Hivemapper’s outward-facing dash cams (currently on pre-order) will take pictures of local street views.  The dash cam’s location is proven through encrypted GPS and via the Helium hotspot network. Helium’s network uses radio signals to provide internet coverage to IoT devices and record data on the Helium blockchain. For privacy, the dash cam owner’s ID and dash cam location are de-identified.  Anyone can own part of the Hivemapper mapping network by using the dash cam to earn the mapping network’s native token, HONEY, or by purchasing HONEY on a cryptocurrency exchange. HONEY runs on the Solana blockchain.
