We are not manipulators; we are responders. We don't pray, give, fast, read your Bible to get God to do things for us. Everything we do is in direct response to what God has done or is currently doing. We've discussed on what responding looks like; now is the time to explore what it doesn't look like. 

In this episode we are staying in alignment with what we have been talking about, but taking it in a different direction. Today, I want to show you what responding looks like so that we know when we are correctly doing it to properly partner with whatever God is wanting to do. How we respond greatly determine our outcome. Listen in.

In the Old Testament there were punishments and consequences when Israel sinned; in the New Testament, the punishments were placed on Christ liberating us from all punishments. Even though all punishment has been placed on Christ at the crucifixion, there are still consequences to sin. In this episode, we explore the beauty of God's grace and the pitfalls we can fall into when cooperating with such a gift; we are responders, not initiators.

In alignment with the theme of being responders not initiators, I show you the dangers of applying everything Christ says in the Gospels without a New Testament lens. I take the time to give you practical ways to identify the audience Christ is talking to; by verifying who He is talking to, we can easily determine what we need to do with His statements in alignment with the New Testament. It's time to remove the weight that Christ died to remove from us.
