In our recent conversation, Tim shared his journey into built environment sustainability, paving the way for the creation of Exergenics. He detailed how Exergenics offers a cloud-based machine learning tool designed to tackle the efficiency gap in operating chilled water plant systems. This innovative solution simplifies the complexities of chilled water plants by integrating top-notch control strategies directly into existing BMS.

We delved into the significance of having detailed data at our fingertips to drive energy efficiency within the built environment. Our discussion also shed light on the crucial need to raise awareness about reducing carbon emissions originating from the built environment.

Mary and I had a spirited discussion where she shared her transition from multifamily real estate to an established career in Sustainability Leadership. We delved into the ever-changing ESG and sustainability real estate landscape and how GreenT climate software solutions help the Multifamily industry to solve its complexities, challenges and pain-points related to efficiency and carbon reduction. Courtney and I had a great discussion where she shared how her passion for sustainability is based on her connection with the natural world.  We delved into Courtney's previous work in Sub Saharan Africa where she discovered the impact of real time energy consumption data that can help create energy and sustainability programs.  Courtney shared Edo's mission to enable a decarbonized grid through a building-centric approach that unlocks the ability of commercial buildings to become reliable grid assets.  They accomplish this mission by leveraging Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), an emerging technology given the increased demand of manufacturing, electrification and data center infrastructure.  We also discussed the potential for sustainability initiatives for the built environment, where 30% of carbon emissions come from building operations.

Matt was gracious in sharing his career journey and his motivation to focus his career on sustainable technologies and policy initiatives.  We had an engaging discussion on Highland's "Electrification as a Service" offering and how their services are transforming the electricity and transportation needs of school districts nationwide. Matt shared data from a recent survey done by Highland that 65% of parents would want their kids riding on EV powered school busses.  Matt and I discussed how the demand for EV Transformation is there, and it requires both a push for education as well as attractive ROI for school districts and similar organization that have fleet level needs.

Selinay was gracious in sharing her motivation to focus her career in Cleantech from a desire to innovate new technologies while simultaneously tackling the urgency of climate change.  We discussed Bluedot's platform that can mange diverse EV Fleets by offering a streamlined solution which provide public charging access, home charging reimbursements and vehicle analytics.  Selinay shared her insight on the growth of EV Fleet Management and how the EV Industry can better position itself as an obvious cost savings for business and consumers.

David and I had an engaging discussion where David shared his journey transition from black energy consulting for the shipping industry to the Energy Efficiency world after joining EnerNoc, a place that has created multiple Cleantech Entrepreneurs. David shared the vital work he is doing at Gridtractor that focuses on solving the puzzle of farm vehicle electrification buy working with farmers, OEMs, utilities, and regulators to bring electrification to a farming industry that has historically been underserved. 

Gridtractor's work is set in empowering the agricultural community to take control of their energy use, creating a better ecosystems for both farmers and energy providers.

Stephen and I had a engaging discussion on the bright future of the Cleantech world that is driven by strong economics models in favor of technology adoption.  Stephen share Vutility's unique offering of a submetering solutions that is highly accurate, self powered and non maintenance driven which caters to underserved commercial and industrial facilities that need an accurate accounting of their energy use.  Stephen also gave sound advice to entrepreneurs in the Cleantech space to focus on getting across the chasm of early adopters to their technology and focus on getting to profitability which will lead to more sustainable growth.

On the latest episode of the Decarbonization Disruptors Podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Amrit Robbins, CEO and Co-Founder of Axiom Cloud.  Amrit shared how taking part in a screening of the acclaimed documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" catapulted him into striving for a career in climate change.  We discussed Axiom Cloud's unique offering that provides a multifaceted approach to the issues of energy management for refrigeration systems in grocery stores which can account for 60% of energy use for grocery chains.  We also discuss the crucial importance for early leak detection technology especially with the recent regulatory tailwinds from the EPA making HFC refrigerant leaks a top priority and how Axiom's technology can help adhere these new regulations.

I enjoyed speaking with Grant Morgan, Founder and Partner at One Dream Ventures.  Grant shared his entrepreneurial background, the genesis of him founding R-Zero as well as the challenges of starting a crucial company to transform the health of indoor spaces during the height of the Pandemic.  Grant, along with his Co-Founder Eli Harris, both who have been founders of companies seven times collectively, created One Dream Ventures with the mission to help aspiring entrepreneurs who are looking to create disruptive products vital for the energy transition.   Grant discussed his views on growth areas of the energy transition movement that focus on technology deployment that benefit both end users of energy as well as Utilities.

In Episode 4 of Decarbonization Disruptors, I engaged with Bharat Vats, President & CEO of Atom Power, who shared insights on his path from an Electrical Engineer, a thought Leader in IoT and how that transformed his career to becoming an Executive Leader in the EV space. We delved into Atom Power's groundbreaking technology, the Atom Switch, the world's first commercial UL-listed digital solid-state circuit breaker, offering greater protection, reliability, durability, and speed - essential for the EV Revolution.

Our discussion also highlighted the data-driven approach to EV Charging, emphasizing integration with the electrical grid, utilities, and the EV Charging Network. Bharat outlined how AI can revolutionize EV charging data analysis, optimizing resource allocation to meet demand.

Rahul shared his career journey starting in the Chemical & Plastics manufacturing industry with the mission to focus on solutions for environmental pollution.  Rahul talked about his introduction to early stage investing in cleantech and healthcare startups and how he evaluates companies for investment both by their solution and more importantly their people.

We discussed in detail Rahul's role at CarbonBuilt and how they are tackling the massive problem of carbon reduction in the manufacturing of concreate.  It was enlightening to hear how CarbonBuilt is revolutionizing the way concreate is produced, a process that that largely been unchanged in over 100 years. 

There is not silver bullet in decarbonization, but CarbonBuilt is a great example of advanced technology to reduce global carbon emissions implemented in a practical and cost effective way.
