With warmer weather bringing more families out to parks, trails, and roadways, we focused on helping residents better understand what truly qualifies as an e-bike under state law—and why that distinction matters. Many parents may have purchased bikes that look like e-bikes but don’t meet the legal definition or classification requirements, which can impact where and how they can be ridden.

During the episode, we break down:

  • 🚴 The legal definition and classifications of e-bikes
  • 🚴 What riders can and cannot do if their bike doesn’t meet those standards
  • 🚴 Where e-bikes are permitted to be ridden locally
  • 🚴 Key safety considerations for riders of all ages
