Jesus' disciples came to him and said, "Lord, teach us to pray." All followers of Christ desire authentic prayers experiences. In this episode we look at four Psalms that help us develop prayers of Thanksgiving (Psalm 30), Confession (Psalm 51), for Wisdom (Psalm 119) and reminding us God is on the throne (Psalm 96).

Music included helps us focus on these prayers, Matt Boswell and Matt papa sing 'O Give Thanks,' The Corner Room put Psalm 119:33-40 to music, and we finish with Keswick Bible Week singing 'How Lovely on the Mountains are the Feet of Him (Our god Reigns).

We are encouraged to develop both these types of prayer, toe press our feelings to our God, in the good and the tough times. This is the beginning of a series of episodes based on our Bible Studies where we are thinking about developing a heart for God. In this episode we see David's great desire to worship God with all his heart, he doesn't hold back and he doesn't let anyone else put him off from worshipping God, for the Lord is on the throne of his heart. However, like all us, we are tempted. and other things can so easily push God off that throne place in our hearts. We explore how David allowed that to happen, how he could have resisted, and how the Lord brought him back to a place of repentance and restoration, where he once more has God's praise on his lips.

We look at the following Scripture, 2 Samuel 6:1-22; 11:1-17; 12:1-9 as well as reflecting on David's response penned in Psalm 51. We have music by Chris Tomlin, 'God's Great Dance Floor' and Kieth Green 'Create in me a Clean Heart.'
