What initially appeared to be a missing-person investigation would soon become a homicide investigation when Anitra’s body was discovered days later in a wooded area in Crawford County, Georgia. An autopsy determined that she died by homicidal violence, and investigators ultimately charged her boyfriend, DeMarcus Little, with her murder.

But Anitra’s story is not simply about how she died. It is about the relationship that prosecutors described as jealousy, manipulation, threats, and possessiveness—and what happened when Anitra wanted it to end.

On the morning of August 22, 2025, she followed her usual routine and prepared for another day of work, but Latricia had no way of knowing it would be her last day on earth.

Latricia Green did what women are often told to do.

She asked for help.

She documented the danger.

She sought protection.

She tried to survive.

But protection on paper is not the same as protection in real life.

Macomb Township, Michigan— On October 1, 2016,  38-year-old Ebony Byrom called 911 during a domestic dispute with her husband, 44-year-old Hal Byrom. Ebony told dispatchers that her husband needed to leave before the situation escalated. 

But help did not arrive in time. While Ebony was still on the phone with 911, Hal opened fire, killing her inside their home.

Ebony's teenage son was also inside the house at the time and later called 911 himself. After shooting Ebony, Hal turned the gun on himself in what prosecutors later described as a failed murder-suicide attempt. 

Ebony’s murder is a devastating reminder that domestic violence does not always look chaotic from the outside. Sometimes the person in danger is doing everything right — calling for help, staying calm, asking the abuser to leave — and still, the violence finds them. This case is not just about a failed murder-suicide. It is about control, escalation, and the horrifying reality that for many victims, the most dangerous moment comes when they try to survive.

Cleveland, Ohio —In this episode of Senseless True Crime, we examine the heartbreaking case of 10-year-old Amor Wilson and 8-year-old Mila Chatman, two young sisters whose lives ended in one of the most disturbing child homicide cases Cleveland has seen in years.

On March 2, 2026, a man walking his dog in a field near Ginn Academy in Cleveland’s South Collinwood neighborhood made a horrifying discovery — a suitcase partially buried in the ground. Inside were the remains of a child. A second suitcase nearby revealed another victim. 

Within days, investigators identified the victims as Amor Wilson and Mila Chatman, half-sisters whose deaths sparked national outrage and grief throughout the community.

Police soon arrested 28-year-old Aliyah Henderson, the girls’ mother, charging her with two counts of aggravated murder.

Investigators soon focused on Booker after evidence emerged linking him to her disappearance. Authorities reported finding a “substantial” amount of blood in the bathroom of his apartment, which was later confirmed to be Ashley’s DNA through forensic testing. This discovery, along with other evidence, led prosecutors to charge Booker with first-degree murder and related offenses, even though Ashley’s body has not yet been recovered.

More than four decades later, her case remains unsolved, frozen in time, while the consequence of that senseless violence continues to shape the life of the child she left behind who was just 2 years old at the time of her murder.

Which follows the trajectory of his adoptive experience and his initial removal from his mother–Timmeka’s care at just 8 days old, and his eventual return under child protective supervision. 

That supervision was eventually terminated– despite Timmeka's troubling past. A decision that led to the child’s untimely death. 

This case forces us to confront the cracks in the child welfare system and the devastating consequences when those systems fail.

• What happens when reunification takes priority over safety?
• How many red flags are enough to protect the most vulnerable?

Collierville, TN–36-year-old Brodes Perry, was a respected spiritual leader known for his deep faith, generosity, and community impact. On April 11, 2019, Perry’s life was cut short by a deadly obsession, sending shockwaves throughout his congregation and community. 

Pastor Perry was killed by LaToshia Daniels, a woman he knew intimately and had a two-year affair with.  Daniels, consumed by unrequited affection, jealousy, and an escalating fixation, crossed state lines to confront Perry and his wife. 

The violent attack was the culmination of a descent into control, delusion, and emotional unraveling.

In Part Two of this deeply unsettling case, we go inside the courtroom, where emotions ran high and long-guarded truths finally surfaced. The spotlight shifts to Brodes Perry’s wife - Tabatha Perry, whose testimony became the emotional anchor of the trial. In her own steady yet shaken voice, Tabatha walked the jury through the complicated reality of her marriage—revealing the private conversations she and Pastor Brodes Perry had about ethical non-monogamy, transparency, and boundaries that were intended to protect their relationship, not destroy it.

As the prosecution laid out its evidence, a stark contrast emerged between ethical non-monogamy, rooted in consent and communication, and LaToshia Daniels’ actions, rooted in obsession, entitlement, and emotional volatility. 

Then came the shocking revelation - a part of Pastor Perry’s life revealed - in his own words, played out for the world to hear. 

The Jury deliberated for only two hours –and when they returned with a verdict–

The room fell silent. This ruling served as a declaration that a man's openness can never justify taking a life.

Tallahassee, FL—On June 3, 2023, 12‑year‑old Lori Paige disappeared from her home in Tallahassee, FL. Her father, 36‑year‑old Andrew Wiley, reported her missing—claiming she left with a backpack while he was at work. Over the course of 22 months, local, state, and federal authorities followed hundreds of leads across multiple states. In February 2024, Wiley’s phone was seized and a forensic analysis revealed disturbing Google searches about remote bodies of water in Georgia and Alabama. On April 5, 2025, after a remote burn cleared brush at the Merrily Plantation in Thomas County, Georgia, cadaver dogs uncovered human remains. DNA confirmed the body was that of Lori Paige.

Charlotte, North Carolina — 35-year-old Aliyah Terry, was a domestic violence advocate and mother of two, who tragically lost her life on July 2, 2019 at the hands of her live-in boyfriend, 32-year-old Isaiah Henderson. 

Aliyah’s life was filled with purpose, she co-authored the book - The Queen Xperience to uplift survivors of domestic abuse and to raise awareness—an inspiring mission silenced far too soon. The book was four days from its release when Aliyah was tragically murdered.

All proceeds from the sale of the book, now go to help raise her children.

AJ and her children lived in a neighborhood that was plagued by a neighborhood bully– 58-year-old Susan Lorincz who lived next to an open field where the children would play.  

In the course of a year, Susan Lorincz made dozens of 911 calls complaining about the noise level and accusing the children of trespassing onto her property. Susan would often scream at the children, calling them racial slurs and other expletives. 

On June 2, 2023, tensions would boil over when Susan became so upset by the noise level of the children that she threw a rollerblade skate, striking one of the children in the foot. When one of the kids told his mother - AJ Owens, she confronted Susan at her home about the mistreatment of the children, what would happen next would put the controversial Florida Stand Your Ground Law at the center of national news as one suspect claimed self-defense.

Eric was handsome, charming, and single. He was known to date several women at one time, and it was no secret that Eric was a ladies' man. Although Eric’s siblings tried to encourage him to settle down, Eric was honest about waiting for the right woman to come into his life.

On June 5, 2012 - When Eric failed to show up to work, a wellness check was conducted at his apartment and police found Eric dead from an apparent gunshot wound.  The investigation would go cold for over a year, until one crucial discovery led to a suspect who was hiding in plain sight.

On August 29, 2022, Shirley left the home around 6pm to attend a birthday dinner for her sister at Ruth Chris, while Jermaine stayed home with the kids. But, on December 3, 2022 - his life would come to a heartbreaking and tragic end, when Prince accepted a ride home from football tryouts that evening. Prince and three other teenagers (ranging in ages from 15-11) were riding in a red SUV driven by their football coach 21-year-old Jaylen Burrows when an unthinkable and senseless act of violence erupted that would leave a Jacksonville community horrified and mourning the loss of a young life gone too soon.

The child had been missing for over 12 hours, although her foster mother 43-year-old Tina Ramirez reported her missing within an hour of when she was found. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the teenage girl hiding under a blanket behind an abandoned building. The officer reported that the young girl was emaciated, she was “skin and bones” and severely dehydrated. 

When officers questioned the young girl, they discovered the shocking details of abuse, neglect and starvation that took place right under everyone’s nose, and the trauma of multiple children living in a real-life “House of Horrors” at the hands of a sadistic foster mother.

An eyewitness would report that Kenneth was disoriented and seemed confused, as a result of Kenneth’s medical emergency, he caused a minor fender bender, and as required by law, he remained at the scene of the accident. Kenneth waited for over 20 minutes for police to arrive, but he ended up leaving the scene to drive to a nearby hospital for medical attention. 

As Kenneth ran a red light on his way to the hospital, he would come face to face with Hannah Payne, a woman who was at the same intersection and witnessed the initial crash. When Kenneth ran the light leaving the scene, he cut Hannah Payne off in traffic. Although Hannah Payne was not involved in the crash, the police were already enroute to the scene. Hannah Payne pursued Kenneth assuming he was intoxicated and ordered him out of his vehicle at gunpoint, all while on the phone with 911, who ordered her NOT to pursue nor approach Mr. Herring. 

What would happen next would leave the community horrified and divided.

Terrell claimed that a woman knocked on the door just before 6am at the Emerald Suites Hotel where the family were leaving at the time. The woman identified herself as Amari’s paternal Aunt, although Amari had been estranged from his father for over a year, Terrell claimed that the woman fled the hotel with Amari. 

The police put out an immediate Amber Alert for 2-year-old Amari and the community came out in droves to search for the toddler. Suspicion quickly turned to Amari’s father and his family, although there was a “no-contact” order in place due to past domestic violence incidents. 

As the days went on, Tayler and Terrell faced backlash from the public for their nonchalant reactions to Amari’s disappearance in a series of news conferences that they participated in and soon their stories began to unravel and two families began to point the finger at each other.

On December 12, 2020, a 911 call came into The Hamilton County Sherrif's Office from a security guard who was working at a construction site, when he stumbled across a large bag near The Purple People Bridge in Cincinnati.  When he opened the contents of the bag, the shock and horror of what was inside would throw this entire case on its head and would launch the largest statewide recovery mission in Ohio’s history.

In 2015, Deasia gave birth to a baby girl - Jayniah, and during her first few weeks of life, Deasia had a psychotic episode and was subsequently admitted to a psychiatric hospital where she was diagnosed with postpartum psychosis, a condition that is often marked by hallucinations, delusions and impaired judgement. Deasia’s infant daughter, 3-month-old Jayniah was then placed in the care of Deasia’s Aunt, and Deasia was ordered to have no contact with the baby. 

On March 16, 2015, this case takes a horrific and tragic turn and is one of the worst cases of Maternal Filicide in The United States to date.

Meshay Melendez started dating 28-year-old Kirkland Warren in an on and off again relationship that was marked with constant threats and incidents of domestic violence. In one incident, Kirkland was accused of firing shots into Meshay's apartment window, while her daughter was inside the residence. He was arrested for this incident, and Meshay was granted a protection order, that Kirkland violated almost immediately, this case highlights the injustices of a system that allowed a dangerous man to be out on bond despite his criminal past against women and pending murder charge which could have prevented this tragedy from happening. 

Meshay Melendez and Layla Stewart were last seen on March 12, 2023, and the two were missing for 10 days before the tragic discovery of their bodies.

On July 23, 2022, a 911 call from a concerned downstairs neighbor claimed she heard loud stomping coming from upstairs in Tasheka’s apartment around 1:30am followed by a loud banging noise, the caller goes on to say that she heard a woman say - “I love you, don't do this” followed by what she thought were gunshots, and then silence.  The next day, Tasheka’s mother conducted a welfare check after Bursey Armstrong reached out to her, stating that he hadn't been able to get in contact with Tasheka.  Tasheka's mother discovered her daughter’s lifeless body in the bedroom of her apartment. The children had been left alone in the residence for more than 14 hours unattended.

What was even more shocking was that Tasheka was 4 months pregnant with her third child at the time of her murder.

Prior to her untimely death, Dericka had been subjected to severe abuse by her adoptive parents, James and Grace Smith, and her cousin Veronica Posey. 

The autopsy revealed that Dericka had bruising and brain swelling, indicating a history of abuse. The medical examiner revealed that Dericka was wearing four pairs of underwear to cushion the frequent beatings that took place in the home.
