    <description><![CDATA[<p>In this episode we sit down with Detective Darrel Lambert to discuss some interesting topics involving interview and interrogation, confidence in interviewing, crimes against children, and how we can help keep our kids safe. Darrel currently works for a metropolitan police department in the great state of Texas. Prior to his role as a Detective, he spent five years on patrol, one year of undercover work focusing on narcotics purchases, and 4 years on the gang unit. </p><p>In January of 2018 he was promoted to the position of detective where he was assigned to the nighttime violent crimes unit.  In the fall of 2018, he moved to the child abuse unit where he found his true calling. This is also where Darrel saw the importance for ongoing training for interview and interrogation.</p><p>After several years, Darrel stepped into the training arena himself and began teaching. Darrel and his partner have since taught at the Crimes Against Children Conference for the last three years, and in 2023, they formed their own company, Modern Interviewing Solutions. </p><p>Darrel has a passion for teaching and is grateful for the opportunities he has had to teach law enforcement investigators around Central Texas and, starting next year, to departments in other states as well. Along with his teaching, Darrel has also written the manuscript to a book titled &quot;Fundamentals of Interview and Interrogation&quot; which will be published and available for purchase soon.
