Houghton Festival has dropped its 2026 lineup, and among the first-timers this year are CCL, livwutang, and Gabrielle Kwarteng — three names making their Houghton debut this summer. Always worth watching who gets their first invitation to that particular party. The Rave Preservation Project is growing. The digital archive has now passed 40,000 items — flyers, posters, artwork, the physical record of rave culture — and they've expanded with a new directory and discovery tools to help people actually find their way through it. If you've ever wanted to fall down a rabbit hole of rave history, the tools are apparently getting better. Bae Bae makes her Planet Mu debut with an EP called *Gauze*, and there's real weight behind it. The record was made in response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza, drawing on her own productions alongside real-world recordings from Palestine. The lead track is called 'Still Believe.' Gareth Emery has launched a new label called Emotional Intelligence Records, and he's been very deliberate about one thing: no AI. The label launches under his LSR/CITY project with a debut single called 'Burn It Down.' Human-only. Records of the week come from Fantastic Man on Axis of People, Forest Drive West on Delsin, Marco Passarani on Studiomaster, Moodymann on Defected, and Sepehr on Kapsela. The Ibiza Global Festival 2026 full line-up has been revealed with among others : Deep Dish, R3hab, and Patrick Topping. Carl Cox has confirmed a DJ set at Croatia's Cave Romane, the ancient 2,000-year-old quarry venue that's become one of the most dramatic settings in European clubbing. Amelie Lens is set to headline the same venue earlier in the summer. Meanwhile, the Carl Cox Invites series is extending its reach into the autumn, with Milano lined up for a massive summer closing as the season winds down after its September peak. Thomas Bangalter dropped a surprise set at Brooklyn's Lot Radio — one hour fifteen minutes, weaving in cuts from his Mirage project alongside Burial and Aphex Twin, and closing the whole thing out with Daft Punk's Contact. No announcement, no build-up. Just Bangalter doing Bangalter things. Prospa have released their debut album Free Your Mind on CircoLoco Records — making it the label's first ever full-length release. That's a significant moment for a label that's been one of the more consistent forces in underground house and techno. No Bounds Festival has revealed its line-up for the 2026 edition — the ninth — taking place October 9th to 11th across ten venues between Sheffield and Rotherham, Healiners includes Max Cooper, Blawan, Mala and Oppidan. Madonna has released Confessions II — The Film, a 14-minute short threading together six tracks from her upcoming album. The cast includes Honey Dijon, Cole Palmer, Arca, and a range of actors, musicians, models and artists. Worth a watch. On the remix front, Rocco Rodamaal has turned Fiona Kraft's Dreams into something built for the late hours — out now on her label NON MERCI MUSIC. And finally, the phone ban debate is back. John Summit launched his Experts Only residency at UNIVERS Ibiza, and FUSE has dropped its line-ups for three consecutive Sundays at 528 Ibiza. Both are worth keeping a close eye on as the season heats up. Over in Manchester, a new event series called Escapism is launching this October, debuting at Victoria Baths on the 10th. It's being described as a grown-up, immersive daytime experience, and it opens with Deep Dish. Victoria Baths is a genuinely stunning space, so that one has real potential. On new music — Kapuchon, also known as Afrojack, has dropped another excellent track on Hot Creations. It's called Secret Moves. Worth your time. Refraction Records has a new EP incoming from Havsmörker called Ilväder. The lead track premiering now is Nordanväderslyckan — a name taken from an old Scandinavian word — and the record is described as steeped in the atmosphere of the Nordic coastline. Minneapolis marked ten years since Prince's passing last week, with thousands of fans travelling from around the world for the 10th Anniversary Prince Celebration at Paisley Park, running June 3rd through 7th. Five days of tribute to one of music's most singular figures. And finally, The Dancefloor Archive has been doing the quiet work of documenting club culture at a time when a night out is more likely to be remembered through fifteen-second clips than anything lasting. Two Ibiza stories to kick things off. Anjunadeep is bringing its melodic house operation to Chinois inside the Ibiza Gran Hotel for a four-date Tuesday residency. June 23rd opens with Eli & Fur, James Grant, Nicky Elisabeth, and Rezident. June 30th brings 16BL, Because of Art, Jody Wisternoff, and Natascha Polke. Two further dates follow on September 8th and 15th. A considered lineup, a considered venue — Anjunadeep doing what it does.

Also confirmed for the island this summer: Bora Bora Ibiza is officially back at Playa Soleil on Playa d'en Bossa, with Sunwaves, Hot Creations, Cécille, Bresh, and NuSuN all part of the programme across the week.

Over to Paris — Vintage Culture has released Together We Are Free via Cercle Records, a collaboration with Eddie Thoneick and UK vocalist Kyozo. The track was premiered live as the closing set at Cercle Festival 2026 at the National Air and Space Museum of France, with Kyozo performing on stage.

Grammy-nominated South African spoken-word artist Lazarusman is back with a new album called Skin — a deeply personal exploration of identity featuring collaborations with Stimming, FKA Mash, Dwson, Johannes Brecht, Zito Mowa, and several others.

Tresor Foundation in Berlin has announced the first Global Edition of its Tresor Academy — the Academy of Subcultural Understanding — opening up its mentoring and education programme to aspiring club makers from around the world for the first time.

The Night Time Industries Association has published an open letter urging the UK government to formally recognise nightclubs as cultural institutions. Their words: "The UK should not find itself behind the curve on an issue it helped define."

Finally, a couple of features worth your time: Decoded Magazine has an exclusive mix and interview with New York underground veteran John Creamer, and this week's Five on Friday hands over to Deal-based producer and DJ Faebop.

Starting with music, and a couple of reviews worth your attention. Out today, GiGi FM drops a new single-EP called *Shelter Our Time*. Also a new album from Beatrice M. titled *Sinking* — an albums-category release, so a fuller body of work to dig into there.

On the more leftfield side of things, a posthumous collaborative record from Lee "Scratch" Perry and German electronic duo Mouse on Mars has surfaced — titled *Spatial, No Problem.* The record draws on the late dub pioneer's voice, and by all accounts it lifts the project to what's being described as an eerie kind of joy.

Over in the world of house, Solardo have landed on Defected with a new release called "Forever," which dropped on May 22nd. It's their first original for the label, and it deepens a relationship that started when the Manchester duo played Defected's Pacha Ibiza residency in 2025.

A couple of premieres worth flagging. Kamil Ghaouti has a track called "Loose" — notable because after more than eleven years of releasing music, this is the first time Ghaouti has put his own voice on one of his records. Also premiering today, a Mac Seldom remix of Nathan Fake's "Hypercube," drawn from Fake's album *Evaporator*, released on InFiné back in February.

Finally Before we wrap up, here's what defined the week in dance music.

Two stories stood out this week for what they say about the direction of the scene. First, Pacha New York is officially opening in Brooklyn later this month — the iconic brand framing it as a new era of nightlife. Let's start with some Ibiza energy crossing the Atlantic — Pacha is coming to Brooklyn. Pacha New York is officially opening in Brooklyn later this month, and the iconic brand is billing it as a new era of nightlife. No further details yet on the full programme, but if Pacha's Ibiza DNA makes the journey intact, it'll be one to watch closely.

Staying with festival news — Tomorrowland has topped a new SeatPick ranking of the most anticipated festivals worldwide, beating out Coachella and Lollapalooza based on Google search volume. Make of that what you will, but the numbers don't lie.

CRSSD Festival has dropped its fall 2026 lineup, returning to Waterfront Park in San Diego on September 26th and 27th. The bill includes Carlita, Chris Lake, Ben UFO, horsegiirl, Helena Hauff, Kettama, Mochakk, Prospa, and Sonny Federa among others. Solid lineup for one of North America's more credible electronic music events.

Sónar 2026 is shaping up to be a genuinely significant edition. The avant-garde Barcelona festival is returning completely reimagined — every stage redesigned, the whole event under one roof. One venue, six redesigned stages.

Now some sad news from San Francisco. Ira Sandler, founder of legendary venue 1015 Folsom and a true veteran of the city's nightlife scene, has passed away at the age of 73. A genuinely important figure in the history of American club culture.

OLING's Get On The Floor EP has landed on Sasha's Last Night On Earth label, marking the Scandinavian producer's debut on the imprint. It's a stripped, rhythm-led release, and by all accounts a natural fit. OLING has been building his sound since his first Aves EP on Jeremy Olander's Vivrant imprint back in 2021.

Traumprinz is back on vinyl. The enigmatic Hannover-based producer is finally pressing his Life project to wax — his first physical release since Diva in 2016. Nearly a decade. Worth the wait if you're a fan of the enigmatic end of the underground.

A remarkable piece of rave history is heading to auction. Rob Ford's 35-year Members Only archive of UK rave membership cards goes under the hammer at Bonhams between June 15th and 25th, with an estimate of 60 to 80 thousand pounds. Thirty-five years of physical rave culture, in one collection.

The Ministry of Sound is getting the book treatment. Ministry of Sound: Anthology is a new 416-page hardcover documenting the London club's formative years — the first time its story has been told in this format. That's a lot of history to fit between two covers.

And because this industry never stops surprising — Hermès has built a DJ booth. A working, purchasable DJ booth, wrapped in leather. Yes, really.

Ibiza first, as always. Amnesia is turning fifty this year, and they're marking the milestone properly. The White Isle institution has just dropped the full 2026 Pyramid line-up, and it's a serious one — Amelie Lens and Jeff Mills among the names confirmed. Fifty years of Amnesia is no small thing. That room has shaped what club culture looks like globally, and pulling together a bill like this for the anniversary feels right. Watch that one closely as the season builds.

Now over to Germany, where there's some genuinely significant news for the wider club world. The German government is moving to recognise nightclubs as cultural venues under new planning reforms. The legislation is designed to better protect clubs from predatory real estate developers, rising rents, and evictions — the same pressures that have been quietly strangling club culture in cities across Europe for years. Germany has long been the standard-bearer here — Berlin obviously, but beyond that too — and if this legislation lands properly, it could set a precedent other countries should be paying close attention to. Huge deal, quietly underreported.

Sticking with festivals, Sónar 2026 is shaping up to be something special — and quite different. The Barcelona avant-garde institution has gone back to the drawing board entirely, with every stage redesigned and the whole festival brought under one roof. One venue, six redesigned stages, rebuilt from scratch. That's a bold move for a festival with thirty-plus years of identity baked in. Whether that pays off or creates a new kind of magic, we'll find out soon enough.

EXIT Festival is also making moves on a genuinely epic scale — the three-time European Best Major Festival winner is launching Starlight Festival this October, a brand-new multi-day concept at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. Dance music at the pyramids. That sentence doesn't need any more context, does it.

Also worth a mention: CRSSD Festival has unveiled its Fall 2026 line-up for San Diego's Waterfront Park — Skepta Más Tiempo, Ben UFO, VTSS and Marlon Hoffstadt among the names. Solid, forward-thinking bill as you'd expect from CRSSD.

And finally — Traumprinz is back on wax. The enigmatic Hannover producer, nearly a decade since his last physical release, is pressing Life to vinyl. If you know the name, you already know why this matters. If you don't — go find out.
