Look, we’ve all been there. You finally find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. Your khitbah is hard, filled with tests, obstacles, and pressure from every direction. You cannot help but imagine how much easier life will become once you finally marry the person you love.

So you get married—and then a whole new set of problems appears.

Your relationship is no longer being threatened by your parents, their parents, or the obstacles keeping you apart. Now, the problem is that neither of you really knows what you’re doing. No one taught you how to build a healthy marriage, meet each other’s needs, or handle the weight of real life together. Suddenly, these new struggles can feel even heavier than the ones you faced before marriage.

Trust us—we’ve been there.

We made du’a day and night, asking Allah to help us protect our love, strengthen our lives, and keep our deen at the center of our marriage. Then one day, things began to click—not because all our problems disappeared, but because we decided to take responsibility for building the marriage we wanted.

We discovered shortcuts and learned when it was actually okay to use them. We learned how to meet each other’s needs, filter out bad advice, communicate through difficult moments, and face hardship as a team instead of turning against each other.

We are not here to lecture you about what it means to be the perfect husband or wife. We are not scholars or marriage therapists. We are simply a Muslim couple sharing our story, the lessons we learned, the mistakes we made, and the things that genuinely helped our marriage grow.

You are not alone—and our stories will prove it.

Join Zayd and Faatimah each week as we tackle the real issues Muslim couples face in love, deen, and everyday life. We hope our experiences can help you—and maybe one day, insha’Allah, we will get to hear your story too.
