Australia’s Eurovision 2026 entry is here, and we’re not pretending to be calm about it.

We have locked Liz, Sam and Bob in the bunker, water boarded them with vodka and got some far too honest answers. Which raises the big argument, is this a smart, safe pick designed to qualify, or a glossy decision that misunderstands what Eurovision audiences actually reward?

We give overseas listeners a crash course on Delta and the reason she can split a room in seconds. For us, the tension is never “can she sing?” It’s how she reads on stage, how genuine she feels, and whether the performance invites people in or keeps them at arm’s length.

A wildcard that somehow makes perfect sense: Eurovision 2026. The UK choice, Look Mum No Computer (Sam Battle), brings DIY synthesizer chaos, dry British humour, and genuine craft. We unpack his mad-scientist approach to building instruments from old electronics, why it inspires people to make things, and why his entry feels unusually authentic, even if the juries don’t know what to do with it.

Eurovision 2026 Semi-Final One is hours away, and Estonia is the last country on our review list, so we go in fast and honest.

ou like Eurovision with real-world context, this is the nerdy sweet spot.

Then it’s time for the main act: Vanilla Ninja. We revisit their chaotic, iconic early-2000s story, including that twist where an Estonian band represented Switzerland and snagged an eighth-place result, the rotating line-ups, the long disappearance, and the inevitable comeback. We also weigh up their 2026 song “Too Epic To Be True” and ask the big question: can nostalgia alone get them through a semi-final, or does the track need more bite to survive the vote?

If you’ve got a shortlist brewing and you’re stuck on those final spots, come argue it out with us. Subscribe, share the ep with your Eurovision group chat, and leave a review, then tell us: does Estonia qualify?

Veronica Fusaro representing Switzerland with “Alice”, a sweet, moody, hooky ballad about a lovelorn lesbian. We trace her path from The Voice of Switzerland to basement recordings, awards, big festival stages, and albums that chart at home, then get specific about why this track could outperform expectations with both juries and the public. If you’re building your Eurovision party trivia or trying to pick sleepers before the grand final, this one’s for you.

San Marino looks like a postcard kingdom carved into a mountain, but the real surprise is how well it runs. We’re fascinated by the numbers: a small population, booming tourism, low unemployment, and a political system that swaps its heads of state every six months. That sounds like chaos, yet it might be part of the secret sauce.

Then things get spicy with 2026’s “Superstar” and the decision to bring in Boy George. We unpack why the collaboration has triggered pushback, how social media arguments have fueled the drama, and the awkward national final moment where he  didn’t appear live and was projected on screen instead. We end with the question that matters for fans and performers alike: what counts as fair play on a Eurovision stage?

Romania’s had the sort of year that makes you ask how a country can keep functioning at all:  Romania’s answer to all that pressure is… a Eurovision entry called “Choke Me”.

We also try not to clutch our pearls as we dive into the controversy head-on, and why clear consent and honest communication are the difference between kink and assault.

If you’re into Eurovision analysis, European politics, or the way pop culture reflects national mood, you’ll get plenty out of this one, including why the song feels tailor-made for televoters even if juries resist. Poland rarely does anything quietly, and that energy runs through everything here, from politics to pop performance.

Poland’s Eurovision 2026 choice feels like a statement. Alicja returns after a long, bumpy arc: winning The Voice in Poland, being selected for the cancelled Eurovision 2020, missing the 2021 slot, and coming back again in 2023 before finally landing the job for 2026. That “unfinished business” narrative matters in Eurovision.

Then we get into the performance itself, because Prey is not subtle. We talk costume, staging, and the wonderfully strange imagery in the official video. Moldova doesn’t just “pick a song” this year. It picks a direction, and you can hear it in everything from the politics to the punchy, life-filled chaos of “Viva Moldova”. And we face the uncomfortable truth that democracy can be loud, contested, and still worth defending.

From there, we track Moldova’s sprint towards the European Union, from accession negotiations and a detailed plan to align national laws with EU standards, to the EU’s big growth funding aimed at reforms and infrastructure. But the story isn’t all paperwork and optimism. An energy crisis hits after gas supplies stop through Ukraine, bringing shortages, blackouts, and a real human toll, while Moldova pays more for electricity and keeps backing Ukraine anyway.

Then we pivot to Eurovision, we ask the question everyone’s thinking: will juries recoil from something this passionate, or is this exactly the kind of hopeful, populist energy Europe is ready to reward?

We run the timeline of his previous contest attempts, controversies, and comebacks, before giving an honest reaction to the song and its presentation. Israel has chosen Noam Bettan with “Michelle”, a multilingual track performed in Hebrew, French and English.  “Michelle” lands with a romantic, nostalgic 60s flavour and a sultry edge, wrapped around the theme of letting go of a toxic relationship.

Noam’s dark, gravelly voice gives the song bite, the chorus is ridiculously catchy, and there’s a crazy moment where the track drops back and the vocal has to carry everything. We also look at Israel’s semifinal one running order spot and why staging may be the final make-or-break factor for a serious run at the top of the leaderboard.

Finland is getting tipped early as a Eurovision 2026 winner, and we wanted to know why.  We connect the dots between national mood and musical choices, because Eurovision songs don’t arrive out of nowhere.  All of that feeds the question we keep coming back to: when a country chooses a Eurovision act, are they reflecting how they feel, or choosing what they wish they felt?

Then we get to the headline: led by the unstoppable Linda Lampenius with Pete on vocals. We unpack Linda’s jaw-dropping life story and why her star power alone makes Finland dangerous, before giving our unfiltered take on the staging choices that can either electrify a performance or trap it behind a concept. Czechia says “Crossroads” and we immediately hear more than a song title. It’s a snapshot of a country that feels pulled between competing directions, and a Eurovision 2026 entry that could either bloom into a live TV moment or get swallowed by the semi-final machine.

We zoom out first, because context matters: political unrest, a new Prime Minister, talk of a no-confidence vote, tension around NATO defence spending expectations, and cuts and reforms that hit public broadcasters and raise real worries about press freedom and disinformation. Then we balance that picture with the other side of the ledger, including big spending on homelessness programs, housing support, and transport upgrades like high-speed rail. That “mixed bag” is exactly why the Crossroads theme lands so cleanly.

From there we get personal with the artist. Daniel Ziska is 23, Prague-based, theatre-trained, and clearly aiming high, even prepping a debut album alongside Eurovision. We talk through our first listens, why the track feels like a dramatic film moment, and why the final stretch of the song hinges on those risky big notes.

Then comes the brutal Eurovision reality check: Semi-Final Two running order puts Czechia straight after another dramatic ballad with strong odds. If staging is vague or the vocals wobble, the performance could vanish. If the visuals are smart and Daniel delivers live, it could be a genuine slow-burn qualifier. Croatia’s Eurovision 2026 story starts nowhere near the stage lights. We’re looking at a country juggling Croatia Serbia tension, a major defence spend, and the return of conscription, then asking the awkward question: how does all that pressure leak into culture and music?

When a nation is carrying history, protecting borders, and arguing about who must serve, the songs that rise to the top tend to mean something.

Croatia selects LELEK, a five-woman vocal group blending traditional Croatian music with modern pop and electronic production, to take “Andromeda” to Eurovision 2026. We talk through their artistic mission, the punch of performing in Croatian, and the lyrics that hit on mothers, daughters, fear, and refusing to be rewritten as collateral. We also make our call on how this could play in the semi and why it might become a “silent but deadly” qualifier that charts higher than people expect.

Bulgaria’s lead-up to Eurovision 2026 is not just a music story. It’s a snapshot of political turmoil, repeated snap elections, protests over corruption, and the economic reality that more than one in five people live at or below the poverty line. We talk about Bulgaria adopting the euro in January 2026, the hope pinned on tourism and wellness travel, and why “representation” should include economic class, not just gender and age, if governments want to get serious about stopping corruption.

Finally, we get to the pop escape: Bulgaria’s selected artist Darina Nikolova Yatova, the chanty “Bangaranga”, and the staging buzz around director Fredrik Rydman. Eurovision 2026 is heating up, and we’re not waiting for rehearsals to start arguing about who actually deserves a spot in the final. We take two very different entries and put them through the same test: what’s happening in the country, who is the artist behind the song, and does the track have enough bite to survive a semi final that moves fast and forgets even faster?

First up is Azerbaijan: Jiva brings “Just Go”, a bilingual Azerbaijani and English pop track with a crystal-clear message and a performance pedigree that includes a past national final run and a big win on The Voice of Azerbaijan. We also talk about the wider backdrop, from the newly announced peace deal with Armenia and reopened trade routes to troubling allegations about pressure on independent journalism. That tension makes the song hit differently, even when the storyline is a straight-up breakup and the video leans into classic pop romance.

Then we pivot to Belgium and Esla’s “Dancing On The Ice”. We unpack the name twist, her career path from The Voice Belgium to her debut releases, and the “fun but not a winner” feeling that can be deadly in semi final one. Along the way we touch on Belgium’s headline-grabbing year, because Eurovision songs don’t exist in isolation, and context often shapes how we listen, vote, and remember.

If you’re searching for Eurovision 2026 predictions, Azerbaijan Eurovision analysis, or Belgium Eurovision reviews, this one is built for you. Austria is having a tough run: recession, soaring energy costs, a housing squeeze, and climate-linked disasters landing at the same time budgets get cut. So when we look at Eurovision 2026, we can’t ignore the context, because it changes how a “fun” song feels. Sometimes a chorus is more than a hook, it’s a coping strategy, and Austria’s pick leans hard into that idea.

We talk about Austria’s representative, Cosmo (Benjamin Gedion), a 19-year-old with a ridiculous list of musical milestones. Then we unpack “Tanschein” (literally “dance certificate”), performed in German and why that is becoming a real theme this year. If you’ve been waiting for more German on the Eurovision stage, Austria is happily feeding you.

The heart of the chat is the song’s meaning: a dance floor that rejects toxic masculinity, bravado, and predator behaviour, plus another layer that touches LGBTQIA+ nightlife and the tension that can arise when different crowds collide in spaces built around safety. We also get practical about Eurovision staging, because masks and choreography look cool, but they can also bury the message if the visuals don’t translate fast for a pan-European audience.

We pull up fresh releases and comeback attempts from artists you’ll recognise, then get painfully honest about what works, what drags, and what should never have left the draft folder.

We set our sights on Sam Ryder, Alexander Rybak and Malta’s Miriana Conte serving cheeky pop, then celebrate Nemo’s return to camp fun on God’s A Raver. And yes, we finish with the Sunstroke Project, Epic Sax energy, and the staging decision that left us yelling at the screen: chairs.

We kick off by testing our tolerance for novelty with Vabe’s “Gamer Boy”, a track that sounds like it escaped from a 90s ringtone catalogue. From there we jump to Sweden’s national selection ecosystem and Sanna Nielsen’s return, where stage presence and polish raise a real question: how can something that feels Eurovision-ready still land 10th at Melodifestivalen?

Then The Roop arrive and the music review turns into an unexpected crash course in pop culture signals, bandanas, and the hanky code, proving once again that Eurovision fandom is never just about the notes.

Armenia’s been living through big headlines, and we can’t stop thinking about how that pressure leaks into pop culture.

Then we pivot to Eurovision 2026 and ask the question that matters for fans: what does a national reset look like on a stage built for spectacle? Armenia skips a national final and internally selects Simon, the 2025 runner-up who did far better with juries than with the public. We unpack his background, the broadcaster’s strategy, and why “trying to be iconic” can backfire when authenticity is what actually reads through the camera.

Finally, we get into the song itself: “Paloma Rumba”.  We talk sound, tempo, lyrics made for burned-out nine-to-fivers, the System of a Down comparisons people are hearing, and the extra earworm credibility from co-writer Rosa Linn of “Snap” fame. If you love Eurovision analysis, Armenia Eurovision news, and staging reads that go beyond the surface, this one’s for you. Albania starts our Eurovision 2026 countdown, and we’re not treating it like a three-minute track dropped from the sky. We zoom out first: what’s been happening inside Albania over the past 12 months, what’s been driving the public mood, and why that matters when a country chooses a song to represent it on the biggest live music stage in the world.

We talk through the headlines and the atmosphere:  All of it helps explain why a darker, heavier Eurovision ballad might feel like the most honest choice right now.

Then we get to the artist and the entry. Albania’s pick is Alis, we give you a spoiler-safe background first, then clearly mark the moment we start talking about the song “Nan” for anyone who wants to avoid spoilers

From the choir to the grief-soaked lyrics to the make-or-break live notes and staging questions, we lay out what could send Albania through semifinal two and into the Eurovision 2026 Grand Final.

No spoilers, no song rankings, no “who will qualify” guesses, just the stuff that actually shapes what you’ll see on Eurovision night. We’re digging into Eurovision 2026 stage design, lighting, and production planning, because the stage isn’t background furniture, it’s the machine that turns three minutes into a moment.

We talk through why stage layouts matter so much, including what can go wrong when a runway dominates the blocking or when the space feels like it pushes the artist away from the audience. From there we get into the creatives behind the build: stage designer Florian Wieder and lighting designer Tim Routledge, plus what their track records suggest about how ambitious 2026 could look on camera.

Then we shift to the production details that deserves louder headlines: sustainability and accessibility. Eurovision 2026 is aiming for a fully LED and laser-based lighting approach to cut energy use, heat, and materials without shrinking the spectacle. And Vienna’s accessibility push is seriously exciting, with services like vibration vests that let you feel sound, international sign language performances, subtitling, audio description, and an accessibility-focused app designed to make the “greatest show on earth” easier to experience for everyone.

Eurovision 2026 isn’t a distant concept anymore. The moment the semi-final running order lands, the whole contest snaps into focus and suddenly you can feel the pressure of those early slots, the “forgotten by midnight” risk, and the way one placement can change a country’s odds before a note is even sung.

We walk through how the EBU splits countries across Semi-Final One and Semi-Final Two, if you care about Eurovision semi-final running order strategy, this is where the contest gets quietly decided.

Then we get to the 2026 voting changes. The vote cap drops from 20 to 10 per payment method, but we debate why that still isn’t the same as “one person, one vote” and what it means for fairness, cost, and fan behaviour.

And yes, we go there: juries are returning to the semi-finals. We unpack why that’s controversial, how it can clashes with televote favourites, and what it says about who Eurovision is really for.

Guess who's back in the Eurovision hot seat? After equipment delays and mental cobwebs, your favourite straight-talking podcast host returns to dissect Eurovision 2025 in all its controversial glory.

Eurovision 2025 might not have delivered the strongest musical offerings, but it certainly provided enough drama, debates, and dance battles to keep fans entertained long after the confetti settled. The standout moment? That unexpected lyrical face-off between Baby Lasagna and Käärijä during what was supposed to be a simple interval act. When these two Eurovision icons hit the stage together, not a single viewer could resist squealing with delight. This "Eurodab" battle proved that while winning the trophy matters, sometimes winning the hearts of Eurovision fans is the real victory.

Behind the sequins and key changes, this year's contest revealed fascinating cultural fault lines. Finland and Malta's performances highlighted what appears to be "the final taboo" – women's sexuality – triggering global conversations about representation and acceptance. Meanwhile, the enhanced anti-booing technology sparked debates about authenticity versus production values in broadcasting. Is it censorship or simply good television production? We'll unpack these questions and more in upcoming episodes, including a deep dive into the annual voting "controversies" that never seem to surprise yet always manage to inflame the Eurovision community.

The podcast takes an unexpected but welcome turn when addressing post-Eurovision depression, offering practical mental health advice and emergency self-care tips (paper plates, anyone?). Whether you're suffering from Eurovision withdrawal or depression, remember that reaching out for professional help isn't weakness – it's winning at life. Until then, take comfort knowing Austria awaits us in 2026!

Buckle up for our raw, unfiltered reaction to Eurovision 2025's second semi-final! We're diving into this year's wildest collection of musical offerings before the performances even hit the stage.

Australia opens the night with what might be the most polarizing act of the competition – the infamous "Milkshake Man" who's already generating heated debates across the Eurovision community. From there, we journey through the musical extremes that make this competition so addictively watchable: Montenegro's gothic drama, Ireland's bizarre tribute to a Soviet space dog, and Malta's controversially censored "Serving" that has fans ready to rebel against the EBU's language restrictions.

The standout performances of the night promise to be Czechia's sultry, Bond-worthy "Kiss Kiss Goodbye" and Austria's operatic vocal showcase that could either soar or crash depending on the live delivery. Meanwhile, Georgia brings traditional dancing elements that will have jury members reaching for their highest scores, while Finland closes the show with a provocative female empowerment anthem that could divide voters.

What makes this semi-final particularly fascinating is the clash between jury bait and public favorites. Will the juries ever embrace the theatrical elements that make Eurovision unique, or will they retreat to safer, more traditional performances? And which countries will ultimately secure their spot in the grand final?

Ready to join us for this Eurovision journey? Grab your scorecards, prepare your party snacks, and don't forget to hydrate! The road to Switzerland's 2025 Eurovision is about to get very interesting indeed.

#eurovision #eurovisionsong contest #eurovisionpodcast #eurovisionaustralia #eurovisionfunny

The countdown to Eurovision 2025 has begun, and the first semi-final promises a rollercoaster of musical styles, cultural exchanges, and surprising performances. As 15 countries vie for just 10 qualifying spots, clear frontrunners and dark horses are emerging from an eclectic lineup.

Sweden breaks tradition by sending their first Swedish-language entry in years with "Bada Badu Bastu" – ironically performed by Norwegians. This sauna-themed anthem with its infectious choreography has fans worldwide attempting to master the dance routine. Yet history suggests the Eurovision jury may once again prevent a quirky crowd-pleaser from claiming the ultimate prize, despite overwhelming public support.

The night opens with Iceland's Vibroa, twins delivering an unexpected sea shanty pop fusion that sets a high bar from the start. Estonia follows with "Espresso Macchiato," a coffee-themed bop that curiously out-Italians Italy itself, while San Marino continues this theme with "Tutta l'Italiana," a love letter to all things Italian that somehow captures Italian spirit more authentically than Italy's own entry. This curious trend of countries channeling other nations' cultural identities better than the originating countries themselves runs throughout the competition.

The Netherlands' Claude with "C'est la vie" emerges as the first serious contender for the overall crown. This emotionally stirring ballad effortlessly blends French and English lyrics, beginning with soft piano notes before building into something truly special. Its beautiful composition and heartfelt delivery make it a potential winner, exemplifying the best of what Eurovision can offer: unexpected brilliance from unexpected places.

Have you made your predictions yet? Will the twerking goths of Poland survive questionable vocal performances? Can Ukraine's cult-like "Bird of Prey" stand out enough to qualify? Watch the live performances to see if my predictions come true, and join me soon for analysis of semi-final two!
