, or to attack something and not let it injure us.

We're all designed to get angry in certain situations. It's a survival response. And we're all designed to have fear in certain situations. That's a survival response. We need to have maybe a little fear or a little understanding, if we're in a dangerous place, or in a dangerous situation.

Fear is afraid to love.

If we have layers of trauma, hardship; just Layers of Fear that we don't even really feel at this point, that fear is going to inhibit our ability to love, to have compassion and join with another or a group in a relationship.

Let Go and Love

With the Secret to Immortality, we slowly work though our fears and angers held tight, so we can engage with compassion and love at deep levels.

Let's practice love today. Feel love in your body and mind. Give love away.

Hello, this is John Harrigan with your daily startup. Today we're going to look at our core and awaken our immortality.

Imagine if You Can

Imagine the core of you, if you can: a core of happiness, love and bliss.

Inside at the center of you, there's happiness, love, and bliss.

Think of being happy, and see that happiness in every cell of your body. Vision love in all of you, all of your physical being and a bit beyond, into the room.

Have bliss with me today, right now: bliss, happiness and love.

Where Is Your Core?

Where is that core of you located? Where is your core located physically?

Kind of scan your body to locate your core. Maybe you don't sense it or feel it. But if you had to say where it was, your core, invent a place for your core to be. It's probably at the the center of your mass.

My core, I think is a bit below my heart. On a place in my sternum, maybe about four inches inside.

So find your core, decide where your core might be, this isn't right or wrong. It's just you visualizing this core to help this exercise happen.

What Color Is Your Core?

Does your core have a color? Any color is Ok; it is your vision. Does your core have a color? Think for a minute, what color is your core?

My core is golden with a bit of red, kind of like a fire, but it's not a fire at all. It's love blazing sort of, but not blazing hot, just blazing pure, immortal and good. A deep love, an eternal love, an endless love with compassionate color. That's just what's inside me, my soul, my core, whatever you want to call it.

The Starting Place of You

Look at the starting place of you, inside you, your core. Imagine this core is timeless, eternal, all knowing and good. Imagine this core is the wonderful, perfect you, a perfect you that is helping you and living your life.

Never a Perfect World

We're not acting perfect in the world. We're not making no mistakes and never getting frustrated or mad. We're never that type of perfection; that wouldn't work. Progress, not perfection is what we're doing.

We're making progress in a flawed creation, using the flaws to create something better. But I suggest to you there is a perfect golden you inside with love, compassion and bliss.

This YOU is caring for you.

Hello, this is John Harrigan with your Daily Startup. Our topic for today is Progress not Perfection.

Progress, Not Perfection

With the Secret to Immortality, you're making progress every day. Every time you listen to a podcast, read an article on our blog, take the course or do Qi Gong; you are making progress.

Every little thing we do today, right now in this podcast, you and I -- we're all making progress.

Too Easy to Try too Hard

Sometimes it can be too easy, to try too hard.

Everything we do with the Secret to Immortality is done gently, very gently, with a minimum of will, a very minimum of self will.

in Chinese Medicine, you'll hear about yin and yang. Yin is nighttime energy, if you want to call it that. That's not exactly what it is, but Yin means shade, water rustling through a brook, something calm and peaceful energy.

Yang can be middle of the day sunlight, working hard, a charging lion, strong self will. Yang breaks things; Yin can mend.

Gentle, Easy and Calm

So everything we do, every effort we make to progress with the Secret to Immortality is gentle, calm and easy. We never use hard will, strong willpower.

The more easy and relaxed we are, as we go about the practice of the Secret to Immortality ... the more easy and relaxed we are about finding our immortal core, about experiencing our eternal self and expressing it ... the more easily we go, the better we progress.

The more calm and relaxed, the more effective, it's kind of contradictory.

The less effort we make, the more calm and relaxed, the better we'll progress in the Secret to Immortality.

This is why we always focus on calm: getting calm and breathing easy.

Heaven on Earth

Our soul is heaven on earth, a heaven with love and everything good.

As our soul alive, we're not alone but in concert with all that exists, blissful and perfect .

Looking within, we discover our timeless selves; this consciousness becomes our daily life. We bring a beauty and lasting quality to everything we do.

At Peace with the World

In work, play and struggle; we can have our best, immortal consciousness. We can be at peace with the world. We can be embraced by life, and know that we're responsible for our deep and wonderful selves.

This love we further suggest, is immortal. It's timeless as our true identity, as physical people alive; this love is eternal, without beginning or end.

Let Love Express and Heal You

It is important to recognize this loving core, this eternal self; to understand it, to let it express and heal you -- dissolving hardship, pain and difficulties you may still hold.

When we go through any stressful life experience, we tend to retain some of it, holding on a bit and ignoring it. This is a survival response that lets us to keep going and getting things done ... but not fully dealing with the past and its continuing effect upon us.

The Art of Letting Go

With a Secret to Immortality, we start to let go of injuries and hardships. As they bubble up, we acknowledge them, and let go with love.

You’re Born to Live Forever!

Our Book, “Qi Gong and Spiritual Growth”

Chapter Six of our book is titled, “Born to Live Forever.” This chapter focuses on bringing you into mindfulness for immortality — becoming aware of your eternal core, the core of you, the physical core that’s you.

It may not be helpful to get into other-world scenarios and metaphysical musings that take us away from the hear and now. With the Secret to Immortality, we’re moving toward unity, not dissociation.

What we teach with the Secret to Immortality is who you are physically, right now — who you can see and touch — is the immortal you, your full and basic self. Awareness, however, is required, a progressing awareness that reveals your true and fullest being.

You don't have to go anywhere else but here, right here; and the trick to immortality is being here in a real and present manner, with the conscious and intent of lasting life.

To Be Fully Here

It takes a bit of practice to be fully here; so think progress, not perfection.

Being “fully here” is not all about being relaxed and calm. Certainly that's a part of it, but being fully here is going deeper and understanding your eternal consciousness — a state of being that we may experience when we meditate, pray, spend time in nature or do something we deeply enjoy.

Our eternal consciousness can be activated in all the cells of our body; so bring eternal awareness into your physical self — as you're mindful and calm.

A Problem You Can Solve

Specifically, a problem for immortal life is our conscious or unconscious expectation of death.

By accepting death as a natural outcome of life … we sabotage ourselves and the world. We throw a wrench into the process of life and manifest destruction.

When we accept death,… we’re creating death, creating an energetic twist that corrupts the process of life; creating disease, suffering and hardship for everyone, to some degree.

The Answer to Hardship and Pain

Is there a solution to this dilemma? Of course there is; yes, there has always has been a solution to suffering, hardship and pain.

Taoists, Kabbalists, Sufis, Yogis, Christians and more, talk of immortality in a heavenly creation.

We suggest this heaven is on earth, in the here and now … as we are. That we’re born to live forever: joyous, happy and free; right now.

The Secret to Immortality, in a non religious manner, suggests that death is NOT the natural outcome of life, but the consequence of harmful behavior and thinking.

Before we get going, let's talk about exactly what we're going to do here, our intent, and how we're going to create this reality of physical immortality, at this time.

"Revive the practice, use or memory of something." This is the definition of resurrect in the Oxford Dictionary.

I suggest we're all immortal now ... that we've always been here as immortal beings, but we've obscured this reality and created kind of an artificial rebirth cycle ... death and rebirth. We've created unnecessarily: suffering, hardship and death. There is a better way.

Our True Selves

In this podcast, we're going to revive our true selves -- our immortal being -- into this reality, our flesh and this world.

How Self Examination Helps

With mindfulness for immortality, we look at how we think, speak and act. And more importantly, how are we habitually thinking, speaking and acting?

To begin, do we think of death as an inevitable outcome of life, as an unchangeable characteristic of this world, like a ride at Disney World where we can't control it?

The One Habit to Break

We suggest to you, the first habit to break is the thought that death is inevitable, or a natural outcome of life. The first habit to break is the idea that we have no control over the physical universe, how the physical world behaves, how our bodies behave.

We'd like you to get into the habit of thinking that perhaps you were born immortal, born to live forever ... with nothing special that you have to do, except think and behave in certain ways.

We have habits of just accepting death, accepting hardship, accepting disease, suffering and pain. Yes, to some extent, we know we can control our lives with exercise and eating right. Hygiene helps a lot. But we don't go all the way with our capability, our ability, in what reality can be.

We Are at the Controls

With the secret to immortality, at ImmortalNow.com ... I suggest to you, we have control over all these things. I suggest that “life is creating the universe, that life lives in.”

There is nothing outside of us, or outside of the world in which we live. There is our core self, and how we express.

With destructive habits, we may contribute to the force that makes a world of death, suffering and pain.

Instead, we can turn around the force of death to joy and lasting life.

A Creation Gone Wrong?

Look around you -- we so easily accept killing, war, suffering and death. Yet, there's no need to compete with anyone for anything. There's a need for cooperation, goodness and love.

We live in a world where almost every form of life is chasing down another life, to kill and eat it ... raw and uncooked. How wrong can a creation be?

We can reverse this death response, to actions that fully honor life.

Step Up and Make a Difference

You can step up and say, "Hey, the rules of this creation are really screwed, and I'm going to change them." That's what we suggest you do at ImmortalNow.com.

We suggest you create a better life with incremental changes in how you think, speak and act.

In this podcast, we discuss Taoist immortals in the mountains of China, the Christian message of living forever and wisdom of the ancients.

Heaven on Earth

The world is not designed for killing, death and hardship; but love, compassion and lasting life.

We're living in heaven now, the Garden of Eden, but we've messed it up a bit by our behavior -- by killing, by doing harm to others and ourselves.

No Need to Kill

Part of the Secret to Immortality is this: we suggest that forms-of-life aren't in existence to kill and eat other forms-of-life. It can seem that evolution is designed that way. But I promise you, it's not. Not at all.

A Beloved Creation

It's a much more beloved, benevolent and productive creation if we act with kindness, cooperate and work together -- to evolve and grow -- not hunt each other down, kill and consume each other. Even single cell animals do that, hunt and kill, as well as bacteria and viruses.

My suggestion is we don't have to do this to ourselves and don't need to live in a world that behaves this way.

We can make dramatic improvement.

Better than Hardship and Death

We should be horrified by life, the design of it, and how it takes place.

We need something better, and can have it.

The force of death ... of demise and rebirth ... is kind of an endless cycle of hardship we really don't need. Certainly evolution happens every second that life exists. I suggest there's a growing consciousness with any type of life process. But let's change the way life takes place for us, the nature of it, the quality.

Let's take the suggestion of our good spiritual friends, through the ages, who say the way to live is physical immortality and heaven on earth.

Qi Gong for Lasting Life

Now, let’s talk about “Qi Gong for Lasting Life.”

Qigong is an ancient Chinese healing art for personal development and physical immortality.

The earliest records of Qigong go back thousands of years, and perhaps even before this time.

Qigong is the original martial art, from which all others forms evolved.

The Early Days of Qi Gong

In the early days of Qigong, it was used as a martial art for soldiers in battle.

Healing, or Medical Qigong developed as surviving, but injured fighters, returned from battle. There were physical and psychological traumas that needed to heal. Qigong was the solution.

Today, Medical Qigong is what I describe as the “Third Pillar” of Chinese Traditional Medicine … where acupuncture and medicinal herbs are the other two pillars.
