Antidote for Depression

Do you struggle with depression? The psalmist did too, and he writes about it, asking, “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” He stopped his prayers to God and started talking to himself, and when he did, he literally gave us the antidote for depression. Depression tells you God forgot about you. Discouragement says nothing's changing. But when you're stuck in the dark, you have to do what David did: talk to yourself and encourage yourself in the Lord. We can all face a drought of some kind. Perhaps it’s a financial drought, or a relationship drought with someone you love but haven't communicated with for some time. Maybe you’re experiencing a spiritual drought because your spirit is dry, and you may be saying, “God, where are You?” In these times, the enemy tries very hard to make us believe that things are never going to change, and it will always be this way. In this message, Liz shares hope from the powerful story in II Kings 7-8 about a very severe drought which ended…in one day.

This message is about being honest with yourself so you can be honest with God, because you can't draw living water from a clogged well.

Getting Past Gaza
