Expectation means having confident anticipation for a positive outcome. When our expectation is rooted in God, it is always positive. Negative thoughts and feelings are often distractions meant to pull us away from trusting Him. What begins with God carries a positive mindset and leads to a hopeful end. We must choose to expect something good.

The Hebrew word “Quavah” means expectation—to wait and watch for God to move. It reminds us that God’s timing is perfect. He is never early, never late—always on time. Even when things don’t happen according to our will, we can trust that God is still working. It is never too late for Him to bring His promises to pass in our lives.

Jesus has given each of us a mission. And sometimes we wrestle with questions like: Why me? Why do I have to be committed?

But we must understand—the mission is bigger than us.

God created each of us with a plan, a purpose, and a future. It’s time to turn off autopilot and intentionally do what God is calling us to do. When you decide to move on purpose, you align yourself with God’s will.

Jesus entered a world full of chaos. As He grew, He saw everything—pain, injustice, and brokenness—and still chose to walk in His mission.

Each of us plays a different role, yet we are all part of one greater mission. No role is more important than another—true victory comes when we all succeed together. Though we are unique with different expressions and responsibilities, we must each ask: How am I faithfully carrying out my part of the mission?

Many of us are easily distracted by lesser things, but God is calling us back to a place of focus and clarity. Our mission begins with loving God wholeheartedly—heart, soul, and mind—and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Through Christ, we are empowered to fulfill this mission.

We must remain purposeful. There are people waiting on us to fulfill what God has called us to do. We cannot afford to lose sight of the mission. To stay aligned, we must recognize and avoid mission killers.

At times, this calling may feel overwhelming—even impossible. Yet we are commanded to move forward in faith and obedience. God’s purpose for our lives is far greater than we can imagine. Even in moments of discouragement, we must persevere.

The question remains: Am I ready to accept God’s mission for my life? God’s mission for you is bigger than your fears, greater than your doubts, and beyond what you can imagine. Will you accept it?

John 15 captures the heart of Jesus’ teaching. It reveals who Jesus is and what He calls us to be. In this sacred moment, Jesus is gathered with His disciples in the upper room, offering His final instructions before going to Gethsemane. No matter what you are facing, there is a reason you are here. God’s love is intentional, purposeful, and present.

In a world filled with tension, division, and constant noise, authentic love feels increasingly rare. Our schedules are full. Our agendas are packed. We seldom put our phones down long enough to truly see one another. We are drifting from genuine brother-and-sister relationships. Close proximity often exposes our struggle to love. During the COVID shutdown, many found it difficult simply being around loved ones for extended periods. Why? Because love is tested when we are close. God reminds us that loving people is not always easy.

How do you love someone who is manipulative, critical, or against you—at home, at work, or in your community? God calls us into a forgiving love—a love that does not always make sense. You may know they don’t like you, yet God says pray for them. You may feel misunderstood, yet God says love them anyway. So how do we do it?
