On This Week's Episode 
This wee, I'm hanging out in the van with Noch Down. A group of 18-20 year old musicians from Orlando bringing hardcore and groove metal influences to Florida's heavy scene. 

Before we can even make it through introductions, we get sidetracked by the proper pronunciation of Noch Down. From there, things don't get much more serious. We get into food options bad enough to potentially get someone kicked out of the band, who everyone is calling first if they end up in jail, and the ultimate test of band loyalty: who would sell everyone else out for $1 million? 

Some answers came quickly. Others probably required a little more editing. 😅

About Category-3

Category-3 is an Orlando, Florida-based nu-metal band blending the raw intensity of nu-metal with elements of rock and hip-hop.

The band released their debut single, “Move,” in 2024 and has continued building their catalog with songs including “Tasting Pavement,” “In Your House,” and “Pushback” as they prepare for their first full-length album, planned for 2026.

With heavy riffs, thunderous drums, rhythmic flows, and guttural vocals, Category-3 creates a sound that is aggressive, energetic, and anthemic. The band has performed throughout Central and Northern Florida, including Jacksonville, Melbourne, Lakeland, and Cocoa Beach, with more shows planned throughout 2026.

Category-3 is comprised of KC on vocals, Mike on guitar, Scotty on bass, and Justin on drums.

About the Band

Moth Bite is a two-piece band from Bradenton, Florida, blending colorful jazz-inspired voicing, infectious melodies crushing riffs, and dynamic percussion into a surprisingly massive sound. Their unique approach creates a sonic experience that feels far bigger than two musicians on stage. 

Consisting of guitarist Nico Sanchez and drummer Jeremiah Alexander, Moth Bite has been active since July 2022 and has quickly built a loyal following while performing across Florida. Their live sets feature songs from their self-titled debut, Grey Matter, and even spontaneous improvisations that make every performance feel unique. 

Natural, raw, and relentlessly creative, Moth Bite proves that sometimes the biggest sound comes from the smallest lineup.

Welcome to the very first episode of Bands In The Van!

Bands in the Van is a podcast and video series dedicated to shining a spotlight on emerging bands from the heavy music scene. Each episode is recorded inside a camper van, where conversation go beyond the music to explore the personalities, stories, and experiences behind the bands.

This week, Tara sits down with Spiritual Chaos to talk about their music, life on the local scene, and everything in between. From serious conversations to unexpected laughs, it's the first ride in the van....and the beginning of many more to come. 

About the band

SPIRITUAL CHAOS is an American Metal band based right out of the heart of Tampa, Florida. Formed in Spring of 2022, the band has since released two EPs, "Beyond Language" (2023) and their most recent work "Desolate Dreams" (2024). Unbound and unbothered by the formulaic industry standards, SPIRITUAL CHAOS uniquely blends thought-provoking lyrical ideas with heartfelt aggression, technical prowess, emotionally driven melody, and hook catching grooves into songs that not only speak true to who they are as musicians, but provide something of meaning for audiences alike. With powerful sounds and charismatic live performances, they offer something new and refreshing for people to enjoy.

In an effort to bring unity within a disconnected world, SPIRITUAL CHAOS reminds us that we all share something in common, the human experience. With two EPs now under their belt, they're only getting started and are set to be a powerhouse worthy of your attention.
