"Desolation and Radiation" is Produced by Maurizio Baggio (recently producing Soft Moon, Boy Harsher, & Nuovo Testamento) The adventurous sound of the album is coaxed from various guitars, vintage instruments, reverbs, and the marranzanu (a traditional Sicilian harp.) Mercanzin plays most of the instruments and is augmented by Maurizio’s vintage synths and old 60s organs, Michele Tedesco’s trumpets on "Nowhere to Ride," and Stefano Miozzo’s pedal steel guitar on "Far from Here.”

A clever adrenaline-filled composition, the song is about imagining and seeking the type of relationship based on love and companionship that is most desirable to you. A song that is, at the same time, a light forewarning about creating that perfect person in your mind.

FRED ABONG is a Filipino-American indie / alternative rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist –who upholds his reputation for creating a blend of “ragged Replacements and lyric-driven Bob Dylan” and as “Elliott Smith with balls”.

Getting his musical start in the 1980’s in Rhode Island as a drummer, bassist and guitarist in several hardcore punk bands, Fred Agong is best known as the bassist in the early 1990s for the American alternative rock band THROWING MUSES and BELLY, as one of the original members. He then put music as a profession on hold for academic pursuits, earning a Ph.D in Humanities and serving as a professor at various universities for eight years before returning back to music.

Continuing to write songs as a solo artist, Fred Abong's music has a raw and unpolished production aesthetic with an overall direct, though deceptively imaginative and oblique, presentation. Apart from his work as a solo artist, he is also currently bass player in the KRISTIN HERSH ELECTRIC TRIO.

Dark electronic artist Slighter released his full length album "This Futile Engine" via Brutal Resonance Records and Confusion Inc. Mixed and mastered at The Cell Studio, the 13-track record features collaborations with Steven Seibold of Hate Dept, Yvette Winkler of Vaselyne, Craig Joseph Huxtable of Landscape Body Machine, Morgue VVitch, Deep Dark Water and more.

Slighter is the project of Colin C., an audio engineer, a self taught musician and producer and one of the pioneers and certified trainer in Apple's Logic Pro in the early days- this led him into sound design with collaboration with Loopmasters to create Logic Pro packs for users to tighten up their mix engineering skills.

While very much an independent artist who largely files under the musical radar, Slighter's music has also found its way onto mainstream shows over the years, with songs and remixes featured on such television shows as Showtime's "House of Lies" "Elementary (CBS), "Bones" and "Lethal Weapon" (Fox), "Defiance" and "Covert Affairs " (NBC-Universal).

She was a post doctoral scholar at Harvard University and served as lecturer and professor at Wellesley College,Brandeis University, Harvard University Extension and various other universities in the US. She was academic administrator and consultant to many individuals and companies in the United States and abroad. She has worked as an arbitrator/ mediator, interpreter in French for the US Department of State rural sociologist for the United Nations Development Program in West Africa, public speaker in the U.S., Europe, the Caribbean and South America, and was a radio personality in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

In 2013 Helen published Seven Seconds or Less: From Gut Feeling to Bottom Line in Challenging Areas of Business, a book about applied intuition for mergers and partnerships, human resource management, new product development, and other important aspects related to business.

She resides in Honolulu, Hawaii where she is currently working on a book of essays called Grits and Granola, The “granola” component offers a worldview that may help diminish the re-emergence of intolerance across continents and cultures. Chicago-based EVIDENCE OF A STRUGGLE consist of multi-instrumentalist REV. BILLY SIMMONS and an evolving group of artists and musicians that began in 2020 creating a lush, cinematic, beautiful and sometimes chaotic compositions.

Rev Billy Simmons began working with renowned sound engineer Sanford Parker (Voivod, Russian Circles, Yob, Eyehategod, Wovenhand, Darkthrone, Youth Code, Pelican) who helped produce, record and master the final versions of the songs in his 13- track eponymous album which was released in June 2023. The album is complemented by a multi-chapter audio-visual storybook, created by Chicago artist John Air, who has been involved with the project since the outset- creating videos, album covers and accompanying visuals for live performances.

With a backstory involving collaborations with RCA recording artist Ke and various artist on major labels like RCA, Touch and Go, BMG and Universal, it is no surprise that Evidence of a Struggle would evolve. In 2023 Matt Walker (of1000faces, Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, Garbage, Filter) joined the project, playing drums and helping with production with Matt's brother Solomon Walker (Morrissey, Bryan Adams, Eastern Shadows, Year of The Rabbit) and Alan Berliant (Chris Connelly, Mavis Staples, Saint Asonia ) also on bass.

Rev Billy also owns Rev Billy's Chop Shop, also known as an inclusive, creative space, hosting new artists' work bimonthly and declared by Chicago Reader as the city's best gallery in 2019. Be sure to see the video interview on My Tube Channel. Link is below .

Manhattan-Based Artist Nevaris Collaborating With Music Legend Bill Laswell

Manhattan-based musician Nevaris releases his LP called "Reverberation" which he collaborated with music legend BILL LASWELL, DJ Logic, Lockatron and more via celebrated boutique label M.O.D. Reloaded. 'Reverberations' is the third collaboration between Nevaris, Bill Laswell and a lineup of musicians focusing more on the dub aspects of their sound. This instrumental recording combines dub, funk, afro-latin rhythms, turntablism and extended improvisation.

"There were dub aspects of those recordings, so Bill Laswell and I decided to create a recording entirely focused on that sound. It was a logical next step and came together in an organic way. we let the music go where it needed to go," Says Nevaris.

Having gained the support of Carlos Santana, who calls his album "a work of supreme creativity" Nevaris earlier shared the lead track "Dub Sol."

In addition to his work as a musician, Nevaris is a visual and multimedia artist, who has worked on a vast array of creative projects across mediums. He also co-founded Nolej Records, Nolej Studios and the Uncomun Festival

Formed in Oxford in 2019 Jody And The Jerms released their third full-length album called "Wonder" via JATJ Records. Prior to Wonder, they released Flicker in 2022 and Deeper from 2020. German indie alternative rock duo Para Lia will be releasing their latest album "In Clash With The Zeitgeist" on August 25, 2023 via the Berlin label About Us Records.
"In Clash With The Zeitgeist" was mastered by Thommy Hein (Die Ärzte, Nina Hagen, Udo Lindenberg ) which blends their love for the late 80s and early 90s indie rock with some 60s influences, psychedelic, garage rock and early prog rock elements.

For their love of Greece, their band name is Para Lia, meaning "coast" or "beach" in Greek (παραλία) -a name full of mystery but optimism, which both has history and evokes a balance of the masculine and feminine. Para Lia is multi-instrumentalist René Methner and vocalist Cindy Methner.

For this duo, symbolism and lyricism are of importance. Their second single,'Yellow Rose' is an ode to losing a loved one who can never be forgotten and keeping a piece of them in your heart. The yellow rose stands for loyalty, close friendships and the circle of trust. São Paulo, Brazil's BIKE was formed in 2015 by Julito Cavalcante (guitar and vocals), Diego Xavier (guitar andvoice), Daniel Fumega (drums) and João Gouvea (bass). I spoke to Joao and Daniel of the band.

BIKE released their debut album "1943" in 2015, followed by "Em Busca da Viagem Eterna" 2017, "Their Shamanic Majesties Third Request" in 2018 and "Quarto Temple" 2019 each bringing them their critical acclaim. Bike is also the only Brazilian band that has released music (Enigma Do Dente Falco) in 2014 through Columbia Records imprint, 30th Century Records, founded by cult American Producer Danger Mouse.

BIKE'S latest album (May 2023), produced by Guilherme Held is called "Arte Bruta " via Quadrado Magico Records/Before Sunrise Records. Melbourne-based synthwave artist Suburban Spell has new EP called "Falling Down," named such in direct reference to the long-term consequences of bad choices and giving into guilty pleasures.

Suburban Spell is the solo project of Peter Lawrence Endall whose music combines the austere beauty of Kraftwerk, 80's melodic sensibilities, driving rhythms and some noisy grind thrown in for good measure. Influenced by the heyday of new wave and 70's-80'selectronica, the music carries the beautiful imprints of such artists as Ultravox, OMD,Visage, Jean-Michel Jarre, The Cars, Gary Numan and New Order.

Endall's previous band Schizo Scherzo was active in the Melbourne, Australia's 80s music scene, playing alongside such acts as The Eurythmics, Pseudo Echo, Real Life and Feral Sharks. Having re-emerged on the music scene as Suburban Spell, he found his niche in modern Australian electronica.

In February 2023, Suburban Spell released the "Split Levels- Remixed" EP, a series of reworking of his acclaimed 2022 "Split Levels album, which included goth rock legend William Faith (Christian Death, Faith and the Muse, The Bellwether Syndicate) and New Zealand's very own Elenor Rayner Robots In Love.

Ursa (Let Us Out) and Sarah's (Hexapheen ) partnership was born from a mutual admiration coupled with the desire for a more creatively fulfilling project in which they could explore different styles and ideas, unbound by the constraints of an already established multi-player band, all the while learning new skills and gaining experience. Thus, in 2016 the theatrical duo from Montreal, SU was born.

They released three EPs (The Web, Little Sun and A Heart So Dry), a series of four conceptual singles (Existence, Metamorphosis, Discomfort and Transcendence) and one full length album ( he(art) is a moment). They started with a sound that was closer to trip hop, and started including more and more influences from other genres such as industrial and movie scores as they became more comfortable with their musical identity. NYC- based chill-lounge master Roman Angelos and renowned producer Scott Solter just released today their full LP called "Supermarkets, Underwater, " on Happy Robot Records.

The 9-track collection follows the 2022 album "Music For Underwater Supermarkets," which combines electronica and exotica, painting a sonic dreamscape transposing the mundane act of grocery shopping to an aquatic utopian landscape.

Roman Angelos is Brooklyn -based producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Rich Bennett who developed an obsession with library recordings of the 60's and 70's, muzak, jazz and exotica.

Scott Solter (St. Vincent, Maps & Atlases, Spoon, Superchunk, the Mountain Goats) is a producer/ engineer who took the original album and created a darker and more ambient landscape.

South Carolina's alternative pop duo The Yets consist of Robin Wilson and Craig Anderson Snook who met when Robin returned to her home state after some years in Georgia. Now based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, their music combines elements of ethereal pop and popular rock classics with a sound embracing Fleetwood Mac and the Cocteau Twins in equal measure. Breeding and bearing a distinct Americana lining, their debut EP called "The Yets" is an emotively cast and atmospherically delightful proposition.

"In a very general sense, this album is about life: the passage of time, relationships and the consequences of the choices we make along the way. I’ve always wanted to bare my musical soul, but never had the right vehicle. That musical soul has always wanted to speak to the world, but never had the right voice. The Yets is that vehicle and Robin is that voice,” says Craig Anderson Snook, who has performed semi-professionally since he was 13. His musical passion led him beyond cover bands into composition, arrangement, audio engineering, production and ultimately to running his own Royal Terns Records label and studio, where he recorded, mixed and produced their EP.

After being immersed in the music scene while in high school, Robin found her way to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where she fronted the goth-rock band Bachelors of Art (B.O.A.). Upon Relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, she fronted the female alt-rock group, Skirt, touring the USA extensively and supporting numerous high profile acts.

"Chicago Glampires" PLASMATA founded by frontman, TRENT JEFFRIES, teams up with Sisters of Mercy's Ben Christo and Aly Jados (Blood People) ,the latest in Plasmata's current series of new remix singles from 2021's Portraits of Pain EP, produced by William Faith (Faith and the Muse and Bellwether Syndicate).

The original incarnation of Plasmata formed in Chicago back in 2005, releasing their debut single ‘Lifeblood’ the same year, followed by the Wails from the Crypt EP in 2007. Assembling a talented band of multinational players, Plasmata soon had well-received live shows, international compilation appearances, college radio airplay, specialist club DJ rotation, and a coveted place in UK music journalist and goth historian Mick Mercer’s book Music to Die For (2009) all under their belt. By 2011, a full album had been recorded, and the band was shopping for a label: all involved were understandably excited. “That is until January 2012,” Trent Jeffries recalls, “when I was felled by a ruptured brain aneurysm.” A near decade on from Trent’s debilitating aneurysm, the band’s 2021 Portraits of Pain EP deals with that process, while showcasing a dramatic and electrifying fusion of hard-hitting, dark alternative rock and metal, gothic rock, classic Chicago industrial rock, Hollywood glam and L.A. deathrock – all of it wrapped up in Plasmata’s distinctive theatrical “Glampire” aesthetic. As a live band, Plasmata currently comprises Trent Jeffries (vocals, guitars, synths); Marco Obaya (guitars); Ryan T. The 8th full-length album by North Carolina's The Mystery Plan is called "Haunted Organic Machines" released on 10mm Omega Recordings. I spoke to Jason Herring, one of the founders and producers (Along with Rob Tavaglione ) of the Charlotte-based collective that formed in 2010 initially as a duo (Jason Herring and Paul Jensen). Then Jason's wife, Amy Herring joined the band. Several years later, the line-up grew with Otis Hughes, Patty McLaughlin Thomas and Jefferson Chester.

The Mystery Plan's previous releases was produced by the legendary producer John Fryer (4AD, This Mortal Coil, Black Needle Noise). The collaboration shaped their albums: the 2017 "Queensland Ballroom", "Zsa Zsa," 2020 and "You Also Have Eyes" released on 2021.

"Pennies By The Pound" was formed by Frontman and songwriter Johannes Susitaival and Vesa Ranta in 2017 with the lineup expanded in the next few years by first Tomi Laaksonen and then Alexander Meaney, both musicians from previous projects. Having written for a variety of bands, Johannes began exploring his passion for alternative and progressive rock, which led to their self produced "Bloodshed and the Blinding Sunlight " EP in 2018 followed by their debut album "Heat Death of the Universe" in 2020.

The Helsinki-based band worked with Ride frontman Mark Gardener who mastered the track at his OX4 Sound Studio in Oxford, and top national producer, Rauli Rake Eskolin who has had over a dozen No.1 records in Finland to his name in the past 20 years. "Pennies By The Pound" will be releasing their upcoming concept album "Nothingside" via the Lilith label.

Martin Saint And His Latest Solo Album, Radio Murmurs

Martin Saint is the frontman for Montreal-based indie rock/ post punk quartet, The Ember Glows. Martin's latest album is called "Radio Murmurs," his fourth solo release since 2019, including his experimental spoken album "Fly Tales" that came out that same year. This new collection emerged during the pandemic with the specific intention to produce a full-length album.

He said, the goal was to achieve a result similar to David Bowie’s "Low" album, with half the record featuring more accessible pop hooks and the other half more atmospheric and texture-driven. As always, lyrics aim at standing for themselves outside the music, as a major cornerstone of the ensemble.

Glimmers of Nick Cave, Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Simple Minds and The Doors infuse most of Martin Saint’s work and Radio Murmurs displaying these references a little at a time.

I spoke with singer-songwriter Léanie Kaleido of the UK-based Indie pop duo, Karamelien. Based in East Grinstead, Karamelien is made up of singer-songwriter, Leanie Kaleido and guitarist Mark Foster. They released their debut single "Ascension Heights," a song inspired by and featuring Top Topham's track of the same name. While technically a new project, "Ascension Heights" samples the track by Leanie's father, the late Top Topham, the original founding guitarist of the Yardbirds. Produced by RIDE frontman, Mark Gardener, this song also features an appearance by Morris "Mo" Pleasure, bassist of Earth, Wind and Fire.

“My father was a huge influence on me both musically and spiritually, and I will always be grateful to him for that. He was always so supportive of my own work and we often played music together. I sampled his beautiful instrumental track 'Ascension Heights' and wrote the lyrics as a tribute to his spirituality, which was a huge part of his life. All of his children miss his presence greatly.” Leanie Kaleido

More recently, Karemelien also released "Wait For Me," a song about reincarnation, a piano ballad produced by Chris Mars of A Flock of Seagull. The song was inspired by a love story that has been made into a book, a story that transcends life and death. Karamelien also released "Lionhearts" an uplifting track about love and unity in difficult times.

I interviewed French dark wave project, Distance H, founded by Parisian producer ManuH and I also interviewed singer, songwriter Liset Alea.

ManuH's musical universe finds its source in post punk, dark wave, cold wave, ethereal and shoe gaze, sometimes borrowing some more electronic sounds. His debut EP "Intimacy" was released January 2023, where he invites female singers to express the distances they wish to take from their experiences, those that are self-imposed, liberating, or those they would like to avoid. He worked with singer Liset Alea on a song called "Reason to Rush," an impelling dream pop evocation, navigating the realms of reason and impulsiveness, luminous euphoria and its dark plunge.

Liset Alea is known for her long collaboration with Nouvelle Vague and her other independent works.

"Intimacy" features Liset Alea, Marita Volodina and Ophelia from Saigon Blue Rain.

Rob Munk Releases "Phased Out" via Magic Door Record Label

Alternative Rock musician Rob Munk released his new "Phased Out" album via Montclair, New Jersey based Magic Door record label, a grassroots imprint founded by Guided by Voices Kevin March and producer Ray Ketcham and Renee Lab from Elk City.

"Phased Out" is a record that somehow comes out of nowhere from an artist that has been almost everywhere. This is modern rock that respects people's emotional intelligence. With elements of 1990’s and 2000's indie rock and traces of 1970’s AM pop, this is music that respects people's emotional intelligence.

For Rob Munk, music was never the plan. An actor from the age of three, he and his brothers would commute into NYC from New Jersey for gigs to help support life with a single Mom.

After several years of filming commercials, including Jello pudding with Bill Cosby to scenes with Tina Fey, Tony Hale, John Goodman and Paul Giammatti, Munk was also cast as young Woody Allen in "Stardust Memories," his brother having played the same role in the Oscar-winning "Annie Hall." Munk was also a copywriter and creative director, writing huge campaigns for ESPN, Delta Airlines and AT&T.

Upon moving to Boston, Munk's new band Thudpucker became a staple on the Boston rock scene in the early 90s as many local bands were starting to explode. Between several singles, gigs and touring, they opened for Pavement, Hole, the Afghan Whigs and Juliana Hatfield. "Phased Out" is out now. Thank you for your support !

From her early years dabbling in music as a family-oriented hobby through to her move to L.A. and release of nearly a dozen singles to date, Faith Marie has always written purely from a subconscious place.

I interviewed the legendary English music Journalist, author, environmental activist and founding member for the perennial post-punk band The Membranes John Robb.

When John is not touring with his band (they recently toured in Europe with The Stranglers, The Chameleons and Fields Of The Nephilim), he’s presenting, moderating or writing for his popular UK music site Louder Than War. John has previously written the best-selling books “Punk Rock : An Oral History” and “The North Will Rise Again : Manchester Music City 1976-1996”. His latest opus is the 650-page “The Art Of Darkness : The History of Goth”, an in-depth account that he feels presents the first major and comprehensive overview of Goth music and culture and its lasting legacy.

Daniel Darrow is a founding member of the Art rock collective, The Pull of Autumn. The band released their 4th LP called Beautiful Broken World via RBM Records, 15 tracks that involves a number of iconic artists, including Phillip Parfitt of The Perfect Disaster, Stuart Moxham of Rough Trade postpunk band Young Marble Giants, Luke Skyscraper James of I.R.S. recording artist Fashion and John Neff, who has contributed to multiple David Lynch films and a member of David Lynch's Blubob.

The lead track in the album is called "Outlaw Empire," which features The Pop Group legend Mark Stewart and bassist Doug Wimbish (Living Color, Tackhead, The Rolling Stones, Sugarhill Gang) and remixed by the legendary producer Adrian Sherwood.
The Pull of Autumn also teamed up in this album with Japanese dream pop outfit Once Grace Forever on a single called "Live Today."

HEM NETJER Inspired by Ancient Middle Egyptian Culture

Vancouver, Canada based, Hem Netjer creates dark electronic folk music. Inspired by the #MiddleEgyptian word for god's servant (Priest) they combine ancient stories, traditional instruments with modern technology. Haunting female vocals blended with deep throat singing and catchy synth lines create sounds that "moves the body and the soul."

Raven Rissy is the lead vocalist, songwriter and visual designer. She is classically trained in piano, clarinet, fiddle, harp, tagelharpa, rotta lyre and frame drum. Her Egyptology degree influenced their EP called Kemet, including the song "Anubis" sung in ancient Middle Egyptian.

David Deckard combines traditional sounds and electronic music and specializes in digital sound design. As a computer programmer he experiments with different technologies and input devices with the goal to bring digital melodies to the stage in a way that feels as natural as a traditional instrument would.

Jesse Ellytt experimented with creating electronic music until discovering #throatsinging Using the traditional #tuvan style as a base, his deep reverberations mixed with digital basslines shapes into a unique combination of sounds and rhythms. His style of singing creates an experience that will be different each time a song is performed.

I spoke with Null Device's Eric Oehler and Jill Sheridan.

Founded in 1995 in Wisconsin, Null Device is constantly experimenting and evolving their sound, drawing a wide variety of influences, passionately fusing everything from bhangra to post-punk to pop to ambient rock into their music. Null Device is always pushing the borders of synthpop, but what is constant is their soaring, catching melodies, lush vocals and meticulously-crafted production. The band consist of founder Eric Oehler (singer, songwriter, violinist) and Co-founder Eric Goedken (Lyricist and producer), Jill Sheridan (Singer, songwriter and long time contributor) and Kendra Kreutz (Cellist and system engineer ).

Null Device released their eight album, "The Emerald Age"by Distortion Productions. The album is available on CD and on all streaming and digital platforms. "The Emerald Age" explodes with synthpop hooks that collide with aggressive Berlin-influenced beats, propulsive body music bass, symphonic orchestration, and moody atmospherics.

Speaking to Rikard Tengvall of A Projection. The band first began in 2013 with influences such as The Cure, Joy Division, Interpol and Editors then went on to cut their first three albums which were firmly rooted in the post punk genre. In 2020, the band went through some changes that included their line up, their sound and their label.

Currently, their latest 4th studio album entitled "In a Different Light" finds the band merging elements of dance flavored electronica with modern darkwave and classic ’80s post-punk; the results, as the band explains, present a shift from a “hard-boiled, minimalistic sound into a more readily accessible one,” while still adhering to the attitude and aesthetic that first defined A PROJECTION. "In a Different Light" is available on Metropolis Records on both limited vinyl and compact disc along with all digital and streaming platforms.

Post-Punk New Romantics Candy Coffins released their latest single "Tangled In Teacups " with accompanying video featuring ballet dancers juxtaposed in an urban landscape, produced and directed by The Pierson Collective. The single is from Candy Coffins' LP called "Once Do It With Feeling," a 10-track collection with Cure-esque textures and melody.

Lead vocalist and songwriter Jame Lathren said, "The full album chronicles a relationship from the onset of the first crack to its complete crumbling dissolution. All the feelings and emotions of tumult are captured here, from both persons’ perspectives."

Formed in 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina, Lathren founded the band with guitarist Tom Alewine, followed by Alex Mabrey on bass, Justin Purdy on Keyboards and drummer Jonathan Bradley.

Dante-Inspired Gothic Electro-Rock Trio DISPEL, Interview with Scott Dispel

Dante-inspired gothic electro-rock trio called DISPEL released their latest LP called "INFERNO." Produced by Dispel, the album was mastered at the Cage Studios in Coventry, England by Martin Bowes of Attrition.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Dispel consist of lead vocalist Ravensea, Sean Gallows (Vocals and Bass) and Scott Dispel (Drums and Keyboards). I spoke to Scott Dispel, a founding member of the old school hardcore band Face Value and former drummer for Textbeak and who is also a studio engineer, producer and award winning night club DJ.

Based on Dante's literary masterpiece, the album "INFERNO" features a song for each layer of sin existing in the infernal realm. Dispel follows Dante and his guide Virgil down each layer of the Nine Hells, dedicating a song to each level of mortal sin. Sprinkled with diabolical personalities from ancient mythology and fantasy literature, this undertaking took two years to complete. Laced with dark melodies, vocal depth and spiritual quests, Dispel creates a unique musical narrative, channeled through the prism of historic lore, mythology and mysticism.

"Influenced by an equal mix of darkwave beats, Medieval literature, and conceptual rock albums, the music behind Dispel was born. But soon after the completion of our debut album ‘Lore’, the world went on lockdown! So we headed back into the studio to create another conceptual album, but we had to up the ante. A spiderweb-ridden bookshelf held the key - “Dante’s Inferno” in its timeless glory," says Scott Dispel.

Formed in early 2019 by members of Montreal-based indie artists Room Control, REPO, Scene Noir and Citylake, The Ember Glows is Richard Bunze (Guitar), Kevin Hills (Bass), Martin Saint (Vocalist and Guitar) and Dan Stefik (Drums).

Long-time friends since their teenage years, personal chemistry and musical synchronicity brought them together as The Ember Glows. With all four of them also being part of other bands, what started as a side-project ultimately became everyone’s main music priority,fueled by their jointly-forged sound and corresponding adrenaline. Each member brings something different to the table - Rich with his knack for texture and big sound, Kevin’s rumbling groovy bass lines, Dan’s manic and melodic drumming, and Martin’s delicate lacing of baritone and jangly guitars.

They released their single called Silent Love, a sonic exploration of steadfast love, the fragility of life and the power of silence. Martin performs a solo acoustic version of Silent Love in this interview.

On this album, Connelly worked with producer and long time collaborator Chris Bruce. "Eulogy to Christa" is a labor of love, empathy, sadness, acting and channeling, along with Connelly's adoration of the dark corner of rock inhabited by the Velvets and their peers. This album sees Connelly purposefully adopt the personas of Nico, Lou Reed and John Cale. The album was inspired by the book "You Are Beautiful And You Are Alone" by Jennifer Otter Bickerdicke, who contributed to the album liner notes, noting "This is a record to be played at full blast, all the way through, as a commemoration not just to Nico the person, the musician, but to art for art's sake, for making something because it is important and needs to be done- an idea that is as rare and precious as Nico herself."

Italian Gothic Metal Band, Vlad In Tears Latest Album Porpora

The Italian gothic metal band based in Berlin, Germany, Vlad in Tears released their latest 8th studio album called "Porpora" on Metalville Records on September 19, 2022.

The band consist of three brothers who decided to move from Italy to Germany in 2013, Kris (Lead vocalist and keyboards) Dario (Bass) and Lex (Guitar). Their bandmate Alex joined them on drums.

Since releasing several albums since 2006. Vlad in Tears are always looking for new sounds and arrangements to perfectly blend their melodies with very dark sounds, ranging from 80’s New Wave to the hardest and most modern rock sound.

"Porpora," is a record described by Kris as their most important works so far. Written in a time of uncertainty, he explains "all the topics treated in this album are related to loneliness, sorrow, dark heavy thoughts about death, self-harm, and suicide.” They also released a cover of Kate Bush's 1985 classic "Running Up That Hill"

Frenchy and the Punk is made up of singer, percussionist, and lyricist Samantha Stephenson and guitarist and composer Scott Helland.

Dark times make for dark songs. "Zen Ghost" was written and recorded from 2020 to 2021 where the duo's shadowy sound takes an even darker turn. An inward spin into the pair’s previously unexplored personal planes and interpretations of the insanity of our increasingly tumultuous age. But despite its more pronounced moodiness, like the restof the band’s oeuvre, "Zen Ghost" offers plenty of opportunities to dance in the darkness.

French-born, but raised in England and America, Stephenson’s early study of piano and dance ignited her eventual rejection of corporate conformity and fueled her quest to lead a truly autonomous life through art and music. A son of jazz-loving teachers, Helland grew up in Western Massachusetts, where he was a vital player on the region’s famously fertile Deep Wound along Dinosaur Jr. founders J Mascis and Lou Barlow , as well as Outpatients.

Ronan Conroy and "The Slow Death of The LoveMyth"

Brooklyn-based artist Ronan Conroy released his latest single, "Dark Paradise," a goth rock rendition of the Lana Del Rey classic. "Dark Paradise" is the second release that followed "Double Helix" featuring Julie Dicterow on vocals. The two singles are in Conroy's latest album called "The Slow Death of the Lovemyth," produced, engineered and mastered by Charlie Nieland (Frontman of Her Vanished Grace and Lusterlit).

Since 2013, Conroy has immersed himself in the "Lovemyth" project, this work culminating in "The Slow Death of the LoveMyth" which he describes as a collection influenced by the 80s and 90s goth bands he grew up listening to, as well as ethereal darkwave bands he would be introduced to later.

The album is accompanied by a video created by NYC artist Hypnodoll and features a sword swallowing performance by La Reine The Thrill. The record also features performances by Shannon Brown, Susan Huang and Julie Dicterow and more.

Interview with Ryan Policky from goth, shoe gaze band, A Shoreline Dream

Iconic shoe gaze/postpunk collective A Shoreline Dream Ryan Policky and Erik Jeffries just released the full LP called "Loveblind" via Latenight Weekend Records following their critically acclaimed album "Melting" (2020).

The sixth full-length album from the prog-goth shoegazers dives into the recollections and desires of the past while gazing in a wash of sound waves pointed towards a blinding future. Recorded from November 2021 - July 2022 in the Barnum suburb of Denver, Colorado, the single previously released "Alarms Stop Ringing" is accompanied by a video filmed at the Best Little Boarding House and Black Monarch Hotel in Victor, Colorado. The Black Monarch is a goth hotel dream-come-true, frequented by Nikola Tesla back in his day, and The Best Little Boarding House is a converted brothel that is probably the most haunted place in the city (Just try staying asleep through the night!)," says Ryan Policky.

Over the years, A Shoreline Dream has churned out numerous acclaimed releases, working with legends such as Ulrich Schnauss, Mark Kramer and The Engineers (for whom they created a remix for progressive label gods K-Scope). They also opened for Chapterhouse for their very final appearance. Bristol, England's Electro-dub duo REE-VO - Andy Spaceland and T.Relly

I spoke to groundbreaking electro-dub duo Ree-Vo. The duo from Bristol, England, Andy Spaceland and T. Relly recorded, produced and mixed their debut LP called "All Welcome on Planet Ree-Vo" ( Dell' Orso Records/ SRD) at Bristol's Christchurch Studios, known as the home of the Mezzanine-era of Massive Attack's most commercially successful album.

In spring of 2022, Ree-Vo released a limited 7 inch of the "Spacebox" EP with stunning original artwork by American contemporary artist, activist and founder of OBEY clothing line, Shepard Fairey featuring remixes by Batbirds (the duo of Joe Cassidy AKA Butterfly Child and Aaron Miller) and NOISE (the musical collective of Joe Cassidy , Shepard Fairey, Merritt Lear and John Goff). Ree-Vo also released "Combat" and a powerhouse remix of this track by iconic UK electronic music producer Surgeon (Tresor Records).

T. Relly is Bristol hip-hop royalty- known in the community variously for his links to all of the city’s major club nights, his passion and support for the most disadvantaged (through his work with the youth and prison leavers), through to compering stages at St. Paul's Carnival and his seminal 2018 album with DJ Rogue "Let Them Know."

After leaving art school (Where Brian Eno was his examiner), Andy Spaceland got involved in bass music upon moving to Bristol, first with Static Sound System and a collaborative 12" with Rudy Tambala (AR Kane) as Sugarboat Vs Sufi, before his band Alpha signed to Massive Attack's Melankolic label, whilst also become their tour DJ. His collaboration range from Smith and Mighty and Horace Andy to Elizabeth Fraser and Madonna, having released music on DJ Die's label Gutterfunk as White Bully. Andy is also part of 5 Billion in Diamonds with LA Producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Garbage) and is working on new material with Mark Stewart (The Pop Group) as well as Adrian Sherwood.

Sydney Australia's lead vocalist for Post Punk outfit Sounds Like Winter and Sequential Zero, Ant Banister is also the founder of record label Mantravision Productions. Sounds Like Winter released three albums: Initiate, Sticks and Stones and Fight the Stairs.

Sea Lungs is the musical collaboration between Melbourne, Australia's Jarrad Robertson and Sydney's Andi Lennon (Sounds Like Winter).

Sea Lung have debuted their new single called "Truffle Pig" which reflects on the struggle for workers’ rights in times of extreme exploitation, particularly that of the working classes of the Gilded Age.

Legendary bassist and founding member of Public Image Limited, Jah Wobble

Legendary bass guitarist, punk rebel, genuine geezer, singer, author and music journalist, Jah Wobble is one of the founding members of Public Image Limited (PIL), along with John Lydon, formerly of the Sex Pistols. After PIL, he embarked on a number of successful solo projects and collaborations, including the Invaders of the Heart and the Human Condition.
His autobiography, entitled Memoirs of a Geezer: Music, Life, Mayhem was released in September 2009 which was well received by critics.

As one of the most innovative bass players of our time, his signature low-end bass anchors crisp percussion and panoramic space-echo effects. He recently collaborated with Telefís' the project of the late Cathal Coughlan and Garret Jackknife Lee and released several remixes of"Falun Gong Dancer" and he also collaborated with The Ukrainians and Jon Klein to produce " Ukrainian National Anthem in Dub." Greek Singer Songwriter Lia Hide Latest Album, The Missing Fourth Guest

Goth Rock Legends Skeletal Family with Stan Greenwood and Karl Heinz

This is my interview with two of the founding members of the Skeletal Family- Stan Greenwood and Karl Heinz.

Formed in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England during the early 1980’s out of the band ‘The Elements,' Skeletal Family took their name from the title of the song “Chant of the Ever Circling Skeletal Family” from the 1974 David Bowie album, Diamond Dogs. Skeletal Family gained popularity in the UK Independent Charts, recorded tracks for the John Peel Sessions and released studio albums ‘Burning Oil’ (1984), ‘Futile Combat’ (1985), Sakura (2005), Songs of Love, Hope and Despair (2009), along with several singles and EPs.

The Family is back with a new line-up which consist of vocalist, Anneka Latta (Formerly of the band Exoterik) who joined the band in 2021, along with Stan Greenwood (Guitar), Karl Heinz (Keyboards and Sax), Roger Nowell (Bass) and Adrian Ozzy Osadzenko (Drums). They just released a new single/video called "My Own Redemption" with an album release later this year.

Here is my interview with Volker Zacharias of Girls Under Glass. Girls Under Glass, one of the pioneers in the German darkwave and dark electro music scene was founded in the spring of 1986 in Hamburg, Germany by Thomas Lucke, Hauke Harms and Volker Zacharias.

After the brilliant last album "Zyklus," released in 2005, the band is back with a new full-length album called "Backdraft" which contains 10 brand new tracks + a bonus CD. It will be released on vinyl and 2 CD art book by Dependent Records at the end of 2022 with several pre-single releases. The band will feature vocalist/guitarist Volker Zacharias, along with programmers Hauke Harms and producer Axel Ermes and other bandmates performing in the album and future live performances. UK Based Alternative Artist and Producer Pete Burns of Kill Shelter

Kill Shelter is UK based alternative artist and producer Pete Burns. His unique work blends elements of post-punk and contemporary electronica and heavily processed guitars.

His critically acclaimed debut album “Damage” and the subsequent collaboration with Norwegian dark electronic artist, Antipole called “A Haunted Place”, sold out in a matter of weeks. His remix portfolio includes cult names such as Christian Death, The Wake and Aleister Crowley as well as She Past Away, Agent Side Grinder and many more.

His latest album is called “Asylum” and according to Burns, "All the tracks delve into different interpretations of the word asylum and highlight challenging themes such as human trafficking, domestic abuse, seeking refuge, disillusionment, bedlam and redemption. It definitely has a dark energy.”

London-based trio, Decommissioned Forests is a collaboration between post-progressive multi-instrumentalist Daniel Vincent (The Resonance Association), industrial electro-punk Max Rael (History Of Guns) and experimental musician, CG artist, and film-maker Howard Gardner (Non-Bio, Pillars of Golden Misery). Brought together by a shared love of outsider luminaries such as Coil, Current 93, Cluster, Nine Inch Nails, Nurse With Wound and Throbbing Gristle, they have been making music together since 2018.

Their new album, "Industry" is an ambient- infused, post-industrial journey through uneasy electronica, accompanied by a sometimes bleak, sometimes hopeful spoken-word narration. Each member of the band contributes to their unique sound.

Goth Band from Costa Rica, Ariel Maniki and the Black Halos

Hailing from San Jose, Costa Rica, Ariel Maniki formed the Black Halos in 2014 then releasing the debut album, "The Descending" in 2015. While line up changes in 2016 saw the addition of long time keyboardist Janice Black, they then released their second album, "Labyrinth," the "Teargarden EP" and the signing to Brazilian label Deepland Records. Their third album followed in 2017 called "Ritual" with the band embarking on the Ritual Tour the following year which took them throughout Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, The UK, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic. Eva Red then joined the band resulting in the present day trio,
Ariel Maniki and the Black Halos. Their 4th album, "Jade" in 2019 followed by another tour to Mexico and Brazil. In 2020, they released an acoustic session EP and video called "Live Under Will."

Their most current epic full-length studio album is called "Black Light" via Deepland Records which includes the well- received singles, "Strangers" and "Emptiness" along with remixes from UK musician, DJ and World Goth Day Co-founder BatBoy Slim and Colombian darkwave/Coldwave duo Antiflvx.

According to Ariel Maniki, "The lyrics explore the many different internal and emotional parts of oneself, especially the darkest ones, which we are expected to bury and suppress. As such, a recurrent theme of Black Light is “embracing the flawed and corrupted beauty of humanity.”

Trance To The Sun's Drummer, Daniel Henderson, Newphasemusic and Luscious Apparatus

Newphasemusic is one of the many projects of Portland, Oregon's Daniel P. Henderson, the drummer of the Neo psychedelic post-punk band, Trance to the Sun. Newphasemusic's debut single is called Starter. To celebrate the launch of the forthcoming album, Dan Milligan of The Joy Thieves And Rona Rougeheart of SINE contributed slamming remixes and Colin C. of Slighter applied the final touches. Newphasemusic's full length album , The Dark Side of The Earth is set to be released later this year. Henderson has also performed with internationally known Tuvan throat singer Soriah, a Cure Tribute band called theXplodingboys, Devoured by Flowers and more recently, he joined Luscious Apparatus in 2021.

Luscious Apparatus blends cinematic soundscapes, synths, shoegaze textures, and syncopated percussion, to create a sound best described as Electrogaze or Noir Pop. Founded by Jack Norton as a studio project in 2019, the Portland, OR based act evolved during the great plague of the early 2020s with the arrival of Sandi Leeper on vocals. Catherine Hukle, a guitarist from Seattle, moved to Portland, providing the band's signature walls of sound and Henderson who joined on drums in 2021. All members are active in writing and producing for Luscious Apparatus. Luscious Apparatus just released their second single, Bricks and Bones on Bandcamp and all streaming platforms.

Shane Te Kawenata Bradbrook and Adrian Workman, New Zealand's post punk band, Vietnam

Formed in the Wellington, New Zealand suburb of Wainuiomata in late 1981 while in high school, at a time when Māori visibility in New Zealand’s punk, post-punk, and alternative music scene was rare, the young four piece VIETNAM notably featured two members of Ngāti Kahungunu: vocalist Shane Te Kawenata Bradbrook, and bassist/songwriter Adrian Workman; alongside co-founder/co-writer and guitarist PeteDransfield, and drummer Leon Reedijk. The original four piece immediately disbanded upon the release of the Vietnam EP (Jayrem Records, 1985).

Thirty years later, the eponymous EP was rediscovered by bloggers, YouTubers, and record collectors in the US and Europe, becoming widely hailed as a “lost classic” of New Zealand music.

In late 2016, Spanish label BFE Records reissued Vietnam as a full-length LP, with the addition of bonus archival live and demo tracks.

To celebrate, the original bandmates reunited for the first time since 1985 in Wellington, NZ, to play what was intended as one last show in February of 2017. A roaring success, the reunion show encouraged the band to stay together long enough to create the new album called "This Quiet Room."

Jah Wobble and The Ukrainians Released "Ukrainian National Anthem in Dub" feat. Jon Klein

The legendary Jah Wobble, the original bassist of the postpunk band, Public Image Limited and folk-punk legends, The Ukrainians released "Ukrainian National Anthem in Dub" feat. Jon Klein, (guitarist, Siouxsie and the Banshees) in support of UK-based war refugee charities. I spoke with the Ukrainians' lead vocalist, Len Liggins regarding this collaboration.

Produced, recorded and mixed by Wobble and Klein, via Dimple Discs, the idea for the song emerged when Wobble's bass tech suggested he do a collaboration with the Ukrainians, long time purveyors of traditional Ukrainians music, heavily influenced by western post punk.

The Ukrainians current line-up is Len Liggins, (lead vocal/violin) Peter Solowka (acoustic guitar/backing vocals), Paul Weatherhead (backing vocal/mandolin) and Stephen Tymruk (Accordion).

Sales and proceeds from the Ukrainians National Anthem in Dub will be donated to Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) Help Ukraine Emergency Appeal.

Songwriter and musician David Mosey from NYC based Alternative Rock Collective, London Plane

I spoke with founding member David Mosey from NYC-based post punk alternative rock collective London Plane. The band will be releasing their new album called "Bright Black" on June 17, 2022 on Declared Goods. London Plane is David Mosey (guitar and vocals), Jessica Cole (vocals), Bryan Garbe (drums), Grant Parker (bass), Julian Tulip (Synths) and Kristofer Widholm (guitar).

Following the success of their debut album"New York Howl" in 2018, the band worked on new material in 2019 and early 2020. The result is "Bright Black'", an album packed with hope amidst cultural, sociopolitical, and ecological devastation, screaming a passionate battle cry back to the pop music spectrum. In effect, a hook-filled Avant-rock study in context and contradictions.

The title track "Bright Black" at once an anti-war song, is a statement of hope - of brightness - amongst the invasion of darkness, both internal and external, imminent and eventual, this track sets the tone for the album as a whole.

"Francesco "is a haunting goth-dance anthem that channels through a Latin prism. Equally inspired by a cloth-covered 1970s diary by an immigrant, found among personal belongings discarded on a New York curb and the hospitalization of Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy on the eve of his NYC performance, "Francesco" spins the tale of Catholic Saint, stigmatist, levitator and mystic Padre Pio as a young man.

New Zealand Based American Artist Parabola West AKA Amy Tucker West

Drawing inspiration from Celtic, Nordic folk and electronica, Parabola West is the artist persona of New Zealand-based American singer and songwriter Amy Tucker West. Originally from Springfield, MA, Amy began songwriting on piano as a teenager and, at age 21, she was recruited into London-based trip-hop band Dreamfield. With two critically acclaimed releases to their credit before splitting in 2003, West relocated to New Zealand, taking a 10-year break from music to work in IT and engineering recruitment, returning to her musical roots in 2013 under the moniker Parabola West.

This is the soundtrack of Middle-Earth, mixed in with elements of Loreena McKennitt and female-fronted synth pop / indietronica. Living completely off-grid in an eco-home up a misty mountain, Parabola West is entirely self and fan-funded as a 100% independent artist with no label affiliation.

Parabola West released her debut 'Did You Hear?' EP in 2014, followed by her 'Purity of Weakness' EP in 2017. More recently, she also released "Stars Will Light The Way," a 13-track LP, all recorded at the healing frequency of 432Hz.

Mickey Weems and Marwan Kamel from the City of DJinn Project

The City of DJinn project began as an invitation by Mickey Weems, Project Coordinator to send Marwan Kamel and Micah Bezold to travel from Chicago to Hawaii to perform as the City of DJinn and bring Muslim musical artists to perform and discuss Islam, Sufism, mysticism and transgression to Hawaii. Weems submitted a proposal and was granted by SEEDS IDEAS and the Department of English at UH Manoa. Kamel and Bezold are both students of Sufism who take traditional Arabic music and give it an American twist as their version of drone rock. When Covid 19 struck, it didn't stop the musical duo from completing the project and they started to work remotely and the collaboration extended to include some of the following artists: DJ Chris Chartier, hip-hop activist Navid Najafi, Poet Yasmine Ruhia, Sama Essa of Oman, DJ Russell Dement-Trent, DJ Yves Kline, violinist Patrick Park , KTUH Honolulu and myself, DJ Nocturna who helped coordinate the interviews. There's a whole list of people to thank for this project but it could not have been possible without the undying passion and dedication of Mickey Weems

Kamel and Bezold ground their music in the intricacies of maqam, the classical system of melodic modes in Arab music and Amercian rock. "I went through a punk phase," he recalled, but was not satisfied with American music and the instruments with which he had become familiar, first the violin as a child, then the guitar. Eventually, he encountered his true love, the buzuq, a long necked string instrument found in Syria and Lebanon. As rooted as he is in classical Arabic music, one might suspect that his second love is innovation. But he finds much of his energy is dedicated to resurrection.

This multitasking duo, City of DJinn create post-Tarab - a longform sonic tapestry of dark, psychedelic, drone rock that draws from experimental music vernacular as well maqam tradition. Their arsenal of instruments ranges from electric buzuq, modified quarter-tone acoustic-electric guitar, violin, fretless electric guitar, foot pedal drums/cymbals, darbuka, daf, DIY stompbox and samplers.

Robots In Love began with a mind-meld between Elenor Rayner and an Atari Computer. With the ability to combine intense emotion with pounding beats, Elenor creates beautifully sad music for the dancefloor.

A prolific and critically acclaimed New Zealand based-artist, she first established a successful music career in Melbourne, Australia touring the world and has credits on more than 50 CD releases. She was once named “up and coming artist of the month” by Rolling Stone magazine and she is best known to fans of dark electronica and industrial music worldwide for her previous output as Sobriquet Nation, and as a member of Snog, The Crystalline Effect and Soulscraper.

Her focus has been on Robots In Love remix collaborations, including work with Caustic Grip, Stars and the Underground, two remixes of the same song for LazyboyProactive, and the brand-new remix of JA/VI’s dark pop song "Good Cocaine." She is currently working on new remixes for Swedish indie-pop band Tiny Fighter, and Australian darkwave / post- punk / gothic rock legends, IKON. She's preparing for live dates with Snog in September supporting Pop Will Eat Itself in Melbourne and Sydney; and recently revealed that Soulscraper are also planning live shows for later this year.

Melbourne, Australia Artist, Peter Endall And Solo Project Suburban Spell

Melbourne's Suburban Spell, also known as Peter Endall is a veteran of Australia's new wave, synthpop, post-punk scene since the 1980s. Formerly the keyboardist for the popular 80s Melbourne band, Schizo Scherzo, Suburban Spell was taken from a line in the 1986 Pet Shop Boys hit single, "Suburbia."

Initially an instrumental project, Suburban Spell's debut single is called "Integration" from the self-titled album released in January 2021. Split Levels, the latest album release on February 14, 2022, is a title referring to the popular Mid-Century design style for Split Level Suburban homes. With Endall's fascination with architecture, the new album treats the "Split Level" aesthetic analogous to the suburban dichotomy, drawing heavily from the aesthetics of Brutalist architecture. Edward Ka-Spel of the Legendary Pink Dots

Edward Ka-Spel has built an international following with his dark psychedelic folk melodies and astute lyrics. Best known as the lead singer, keyboard and electronics player, songwriter and co-founder of the band The Legendary Pink Dots. He has also released numerous solo albums and has worked in various different projects including The Tear Garden (with cEvin Keyof Skinny Puppy), and Mimir (with Phil Knight, Christoph Heemann, Jim O’Rourke and others) and has collaborated with Amanda Palmer From The Dresden Dolls releasing the LP "I can Spin a Rainbow" and Steven Stapleton's Nurse With Wound, just to name a few. Ka-Spel’s albums range from abstract electronic noise to more traditional pop songs, incorporating diverse elements of psychedelia, industrial, avant-garde, experimental electronic, art pop, classical music, folk, sampling, noise, collage, music concrete. His lyrics have been described as intensely mystical, incorporating recurrent themes from his own personal mythos.

The Legendary Pink Dots' new studio album is called "The Museum of Human Happiness" available on the band's website or Metropolis Records. His latest solo works include "Conspiracy of Pylons" and "The Concrete Diaries" and many more. The Legendary Pink Dots' North American Tour 2022 was recently announced, followed by their European Tour in 2023.

Indietronic Artist Rodney Cromwell Releases Latest LP Memory Box

London indietronic artist Rodney Cromwell AKA Adam Cresswell , is one half of acclaimed #electronic duo Arthur & Martha. He was also a founding member of indie-folktronica band Saloon, who had four entries in Legendary Radio DJ, John Peel's Festive 50 and recorded three PeelSessions.

Cromwell released his latest LP "Memory Box" in March 2022. This 12-track solo album was mixed and co-produced by Richard Bennett at Acme Hall Studios in New York and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Goldfrapp, Paul Weller, Pixies). The 'Memory Box' album mixes synthpop, hauntology, dreampop and European coldwave, using analogue synths and drum machines with minimal computer sequencing. Cromwell creates a distinctive and compelling organic, dream-like world, inspired as much by Alice in Wonderland and Franz Kafka as by its sonic influences - artists including Kraftwerk, The Cure, Polyrock and Stereolab.

Today, he released "Opus Three" the second single taken from "Memory Box" an enhanced version with a new 5-track maxi-single.

Father and son duo, Cyborg Amok consist of Greg Bullock and his son, Brydon Bullock.

Greg Bullock, formerly the keyboardist with RealEyes and Shamen is the principal songwriter and voice of Cyborg Amok. Greg continues his journey suspended in dark waves crashing over striking landscapes. His son, Brydon Bullock emerges as an up and coming drummer on the local music scene. He has performed with Rockit Live in NYC and on the Jersey Shore. Brydon adds a contemporary element to the Cyborg Amok landscape with solid grooves and strong backing vocals.

Cyborg Amok released their self-titled album in 2021 and more recently their latest video "Dancing On The Floor of The Sea Of Tranquility." Their upcoming LP is due to be released late summer or early fall of 2022.

Alternative pop artist Jenn Vix has a new collaborative track called "You Are A Star" featuring #AliScore, original drummer of the legendary Grammy-award winning new wave synthpop band, A Flock Of Seagulls.

This release sees the legendary drummer return to music after a lengthy hiatus, putting to work the technique that helped A Flock of Seagulls become one of the most influential bands of their era, blazing the way for new wave and synthpop, becoming a Top-40 band with numerous hit songs and a Grammy to their credit, not to mention their enigmatic presence and awe-inspiring sound.

Jenn Vix launched her musical career in Rhode Island, her first experience as a vocalist with the 1980s one-off band Disco Donut with Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys and singer-songwriter Nicole Willis. Over the years, Vix has collaborated with many talented musicians such as Reeves Gabrels (The Cure, David Bowie, Tin Machine), John Ashton (Psychedelic Furs) and Marco Pirroni (Adam Ant, Rema Rema, Sinead O’Connor) just to name a few.

Her latest single, PTSD which offers a glimpse into her personal experience with the diagnosis and life with this disorder, Vix worked with Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Chris Gehringer.

In Hawaii, we are running on our 3rd Annual event, we skipped a year because of the pandemic or it would have been our 4th one. This event will take place again at The Equus Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii with actor Coyote Shivers who played Berko in the film and accompanying him, Hollywood legend, author and professional dancer, Pleasant Gehman . There will be a screening of the film, live entertainment by Coyote Shivers (Berko) performing "Sugar High," a taping and a singalong video for his new release "Lockdown Love” will be filmed. Come dress in 80s attire or whatever you like and bring a ukulele guitar if you have one and join in the making of the video and the fun.

Bauhaus Bassist David J Latest Solo Album, "What The Patrons Heard"

David J is the iconic bass player and a founding member of one of the most influential bands, BAUHAUS . The Band spearheaded the post-punk alternative music scene of the early 80s with a string of innovative albums and singles, including a song that is ranked as a classic, the pinnacle of the goth subculture, "Bela Lugosi's Dead" featuring the lyrics of David J. The song was also featured in Tony Scott's classic vampire film, The Hunger. The British post-punk pioneers just released their first new song in over a decade called "Drink The New Wine" in celebration of their first full North American tour in 16 years, making an appearance at the Cruel World Festival, followed by shows in the US and more starting in May.

David J released his debut solo album "Etiquette of Violence" in 1983 while then forming the successful Love and Rockets in 1985. As a highly acclaimed songwriter, he continues to collaborate with various authors, poets and musicians and continues to produce his trademark brand of deeply heartfelt and darkly sophisticated music.

His latest album, via Give/Take record label is called "What the Patrons Heard," is a storied collection of originals and brilliant covers recorded over the timespan of 34 years. These ten literate and impassioned songs were originally only available in digital format to David J's Patreon subscribers. "What the Patrons Heard" marks the first time these songs are available to the general public.

New Zealand Artist Justine O' Gadhra-Sharp Releases Solo EP Called Sidhe

Justine O' Gadhra-Sharp is a vocalist, drummer, and performance artist from Christchurch, New Zealand who was a member of the noisy alternative rock band The Gael (1995-96), Flinch, Pulchritude, DiS, Artemisia and the long-running DIY underground label and artist collective, kRkRkRk from 1996-2000.

Sídhe (pronounced “shee”) is her debut solo EP which blends brooding and seductive lounge-bar cabaret with dark electronica. Originally recorded during the early 2000s in the forested hills of Tītīrangi, Auckland, with drummer and long-time collaborator Iva Treskon (Pulchritude / Artemisia); the Sídhe recordings languished unfinished and unreleased for many years but brought back to life by producer and multi-instrumentalist Josh Wood (The Mercy Cage, The Altar, Melody Fallen) and at Junk DNA Recording, Wellington, by engineer and musician Bryan Tabuteau (Crash-Scan, Узб96, Radar Angel, Nullity).

Justine is also joined by guest singer Michel Rowland (Disjecta Membra) and session bassist Matt Shanks, for the crooning lounge-lizard duet, ‘Stanley’s Only Hope’

Layla Reyna, Strap On Halo lead vocalist and Licorice Chamber

Layla Reyna is best known as the vocalist for the popular US goth rock trio Strap On Halo for more than a decade (2008-2020). Based in Omaha, Nebraska, the trio toured the US, the UK and Europe and joined the Uk's The Last Cry and DJ Martin Oldgoth at the "Near Dark Over Europe" Tour in 2014. Strap On Halo released two albums and several EPs and singles, easily winning over US, UK and European fans of the dark, visceral, guitar-driven howl of early Cocteau Twins, Faith and the Muse, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Mephisto Walz and X-Mal Deutschland.

Now based in Seattle, Washington, Reyna has a new project called Licorice Chamber. She released her debut EP early this year called 'The Taste of Falling'. The lead single and video ‘This Love is Dark’ was released in December 2021, accompanied by the stomping Codename:Lola dancefloor remix from UK DJ / producer / musician Lee Meadows (DJ BatBoy Slim, The Glass House Museum). The single and the remix have remained in daily rotation ever since, via specialist DJ sets, radio shows, livestreams, webcasts, and curated playlists worldwide. Guest players on the EP include New Zealand guitarists Michel Rowland UTM Music Group and Blair Wotton. The EP is mixed and produced by Jeremy Knox and Licorice Chamber, and mastered by sought-after Scottish UK engineer, Gordon Young (Children on Stun, Dream Disciples)

Dublin's Alternative Artist Ava Vox releases debut single, Crash and Forthcoming Album Immortalized in 2022

Dublin's post punk alternative artist AVA VOX released her single, Crash in December 2021. Produced by Ray McLoughlin who has performed and recorded with various artists from Cliff Richard, Daniel O’Donnel, Francis Black, Brian Kennedy, Derek Ryan, Nathan Carter, the RTE Concert Orchestra, Rick Astley and Mary Coughlan, her forthcoming debut album called "Immortalised" is set to be released in 2022.

Ava Vox began as a vocalist at 17 in the 1980s forming a gothic rock / post-punk band called "The Seventh Veil." After significant airplay and excellent reviews by the likes of Hot Press Magazine, Eamonn Carr, and the Evening Herald, the band won the Battle of the Bands competition, the prize being recording time with Dublin producer Paul Thomas, well known for his work with U2, Kate Bush, UB40, Status Quo, Davy Spillane and Clannad.

In February 2021, Ava Vox debuted with her rendition of The Cure's "Love Song'", slowing down the tempo and solely accompanied by piano, performed by Ray McLoughlin. She followed up with "Strange Days" single, a 2-track release that included her own rendition of Soft Cell classic "Tainted Love" and the Bowie track "Life on Mars" . Inca Babies Founder and Frontman Harry Stafford

Harry Stafford is best known as the founder, guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist of the post punk gothic rockers from Manchester, England, Inca Babies

As a vibrant part of Britain's early postpunk / death rock scene, Inca Babies' story began in 1983 in the now-legendary deck-access flats of Hulme (Manchester). In 1984, they self-released their debut single "Interior." With six singles and four albums over five years, all of which entered the UK Indie Charts, they also recorded four sessions for BBC's John Peel show in 1984-1988. Inca Babies' latest 8th studio album, their first LP in 7 years, "Swamp Street Soul" is available now. He released two solo albums: Guitar Shaped Hammers and Gothic Urban Blues In 2020.

Stafford's latest collaboration is with US -based Brazillian guitarist Marco Butcher and their LP is called "Bone Architecture" from Black Lagoon Records. The LP includes reworked older material, brand-new compositions and even a dirty blues version of the classic Pink Floyd "Arnold Layne".

Italy's Vonamor and the Invocation of Love

Vonamor is Italy's postpunk, darkwave and electro trio band. The band’s roots dates back to 2016 in Rome, Italy when their focus was to communicate images, authoring various scores for short films. This morphed into the trio as we know it today with its contemporary taste and allure, literary echoes, imperious art-pop and enigmatic aesthetics.

Vonamor is made up of sisters Giulia Bottaro (voice, bass, metal flute) and Francesca Bottaro (drum station, sequencer, sax, clarinet) and vocalist Luca Guidobaldi, with Francesco Bassoli (guitars and loops) and Martino Cappelli (guitars, mandolin, bouzouki, oud, loops) joining the trio for live performances.

They released their single in November 2021 called “Take Your Heart.” A game of Dionysian invocations, of accusations and misunderstandings- all of it held together by a deep love that overcomes death. “Take Your Heart” is an invocation to life, to love, to irony, to spontaneity in line with the poetry of Vonamor. Their self-title album is set to be released in February 2022.

AMMO, Singer, Songwriter, A Cold War City

AMMO is a rock and roll photographer, producer, musician and songwriter. Currently based between Los Angeles and New York City, she released in 2021 the single “Rose + Crown” with a video for the title track, directed by AMMO and co-filmed by Christopher Slater. The B-side to the single is called “Total Recall,” which is a tribute to Adrian Borland of the influential UK band, the Sound. It is the first charitable compilation on the Dun Altar label, aimed at increasing awareness to the mental health conditions plaguing millions today which Borland suffered from schizoaffective disorder and severe depression.

She has produced a feature film, co-founded PLAG Presents, a platform for women musicians and the LGBTQ community voices to be heard.

More recently, she released a haunting dark ethereal spellbinding song called “A Cold War City” in December 2021 via Mourning sun Records which was Co-produced and recorded by Alex Posell and mixed and mastered by Robert Duncan IV. Tune in this Saturday !

Irish Music Legend Cathal Coughlan, Microdisney, Fatima Mansions and Telefis

Cathal Coughlan is the Irish music legend, Co- founder and singer of acclaimed 80s /90s groups Microdisney and Fatima Mansions. As one of Ireland’s most revered singer and lyricist, Coughlan has been described by the Guardian as “the most underrated lyricist in pop today.” The legendary DJ, John Peel said he could “listen to Cathal Couglan sing the phone book.”

In 2019, Coughlan and the members of Microdisney were the first recipients of Ireland’s National Concert Hall Trailblazer Award, which celebrated culturally important albums by iconic Irish musicians, songwriters and composers (for 1985’s The Clock Comes Down the Stairs)

In 2021 Coughlan released his latest solo album in Dimple Discs called Song of Co-Aklan, his first new music in ten years, along with videos produced by Emmy Award-winning Filmmaker George Seminara. Recorded in London, the tracks in the album features contributions from members of long time collaborators The Grand Necropolitan Quartet featuring Sean O’Hagen (Microdisney, High Llamas, Stereolab), Luke Haines (the Auteurs, Black Box Recorder), Rhodri Marsden (Scritti Politti), acclaimed Irish-singer/songwriter Eileen Gogan, Andrias O Gruama (Fatima Mansions) and Cory Gray (The Delines) on Wurlitzer Piano. The tracks also features members from the Grand Necropolitan Quartet, such as Nick Allum (The Fatima Mansions, the Apartments), James Woodrow, Audrey Riley ( Lush, the Sundays, the Smiths, Nick Cave, The Cure, the Go-Betweens, Smashing Pumpkins, Catherine wheel, Molokai and Coldplay), Rhodri Marsden (Scritti Politti) just to name a few.

Coughlan’s latest production is called Telefis (the Irish Gaelic word for Television, pronounced Tele-feesh.), a collaboration with producer, mixer and composer Garret “Jacknife” Lee who has worked with U2, R.E.M. the Cars, The Killers, Crystal Castles and Taylor Swift etc.

Telefis released a single in 2021 called “Falun Gong Dancer.” More recently, the legendary post-punk bassist JAH WOBBLE. (Public Image Limited and Invaders of the Heart) teamed up with Telefis on “Falun Gong Dancer.”

Their anticipated debut album called “a hAon “ (Number One) scheduled to be released on February 11, 2022 will feature 13 highly unique tracks.

Sam Rosenthal, Founder of Projekt Records and Black Tape For A Blue Girl

The Cleft Serpent is the 13th album of Black Tape For A Blue Girl. The two-CD edition which is also available on vinyl, minidisc, cassette and digital format is one of Projekt Records' ' founder Sam Rosenthal's latest production.

Black Tape For A Blue Girl began over thirty years ago by Rosenthal's exploration of brooding extended electronics and strings meshed with deeply revealing lyrics and darkly textured, melodramatic vocal performances. The ethereal, gothic and dark ambient stylings has made the band one of the originators of the American darkwave genre. Rosenthal’s pensive electronics and revelatory songwriting has made fans of director David Lynch, former adult actress Sasha Grey, writers Poppy Z. Brite and Caitlín Rebekah Kiernan, just to name a few.

The latest album weaves the tale of the enigmatic Cleft Serpent, as we follow him through time and space within a lush, dark and sensual musical palette of string-hued Neo-Classicism. Hawaii Award Winning Artist, Ceramist and Sculptor, Joey Chiarello

Joey Chiarello is a self-taught artist. When he was a little boy growing up in Colorado, his older sister tricked him into thinking he was part Japanese. He believed it long enough that a teacher finally had to call in his parents to break the news that their son was no longer identifying as white. The artist's inner demons emerged in sculptural self-portraits styled after samurai and from Asian mythology.

Chiarello makes hollow, hand-built ceramic figurative sculptures from clay slabs. All work is fired to cone 6-7 or 2194 - 2219 degrees Fahrenheit in an electric kiln. He uses stoneware, porcelain and paper clay. The accenting use of steel for claws or bone for horns, adds completion, durability and even an element of danger.

He studied with Esther Shimazu of Honolulu, Hawaii and Sergei Isupov, and Michael Sherrill and under their tutelage he earned a scholarship through the Hawaii Craftsmen in 2004 and 2005.

Chiarello views his art career as a method of introspection and teaching as a part of his education. He has taught ceramic art classes at the Hawaii potters guild in Honolulu Hawaii and Seward park clay studio in Seattle Washington (2009-2011) and other places. Joey has been exhibiting work since 2003. His more recent shows include Mini SOFA inspired show at The Fine Art associates, Hawaii’s Modern Masters, Honolulu Japanese Chamber of commerce, Commitment to excellence Juried show, 2nd prize 3-D category, Honolulu Hawaii (2011), and “Homeward-bound” solo show at The Pacini Lubel Gallery Seattle (2010), just to name a few. Joey uses a wide range of age-old 2-D designs that includes a wide range of Native, Asian, folklore and spirituality as paintings, drawings and tattoos which inspire his 3-D ceramic interpretations. His art is also exhibited currently at the Downtown Art Center (1041 Nuuanu Ave, Second Floor).

Chiarello says, “Growing up, I have always had a great appreciation of the many forms and capabilities of the entire animal kingdom. I am captivated by the stillness of the instinctual nature of each diverse creature. When I give in, creatures seem to flow from my fingertips.”

Guitarist Patrick Ogle of Thanatos, Projekt Records

Thanatos began as a studio project between founder Patrick Ogle and Projekt record label founder Sam Rosenthal in the mid 80s in South Florida. They recorded together in 1993 THIS ENDLESS NIGHT INSIDE and 1995’s AN EMBASSY TO GAIUS. After that, Rosenthal focused on Projekt Records, while Ogle toured and recorded additional Thanatos albums with a full band.

Ogle released a full length album called “Covered Country” on November 26, 2021 featuring the lead single and video “Seminole Wind” originally by John Anderson. Ogle selected nine classic country tunes to deliver with just a mic-ed up parlor guitar and his bare-bones baritone vocals. This is “country” music performed by an artist often described as “goth.” You’d be hard-pressed to tell though, because these stark untreated renditions capture the passion of these songs defying genre classifications.

Prolific Composer, Songwriter and Producer, Robin Guthrie of The Cocteau Twins

Scottish musician, prolific composer and audio engineer, Robin Guthrie is one of the founders of the legendary band, The Cocteau Twins. Throughout the band’s history, Guthrie was the principal songwriter, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and handling most of the programming and effects. In addition to his ongoing work as a producer and engineer, his musical career included his collaboration with Siobhan de Mare and co-founding the band Violet Indiana. He also released several collaborative albums with the acclaimed ambient composer and pianist, the late Harold Budd as well as John Foxx from Ultravox and Mark Gardener (Ride) along with numerous film scores such as Gregg Araki’s “Mysterious Skin”2004 and “White Bird in a Blizzard” 2014 just to name a few.

Following the released of his EP in October called Mockingbird Love, his first full length instrumental album, his first album in nine years since “Fortune” is called “Pearldiving “ which is available via Soleil Après Minuit. He released another EP called "Riviera" on December 3, 2021 which is available on CD, as well as digital on all major streaming and listening platforms.

Vaselyne, Yvette Winkler and Frank Weyzig

Formed in 2011, Vaselyne is a collaboration between Dutch musicians, singer and songwriter Yvette Winkler and producer and composer Frank Weyzig.

Winkler co-founded the Dutch band "Sea of Souls" in 2006. She also collaborated with several musicians, one of which is CLAN OF XYMOX' Pieter Nooten from the album "Here is Why" in 2010. Weyzig is also one of the original members of Clan of Xymox from the first line up in 1985. He is also one of the founders of the Indie psychedelic alternative band Born For Bliss.

Vaselyne has since released four albums: Earthboard (2012), The Fire Within, their full-length debut album (2013), In Dreams (2015) and Fragile (2016). Recently signing up with the COP International record label, Vaselyne's latest single "Waiting to Exhale" mastered by Martin Bowes with solo violin performance by Einar Ihle is one of the singles from their forthcoming new album due to be released soon. The new album will include collaborations with Lynette Cerezo from Bestial Mouths, Searmanas, John Fryer (Black Needle Noise NIN, Prayers, This Mortal Coil and HIM) and Michael Aliani from Chiron/Ikon. One Woman Army, Chicago-based- I YA TOYAH

Chicago-based industrial, electronic, ONE WOMAN ARMY, I Ya Toyah blends the chaos and balance with a familiar vibe of industrial electronica sound. The meaning behind the name I Ya Toyah sustains these values- when spoken out loud. In Polish it means "It’s Just Me." Her logo art emerging from peace and anarchy symbols highlights the rebel psyche, her true nature. Her music is a fusion of smooth, cutting edge vocals, surreal guitars, hypnotizing beats and multiple electronic synth elements arising into dark arrangements that, combined with storytelling lyrics, respond to the paranoia of everyday reality.

I Ya Toyah released her self-written and produced debut album in 2018 called “Code Blue” which received immediate attention by the music industry. Detroits Electronic Rock Industrial Artist, Josie Pace and Producer Ken Roberts

Detroit’s electronic rock and industrial artist, Pace Josie and musician and her producer Ken Roberts released their new music and video “Pure Morning” featuring LA artist, Sammi Doll (Kat Von D/ IAMX) putting the spin on the iconic Placebo song.

Producer and Songwriter Ashkelon Sain from Trance To The Sun and Trance to the Moon

Multi-instrumentalist and primary songwriter and producer of the neo-psychedelic post punk band Trance to the Sun, Ashkelon Sain said the spirit of "Trance To The Sun" began in 1990. He said, “Our music is for the nocturnal environment, delivered in a trance-like state, made possible by the wealth of energy dealt to earth in the daytime by the sun.” The band released several albums, EPs, cassettes, CDs and compilations. Trance to the Sun has featured three full time vocalists: Zoe Wakefield, Dawn Wagner and Ingrid Blue. The band's recordings also included drummer Daniel Henderson and other guest musicians.

One of his collaborative works include two albums (Atlan and Eztica) with Tuvan throat singer, Soriah on Projekt Records which is described as a "shamanistic ritual art experience, one that documents Soriah’s explorations into his own ethnicity and heritage, amplified by the amazing soundscapes of Trance to the Sun guitarist Ashkelon Sain. Singer, songwriter and photographer, Attasalina

Singer, songwriter and photographer, Attasalina said her name is her birth name given by her godmother, a pioneer teacher of Buddhism in the West, and has been translated as “providing the meaning”. She describes her inspiration in her work as her work is "culturally informed by lineages in Theravada Buddhism and Indigenous Religion and Resistance Movements and focuses on visionary experiences as a quest for truth explored through personal narratives of oppression, awareness and survival."

Her musical abilities can be traced to her grandfather, a Cuban-American progressive jazz drummer and singer. Attasalina formed her first rock and roll band called "The Seraphim Rising" in 2008. Her first release was a collaboration with guitarist Daniel Ash of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets called “The Soldiers of Everyday” in 2010. The song is part of a limited edition CD called "Freedom I Love" released in 2016.

Attasalina also collaborated with the legendary producer John Fryer for Black Needle Noise with a song called "Messages By Dreams" released on the album "Before The Tears Came." More recently, they released another single for Black Needle Noise on COP International called “Machine” in June 2021.

Attasalina is currently working on a solo album and photography book called “Freed From Rage and Sorrow” which you can subscribed to on Patreon.

Legendary Producer John Fryer & Christian Petke, Founder of COP International

The legendary English record producer, John Fryer returns on the show and this time with the founder of COP International, Christian Petke.

John Fryer started his musical career working at Blackwing Studios in South London in the late 70s where he worked with some of the most prestigious indie labels at the time such as 4AD, Mute, Beggars Banquet, Rough Trade and more. Best known for the dream-pop music collective, This Mortal Coil, along with 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell, Fryer helped developed the pioneering ethereal and ambient sound of 4AD. Even after 4AD, Fryer's production credits extended decades working with renowned musicians and producing, engineering and mixing some of the biggest names and some of the most notable albums by Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Cocteau Twins, Yazoo, Love and Rockets, just to name a few. He launched his musical project called Black Needle Noise (BNN) in 2016 where he continues in the spirit of collaboration with various musicians. Christian Petke founded COP International in 1991 in San Francisco/Frankfurt to give a home to the emerging West Coast Industrial/Coldwave scenes. Within 6 months, COP INT created their German counterpart label 23Frankfurt (Trance, Techno, Chill, House)

Iconic Black Neo-Symbolist Photographer, John Santerineross

I'm happy to welcome back on the show, iconic black Neo-symbolist photographer John Santerineross. With a background in ceramics, sculpture and painting, he is also known for his dark, erotic images which has showcased both nationally and internationally. He was coined "the world's leading Neo-symbolist photographer" by PROFIFOTO, Germany's leading photography magazine. Sexcetera on Playboy TV which did a special feature on him and his work called him "A True Erotic Artist."

According to Santerineross, Neo -symbolism focuses on the spiritual, the subconscious and dreams. Under Black Symbolism, artwork is directly influenced by the darker aspect of the human psyche, the nightmares we try to suppress and the personal demons we all possess within ourselves. While the symbols remain personal and obscure, the focus is on the darker imagery of nightmares as opposed to the traditional dream imagery of the original art movement of Symbolism of the mid 19th century. Santerineross' complex aesthetic is derived from a combination of his exposure to Catholicism and Santeria, his fascination with Greek mythology and the subconscious ramifications of childhood trauma, world religion and iconography.

Toronto-based, TRAITRS was formed in 2015 by Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker. With a cinematic blend of post-punk, goth and alternative, their emotive melodies, propulsive rhythms, angular guitars and dark cinematic electronics quickly led to the duo becoming one of the dark music scene's fastest rising independent artist. Their lead single "Magdalene' from the preceding limited 10" vinyl "The Sick, Tired and Ill" spent 5 consecutive weeks at #1 on the German Alternative Charts (DAC).

Voidant is a new transatlantic downtempo electronic duo comprising of instrumentalist and guitarist David Wolfenden "Wolfie" and vocalist and songwriter Caroline Blind. Wolfie is best-known as the long-time guitarist for the highly influential UK post-punk band Red Lorry Yellow Lorry (est 1981), while his past credits also include The Mission, Expelaires and the Rose of Avalanche. Caroline is the front woman of popular tristate area gothic rock band Sunshine Blind (1991-2003), more recently known both for her solo output and for her collaborations with members of the Wake, the Mission, the Sisters of Mercy and many others. Voidant's self-titled debut album of the same name released in September 2021 was mixed and co-produced by Wolfie and Simon Ding Archer of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and 1919 and mastered by David Whitaker formerly of The Danse Society.

Los Angeles-based Alternative Rock Collective, Beauty in Chaos has released their newest single "Orion" along with a stunning otherworldly video, both of which features the captivating Whitney Tai.

Guitarist and founder of Beauty in Chaos is Michael Ciravolo. The LA-based New Orleans native is also the President and CEO of Schecter Guitar Research. He was one of the original members in Human Drama and played live and recorded with Michael Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel since 1998 along with Tish Ciravolo (Wife and founder of Daisy Rock Guitars).

Bridging a cosmic cross between Annie Lennox's timeless vocals and Kate Bush's Lyricism, NYC based award-winning singer- songwriter, architectural designer and creative director, Whitney Tai crafts unique pop-rock anthems and melodic synthpop passages. Emileigh Rohn and Jean-Marc Lederman have collaborated in a new album called Venus Chariot on COP International They initially released a powerful EP Called “Watch out” featuring remixes by EBM legend Claus Larsen AE of Leaether Strip, Tom Shear of Official Assemblage 23 and Mark Hockings of Mesh. The Darkwave Industrial duo Donna Lynch and Steven Archer- Ego Likeness

I spoke to the darkwave industrial duo from Baltimore, Maryland -Ego Likeness. Taking their name from Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction novel Dune, Ego Likeness was formed in 1999 by Steven Archer and Donna Lynch. They released their first and full-length album "Dragonfly" in 2000 which is available currently on #MetropolisRecords, followed by "Water to the Dead," in 2004 via Dancing Ferret Records. Their third album followed called "The Order of The Reptile" in 2006. Ego Likeness who's currently signed to Metropolis Records released their 4th Album, "Breedless" in 2010. Their full-length album "When The Wolves Return" was released in 2015 and "Songs From A Dead City" in 2018. Their albums and their latest EP "Wolves" 2020 are available on Metropolis Records

Donna is also an artist and writer who has written and published numerous poems and short stories, releasing two collections of poetry: 'In My Mouth' (2000) and 'Ladies & Other Vicious Creatures' (Raw Dog Screaming Press, 2007). Her first novel includes the acclaimed "Isabelle Burning" (2008) and a novella called "Driving Through the Desert" released on Thunderstorm Books in April 2012.

Steven whose musical projects include Hopeful Machines and Stoneburner (COP International) is also an accomplished visual artist and painter who showcases his paintings, sculpture, and mixed media pieces in various galleries, stores, conventions, and venues. He is the author and illustrator of a children's book, "Luna Maris" (Imaginary Books, 2008), and the graphic novel "Red King Black Rook". They have a beautiful hairless Sphynx cat name Sophie . Musician and Artist Steven Archer, Stoneburner and EgoLikeness

Musician and Artist, Steven Archer has a solo project called Stoneburner. The project’s name is taken from a weapon from the science fiction novel by Frank Herbert's "Dune." Stoneburner incorporates elements of experimental noise, industrial rock, ethereal, trip hop, and worldbeat.

Known as one of the founders of the darkwave/ electronic rock band, Ego Likeness and his electronica project ::Hopeful Machines:: Archer has also made a career in art and commission works, writing several books such as an illustrated version of Edgar Allen Poe's "Masque of the Red Death," which is on the preliminary ballot for the Stoker Award category for Excellence in a Graphic Novel and a children book called Luna Maris.

His new album is out now on COP International, produced and mixed by the legendary record producer John Fryer (4AD, This Mortal Coil ) called "Apex Predator".

Frontman and Founding Member of Pink Turns Blue, Mic Jogwer

Among the first generation of gothic rock in Germany, Pink Turns Blue was founded in Cologne in 1985 by Mic Jogwer (Lead vocalist, lyricist and bass), Tom Elbern (guitars) and Marcus Giltjes (drums). The band took its name after a Hüsker Dü song called "Pink Turns To Blue." Their first LP, "If Two Worlds Kiss," gave the new wave sound dark undertones, developing the sub-genre of darkwave and becoming a seminal album in the post-punk genre. Since their world tour from 2018 to 2020, the three-piece band has grown a global fan base with strongholds all over the world, including the US, Mexico, Germany, UK, and Brazil. Their single "Something Deep Inside" was used in Matthew Berkowitz’s thriller "The Madness Inside Me."

Their latest singles "You Still Mean Too Much To Me" "There Must Be So Much More" "Not Even Trying" and "So Why Not Save The World" will be available on their new album, "Tainted" which is set to be released on September 24, 2021 via OrdenRecords. It willalso be available digitally and in two physical formats - a CD with a 16-page booklet and on black vinyl, strictly limited to 500 copies, with an 8-page booklet. Andy Deane, Musician & Author, The Rain Within and Bella More

I spoke to musician, producer, author and vocalist for Bella More and The Rain Within, Andy Dean.

Founded in the 1990s, Bella Morte played an essential role in the revival of Gothic Rock in the US, releasing over 9 full-length albums and EPs. As one of the founders of Bella Morte, Andy's passion and love of all things horror has inspired him to write and publish 4 horror novels/novellas: "The Sticks" 2009, "The Third House" 2010, "All the Darkness in the World" 2011 and "No Turning Back in 2012.

Following the success of his solo project and the album, "Atomic Eyes", The Rain Within has returned and released a new song called "Forward in Reverse" which is heavily influenced by horror films that Andy fell in love with as a child. It is driven by repetitious, haunting melodies that call back spiritually the themes from the films of Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci and John Carpenter. Lyrically, the song is about trying to mend your heart and move forward before the weight of the world kills you.

Troy Payne, Founder and Lead Vocalist of the Wake

Post Punk band hailing from Columbus, Ohio, The Wake released their latest album called
Perfumes and Fripperies on Blaylox Records. I spoke to Troy Payne, one of the founding members of the Wake which he founded with high school buddy and guitarist of the Wake, Rich Witherspoon in 1986.

The Wake debuted their album Masked in 1993 via Cleopatra Records, "considered by many gothic rock fans as a landmark release" (Miranda Yardley, Terrorizer Magazine). Throughout their career, they have had many successful releases such as the memorable, "Sideshow," the AP Dance charting single, "Christine", "Nazarene" and "Nine Ways," just to name a few.
The band joined tour-dates supporting US industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy (1988), and indie-folk/dreampop trio The Innocence Mission (1989) while The Wake’s own headline shows were renowned for causing mayhem: either filling local club venues well beyond capacity, or attracting the Fire Department when excessive use of smoke machines spilled out into the streets.

Together with fellow bandmates bassist James Tramel, drummer Daniel C, Rich Witherspoon and Troy Payne, The Wake is positioned to help define a new decade of goth music with the release of Perfumes and Fripperies, their first full-length album in nearly 25 years .
Recorded over many months in different locations and various circumstances, the album will not disappoint long time fans and new fans. Perfumes and Fripperies has been called "both their best album to date" while also honoring their legacy with themes like isolation, unrequited love, madness, multiple personality disorder, purgatory, loss, and regret – the album’s lyrical content is decidedly dark and introspective and diverse.

Martin Bowes of Attrition, Pioneer in Darker Electronica Music and The Alibi

One of the pioneers in darker electronica music is ATTRITION. The man who has steered the band through the 40 year career, fueled by a succession of critically acclaimed albums is founder Martin Bowes.

Formed in 1980 in Coventry, England, Attrition is influenced by a mix of punk ideology and experimental art aesthetics. They emerged as part of the early 80s UK industrial scene alongside contemporaries such as Coil, Test Department, Legendary Pink Dots, Chris and Cosey, In the Nursery, Portion Control etc.

Martin’s increasing studio production work at his studio, The Cage, has included mixes for The Damage Manual (Martin Atkins, Jah Wobble, Geordie Walker, Chris Connelly et al...), Die Form, In the Nursery, Black tape for a Blue girl, Mona Mur/En Esch and mastering for countless bands and labels, including collaborations with Anni Hogan (known for her work with Marc Almond through the 80’s) and the legendary Wolfgang Flur (ex-Kraftwerk). He contributed synths and vocals on a song on the last Pigface album, is the narrators voice on US horror series, “C for Chaos”, has written the score to US horror film G.H.O.S.T from Mutantville productions and has mastered the latest album by Pieter Nooten and Marselle Hodges called Anonymity, just to name a few.

Attrition's current single is out now called The Alibi from the upcoming album, The Black Maria to be released this year on Two Gods label with accompanying video and remixes from Bellhead, Vaselyne, Steckdose and Follynator.

Scottish Producer, Author, Industrial Music Legend Chris Connelly

Scottish producer, author and Industrial music legend Chris Connelly has an extensive musical career and collaboration that spans four decades which started with his first band, FiniTribe to other industrial groups such as the Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Pigface, Damage Manual, PTP to newer collectives such as The Joy Thieves and Cocksure just to name a few. As an author, he released four books, encompassing the realms of poetry, autobiography and fictional narrative.

His latest production and collaboration is with Monica Queen, lead vocalist of the 90s band- Thrum. The new collaboration album, written by Connelly is called The Birthday Poems, released on Jnana Records last month, a fictionalized account of the romance between Scottish personalities and poet George Mackay Brown and his muse Stella Cartwright and their friend, Stanley Roger Green. All three were prominent figures in Scottish literature and culture since the 1950s who frequented the historical Rose Street Bars of Edinburgh.

Jules Maxwell, Irish Composer, songwriter & Keyboardist for Dead Can Dance

JULES MAXWELL is an Irish theatre composer, songwriter and keyboardist for the legendary-DEAD CAN DANCE (DCD). He has collaborated with lead vocalist of DCD, Lisa Gerrard on a new studio album called Burn, a seven track album produced by James Chapman via Atlantic Curve, a London-based label. Together Maxwell and Gerrard have commissioned seven films to accompany the music of the album. The first video is by Polish Director Jacob Chelkowski for the title track, Noyalain. Belgian Composer and Producer Jean-Marc Lederman

Prolific Belgian composer, producer, writer and musician, Jean-Marc Lederman has a long standing career in musical projects, movies and video games.

Lederman is known for his many projects and collaborations, a punk band called Streets in 1977, Digital Dance, Ghost and Writer, Kid Montana, the electro-pop project formed in 1981 with Dudley Kludt and the Weathermen in 1985 where he played keyboards and went under the name of Jimmy-Joe Snark III and Patricia Hearst along with the late Bruce Geduldig of Tuxedomoon on vocals. He has worked with iconic bands and artists playing with Fad Gadget, Gene Loves Jezebel, The The, and frontman of Front 242, Jean Luc De Meyer (Eleven Grinding Songs released on Alfa Matrix).

Among his many accomplishments, he has released an exclusive double CD and art books under the name of Jean-Marc Lederman Experience which he gathered singers from all over world to contribute voices to a common musical theme: 13 Ghost Stories in 2019 and Letters to God (And Fallen Angels) in 2020, which he collaborated with Emileigh Rohn (Chiasm), Tom Shear (Assemblage 23), Elena Alice Fossi (Kirlian Camera) JP Aston (Gene Loves Jezebel), Philippe Genion (a;GRUMH), Julianne Regan, Yvette Winkler, Claus Larsen (Leaether Strip), Jenna Fearon, Rodney Orpheus (the Cassandra Complex), Mark Hockings (Mesh), Stefan Netschio (Beborn Beton) just to name a few.

Marselle Hodges is the acclaimed vocalist and lyricist for the Seattle-based dreampop-noir band, The Blue Hour. I got a chance to ask Pieter Nooten some questions and here are his responses:

-Pieter, what are some of the influences in composing the music for these songs ?

I have been composing instrumental, ambient and neo-classical music for the last few years and really needed to create something more EDM sounding, without a copyist signature. I wanted vocals on these demos and started looking for a special voice, something original and authentic, without having to deal with all these ‘thirteen a dozen’ kind of r&b sounding singers. Marselle immediately came into mind.

-Are you happy with the album after it was completed and it is what you expected ?

When Marselle sent me her first vocal ideas I was over the moon and yes, relieved, for it sounded exactly what I had in mind. I instantly started sending her more material. The results were all spot-on and wonderfully original, heartfelt and authentic. My only worries were the initial mixes; they just did not sound good enough. I asked Brian Hodges if he would have a go at producing these tracks and he totally nailed it! So, even though the music was originally written by me, Marselle and Brian put the icing on the cake, so to speak. Marselle’s voice and lyrics are essential; it is af if we sat in the same room and created this material, Brian included. All our ideas just blended perfectly.

-Would you like to share any new inspirations or any new projects, concerts, collaboration, etc coming up for you ?

Concerts are still a bit difficult in this time and age, but I am more productive than ever! Alia Synesthesia, Multi-Instrumentalist, Operatic Singer, Cellist and Drummer

Alia Synesthesia is a multi-instrumentalist, trained operatic singer, neo-classical composer, cellist & drummer.

Although classically trained, her first musical exposure was to electronic music. Her music compositions defy genre, spanning from electronic dance music, industrial & sludge metal to dungeon synth, atmospheric, cinematic scores, and operatic works. Known for her beautiful deep mezzo-soprano voice and experimental distorted cello technique, Alia carries her unique, exotic sound across genres.

Alia released her first solo record titled Kingdoms Fall in 2017 under the project name Subterranea. Shortly after, two more records under different project names have followed, Banshee (2017), a synthmetal released, and DataVVitch (2018), released first as anonymous record. Ever since, Alia has been touring the world from Hawaii (2017) to New Zealand (2018) and Japan (2019) as a live member of industrial/darkwave UK pioneers
ATTRITION (Coventry, UK) and her neoclassical symphonic dungeon synth project Subterranea.

Alia’s compositions were featured in multiple compillations, including numerous CageStudios compillations (UK) and Brutal Resonance. She was featured on several releases by Di Auger (Toronto, Canada), and Etherial Delusions (Oregon, USA).

Currently, Alia’s discography consists of over 20 releases (EPs, Singles, Band Albums, Live Albums). Anhedonia, scheduled for release in July 2021, will be the first concept EP to be originally released under the name of Alia Synesthesia.

Electro-Industrial Recording Artist and Composer, Emileigh Rohn and Chiasm

Chiasm, pronounced as the greek letter X, /kai/, rhyming with sky, then "asm" is an industrial-influenced electronic solo music project of Detroit-based musician, Emileigh Rohn. The name Chiasm or the optic Chiasm is a neuronal brain structure shaped as an "X" that allows people to have continuous and peripheral vision. The name was chosen because of her dedication, love and passion and full-time career in science and molecular biology.

Chiasm is known for cultivating lush, eclectic, eerily dystopian sonic landscapes with delicately balanced vocals for over 20 years. All of her previous releases had been self-written, programmed, performed and produced in her Michigan studio, the MausHaus. Her self-released first demo album, "Embryonic" in 1998 was discovered by COP International in 1999, who have released her material since then. She has contributed to several compilation releases, collaborated with numerous artists and performed dozens of shows through the early 2000s alongside many well-known industrial acts. Her song "Isolated" featured on her album "Disorder" (2001) was on the Vampire the Masquerade, "Bloodlines" PC game or in the Navy:NCIS episode, "Marine Down."

She also released the albums the Chiasm vs. TL5 remix collection, "Divided We Fall: The Remix Collection" (2003), "Relapse" (2005), "Prefrontal" (EP 2006), "Reform" (2008), "Apple Island" (EP 2009), "Obligatory" (EP2012), "11:11" (2012), "Mice On A Wheel" (EP 2016) "In Hiding" (EP 2019), and her full-length solo album "Reset" (2019). Her most current full album collaboration is with the legendary John Fryer (4AD, BLACK NEEDLE NOISE) called "Missed the Noise" (March 2021) and several EPs both on COP International Records. She has collaborated with Jean-Marc Lederman for their album "Venus Chariot" to be released very soon.

Record Producer, Musician and L.A. Punk Legend Paul Roessler

Record Producer, Musician and L.A. Punk Legend, Paul Roessler was a former member and played keyboards for the Screamers, 45 Grave, Nervous Gender, Josie Cotton, Geza X, the Deadbeats, Twisted Roots and Nina Hagen and many others. Joining the Nina Hagen Band he also produced Nina Hagen's gospel album, Personal Jesus and toured with her-The Return of the Mother and co-wrote the song "Antiworld," from one of Nina Hagen's most successful albums, NunSexMonkRock.

Roessler also released solo projects: Abominable, 12 Steppers and the Dead Junkies, 6/12, Match Girl, The Arc and produced some of the albums of the Barbarellatones and many more.

He continues to write music and produced them, along with music for other artists at the
Kitten Robot Studios and started a new record label called Kitten Robot Records. He is also the brother of Kira Roessler, the former bassist for the influential hard core punk band Black Flag. Roessler is working on a new album to be called "The Turning of the Bright World" scheduled to be released next year.

Coyote Shivers, actor and singer from the 1995 Cult Classic Film, Empire Records (Rex Manning Day)

I chatted with Coyote Shivers from the 1995 cult classic film, Empire Records.

Coyote who played "Berko" in the film directed by Allan Moyle will be in Hawaii to celebrate the yearly event called "REX MANNING DAY" on April 8, 2021. The event will take place at the The Equus Hotel (1696 Ala Moana Blvd) in Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii and it will feature a special dinner, a screening of the film and a Q&A session with Coyote after the film about his role, the process, and anything you want to know about Empire Records Lore.

Due to Covid19, please bring masks and wear them while not seated at the table. Proper spatial seating shall also be in place. This is a very small & intimate cinematic experience. There are only 15 seats available. No extra seats will be available at the door if we sell out, so please purchase in advance.

Producer, Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist and Vocalist Anders Manga aka Bloody Hammers

From Darkwave to doom metal, producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Anders Manga who also goes by the name of Bloody Hammers, his other project that he created with his wife Devallia in 2010 was my guest.

Residing in the Transylvania Country on the mountains of Charlotte, North Carolina, Anders Manga is a self-taught musician who learned the bass guitar at 11-years old.

Inspired by horror films, Gary Numan, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, the Misfits and Nick Cave, just to name a few, his first release was under the name "Coffin Moth" in 1997, a deathrock music project.

His song "Glamour" was featured in Season 4 Episode of the #VampireDiaries. He has also produced another project inspired by horror soundtracks called Terrortron which was featured on the #RueMorgueMagazine compilation titled "They came from Rue Morgue."

Releasing 8 solo albums under Anders Manga, on January 2020, he released the latest, "Andromeda." As one of the frontrunners in the goth/doom metal genre, "Songs of Unspeakable Terror" is Bloody Hammers 6th album which was just released in January 2021 on Napalm Records .

Dream Pop- Noir, The Blue Hour, Brian and Marselle Hodges

I spoke to Brian Hodges and Marselle Hodges of the Blue Hour, a Seattle-based duo that blends ethereal and electronic music resulting in a beautiful haunting dream pop-noir. They met during the heyday of Seattle's new wave explosion in the 80s during its most magical time.

Prior to forming the Blue Hour, Brian was the keyboardist for the cult goth-rock band, Black Atmosphere, a band formed by Xstoph Gladis, a former guitarist for ChristianDeath. Black Atmosphere was a legendary live act combining theatrics with a psychedelic / glam-gothic appearance and the occasional acrobat and fire eater. Black Atmosphere was featured on several compilations from Cleopatra Records and shared the stage with many luminaries from there gothic and industrial scene.

Prior to joining the Blue Hour, Marselle was the lead vocalist for the dark metal band Crypt Orchid. She has provided vocals and voice-overs for commercial recordings and guest vocals for several electronic dance and industrial projects, including John Fryer’s BLACK NEEDLE NOISE and singing backup vocal’s for Chris Connelly’s track “Dark Skies.” Marselle recently completed an album of dreamy electronic music with Pieter Nooten of 4AD/Clan of Xymox fame. The release date is coming soon.

The Blue Hour is preparing to release its latest album, called “Lore,” later this Spring on Dark Vinyl. The lead single is the dark anthem, “Cold & Bare,” on which the Blue Hour is joined by Barry Galvin on guitar (Mephisto Walz/Christian Death) and Michael Louis (Shadow Assembly) on bass, guitar and additional drums.
