If you’ve ever tried to “think more positively” or reframe your mindset and wondered why it didn’t stick, this episode is for you.

In This Episode

This week, I’m sharing a very real and vulnerable look into my own healing journey and the hidden nervous system story I recently uncovered that has quietly been driving parts of my behavior for years. We talk about subconscious beliefs, achievement patterns, nervous system safety, and what it actually looks like to rewrite old stories with compassion instead of shame.

We’ll talk about:

Why 95% of our stories and patterns live beneath conscious awareness

How nervous system safety helps hidden beliefs rise to the surface

The subconscious connection between discomfort, achievement, and overworking

Why slowing down and looking inward can initially feel uncomfortable

The difference between logically knowing something and truly feeling safe in it

How awareness creates the opportunity to rewrite old patterns and choose differently

Why This Matters

So many high-achieving women unknowingly tie their freedom, worth, rest, or happiness to productivity and results. But often, these patterns were created long ago and continue running quietly beneath the surface. In this episode, I share how increasing nervous system safety allows us to finally see these hidden stories—not to judge ourselves, but to create more intentionality, ease, and alignment in how we live.

✨ This is exactly the deeper work we do inside my signature program, Power of Ease—helping women regulate their nervous system, uncover hidden stress patterns, and create more success, clarity, joy, and alignment without living in constant pressure and overdrive.

If you’re ready to go deeper into this work, you can learn more here:
https://erinwallencoaching.myflodesk.com/powerofeaseprogram

Reflection / Journal Prompts

Take a moment to reflect or journal:

What is one story or belief that may quietly be driving my behavior?

When I feel discomfort, where does my mind automatically go?

What might open up for me if I met myself with more compassion instead of pressure?

✨ Free Resource
Support your nervous system with my Daily Ease Reset Checklist—a simple, grounding tool to help you shift out of stress and back into calm throughout your day.

🎧 Subscribe & Follow
New episodes drop weekly on Tuesdays.
If this episode resonated, I’d be so grateful if you took a moment to leave a 5-star review—it helps more women find the podcast and step into more ease 🤍

📱 Connect with me on Instagram for more support and behind-the-scenes:

But what if the real key to sustainable success isn’t behavior or mindset… but your body?

We’ll look at how starting from regulation changes everything.

We’ll talk about:

• The difference between focusing on behavior, brain, or body when pursuing a goal
• Why strategy without nervous system safety leads to burnout and crashes
• How dysregulation creates “survival mode” success that isn’t sustainable
• Why mindset work doesn’t stick unless your body feels safe
• The power of expanders (and the four-minute mile story) in shifting belief
• What it really means to release the “how” and create from flow instead of force

Why This Matters

When your nervous system is dysregulated, your body is operating as if you’re in danger—even if your conscious mind knows you’re not. In that state, growth, creativity, and clarity are compromised.

But when you begin with regulation—when your body feels safe—everything shifts.

Your thinking expands.
Your strategy aligns.
Your actions feel lighter.

Instead of pushing forward with a heavy backpack of stress, you move toward your goals with more clarity, ease, and possibility.

Starting with your body doesn’t mean you ignore mindset or strategy. It means you build them on a foundation that actually supports sustainable success.

Less stress. More clarity. And then, on the day I decided to re-record, something unexpected happened.

An epic snowstorm hit where I live in South Carolina — something that almost never happens here. Everything slowed down. Plans changed. And instead of pushing through my to-do list, I went outside, played in the snow, and let myself have fun.

And almost immediately, clarity opened up.

Not because I tried harder —
but because my nervous system shifted.

That moment became the living example for today’s episode.

In This Episode

In this episode, we explore why fun isn’t frivolous — and why it may be one of the most effective strategies for sustainable success.

Through the lens of the nervous system, we talk about how intentionally practicing fun means intentionally practicing regulation — and why more time spent regulated leads to clearer thinking, better decisions, and cleaner momentum.

We’ll talk about:

Why fun is not an activity, but a nervous system state

How stress and fun don’t really coexist in the body

What it means to treat regulation as a business plan

The different flavors of regulation, including safety to rest and safety to play

Why intentionally practicing fun trains your nervous system out of survival

Four specific ways fun improves clarity, energy, creativity, and effectiveness

A simple, low-pressure experiment to start integrating more fun into your work and life

This episode isn’t about doing less or lowering your standards.
It’s about creating from a regulated state — instead of from stress.

Why This Matters

When we’ve been conditioned to believe that fun comes after success, stress becomes the default state we create from.

But here’s the nervous-system truth:

Fun increases time spent in regulation

Regulation creates clarity

Clarity leads to aligned, effective action

When fun is present:

Decisions feel simpler instead of forced

Energy feels cleaner and more sustainable

Creativity flows more naturally

Action becomes more impactful — not just busy

Fun isn’t the reward after success.
It’s the access point to sustainable success.

Reflection / Journal Prompts

Take a few moments to reflect or journal:

On a scale of 1–10, how much fun am I actually feeling right now?

Where am I doing “fun things” but not fully experiencing fun?

What would it look like to invite just 10% more fun into my work or days?

(No forcing.

No fixing. Just noticing.)

✨ Free Resource

Support your nervous system with my Daily Ease Reset Checklist — a simple, grounding tool to help you shift out of stress and back into calm throughout your day.

👉 Grab it here:
https://erinwallencoaching.myflodesk.com/dailyeasechecklist

🎧 Subscribe & Follow

New episodes drop weekly.

If this episode resonated, subscribe, follow along, and share it with a woman who’s ready to create more — without believing stress is the price of success.

Less stress creates more magic ✨
