That phrase may sound familiar if you grew up in church or have read the Sermon on the Mount, but sometimes familiar Scriptures can become so familiar that we stop letting them examine us. Jesus did not say, “Try to become salt and light one day.” He said, “You are the salt of the earth” and “You are the light of the world.” This isn’t just a nice Christian saying to slap on a bumper sticker. It’s an identity statement. It is a calling. But most importantly, it’s an invitation.</p>]]></content:encoded>
