His search for meaning eventually pulled him into self-help philosophies, New Age spirituality, rituals, and psychedelic experiences with ayahuasca. What began as a search for enlightenment slowly led him deeper into darkness.

But God was still pursuing him. Through supernatural moments, repeated encounters, and the unmistakable call of Jesus, Mario began a journey out of deception and into truth. In this powerful conversation, he opens up about fear, identity, spiritual warfare, forgiveness, and how the grace of God transformed his life.

Jesus describes an immediate transformation—leaving drugs, pursuing holiness, and calling his family to faith—eventually witnessing widespread conversion in his family and even leading his abuser to Christ, while acknowledging ongoing healing. He emphasizes that God’s call is not “mission” but daily obedience, practiced through listening, Sabbath, and surrender.

He shares how thousands of people and churches prayed, how he intentionally forgave the driver to avoid hindering prayer, and how family members and hospital staff experienced encouragement and healing through prayer and confession (James 5:16). Wayne also recounts earlier trials with infertility, Rachel’s high-risk pregnancy, and personal struggles, emphasizing faith over fear, staying “in the day,” and urging men to lead spiritually through prayer, Scripture, and consistent living.

Host Jason Pawloski interviews Wayne and Michelle Schwartz and their daughters, Emma and Rachel, about an Oct. 13 car crash in rural Michigan after a nephew’s wedding. Their rental car entered a blinking-light intersection, was struck on the passenger side by a heavier vehicle, slammed into a wooden telephone pole, and ended in a ditch; a nearby officer’s quick response and even an ER doctor monitoring police radio are described as crucial. Rachel, seated behind Wayne, says she saw the oncoming car, pulled Emma away from the door, and absorbed the impact, suffering severe head trauma; Emma later had a displaced femur fracture and memory gaps. Rachel was flown as a trauma alert to South Bend while Emma and Michelle went to a local ER and later Grand Rapids, with dead phones and the family separated until Emma was transferred back near Rachel. Wayne recounts Rachel nearly being lost multiple times, a Tuesday CT scan showing worsening swelling, and a “hail Mary” surgery where doctors later reported unexpected improvement, as prayer “warriors” mobilized and Wayne forgave the driver to avoid hindering prayer. Rachel reports dying up to six times, meeting Jesus in heaven, seeing angels, trees, clouds, a skyscraper-like place for learning about family on earth, and her healed healthy looking grandparents, and asking Jesus to help her family forgive the people who caused it. Sixteen months later, Rachel describes major recovery, regained memories (including her wedding), and ongoing healing, while the family emphasizes God’s timing, provision, and faith through trauma. On a special Valentine’s Day episode of the 3 Doves podcast, host Jason Pawlowski interviews three young men—Andrew, Caleb, and JJ—who share testimonies about God’s love, faith, and transformation. 

Andrew describes growing up in an abusive home, being airlifted to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Tampa, living with his grandmother who blended Judeo-Christian practice with Christian church life, and later facing abandonment, foster-system instability, and suicidal thoughts while at DCF offices. He says a YouVersion Bible app notification reminded him God saw him, God Loves him, and he later committed his life to Jesus during sixth grade as he prepared to testify in court for the termination of his parents’ rights, supported by Christians praying over him; he cites Galatians 2:20 and shares he is now pursuing ministry. 

Caleb shares that although raised in a Christian household, he sought acceptance in middle school, fell into partying and unhealthy situations in eighth grade, and was convicted when someone asked him about Jesus while he wasn’t living like a Christian. At a church camp themed “Build Your Church,” he prayed for God to change his heart, felt peace and love, sought guidance from leaders, and later connected deeply with the song “Gratitude,” describing a growing faith and involvement in worship music, including self-teaching instruments and receiving drum lessons supported by the church; he emphasizes the importance of surrounding oneself with Spirit-led community. 

JJ shares growing up without an active Christian home despite Catholic traditions, experiencing parental conflict and divorce, and entering a toxic long-term relationship he mistook for love; after the breakup and further family fracture he contemplated suicide. He says meeting Caleb in school led him to Crosspoint youth group, where he found community, began sharing the gospel with his family, and at camp realized he needed Jesus and decided to be baptized; he later baptized his mother and aunt and describes renewed family unity and improved relationships between his parents.

By naming his company "First Response," he honors his past while making a promise to never abandon those in need—healing the very wounds of abandonment he once carried.
