In this episode of Beauty for Ashes, we discuss two silencing impurities on the path to purity — shame and guilt. Though they are often felt together, they are not the same. Shame says I am something wrong. Guilt asks did I do something wrong? And both — whether self-inflicted or placed on us by others — can become a burden too heavy to bear alone.

We explore where shame and guilt come from, how they feed each other, and what happens when they go unaddressed. But more importantly — we look at what God says about both. Through the story of the Samaritan woman at the well, we are reminded that Jesus is intentional about you. He already knows your story. He is waiting for you at the well — in a safe place — to have an honest conversation and exchange regarding whatever you are carrying for exchange of living water.
