3 Doves Podcast is a weekly space for honest faith, thoughtful reflection, and real-life conversations rooted in Scripture. Each episode features genuine people sharing real stories of how God met them, carried them, and transformed their lives. We explore what it means to walk with God in the middle of everyday life—our work, relationships, struggles, doubts, growth, and calling. These are conversations about faith lived out, not cleaned up. About grace in the process, not perfection on display.

Searching for peace through art, the library, philosophy, yoga, and Buddhism, he later had a vision at 20 that led him to pursue Jesus, examine the historical reliability of the Bible, and wrestle with division in the modern church versus true discipleship. Jesus describes an immediate transformation—leaving drugs, pursuing holiness, and calling his family to faith—eventually witnessing widespread conversion in his family and even leading his abuser to Christ, while acknowledging ongoing healing. He emphasizes that God’s call is not “mission” but daily obedience, practiced through listening, Sabbath, and surrender.

Support the show

All rights reserved by 3 Doves Ministry, 3 Doves Podcast and 2 True Interactive, Inc.

Their rental car entered a blinking-light intersection, was struck on the passenger side by a heavier vehicle, slammed into a wooden telephone pole, and ended in a ditch; a nearby officer’s quick response and even an ER doctor monitoring police radio are described as crucial. Rachel, seated behind Wayne, says she saw the oncoming car, pulled Emma away from the door, and absorbed the impact, suffering severe head trauma; Emma later had a displaced femur fracture and memory gaps. Rachel was flown as a trauma alert to South Bend while Emma and Michelle went to a local ER and later Grand Rapids, with dead phones and the family separated until Emma was transferred back near Rachel. Wayne recounts Rachel nearly being lost multiple times, a Tuesday CT scan showing worsening swelling, and a “hail Mary” surgery where doctors later reported unexpected improvement, as prayer “warriors” mobilized and Wayne forgave the driver to avoid hindering prayer. Rachel reports dying up to six times, meeting Jesus in heaven, seeing angels, trees, clouds, a skyscraper-like place for learning about family on earth, and her healed healthy looking grandparents, and asking Jesus to help her family forgive the people who caused it. Sixteen months later, Rachel describes major recovery, regained memories (including her wedding), and ongoing healing, while the family emphasizes God’s timing, provision, and faith through trauma. He says a YouVersion Bible app notification reminded him God saw him, God Loves him, and he later committed his life to Jesus during sixth grade as he prepared to testify in court for the termination of his parents’ rights, supported by Christians praying over him; he cites Galatians 2:20 and shares he is now pursuing ministry.

Caleb shares that although raised in a Christian household, he sought acceptance in middle school, fell into partying and unhealthy situations in eighth grade, and was convicted when someone asked him about Jesus while he wasn’t living like a Christian. Justin shares his remarkable journey from being a troubled high school senior—stealing car stereos and rejecting God—to experiencing a life-altering encounter with Jesus in 1999 through a friend’s persistence and a simple game of basketball. That moment marked the beginning of a radical transformation that would reshape the direction of his life.

Justin also opens up about the impact of reconciliation with his father, who came to faith the same year. He reflects on a defining moment when his dad prayed over him and spoke 1 John 2 into his life—an act that became a turning point and helped solidify his calling and future ministry. From there, the conversation traces the unexpected birth of a cycling ministry, beginning with a challenge to ride a bike 300 miles to Key West despite weighing 268 pounds and openly disliking cycling. That single act of obedience sparked a movement that has since cycled in all 50 states and raised over $1.7 million to support and mobilize youth around the world.

Throughout the episode, Justin shares what it looks like to live missionally in everyday life—from initially refusing to go on a mission trip to Mexico to experiencing God’s persistent calling through unexpected moments, even in a laundry room. This episode highlights a central truth: God can use our passions, hobbies, and willingness to say yes—whether through cycling, surfing, or hiking—to carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Be sure to tune in next week for Part 2, where the conversation continues with a deeper focus on biblical manhood and fatherhood.

Support the show

All rights reserved by 3 Doves Ministry, 3 Doves Podcast and 2 True Interactive, Inc.

Even after a radical conversion to faith, he found himself trying to "earn" God’s favor through religious activity and strict performance. It wasn't until his life faced a total collapse—marked by betrayal, divorce, and loss—that he heard the transformative call of Psalm 46:10: "Be still and know that I am God." This stillness became his anchor, preventing a downward spiral and teaching him what it truly means to be "covered" by God’s grace.

Divine Protection on the Front LinesJosh recounts harrowing stories from his time as a police officer, where the line between life and death was razor-thin. It’s about the unseen grind, the seasons of pressure, and the moments when growth feels more like breaking than building.
