They have supportive partnerships.</p><p>And yet, something’s breaking down.</p><p>In nearly every case—including my own—the common thread I&apos;ve found in every potential diagnosis isn’t just age or genetics. It’s stress. But not just stress from “a lot going on.” We’re talking decades of performance. Years of pushing. A lifetime of being “on.” </p><p>It’s like we’ve been conditioned to carry the world, and our bodies are finally saying, “I can’t do this anymore.”</p><p>We were never meant to move at this pace. We were never meant to feel like the world would fall apart if we slowed down.</p><p>But now? The price is showing up in symptoms, discomfort, and a body that no longer responds the way it used to.</p><p>What if the health issues we’re facing aren’t random—or just “part of getting older”—but the cumulative effect of a lifestyle we were never meant to sustain?</p><p>As the saying goes...</p><p><br/></p><blockquote><em>You can have 1000 problems in your life until you have a health problem. Then you only have one.</em></blockquote><p><br/></p><p>This week’s post is about the quiet consequences of decades of stress, performance and pushing through. Not one at a time, but all at once—arms aching, fingers strained.</em></p><p>Then, visualize yourself setting them down—just for the day.</p><p>The reactions were powerful.</p><p>One woman shared her deep gratitude for just ten minutes of restful peace (she also shared she has five kids).</p><p>Another woman at my table said something that’s stuck with me since:</p><blockquote><em>“I didn’t want to put the bags down… because I knew I’d have to pick them back up.”</em></blockquote><p> </p><p>The whole table nodded.</p><p>I responded curiously:</p><p><b>“Maybe we don’t have to pick all of them back up?”</b></p><p>More nodding.</p><p>In today&apos;s member email, we&apos;re exploring the art of knowing what to put down.     <description><![CDATA[<p>When you’re lying on your deathbed, will you want one more unnecessary meeting with that one frustrating colleague?</p><p>Or will you want <b>one more connected moment</b> with your child?</p><p>Will you want to clear one more email from your inbox?</p><p>Or will you want to <b>hear the birds on a beautiful spring day</b>?</p><p>I ask myself these questions often—especially when I’m out on a run.</p><p>I see the cars sitting in rush hour traffic, and I’m grateful for the choice I made a decade ago to <b>cut the commute out of my life.</b></p><p>I hear the birds singing and feel the crisp morning air, and I’m grateful that I <b>created a flexible schedule</b>—one that allows me to be outside when it’s nice, not just when it’s the weekend.</p><p>I pick my sons up from school and head to the park, and I’m grateful that I <b>didn’t tie myself to a calendar full of unnecessary meetings</b>.</p><p>Because in a career-first lifestyle, we waste time on meaningless tasks.</p><p>We spend much of our days with people who don’t matter in the end.</p><p>We push our health to its breaking point.</p><p>And then we get up the next day and do it all over again.</p><p><b>But in a life-first lifestyle?</b></p><p>We still do great, meaningful work.</p><p>But we choose how we spend our time.</p><p>We prioritize our health, our relationships, and our actual lives.</p><p><b>Most people never make the shift. </b>They stay stuck in the perceived necessity of the grind—the endless to-do lists, the boss’s expectations, the pressure to keep up.</p><p>But the people we get to see inside our intentional lifestyle design framework Strategic Planning for Life who make the shift?</p><p>They don’t just gain more freedom.</p><p>They perform better.</p><p>Sometimes, they reach their goals faster.</p><p>Sometimes, they land promotions they never expected.</p><p>Sometimes, they walk away from jobs that were draining them—and find something far better.</p><p>But every single time, <b>they feel better</b>.</p><p>Because they finally put their careers where they belong: <b>as a part of their life, not the whole thing.</b></p><p>And when work tries to creep back in and take over (because it will)?</p><p>They gently guide it back where it belongs.</p>]]></description>

The promise of ‘someday’ over the gift of right now.<br/><br/>We trade our time, health, and relationships for “financial freedom,” not realizing that the cost is far greater than the paycheck.<br/><br/><b>The truth? </b>You don’t need financial freedom to have time freedom.<br/><br/>This isn’t just a personal wake-up call. <b>It’s a collective one.</b><br/><br/>This week’s National Report Card shows a sobering truth: as incomes rise, our well-being is plummeting.<br/><br/><b><em>“Our rising incomes are not translating into greater perceived well-being and social connection.”<br/><br/>“We see declines in relationships, increases in social isolation, and eroding mental health.”</em></b><br/><br/>Haunting charts like this paint a grim picture for our future if we continue on this path.</p><p>It’s not the money that’s the problem.
