If you can recognize and meet your  own needs and wants while holding yourself in a gentle, compassionate, safe, and understanding way, then you will welcome in these very same things in a partner. Most importantly, realizing that love is not supposed to be perfect, but rather make sense to you based on what you value, will allow the bond or connection you have with your partner flow more naturally and run a smoother course. After all, the love you share with someone else stems from a place of intent where both individuals commit to investing an equal amount of time, effort, and energy for the connection to strengthen and grow.
