Powered by the Marge Jarvis Recording Studio that is funded by Adopt-a-School of Beaufort County, this unique project brings together the voices of the past and present to share the legacy of education on St. Helena Island.</p><p><br></p><p>The podcast is led by the 5th graders of St. Helena Elementary School, who take the reins as interviewers, engaging local residents who are alumni of the St. Helena Island Schools in thoughtful conversations about their memories, experiences, and the evolution of education in their community. These young storytellers gain valuable skills while preserving and celebrating their school’s history through the art of oral storytelling.</p><p><br></p><p>USCB Communication Studies students play a crucial role in the production process, using their editing expertise to bring these stories to life, ensuring a polished final product that captures the authenticity and emotional depth of the interviews.</p><p><br></p><p>Sponsored by South Carolina Humanities, this podcast offers listeners a rare and personal glimpse into the history of St. Helena Island Schools, told through the voices of those who have lived it.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
