We talk about becoming a father to twin boys, and what that's taught me about leadership and legacy. Life, work, and a good dose of overthinking got in the way more times than I can count. But here we are, episode one, and I couldn't be happier to finally get it out into the world.

This first episode is me, on my own, explaining what HPPT is and why it exists.

It started with a wristband. Almost twenty years ago, a mentor of mine, Mike, asked me a simple question: what's the most important thing in your life? I gave the answer everyone gives. Family. He told me I was wrong. If you're not healthy, he said, you can't actually show up for any of them. That one conversation reordered everything for me, and it's stuck ever since: Health, People, Places, Things, in that order. It's been on my wrist since not long after that conversation.

I've had to relearn that lesson more than once, through losing my best mate when I was eleven, through a business that nearly broke me, through years of pouring myself into work while life faded into the background. Resilience got me through a lot of it. It also cost me more than I realised at the time.

This isn't a business podcast. It's not a self-help podcast either, though I suspect some of what comes up will feel like both at times. What it is, is long form, honest conversations with people who've actually lived something: how our health carries us, how our people shape us, how the places and experiences we move through mark us, and how the things we build (or let go of) along the way come to define us.

No script. No agenda. Just me, some people worth listening to, and whatever we find when we slow down enough to talk.

Coming up: conversations with fellow podcaster Becky, my oldest mate Eddie, and a guy named Jeff who proves that being an outlier isn't something to fix. It might be the whole point.

I'd love to hear what you think, and who you'd want to hear on the show. This is just the beginning.

Health. People. Places.
