Let's talk about our words! In this episode I share what Scripture says about our words and how truly powerful they are. Proverbs 18:21 says "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." This has two-fold significance: our words can sow life or death in our kids, spouses, and friends; and our words have influence over our own hearts and minds. This episode will dive into the way this can play out for better or for worse, and how we as believers are can learn to have a gentle tongue and speak life. So, let's learn together!

In this episode, I talk about the most difficult part of parenting: training up a child, a.k.a discipline. In our culture, even the word discipline creates tension. However, I have been learning that true love calls us, if not commands us, to discipline our children, just as our heavenly Father corrects us (Proverbs 3:12). It is not easy but it is necessary, and there is a just, good, and holy way to approach this part of parenting. From looking in God's Word to practical daily practices, this episode covers our family's current transition in raising our girls. So, let's learn together!

Today we will be taking a look at intentional faith, the process of preparing our hearts for obedience and creating a willing spirit for the Lord’s work. While it is easy to go through the motions of church-living , it is not always easy to live with a "Yes, Lord!" mindset. But intentional faith, the decision to be obedient, to let go of what we want, and submit to whatever the Lord has for us on a day-to-day basis, is life-changing! From the mundane to the chaotic to the unpredictable, intentional faith readies us to walk in the Spirit and fulfill the Lord's calling. So, let's learn together!

As wives, moms, and believers we often set unrealistic expectations for ourselves: we want to be the patient and present wife, the fun, gentle-spoken, has-it-all-together mom, and the faithful and forgiving believer. The only problem? You and I are going to fail. What we learn today, though, is that God's grace covers our failure. This week I share the not-so-fun lesson my two-year-old has been teaching me: submission! Today is all about love and learning to "not seek your own." We will even find that the fall of man relates to submission (or the lack thereof!). Though today's lesson is not an easy one, it is necessary, so let's learn together!
