Yet Jesus demonstrates that He is more than powerful enough to overcome an entire army of demons, and compassionate enough to pursue the person everyone else had abandoned.

Because Jesus is the Son of God, He has both the power and the compassion to save. He alone can free us from the power of sin and death, cleanse what is unclean, restore what is broken, and bring the hopeless back to life.

But the story doesn't end with this man's deliverance. Jesus sends him home with a mission: “Tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” For those who have been rescued by Christ, our salvation isn't meant to be hidden. We have been delivered to proclaim what He has done.

Jesus has the power to save, and He has the compassion to save. The question is: have you experienced His rescue—and are you willing to tell others?
