Walking through the cafeteria to find students from various classes excitedly waving created a special kind of joy that made the challenges worthwhile. So much so that I immediately scheduled more first-grade assignments in the coming weeks.

We have students that inspire us all of the time.  In this case, underachiever Russell convinced me to be a student advocate for him and his fellow underachievers.  And, I'd do it again.

Also, I submitted an application to be a full-time substitute teacher for the entire year, and I was offered the job in less than 24 hours!
