After more than a decade of photographing weddings, we’ve watched a LOT of things not go according to plan. Rain happens. Timelines run late. Pinterest lies. Traditions get skipped.

And you know what? People still get married. The party still happens. And some of the best moments come from the stuff nobody planned in the first place.

So we're talking about the things couples put an enormous amount of pressure on themselves to get “right,” what actually matters once the wedding day arrives, and why we're officially giving you permission to do whatever the hell you want with your own wedding.

Turns out, the things that make a wedding meaningful are rarely the things you can control perfectly.

In the very first episode of Off the Shot List, we’re talking about how the hell we ended up here—from building a photography business and working together as a married couple to raising kids, homeschooling, traveling, rock climbing, and somehow deciding the obvious next step was starting a podcast.

We talk about how photography became our shared career, the weird little life we’ve built along the way, why we wanted a place to talk about more than weddings, and what exactly Off the Shot List means to us.

Mostly, though, this is your introduction to us outside of the polished photographs and Instagram squares.
