Flowmeters have been used for hundreds of years, but it is only relatively recently that the most adaptable technology has become available for process applications. Coriolis meters were first patented in the 1950s and first introduced as lab instruments in the 70s. They began to be rolled out to specific process applications a decade later and have rapidly evolved in design and performance since then, to the point now where they are by far the most accurate and repeatable flow sensor technology for process liquids and gas applications. Some meter designs can also be applied to custody transfer situations, further validating their outstanding performance specifications.
Most Coriolis meters on the market then, and now, feature a multi-tube or single bent tube sensor design. KROHNE was among the earliest producers of Coriolis meters and quickly distinguished itself by developing the first single straight tube design for challenging processes that could not accept bent tube solutions.
In this episode, I would like to discuss some of the challenges that Coriolis meters can tackle better than other flowmeter technologies and I would also like to take it a step further and share a few unique situations where only a very specific solution could be applied.
Some aspects we’ll cover:
•The basics of Coriolis meters
•How their performance matches to other types of flowmeters
•Where do bent tube and straight tube meters apply themselves
•3 Specific unique applications
•What you need to consider

Contact us by email at info@krohne.com

Kennedy once evoked an ancient truth in these words:

"When written in Chinese, the word 'crisis' is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity."

To be clear, KROHNE is not espousing any radical beliefs. Nor is our company considering that we have the key to solving the world’s major problems.

What we DO unequivocally believe is that our people, our mind set, our culture and ultimately our technology can and does contribute to humanity’s better wellbeing.

You see, measurement, done well, is the key to every improvement.

Lord Kelvin, a prominent scientist in an era of incredible discoveries at the dawn of the industrial revolution summed it up best.

he said that “If you cannot measure IT, you cannot improve IT.”

in this case, ”IT” can by anything.

some examples In your personal life:

Want to lose weight?

you need to know how much you weigh now so you can track your progress.

Want to start saving more money?

you’d better figure out where you are spending money now and track it to establish a budget.

Want to learn to play guitar?

you need measure your progress against some learning objectives.

You see, measurement is at the core of everything!

Let’s expand our scope and take it several steps further:

How about The water you depend on for your existence?

It would not be clean if it were not for devices measuring the flow, level, temperature, chemical composition, and pressure throughout the industrial processes used to make it potable.

what about The massive volume of waste from households and all sorts of industries?

That waste would be poisoning us if it were not for the processes that incinerates, scrubs, filters, recycles and remediates it.

how about The clothes and shoes we wear? the homes we live in? the cars we drive?

they all depend on a long chain of industrial processes that make them possible.

how about the food we eat?

Agriculture, irritation, manufacturing and distribution all depends on some kind of process that delivers it to us while fresh, HEALTHY AND nutritious to our bodies.

oh, and what about THE PHARMACEUTICALS WE ARE PRESCRIBED SO WE CAN ENJOY a longer lifetime with OUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS?

yes, KROHne serves all those industries, and more.

You see, you might not think of yourself as an important contributor to our planet’s wellbeing, but don’t kid yourself.

What you do matters.

Every time a KROHNE product is used, There is an important reason that device’s measurement is needed.

It is needed to improve the world in some small but meaningful way.

Contact us by email at info@krohne.com
