We begin where Bobby Cox's story ends: at the place where every argument runs out of breath, where every human being finally stands before the One who makes the calls that will not be overturned.

We will see you there!

The new version does everything the old one did—only faster, clearer, and with features you didn't know you needed. Going back feels unthinkable. In Hebrews 10, the author brings his argument to a climactic conclusion: Jesus is the better alternative to everything that came before. The old covenant, the priesthood, the sacrificial system—it all pointed forward to something greater. And that something is Someone: Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we're returning to our journey through Hebrews as we step into a new year. And there's something fitting about starting 2025 by looking at what God does when He does something new. Because when God upgrades, He doesn't just add features. He transforms everything! Most of us will never be tempted to return to the rules and rituals of Old Testament Judaism. But we face something just as dangerous: the constant pull of legalism. The original readers of Hebrews faced tremendous pressure. After coming to Christ, life got harder, not easier. Their property was seized. They faced public shame. Some went to prison. In a legalistic works-based mindset, these circumstances looked like God's judgment. The temptation to go back to what was familiar must have been overwhelming. This Sunday, we'll be reminded why going back is never the answer. Not because the old ways were evil, but because they were incomplete. They were shadows pointing to the reality we now have in Christ. When God does something new, it's always better than the old. That truth is at the core of what redemption means. And it's exactly what we need to hear as we start a new year.

To address this problem, people have always sought four things: a priest to mediate, a temple to meet in, a covenant to define the terms, and sacrifices to atone for sin.As we move deeper into this next section of Hebrews, the author will reveal how Jesus is the true priest (Chapter 7), who ministered in the real Temple (Chapter 8), serving under the most gracious covenant any god has ever offered (Chapter 9), and making the only sacrifice that matters (Chapter 10).This week, we’ll look at Hebrews 7 and discover how an ancient, mysterious figure from Genesis named Melchizedek reveals God’s plan for a better priesthood—one that points us straight to Jesus. Long before Aaron ever wore a robe or offered a sacrifice, God was already preparing a priest who would never need replacing, one who would need to make a single sacrifice for all time.Join us Sunday as we see why the priesthood of Melchizedek succeeded where all other faiths failed.

Either way, the warning is real and sobering. But that’s not where the passage ends. In verses 7–8, the writer paints a picture of two fields. Both receive the same rain, yet one yields fruit and the other only thorns. Why does one field thrive while the other is burned? The answer isn’t in the rainfall—it’s in the response. The way we receive and respond to God’s grace reveals whether our faith is alive or just an imitation. Then, in verses 9–12, the tone shifts. The author turns from warning to encouragement, confident that his readers are the fruitful kind—that their lives already show the “things that accompany salvation.” He believes that genuine faith not only starts well but grows strong through perseverance, love, and patient endurance. This Sunday, we’ll explore why the author believed the warning didn’t apply to them—and how we can find that same assurance today. Because the goal isn’t just avoiding judgment; it’s producing a harvest that shows God’s grace is real to us!

Hebrews 4 shows us that God offers a kind of rest that isn’t about inactivity—it’s about security. It’s the kind of rest that comes when the work is done, the fight is over, and the verdict is already “accepted.” It’s the rest Jesus entered when He sat down—because His work was finished. So here’s the question this week: if God’s rest is still available, why do so few enter it? That level of care points to a Creator who values His creation deeply. But if this God exists, would He leave us guessing about who He is? Or would He speak clearly so we can know Him?In this message, we’ll wrestle with the difference between human claims about God’s words and the actual voice of God revealed in Scripture. We’ll explore why the Bible stands apart from every other source, and how it offers a trustworthy, life-giving message to a world full of competing voices.

Discover the profound meaning of redemption through the story of Ruth chapter 4. This message explores the contrast between false and true redeemers, revealing three essential qualifications for genuine redemption: the right, the resources, and the resolve. The unnamed man in Ruth 4 represents false redeemers in our lives - those people, things, or systems that promise fulfillment but ultimately fail us because they're self-serving. These might include political leaders, material possessions, career success, or legalistic religious systems that we mistakenly look to for salvation. Boaz, however, demonstrates true redemption by publicly committing to Ruth, not just acquiring property but building a relationship with her. This biblical story points directly to Jesus Christ as our ultimate Redeemer who has the right (becoming human), the resources (perfect righteousness), and the resolve (willingly dying for us despite knowing all our failures). Learn how to identify false redeemers in your life using the guidance of the first two commandments, and discover how focusing on Jesus as your true Redeemer brings freedom and fulfillment. This message will help you examine your heart to recognize where you might be turning to false redeemers for security, identity, or fulfillment, and guide you toward trusting Jesus more fully. Perfect for anyone seeking deeper understanding of biblical redemption, struggling with legalism, or wanting to strengthen their relationship with Christ.

But most of us, if we are honest, sometimes wrestle with preferring Heaven over Earth. This is a problem, the Bible doesn’t leave room for divided hearts. Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). Paul instructed us to set our minds “on things that are above, not on things that are on earth” (Colossians 3:2). And the writer of Hebrews reminded believers that they were “looking forward to a better country—a heavenly one” (Hebrews 11:16).When we left Lot last week, he and his family were being led out by the two Angels sent to destroy the city—the hands of judgment are also the hands of deliverance. And while we are traveling through this life, we know we must serve, but can never settle, here.Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.1 Peter 2:11-12As we conclude our series looking at the life of Lot, we will once again turn to the Gospel message to discover insights for living in a world we are leaving.

Athanasius, writing in the third century, spoke of its impact on the Christians of his age:“Before the divine sojourn of the Savior, even the holiest of men were afraid of death, and mourned the dead as those who perish. Every day, we’re surrounded by voices—opinions, expectations, emotions, fears. Some voices come from the outside. Others whisper from within. And in the middle of all that noise, we long to hear one voice above all. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth (John 16:13). But how do we recognize that guidance when so many other voices compete for our attention? How can we know we’re following the Spirit, not just our own thoughts or someone else’s plan? Our decisions matter; and we want to make the right ones. This Sunday, as we continue our Trip to Troas series, we’ll look at how God guided Paul—not through a step-by-step roadmap, but through the Spirit’s gentle direction. Sometimes that looked like a closed door. Sometimes it meant an unexpected redirection. But it was never random. Join us this Sunday and learn how to walk with confidence!

Standing on the shore of the Aegean in the port city of Troas, Paul discovered God’s will for his life. He never planned to go to Macedonia. He had other ideas. Yet, that was exactly where God wanted him to be. He had found God’s will for his life—or maybe it would be better to say that God’s will found him!Throughout this series, we will focus on answering one single question: “How did Paul arrive in Troas?” And as we discover how Paul discovered God’s will for his life, we will learn valuable insights for how you and I can find God’s will too. This week, we will begin by clearing up some misconceptions. Many believe that God’s will is like a roadmap, where every turn must be known in advance. Others assume it’s a crystal ball, as if knowing His will means seeing the future. Some treat it like a scavenger hunt, where we must constantly be on the lookout for hidden clues. And some fear it’s a fragile object, believing one wrong move could ruin God’s plan forever. But the Bible tells a different story. God’s will is not something to decode, predict, or chase—it’s something we trust and follow.Join us this Sunday as we debunk these myths and discover what it truly means to walk in God’s will.
