Our schedule's have aligned to bring you the most mediocre, midfield, Formula 1 action you can handle! It's just like falling off a bike for us, so we're right back into things, with a quick recap of Austria, our season so far, and just who's actually on our no-talkies list. Let's begin!

13:00 - Audi is in, for now. Ferrari fumbles a Lewis podium. Double dumb energy. Can McLaren get it figured out and make their car a touch more versatile, making a run at the red cars for 2nd place? We digress.

20:40 - Same. But different. We enjoy bashing on Ferrari, so we're gonna keep doing it. They make the sport exciting on their own. Pure class. Patty enjoys the Italian Stallion's troubles at the starting line. The manufactured chaos that ensues is one of the better parts of this season.

35:49 - French bois! We talk Isack and Pierre. Ike has had the opposite approach to starting as the Young Gun, but it ends with the same chaotic mess going into turn one. So, different, but same.. see what I did there? RB2 looking like not total garbage. Noice!

50:35 - Este bestie! Poor lil cheeks need some aloe vera, cause his seat is scorching hot right now. Getting rocked by his teammate in the standings. Audi is our favorite midfield dawgs, clawing at the door of points begging to get in. We get some boldies in quick before we get outta here!

We're back at it with even MORE guests! Thank goodness Dan has been able to fill the gaps during this long break, by bringing in some of our good friends from our F1 Threads crew. This week it's the "Fastest Yap" duo, here to talk race cars, play some QT, and of course be subjected to our awful jokes. Let's dive in with Paige and SK!

18:00 - Right off the bat, Dano's gotta be pickin' bones. If anybody's taking the "pointless" tag, it's the Midfield Pod, and we're ready to fight about it. As always, we get the origin stories, and learn about a crazy new gambling mechanism. Dan had a drool bucket off mic, so we didn't have to replace his carpet. We get the lowdown on "Yapper Standings", and discuss the Youth Movement in F1. Patty adds another bean to the pile he owes.

23:40 - Quuuueeeeesssstionable Trivia baby!! Lando themed this time around. The Yappers fare better than most, probably by ignoring Patrick as much as possible. As usual he bandwagons his way to a couple tallies. Patty drops his hot take on Albon yet again, and people are starting to come around.

Hey there MF'ers!

It's everyone's favorite time of year, new livery season! The smell of fresh paint and burning rubber as a few teams are already hitting the track. We dive in to a few of our favorite, and not so favorite liveries, and play some Questionable Trivia! All with our good friend and co-host Andy! Let's dive in!

9:05 - Special shoes! Starting off sharp with the Haas. Keeping it clean, simple and refined, similar to last year but still a good classic look. We're hoping Haas pulls off a few fun special liveries throughout the season. Rebull looking even more similar to last year's car than the Haas team? If it ain't broke...

15:00 - Audi comin' in HAWT with they're color scheming. Possibly ripping off the McLaren chrome look from last year at Silverstone. It does in fact go to the moon, and the orange inside the intake is a dastardly look.

22:35 - The Mercs, Andy hates 'em. Patrick didn't really look at it and overall we're not too impressed. Quite possibly ruined their car and their season with this total hackjob of a livery. The And-1's of 2026 F1.

29:20 - Let's enjoy talking about Alpine while we still can! Leaning in on the pink is favorable to all of us here at the Midfield Pod. Dan finds a weird shovel and digs a weird hole for a bit. Let's hope they can drive as well as they can paint this year.

33:50 - Boo! Ferrari Boo! We like red cars. Sold their soul for an ugly car. No such thing as bad press, but there is such a thing as a bad livery.

40:50 - Been a long time since I rock 'n rolled. Andy and Patrick agree that there needs to be some gold on this car in some form or another. Looks fake without any sponsorships adorned, but we like the initial look for our American team. Little Williams chat to round things out.

51:30 - This game is the worst thing Patrick participates in every year. What is, Questionable Trivia! Even with Andy's help, he still can't figure out how to crack Dan's questionable questions. Dan slides in some bike racing just for kicks.

Welcome to a new year with The Midfield Podcast!

We talk the darts, we talk the F1, and we even talk the unmentionables. We've got our New Year's resolutions locked in and ready to share. We won't talk about how many we've already broken, but the gloves are off for an official sidebar, so buckle in!

15:30 - Enough being dorks about the World Dart Championships, time for being dorks about next year's flock of F1 teams. We enact a total sidebar, put the beans down and begin our resolutions for each of the F1 teams on the grid next season.

22:10 - McLaren doesn't have much to improve on, but we've still got notes. On to Mercedes. We relish the opportunity to say George, a bit too much probably. Don't over-think it.

26:00 - The Energy Drink Team! Turns out we're a little predictable/repetitive when it comes to our resolutions, but the sentiment remains! Not sure if any of these teams held up to last year's rezzie's, so don't feel bad if you've goofed already too.

35:10 - Ferrari. Lather, rinse and repeat. Williams! One of our favorite's. The tree's good, let's see some fruits. Do these guys have what it takes to lock in and be consistent for the season we've been promised? Will the prophecy be as foretold?! we can't wait. VCARB. Arvid? Arnold. Ahhnald!

46:50 - Aston Martin. These guys need a vibe check. They've got the money, they've got the Newey, it's time to cut loose and have a little fun. No need to be such pouty-pants'. On to Haas. We never hope for an injury, but we have to admit we actually miss Ocon's dickish antics.

62:45 - Pierre needs help, and that's about all there is to say about the frenchies. The newbies! Cadillac and Audi are the hot new tickets, and Patty wants liveries to prove it. Or Checo with a long beard, one or the other. Let the good times roll! We review the bean list, and make some resolutions of our own.

Too many kids at the races! Curious does big arms, and Dan gives us a lesson as to where they came from. Ollie bloops.

29:06 - Spa's outta the way and it's onto the Hungaroring! You cheeky ****'s Aston Martin! No upgrades... pshhh... get outta here. It's been a grip, so we find some nice things to say about our green boi. Tomfoolery and Space Invaders, super-cool double-helicopter shots! Tip of the cap to you F1 production teams. Bad Ollie, bad.

45:00 - A couple fun Darth moments, cause why not? Sister teams and other gripes. 2 teams 3 cars you know the deal. Chucks got a case of the THINGS and maybe this leads to other things? Maybe some cheatin' afoot?! We can only pray that Ferrari's "chassis" is okay.

55:55 - Sauber gets passed in the standings but still looks strong. Dan poses a great hypothetical that would have required a wellness check last February. Only God himself can drive the Redbull, just ask Yuki. Can Williams' early season points hold them till the end? Or will we maybe see a second-half resurgence on the grid for our boys in blue? Albon's done for the year.

We've got another humdinger of an episode! We're halfway through the season and it's time to set our expectations and speculations for the remainder of '25. We break it down team by team and then look ahead again to Spa, again. My elder-cat has taken up residence on my lower back as I type this, so let's dive in!

9:35 - Is Ferrari stepping out like Lewis' slippery back end? Without much discernable motivation, we think these guys will be pumping the brakes real hard. We dip into Mercedes and have some trouble navigating those waters without saying the NAME yet again. Dan get's down with a TRIPLE DING!

10:45 - Check the tape baby! Patrick shares his vast knowledge of German culture, and with that his thoughts for Mercedes' plan for the rest of the season. Is the great Ding-a-nator in the perfect pickle? We snack some beans and load up the scoreboard yet again. Beef Ramen.

17:05 - We love a Redbull double-suck finish. Darth out early and relying on Yuki? Yes please, we'll be saying his name before the end of the year, mark my text. Either way, he's got a perfect ass, and can't be bothered to try to restart after running getting run into... I digress. We drop a sidebar, to decide who's in and who's out of the bottom half of the midfield.

29:00 - All of Sauber and Liam BACK into the The Midfield talkie contention! Lift and coast please Chuck! Not listening=not arguing, Ferrari has the same mentality as our podcast! Netflix shot! That's what you get for coming in like a wrecking ball.

41:00 - Ricky Bortoleto, not sure what to do with his hands. Dano recaps his P10 selection without the heart and soul of the team this weekend, as Patty was in the Northwoods. All maths and no feelings got us hammered this weekend, and we may not even still be in the running this year, but Patrick doesn't know, cause he can't find the P10 Challenge standings or our own Patreon. We're a frenchie-sized mess most weeks.

11:15 - #SH*Tthecouch! We've got our teams ranked, by a popular television show and song comparison! We agree, we disagree, it works, it falls apart in shambles, it's everything and nothing all wrapped up together in a weird box that smells questionable at best.

14:30 - That damned Bond villain gets to Patrick again. It's bean time for our buddy, and it's a bad one too. It's gross, but it keeps us honest and on our toes. If we're lucky, our goofy takes will stick in your heads, like a bad bean between our teeth.

46:50 - Boy that was fun wasn't it?! Time to look ahead to Canada, where we WILL see Lance on the track in some capacity. We're hoping for some weather this weekend as we send them boys around the track a few more times.

Ring ding dong Midfielders!

Imola. Just Imola, or was it? A race we (quite vocally) weren't too jazzed about ahead of the weekend. Were we vindicated, or will be forced to eat crow? Or just gross beans. WHO earns the mystical double ding?!

24:25 - From Argentina, to Philly and back again. We've worked our way up into FP2, when the fun actually starts. Davide gets roasted by a 10 year old, and we couldn't be prouder. Darth battles the Thing and Patrick learns about radio coms. The first of the beans is eaten.

40:45 - FP3, Dan multitasked and Patrick took horrible notes. Sunday drives on Saturday and leftover counter-gyros. Fernando's still old. How soft is too soft? C6. Them's plenty soft. Bean numero dos is consumed, and this one is less forgiving.

53:55 - Yuki takes a ride up the wall in Q1. Dumb redflags make for an hour long session. Fake it till you make it highlighter cars. Dan is pro safety. Aston Martin makes Q3 on the mediums with the slickest move of the F1 season. Mega-lappa!

1:17:55 - We said some nice things, and then talked about the Jr's. We give ol' Flaavio a pass this weekend, don't worry we'll get back to him. A look forward to Monaco this weekend. Who's ready for Saturday!?

35:05 - We're off our Pedal Pub and down into Sprint Quali. We begin our seemingly weekly Ferrari bashing. Maybe someday we'll leave this dead horse alone, but not today. Drifting safety cars are dope.

52:20 - Even Indiana Jones knows HE DONE! Done like Ollie's power unit. The battles were intense on the track AND on the radio. Don't worry, Dan's got the official transcript in all of its glory.

He's the leader of the Good Guy Club that's who. We dig into our buddy Squishy Boots missing the national anthem. Turns out his boots were squishy from not tears this time!

40:15 - Haas bags a point with the rookie. Not a good weekend for his partner. A quiet but productive weekend for Fernando. Unfortunately his teammate was also not a great performer. A no DNF weekend tho! That's real good for our boy in green, atta kid.

48:10 - It's everyone's favorite segment! And the one we struggle with the most. We say nice things, kinda. Jr's turn, how 'bout that Ike? Another driver with issues in his pantaloons, but again putting up big numbers and a decent race. We'll see him in Clown Car in a couple weeks. Who's got a shorter leash? Liam Or Jack, get your bets in now!

67:25 - Bahrain preview! We already got one of these for preseason testing early this year, but it'll be fun to see some actual competition on the track this time around. If you run into any of our friends out there be sure and say hi! We get a lil' inside scoop from Big T over at the Coffee Corner.

71:25 - What's that there?! Music to Patrick's ears! It's the sweet ding of bean time! The score is 3 to 1 in favor of Patty and that should shock everybody. Does Dan get a tasty treat, or a mouthful of yuck? Oh the suspense.

It's tough to find two different ways to get DQ'd, unless you're Dan's BOLDIE. 'Rari needs new shorts! Dan's got jokes.

29:45 - Working their way back into contention, the Bad Boys make their debut in The Midfield. Will this roller coaster of a team level off and remain a talking point throughout the season? We can't wait to find out.

32:50 - It's that time once again! Our boy has been making it easy on us this year. Lance has been putting the screws to Fernando, so we have no problems finding nice things to say about our lil Canadian buddy. It's easy to look good when your teammate isn't even on the standings. Bomb-bees.

38:55 - We don't really spend the rest of this episode ripping into the Jr's. But we DEFINITELY could! We break down a bit of our P10 challenge strategy. Our loss this week was in the cards unfortunately. Thankfully, it's a long season. The Yuki P10 curse, we're not still bitter, we're not. Jackie's a menace. Dan earns a second, late bean.

Our boy had a pretty good weekend beating his teammate and finishing the race. Starting the season better than Ferrari's got to feel nice, let's hope they enjoy it while it lasts.

42:07 - Up next it's Sauber at P6? Can you tell it rained the first race of the season or what? Hulk doing Hulk stuff, but is this car actually better than last year? Probably not, but it's good to be able to talk about these guys for at least a little while longer. We also get into Ferrari and some squishy cheeks.

57:58 - Juniors! The little baby bulls didn't have a great showing but we have high hopes. Ike gets a double debut in China and this car has more to show than the rainy session was able to let shine through. We discuss some potentially dangerous driving from some of the old pros as well.

69:00 - Back to Shanghai for another awesome GP. We get ready with a brief preview. Best seats, tires, track, all the good stuffs. It's a sprint so less practice means more chaos. Brutal time zone for us Central US folk, but we set up our next BOLDIES anyways.

3:30 - We already know Terry's background and origin story, go check it out on his first episode! We dive right in with what his take-aways were from '25 testing. Floods are a-comin' cause we're busting out the sandbags. Terry like's Kimi's potential, but what does he expect to get out of Liam Lawsoms this season? Didn't know there was gonna be a quiz didja?!

13:30 - We try to get Terry's favorite team or driver, but he's too much of a lover for that. Loves his Senna and everybody else, who can blame him? 8:25 - SPA suckas! It's no secret that Belgium hosts our favorite race here at The Midfield Podcast. We're suckers for elevation change and passing opportunities, no big whoop! Unfortunately we get into the summer stretch a bit, and end up with some lengthy bye weeks. 2 races in 7 weeks? Not a good ratio.

15:45 - With Aston, Mercedes, and summer break out of the way it's time to get into the good stuffs. The Dutch and Italian GP's as well as cracking into the top teams. One or two of which we won't be able to talk about this season, so let's enjoy it while we can. Bangers after the break, it's gonna be a great batch of races to the school year.

44:04 - Dan puts in some seriously strange prep work, good thing Patty's got his back. Wait, did I get that right? Yup! Dan takes a deep dive into "goin' full 'rrari" in the 2022 season. It's rough, but it's a good time going back in time to see the same ol' mistakes again and again.

091 - Floors to Ceilings! 2025 Season Preview Pt. 1

What a wonderous web we weave Midfielders!

It's great to be back to basics, we'll miss our friends but they'll be back soon. Another huge round of applause to everyone who helped make the offseason listen-able to our Midfield fans. We couldn't have done it without you, but now we're going to. Off to the new season! Dan's got us swerving like a Guy Ritchie movie, so try and hang on!

3:28 - The tops and bottoms of each team's potential this year. In this case it's kind of bottoms-bottoms, we start with Sauber. We agree that this team doesn't have much to work with, and probably isn't going to try all that hard either, what with them becoming Audi at the end of the year anyways. We discuss the first three tracks of the season, let's get some shrimps on the barbie!

12:58. - Woah there Williams! Patty's got some big hopes and dreams for you guys this season. Is Carlos the key? Can they place as high as the guys think is possible for James Vowles and our striking blue favorites? It'll be easier with a few less cars getting rebuilt. Boom! Triple header! 5 GP's in a month to start the year? Let's get after it! At least this latter section has some more reasonable start times for the CST.

25:10 - Red Bull Jr! Aww lookit how cyoote! Don't try to church it up Dirt, you're the top teams baby bro, and we're gonna not like you, as much as we don't like him. Yuki + rookie = nothing to shake a stick at in 2025 says Patrick. One of the teams we're least excited about next season. We get into some bye weeks and sprints on the schedule. We get a home race in Miami to start the bout, and then it's the car-testing, good-qualifying, Saturday stretch.

38:32 - Let's talk about Haas baby, let's talk about you and me! Let's talk Este Bestie and the doctor, with big Gene! Go ahead and sing that, it works rhythmically-thank me later. What will it take for the pocketbooks to finally cave? What happens if these guys come out blastin'? It's a weird set-up that's for sure. We made it to June in the schedule, and it's a boot time dere ay!

51:56 - We wrap the show on Alpine. Patrick thinks we may have a french sleeper on our hands in 2025. On of his "un-puntables" of the season, however Dan disagrees. We both agree that Pierre Gastly is the man, and that we're not gonna watch F1-75. Dan has premonitions and future sight, so we already know what happens anyways. We slide in a questionable trivia. Patty does some sleuthing, and it matters not.

As always we find how the Dirty Side found F1, each other, and then podcasting. Brian being a fellow Wisconsinite obviously has our favor, and then Rob's well, from across the pond, he gets a +1 INT just for having a european accent. What kind of chairs?!

19:18 - For a brief moment we'll get back on track with the Dirty Side's favorite midfield driver. They went with two of our favorites! These guys want to do karate in the garage!? Will they make a run at the P10 Challenge Champs?! Brian has a background in fantasy sports that is as strong as it is long-lived, so fingers crossed.

30:24 - It's Glock o'clock! Damn I'm good. Dan cracks into this walnut and boy oh boy is it over Patrick's head. A newfound hero though, being the most infamous midfielder of all time. Damn Dan's good. What is the best time for podcasters to watch races? Early, especially if you're rocking the early pub-showing with Rob. Garnish with Cheeto's for ultimate form.

Just a little mind-melting scat to start us out as we bring in the freshest face to the Midfield guest lineup. It's our new friend Matt Trumpets from the Missed Apex Podcast! Tires baby! He's all four 'em! No more puns I swear. The man knows his rubber, and we know very little! 2025 is shaping up to be a Goodyear for the Midfield, okay for serious I'm done now.

Into the origins with Mr. Trumpets! He spins his yarn from an early love of cycling in the dawn (literally) of the network television explosion. That's right kids, pre-streaming, you had to get up early to see things! My back hurts and I need an alka seltzer. But falling for F1 by proxy, and dedicating his mind to tires with a force that only a world class performer could.

Viscoelasticity! Seriously my brain is still a puddle of goo from discussing tires. We get Matt's take on some of the "Technical Directives". It's good to have a guy like Matt on our team, who's been following the sport for a long enough to help us understand the mushy, flippy-floppy, lawyer-speak them fancy city-race car folk do! Fiddle-brakes! Hey, if ya ain't cheatin', ya ain't racin'.

Hey there Midfielders! The final race of the season! The champions have been chosen, on (and off) the grid! Like Williams, we're amazed we've made it this far, and are thankful for a spell of some off season shenanigans. But before we pop the champaign and crown the victors, it's time for one last rundown from the top-down!

26:30 - We took down the first half of the grid. Ferrari, George, and a little bit of true midfield splashed throughout. Now to the Astons. A real off-year for our color-sake team. We had dreams of Fernando-plums dancing through our heads, for our P10 pick this week, and he put in a solid job taking P9. Lance though...

29:00 - We didn't forget, YOU almost forgot, we said something nice about Lance YET AGAIN. Say whatever you will, we probably said more nice things about Lance Stroll than any other pundits in 2024. #winning. We talk Frenchies, we talk GM and Cadillac, we get into all the gravy. Haas, Haas is the gravy.

53:45 - VCARB. Perhaps not the right choice to close out the final race weekend, but hey, we went there. Patty's got his noises back! (Heads up for the impact drill SFX...) We're a lil spent after a long season of being so superiorly mediocre, and are looking forward to the off season as much as Ocon.

23:10 - So Midfield he gets his own transition! It's our favorite Mexican Midfielder, Sergio Perez. Our P10 winner, AND the man who placed The Midfield Podcast BACK on top of the P10 Challenge leaderboard. Dan had the feelin', the ju-ju in his bones, as we continue our march toward mediocre excellence.

35:50 - We do the thing! It's everybody's favorite thing! It's that thing where we Say Something Nice! We toss around a few hypothetical new career choices for our favorite Canadian boy. Dan keeps us all juicy, juiced up, if you will, with his breakdown of the Haas performance.

Porgie had a good shot early, but like our papaya boy, didn't quite get the strat right. 17:34 - Two truths and a who gives a S#%@, it's Aston Martin! A give up before the race, and a real "tough guy" radio call from the other. We argue semantics, and manage to squeeze in Something Nice. Will these guys be able to hold the lead they built over the rest of the Kirkland band midfield with their recent downturn in performance? We're not gonna talk about that, moving on!

34:50 - VCARB! I said VCARB Patty pay attention! A good weekend from these midfielders. Lawson was our guy for the P10 challenge and good ol' LBPS done us good! Atta boy Earl! Ollie Bearman does his due diligence in a Haas and picks up 2 penalty points. Can't wait to see his new Bad Boyz tattoo!

44:35 - Williams! These guys do more rebuilds than the Jacksonville Jaguars. Arguably the most expensive team on the grid this season, but hey it's quantity over quality here. Another huge bummer for one of our favorite teams, hopefully they'll patch some things together after a little break and put the goodfoot forward for the last few races.

55:35 - Race direction? Dan's got some notes... We talk consistency, conspiracy, and safety. How does one actually start a race in the rain when someone crashes on the formation lap? Throw a tin of Copenhagen off the bridge and see who jumps!

14:40 - The Mercs! A tough weekend for our silver arrows. One wall, one gravel trap, these guys are a pretty easy breakdown this week. It's a bummer to see a couple of our favorite midfielders take one on the chin, but Georgie still made something happen in the end.

22:20 - We hit up the team that shares our livery, and are dragged into, yet again, saying something nice about our favorite Canadian. We discuss some new ideas for race penalties, and get all juiced up over our Haas boys as usual. We touch on VCARB, and the excitement we have for Yuki's future.

We had a wild weekend away from race cars, and from each other! We share some travel stories, give a little nod to our boy Danny Ric, and then get right back into that which you love; our mediocre takes on the F1 midfield action! And here it is!

8:00 - We start it out hot with Questionable trivia. Patty doesn't do quite as well as last week, but still mediocre, which is what we love. He's still petitioning some of the questions on the basis of the wording, but it will come to no avail. Can you beat Patrick's Kirkland brand score? It's not too hard.

23:25 - Getchur pencils, getchur books! It's time for F-101 sucka! Professor Dan takes us through the penalties and what they mean/their significance come race day. Of course we're gonna take another shot at PMag.

27:20 - We gots another shout out! While Patrick's working on his trivia skills, Dan's working on his shout out skills. Baby steps.

As this episode releases hurricane Milton will be wreaking havoc through Florida. Our hearts go out to those stuck in the storms path, and we pray for the best.

A snoozer?! What're you guys talkin' 'bout?! Dan and our constituents on Threads are bashing this recent race in Singapore. We got Hot, we got Not, we got it all, except 2 top teams and 2 bottom teams, cause this is The Midfield baby! Let's get into it!

0:00 - Intros/ Ferrari. Good but bad. On again off again. Off again on again. I believe we call that blinking. We compare the Italians to the highlighter cars, and then to a Lego car. Maybe take your sweet car, and your top drivers and do something worthwhile? Maybe? It MIGHT happen..

8:30 - The Silver Arrows! Car looked great, drive looked mediocre to be honest. We think this might be the peak of the mountain for Mercedes this year. They're always around to pick up the scraps. Toto and the boys seem to be grasping at straws and throwing the Hail Mary's, and we're all for it. Let 'er rip, tater chip!

17:35 - It's everybody's favorite segment! We Say Something Nice about our favorite Canadian driver. It's getting tougher, but we're pretty creative. We get into VCARB and all the juicy drama. Danny? Out. Yuki? Still Yuki. We think it's time to lay down the Lawson come COTA.

25:53 - Our bad boys are back at it! Hulkster for the P10 pick. PMag is free and clear and loving life, penalty-free after his recent race ban. Quite vocal about it too in fact. The bouncer of the midfield is revealed, and he's a force to reckoned with, leather jacket and all.

30:10 - Williams! Patty's changed his tune mightily! Frankie's got these guys hummin', and we're on board. Dan's been on board most of the season, but it's been tough with Logie dragging down the team. More points in 2 races than Logan in 36? Dude's trying to tango with the top teams in a Williams. Bad. Ass. The L-Pines are out.

37:10 - Gyro cam! SO sick. Favorite camera of all time. Patty loves Singapore, Dan's not as impressed. Aesthetically pleasing, but at the cost of exciting racing? Clearly the heat has severe impact, maybe we reign it in a lil bit? Shout outs baby!

We had yet another explosive weekend on the track. We were just blown away by the papaya performance. We talk teams we shouldn't necessarily, and tease the heartbreak of a premature exit by our favorite Mexican Midfielder. Let's push deep into this week's tantalizing episode.

13:30 - The arrows! The Trash Man! Garbage points are what? That's right, points baby. Garbage cars are what? Lewis' car, at least this weekend it seemed. A rough go all three days for the champ. Unable to make the leaps of old this weekend, Hamilton was near the back of the pack while his teammate scrapes a podium off the cutting room floor. Mercedes taking what they can get, seems to be their M.O. this year.

17:15 - We share some fatherly thoughts on potentially the spoiled-est driver on the track, but as always, we find a way to say something nice. Fernando is our Kirkland King! Loves to race, when he wants to race, and if he wants to help us in our P10 challenge? What more can we ask for?

25:00 - VCARB. V-disappointing. Yuki got taken out by daddy's boi, and Danny's been struggling. We talk possibilities for Riccairdo's future, and not too many of them are in a seat. We tie in the Bad Boys as well. Ollie had a sick weekend and we're big on this kid. He's got a good head on his shoulders, and realizes the difference between A point, and points. Good job Bearman. Williams kept it cool during quali and we've got a new nickname for our potentially untalkable Frenchies. Questionable Trivia!

58-50 - Track facts! We may or may not be working on a fancy new jingle for that, we'll see. Dan breaks down the tires, and the track for the Singapore GP and gives a quick lil' history lesson as well. We make some BOLDIES as well as recap Patrick's misfortune from last week yet again.

0:00 - Intros/Italian vs. Dutch GP's. Easy pickins, and that's not just our opinion man, that's YOURS! Real live poll results? Man, we are on our game.

3:35 - A double dinger?! C'mon Patty, ties the score in one sentence. It's hard to avoid our favorite papaya boys when they had such an excellent battle with the Ferrari's on Sunday. A surprising one-stop puts Charlie on the podium! Both red cars looked good, and done It-lee proud. Good job.

12:15 - Georgie Porgie was full-up on pizza and ready to tangle with The Mexican Midfielder. He was up and down and out and in all day Sunday, but managed to fanagle his way into 7th overall, and snuggled right between the Blue Team cars as well. Well done Porgie Pizza Pie, the crust is perfect. We touch on Lewis about as much as the F1 broadcasters did, or so it seemed. Quiet weekend from ol' Faithful.

16:55 - It's that team we love to hate. We put our eggies in Lance's basket this week for the P10 challenge and boy-oh-daddies-boy were we mistaken. Dan thinks he's cracked the code, as to his ENORMOUS drop off at the end of the race. Despite all this, we find a way to say some nice things.

33:52 - The Bad Boys. Sadly their cool leather jackets and toothpicks caught up to to our Haas brothers. Hulkster deked us out of choosing him for P10 by spending all practice sessions in the gravel, and Dan nails his BOLDIE as PMag finally scoops up his race ban. It's okay buddy, take a race to cool off, and we'll see you soon.

066 - The Dutch Dilemma - A Zandvoort Recap

AAAaaaand we're back!
After a less than exciting sunday in Zandvoort, Dan and Patrick are here to break down all the action. We take action of our own, and finally omit "The Orange Team" from our talkables list. Patty shows off his new whiteboard on an audio-only podcast, good for him, and we get our engines primed for the Temple of Speed. Coming in HOT right outta the break with one of our favorite tracks. Can we make it through the race without terrible fake-italian accents? Unlikely at best.

20:14 - Brief touch on the red cars and the mercs. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all, so we're moving right along to the guys we love to say nice things about! Aston Martin! It's a little easier if you pick a session to compliment as opposed to the weekend as a whole.

24:30 - Patty's hot under the collar. He's all spiced up over VCARB. Betrayed by Yuki and losing the top spot in the P10 Challenge. Down but not out! We have faith in our ability to return to the top spot, but does VCARB have what it takes to stay on top of the Kirkland Brand Midfield? Seemingly one driver will, per weekend, but never both...

44:20 - Williams widdles weight! Either by shaving it off the the sides of the car or leaving it in the wall during P3. We're very glad the Screamin' Eagle is okay and unhurt as far as we know, but his season wrapped like his car around those guardrails. We're excited about the new driver at Williams for the remainder of the season.

56:35 - BOLDIE time! Dan's going after the PMagnet this weekend. Will he keep it clean for YET ANOTHER week in a row?! Monza's basic according to Patrick, so he's dogging the Mexican Midfielder. Kinda negative with our BOLDIES this week, but hey, a little skepticism is healthy amiright?

We're wrapping up our silly seasons and are headed back to reality. School's starting back up, NFL season is on the horizon, and the F1 summer break is almost over! We're headed to Nederland for Darth's home race. It's okay, we only take a thousand cuts at the Dutch this episode. Hang on to your weird bicycle as we get ready for the Dutch GP.

2:30 - F1's sending down the no-no's from the top, means bad news for those of us trying to squeeze a nickel out of the cash-cow of top-tier racing. ARE YOUR FAVORITE F1 CORRESPONDENTS TOTALLY DONE FOR?!?!? Of course not. But we break down this, and many other news tidbits, that Dan has scraped off the bottom of the barrel before we get back to the second half of the season.

12:40 - Bring back the hate! Well, just a little bit. Are the FIA and the powers that be pulling the reigns too hard on the drivers and principals when it comes to race-day criticism? It's not our place to judge, but we're OBVIOUSLY gonna weigh in our small-town opinions on the matter. Either way, mean people suck, and if you can't be nice, be funny.

18:45 - Tires!? Tracks? Cars? Oh yeah, there IS a race season still happening. It's been a minute since Dan has given us a Pirelli preview and boy does it have us all juiced and ready for another weekend on the track. We make some BOLDIES and some less-than-liklies? Patty needs to braven up a bit if he wants a bold claim, but we still love him.

38:33 - VCARB. Despite tanking from the start of the race these guys don't drop places. Danny got point, and Yuki made the good fight from P60. These guys love to keep the Kirkland brand midfield rockin' and rolling.

41:10 - A new bad boy's in town! We couldn't be more excited to have one of the rowdiest racers on the grid in a Haas uniform for 2025. Estie Bestie's been signed to drive alongside a rookie Ollie Bearman, what could possibly go wrong? We. Can't. Wait.

44:00 - Slip sliding into Alpine. Not much to say about poor Pierre. His car hasn't worked right and he hasn't seemed himself since his big break up with Ocon. Hopefully he can regroup a bit over the break and give the french team a reason to stay on the circuit.

52:15 - Not much to say about Williams in Belgium, other than the fact that this is the race we found out Carlos is ready to squish it up in blue instead of red. Is James Vowles an F1 mastermind, and will we look really dumb this-time next year? Pigs can't fly, but I've seen some jump pretty high.

We've got da juice, ta bring ya da newss! Internet restored and back to racing just in time for the Hungarian Grand Prix! Dive in with us as we break down all the action from last weekend's race and get ready with us for next weekend with a few track facts from Belgium. This episode's got it all!

0:00 - Intros/Big ups to Jesus. Dan gives us some reactions to his polls and we start out hot, with our race winners right off the bat. McLaren got nasty all weekend long, with a strat so good they left us all wondering why not make a run for your lead driver? We get into all the Papaya confusion, possibly for one of the last times this season. Until then, go Oscie go!

15:50 - Looked better, but still looked Ferrari. Brought some good upgrades, and got a 4th and 6th, but still looking like a real 3-4 instead of the 1-2 they would like to be. Maybe 2 superstars behind the wheel isn't the best strategy, especially when they both'a drive'a like'a crappa!

21:35 - Louie Louie! Woah-OH! 2-hundy baby! Porgie has a bad quali but Lewis was there to save the day for the silver arrows. A rare-fuel miscommunication on Mercedes' end, but the future is looking bright for our Premier Midfield British drivers. Just like mom, if Toto's happy, we're all happy.

33:10 - A bunch of upgrades gone awry! Our truck-ish Aston Martins had a mediocre weekend, which is just how we like em. Thanks to our inside-man Mark Schofield, we found out about a lil not-so-nicey's at the end of the race between Daddy's Boy and our favorite Spaniard. Should've given it back Lance. We still find a way to say something nice about our selfish little stinker.

42:43 - VCARB. Questionable pit strategies leave Danny out to dry? Possibly. Doesn't stop Yuki from crushing a one-stop. Lots of question marks flying around this team, as one of them looks to be the clear-cut favorite to replace the Mexican Midfielder on the top team.

48:42 - Quiet weekend from our bad boys. The Haas boys were waiting to strike on the top 10, but didn't quite get a chance to grease their way in there. Caught up in undercut fascination, Nico came in early, like way early, and it didn't really pan out. We love your weird strategies Haas, keep 'em comin'.

0:00 - Intros/A quick recap of the British GP. Houston wasn't the only soggy place over the weekend! A bit of on and off rain during the race kept the strategies up in the air, and us on the edge of our seats. Our Midfield guys had a heck of a weekend, scoring points all over the place. A bad boy in 6th? A Williams with points? Total madness mate!

9:20 - The boys make some picks for the upcoming race and continue the good fight against the bad-internet goblins. We love McLaren, what else is new? Dan does a lil' track preview, and lil' complainin' about our beloved Hungarian GP. Just the name(s), the track's a gem. Patty gets his mind blown by the double DRS single-detection zone concept.

16:02 - F1 MOVIE!? It's got a really dynamic name and trailer, and a Brad PItt, so that's neat. We start lickin' our silly season chops with some more drama from our boi Squishy Boots. How will he shake up the grid as he appears to have said sayonara to Williams?

Welcome back Midfielders! We had a real sizzler in the Energy Drink Ring this past weekend! A real mixup on the top steps which was ever-so refreshing. We know you're all excited for our groundbreaking analysis and heart-stopping takes, so let's waste no time and get right into another excellent week of Midfield action!

0:00 - Intro's/ How we partook in Sunday's super showdown, one park-bound the other couch-locked, reach out to us on our socials and let us how you like to enjoy your race day!

4:00 - Red cars, won and done! Booked and cooked! Carlos gets a podium and Charlie's eyes get left in the rearview as he barely escapes the points. These guys need to get it together to remain relevant in the constructors.

7:41 - McLaren! Woooaaahhhh there! Easy girl! Too much more outta you and we'll have to stable ya with the Energy Drink Team. Another amazing showing from the papayas, and a near double podium! We'll take all the excitement we can get while we can still talk about The Zak Brown Band.

15:00 - Mercs! How can we have so many Midfield teams do SO well and we haven't even hit the winner?! Oh yeah, Darth and Lando, but still! Georgie Porgie was the guy ready to scoop up the ball and take it past the goal line. The Silver Arrows are storming, but is it enough to catch the orange and blue cars?

20:00 - A quick laugh at the Mexican Midfielder. Checo does Checo things, we're not surprised, but we love it!

22:58 - It's getting tougher and tougher to find nice things to say about EITHER of the Astons these days, but we find a way. We've got waning interest from Fernando and a real lack of performance from Daddy's Boy.

28:20 - VCARB? More like V-Questionable. Yuki's sliding and Danny's mediocre at best. Their position at the top of the Kirkland Brand table is tentative to say the least. We'll go a head and squish them right in there with our favorite new French homies! They might not be flying up the table, but we love the drama, we love how even they are, we love how many P10 Challenge Points these goofs have scored us in previous weeks! P9-11 is about as Midfield as it can get. J'adore!

34:23 - Bad boys bad boys, what you gonna do?! As usual these guys keep it fun on the track and really just do their own thing. Can Magnussen keep it clean for yet another consecutive race and deny yet another BOLDie? We're on the edge of our vandalized seats.

38:10 - Dan gives us a track preview, and waffles a bit on his pronunciation. That's okay, it's about to get waaaay worser. Say what you want about the Brits, they build a damn fine race track. Likelihood of rain, high, its the UK... looking forward to seeing the drivers be put to the test as usual.

41:00 - We get into our Brit-ish name game! We had a great response from our listeners as Patrick slaughters the names of people's homes, so we're back at it again. We've even added a second bit to see if Patrick can sniff out if these screwy names are even real or not! Great fun all around!

Welcome back Midfielders! Get settled in with us as we recap the Spanish Grand Prix. We travel down the constructor's table re-living all the glorious action from a sun-drenched Spain. All this, some BOLDies (old and new!), and a look ahead to the Austrian GP. It's lights out and away we go on this week's episode of the Midfield!

6:15 - Starting at the top, or are we? Patty's favorite red cars aren't looking as good as they're supposed to, and we're slightly concerned. For the start of a triple-header, this is not the look you're going for. At least the boots are stayin' wet and the violins are stayin' warm.

13:05 - Good day McLaren! Had an excellent start to the weekend, and managed to keep it locked in to finish on the podium. We're talking about Lando of course. Oscie can't find his way past P5 in the last several races, and we think Lando could use a little backup on the grid and in the points. Although if they do too much better we won't be able to talk about them anymore.

18:10 - Dan almost lands last week's BOLDie! Just a position off, but still within the same team! You love him, we love him, everybody loves Hambo! Another smooth circuit from the resurfacing silver arrows of Mercedes. The boys get into a "killer" debate about George, and we feel we'll see some truer colors of our little Englishman in the remaining double-header.

25:30 - Checo made Q3 and turned himself into a baguette! Always neat when you're in the best car hanging out with the Alpines. Sell that merch Sergio. We get into some questionable ad placements, and questionable everything-VCARB.

31:10 - We dip into Aston Martin, about as much as the production crew over the weekend. We say something nice, and that's about all there was to say about the green guys. Quiet weekend from 'Nando and Daddy's Boy.

33:35 - Our latest favorites! P10 Challenge victors this week. The mediocre moves of Esteban Ocon prove just groovy enough for us to remain atop our meaningless mountain. Does the Kirkland brand midfield have a new champion? Keep it rolling, keep it French.

45:25 - Dan gives us a track preview as we look ahead to the Austrian Grand Prix. Little bit of everything in the energy drink ring. Looking forward to melting rubber through 3 DRS zones and a sprint weekend to boot! Wowzers, what a weekend awaits!

WwWelcome back Midfielders! What a wet 'n wild-watery-wacetwack ok that's enough. Soggy conditions kept the questions coming all weekend in Quebec. What else did the Gilles Villeneuve Montreal Grand Prix have in store for us? Let's dive in!

0:00 - Intros/ What did we learn? The rainy conditions and new surface created a bajillion learning opportunities, did the boys pick up on any? Maybe. Probably learned more than Ferrari. The boys start the breakdown from the top-down, after kickin' the red cars while they're down.

6:58 - McLaren. One word. Juicy. Yet another hotshot weekend for our soccer-dad team principal Zak Brown. 2 and 5? Grab another ice-cold one from the cooler, roll the dog on the grill a few more times, kick-back and enjoy the good times in the McLaren backyard bbq. Just be sure to kiss the cook.

10:00 - The Silver Arrows are BACK baby! Mom and Dad went to the cabin for the weekend letting these two English drivers run wild through Canada. While we think 3rd is a much bigger W than George wants to admit, we're not hopeful that this success continues. Someone's called the fuzz, this party's about to be broken up. Pout harder George you're about to be grounded to 6th in a hurry.

18:05 - Aston Martin, our color-sake team. Solid, quiet weekend from our forest-green favorites. We applaud Fernando and say some nice things about the hometown hero. We make a leap to a possible change-up in talkables, is the Mexican Midfielder in? You decide! Head over to our threads page to weigh in! He's been driving real kirkland like, despite having a better car than everyone else. Dan gets riled.

25:05 - On to VCARB and Dan still hasn't cooled off much. Dig into Danny Ric! Dig! Unfortunate race for Yuki, but we are still loving what we're seeing from these guys. Solid quali's by both drivers and a late-race spin to dump Yuki into 14th. We love when teammates get the go-ahead to do battle on track.

30:36 - Haas. Did a fantastic job of keeping things fun this weekend on the wet tire. Patty was excited, he does some quick maths, and is loving the PMag early-race strategy. Couldn't catch the lucky safety car they needed to sandbag their way into some points, but we loved watching our leather jacket-clad bad boys, crushing their way up the field.

34:55 - For a team that scored points, Dan's ire continues. Quick semi lap for Mr. Doohan at the end of FP1, and a race finishing with both cars in the points? WHAT could one possibly get upset about?! Este and Dan are fixin' to tell ya, and not just a little bit. Ocon gets his own Squishy Violin! Dan's now steaming.

41:20 - Dan's in Patrick's out. There's only one of these Williams drivers ever deserving of our attention, and Patrick thinks he's had enough. After taking some of the heat off Dan's shoulders, we decide to shove the whole team into the Drawer of Unmentionables.

Dan helps us understand the Pirelli tire preview, and it appears we're gonna get another look at the super-soft C5.

8:18 - More history!? Dan gives a lil recap of what happened during last year's grand prix. The boys play a lil two truths and a lie, AND a lil two lies and a truth. Dan shares a few more lil fun facts, and Patrick hates on Lance, just a lil more. All the lil things add up to quite a tasty lil segment here!

14:52 - Alpine, Alpine, Alpine... One strike and yer ooouta here Este! Looks like the spikiness has finally caught up to one of the drivers that makes us say, meh. The Frenchies think they can find someone better than Ocon behind Gasly next year, and so do we. Hopes are high for literally anyone with a sense of teamwork to fill the Alpine void in 2025.

21:45 - Class is in session! That's right! It's another installment of Formula 1-01! This week's subject: Sectors! Dan clarifies what the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sectors mean, as well as the colors that show up during the sessions. What a helpful dood! Patrick'd sure be hosed without Dan's excellent teaching skills.

25:10 - Last but certainly not least, it's time for the BOLDies. Patrick returns to his beloved red cars while Dan takes the p10 challenge on early! We lock in our vote before practice sessions, that's how confident we are in Aston mediocrity.

Welcome back Midfielders! Whew! What. A. Saturday. A pinch- a dash of action, early in the race Sunday and then a total snooze-fest. But we're not gonna complain about that! Buckle in as we tackle all the action from the Monaco Grand Prix.

1:46 - Red cars go fast in Monaco. Not a team we usually praise for strategy, but it really seemed like everyone was pulling on the rope in the same direction last weekend. Good job Charles. Good job (luck) Carlos. Good job Tifosi.

5:40 - Dan is sliding around these transitions as smooth as Oscar smoothed his way around Monaco. McLaren's got yet ANOTHER high energy, high pace grand prix under their belts, and it's got our feathers ruffled. The speculation machines start burning up when the top team doesn't crack the top 5!

10:20 - Seriously! Almost got the silver arrows past me! Slippery ol' Dan. But really, Dan's transition's are smoother and more interesting than anything Mercedes last weekend. Was it a smile of complacency on Toto's face this weekend? Are the Benz Bois a REAL midfield team? Should we tell the president the sky is falling? We're as confused as Lewis and the garage and everyone at Mercedes.

19:00 - Our favorite forest green midfielders. Have we entered Fernando's mid-season slump? Sure seem's so. We say some nice things, and offer our boy Alonso a towel. I'd be sweating, being number two to Lance as well...

23:12 - Finally I catch a break, a real transition, one worthy of our sweet SFX. VCARB. Probably our favorite team at the moment. Yuki is crushing the midfield, while Danny keeps it on the track. Can't ask much more from the Energy Drink's younger brother. As always, when the No.2 driver doesn't perform and Yuki does, we start speculating.

27:33 - Let's talk about Haas baby, let's talk about you and me. Let's talk about all the bad things and penalties PMag will bring. Our resident bad boys are at it again, spinkling pieces and parts all over the tarmac like Salt 'N Pepa. Gene's not happy..

32:00 - Redemption time! We un-crust an uncrustable and dust off our English friends over at Williams. Albon scores some points and Patrick's not impressed. Are things looking up, or is Patrick right, and will we expect to see more of the same mundane season Vowle's has had so far.

36:35 - Not learning any lessons in Miami, the frenchies try going side by side through Monaco. Spoiler alert, it didn't end well. With Ocon rolling over Pierre's tire, trashing his car, and racking up a 5 place grid penalty for the next race, it's really hard to notice Gasly's greasy lil' point. What is a drastic French measure?

0:00 - Intros/Crazy Italian names! Driver draft results! Doesn't matter how fast you say his name Patrick, Fernando didn't do you any favors. Sech fun! We start our breakdown of the happenings at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

6:09 - Red cars seemingly mediocre this weekend. Can the arguably best drivers on the grid get the car they need to stay competitive with McLaren? Patty gets a dinger! For a team that "brought a bunch of upgrades", we didn't see much.

11:15 - Such a smooth transition, Dan must be driving a McLaren. These guys are The Midfield's Hansel, they're so hot right now. These guys have something figured out, and it's name is Lando Norris. The car's right, the team's right, the drivers are right, I mean come on. Can these guys maintain their explosiveness and really take it to the top team as we approach the summer stretch? We can't wait to find out.

19:20 - Another quiet, mediocre weekend from both of the silver arrows. Tale of the tires, or what's between them. Seems pretty clear to us that these guys need a faster car. Tough to grab podiums from 6-7-8...

23:00 - Fernando and the no good, very bad weekend. A series of unfortunate events unfolded for our favorite foreigner. We say something nice! Can Patrick ACTUALLY say something nice this week? He's honestly trying, he promises.

28:00 - VCARB. YUKI. BOOM. What an awesome weekend from our young japanese driver. Dude was stomping all weekend long. Perhaps living right down the road makes a difference? Our P10 challenge hero keeps us on the top of the leaderboards, while Danny doesn't quite make the points. A good race from both drivers, and we look forward to what these guys can bring to the table in the near future.

37:30 - Another slippery transish from Daniel, he's really rolling this week! Haas hits the cutting room floor for dissection. Another fairly clear case of the car calling the shots. The Haas isn't impressing us a ton, but also not disappointing. A real good, not great scenario. Hey, it's better than what Alpine gets. Midfield moments of the week! Dan goes PMag, and Patrick continues on his theme of talking about teams he shouldn't talk about.

47:45 - Monaco preview! A street circuit that's decided on Saturday. Best qualifying session of year. Will we get a treasured safety car situation to shake up the strategies? While we always hope for the utmost driver safety, we love a good late-session slow down.

55:00 - Monaco Track Facts. It's on a whole, 'nother, level y'all. The oldest, and seemingly rowdiest grand prix of the season. Pull up your super-yacht and enjoy some BOLDies! Welcome back Midfielders! Our melons are still mashed from a magnificent Miami Grand Prix. McLaren, Mclaren, McLaren! A first win for our papaya boi, and man is the orange fruit sweet. Join us as we break down all the highlights from the first U.S. race of the season!

7:35 - Red cars go fast. Red and blue cars? Not so much. Poor communication from the garage, Chuck's a bit slippy, Carlos is cryin'. 2023 called, and they want they're 'rrari's back. An unimpressive showing for a couple of guys who still take 3-5, but our socks have sympathy for our Tifosi brethren.

17:55 - The Silver Arrows are pointed downwards! Lewis dukes it out with the Kirkland Brand midfield all weekend long, and George makes very little noise as both drivers struggle to make the points. Two years of tinkering, can Toto turn-tables, to try the teams in the latter half of the season? Time will tell.

23:15 - Speaking of telling time, it's time to say something nice! Patrick does some big maths and we get some serious averages. Possibly our poster team for the Midfield? We do share colors and a love for mediocrity. We spend far less on our production, thankfully.

The VICECARB was on fire this weekend as Danny handles the sprint, and Yuki grabs big points in the grand prix. Is it the strat? Upgrades working well? That groovy paint job? Whatever it was, it worked this weekend, and we hope it continues. The Kirkland Brand's on watch.

33:30 - The Doctah and the Bad Boys! Could be our favorite team on the grid so far this year. While the Hulk smashes his way through the Kirkland Brand midfield yet again, PMag collects penalty points like Sonic collects gold rings. We break down Kevin's 65 penalty seconds for the weekend, and Dan offers a solution to the FIA regarding the penalty-barrage strategy of Haas.

43:40 - The segue machine is all warmed up, and so are the Alpines. With a few upgrades, a few less kilos, and a pair of drivers with something to prove, the Frenchies showed up this weekend. Arguably some of the finest driving through the chicanes (or full lap whatever) we've seen all season. Patrick and Dan make some decisions as to who's in, and who's out of discussion contention after Miami.

Welcome back Midfielders! Got another action packed weekend to... well, unpack! Dan and Patrick get into all things Chinese Shanghai Grand Prix. Let's waste no time and get right into it!

0:00 - Intros/ A quick recap of who's in and who's out of OUR midfield. Do the Frenchies have what it takes to break into the discuss-able category? Patrick says not yet. Leave 'em in the drawer, we'll check ya later. We share our Midfield Moments of the Weekend.

8:45 - Busting our way right up to "Wait 'n See" Williams. (Told ya we're wastin' no time!) We argue aesthetics, because let's be honest, there's not been much else to be talk about when it comes to the boys in blue. Dan explains "knife's edge", and what it means to F1 drivers.

14:30 - Haas. Boom. You love it, we love it, everybody loves it. I mean it would be neat to get 2 cars to finish in the point(s) but the Hulkster can keep it clean. Loving the P10 Challenge victory for our boy Nico. Can The Doctah get KMag to not drive so poorly? Can we squeeze just one more cool nickname out of this team? Only time will tell.

17:35 - VCARB. No, RB. No. VCARB. Whatever, these guys spent more time off the track than on it seems this weekend. Who doesn't love being kicked while they're down? Doesn't matter, the dog pile's on Danny Ric!

24:00 - The sly old fox and the young pup. It's our favorite segment. Back-handed or otherwise, we say some nice things. Patty get's his 90's Bulls reference in. And we ponder fernando's formation lap prowess/pranks.

29:00 - The Silver Arrows. Question marks all over the place with this team. Can they get from consistent to dominant? Is Lewis' heart "in it" as much as his mouth? Will they get it together before it's too late to compete with either of the top two teams? Tinker tinker tinker, doesn't seem to be the answer-early for the Mercs.

33:10 - P2 for our proud papaya papas! Nobody saw such an excellent race coming from the young Brit. What a nice surprise to have orange over red with the top team on the podium. We've got our hopes up on McLaren for the remainder of the season. Did Ferrari drop the ball on the strategy this weekend? Whatever the issue, an equally surprisingly poor weekend for our red bois. Patrick clearly doesn't pay attention to tires..

44:45 - Dan bends some ears over the FIA. He's a dork, but he makes valid points and raises good questions about some pretty hefty/unbalanced punishments from the FIA, so we love him for it. Just give us a lil' consistency. Just a lil'. Please, for Valtteri's sake.

Like the cherry blossoms of Suzuka, this season's in full bloom! We break down the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix and all the excitement in turn one, and beyond! Are Williams at their critical limit? Does the Doctor have all the cures? Does Patrick love red cars?! The answers to all these, plus a new twist on a favorite segment, all in this weeks episode! Welcome to the Midfield!

0:00 - Intro's/ we're old farts! We can't hang, and we're proud of it. Suzuka's too late, and we'll just catch it on the replay.

3:05 - Bottom to the top this week, starting with our carp/sucker fish of the midfield. Sauber. They've got their own sheet, but it's not a good one...

5:45 - French frying when they're supposed to be pizza-ing, it's Williams. The title track folks, how much longer can we hear this sad song keep playing? Our heart breaks for our preseason favorites, but we got a business to run here. We make a cut from the midfield and make a mid-season, conversation delegation!

22:00 - Who's that hiding in the hedges? Ho-boy it's Haas! These guys might not be the shiniest toy in the box, but they sure are fun to play with. K-Mag and the Hulk are teamed up with The Doctor and are takin' names. Surprises abound!

26:20 - VCARB hits the block. Well, Danny does anyways. With a sharp looking race from Yuki, and a close up of the wall for Daniel, it's looking like there's a CLEAR team leader in the RB garage. 7/8's of a Logan Sargeant on the confidence scale is not a good look.

32:35 - Roll out the red carpet for our newest guest star as we get into our favorite segment. 4 years old and he's already better on the mic than Patrick! We say some nice things about Lance, and we break down why the top driver of this team is such a sly ol' dawg. Call it greasy, call it smart, whatever it is, we love it.

40:10 - Like Swiper, Patrick keeps stealing the segues! If he keeps it up it's going to disrupt the time-flow, causing a meltdown of the core! First set of Dream Seats picked out in Suzuka, as we gush about turn one, as long as there's a car with downforce like McLaren. We touch on Yuki's great home race, probably more than the actual broadcast! Or ANY of the other last lap battles...

51:54 - Lewis is being un-Lewis. Dan's got some theories, either way a 7-9 split can't be an ideal finish for the Mercs. Somethin's fishy when Lewis offers up a driver swap, and we've got all the best minds here at the Midfield digging into this with everything we've got. Bear with us. Even Dan gets things wrong sometimes.

61:50 - HOW. WET. ARE. YOUR. BOOTS?! These red cars man, whew! They go fast! They've got the car, the drivers, and somehow seemed to have shaken the bad juju of years past. Yet another nearly-flawless victory over the rest of the midfield for the horses. If Squishy races, he's on the podium this year. Get on board, dye your dog's fur red, get a Tifosi tattoo, it's bandwagon time!

0:00 - Intros/ Tying up some loosies. The jury's still out on 'Nando v. Georgie v. FIA. Sly foxes, dirty driving and inconsistency are the hot topics still left on our palettes from Australia.

3:20 - Suzuka! We look forward to Japan, and it's not just The Vapors who're turning this weekend. The whole grid is going to have to deal with almost non-stop, high-speed cornering. The boys break down the track itself, how big of dorks we are, and begin the speculation on weather. Possible rain on race day? Color us excited!

18:20 - Penalties, only a few to go around this year, but Dan's keepin' tabs like Santa Clause. We check in on the naughty list and Patrick can't keep french names out his dang mouth! He also doesn't know the difference between a financial penalty, and one deserving of points, but we still love him anyways.

22:45 - We make some BOLDIES, and for the first time ever the boys are going down together as papaya podium prophets. Expecting to see some orange on the podium this weekend as McLaren has us all riled up. Dan talks averages, and Patrick understands basic math!

045 - Mayhem in Melbourne!

G'day mates! Another messy Melbourne GP! Safety cars, pit failures, and references that won't land. Welcome back to another jam packed episode of The Midfield! Dan and Patrick break down last weekend's Grand Prix in Australia, and get all the info on our midfield teams after a warm weekend down undah! Crikey what fun!

0:00 - Intros/ back-pats for the red cars. Appendix's weigh you down, get rid of it. It'll make you more aerodynamic when you fight. MEGA 1-2 from the Tifosi. Sing loud while you can redshirts!

6:05 - Nippin' at the heels of the Ferrari's is Dan's favorite duo, the Papayas. A solid start to the season for both young drivers. Win or lose, we love Lando's transparency. Ya gotta keep it real when you're driving for the Soccer Dad of the Paddock.

13:10 - Differing definitions of dirty, Dan deems it DNF's. Patrick preaches premonitions. George jumbles his gears in gravel, and Lewis loses out. FIA find's Fernando at fault?! ACK! alliterator exhausted.

29:08 - BOTH Aston's made it back to the garage this weekend. Fernando falls a few places as Google lies to Patrick about the results, and we say nice things about Lance.

34:05 - Yuki Yuki Yuki! Early season questions starting to come from VCARB and the big dawgs that Danny's needs to get his drive together. Sounds like D2S needs some drama-fodder for next year, and what better than the same ol' song and dance?

37:30 - The best transition yet! Haas is looking great to start the season. Dan doesn't think it can last, Patrick still can't tell the difference between Haas and Williams. It's gonna be a long season.

41:10 - The one-car-wonders! Williams only brought one chassis to Melbourne? What goofs! Patrick feel's there was a missed opportunity to apply some pressure to our young American.

47:25 - KICK me in the head. KICK the whole crew off the team, KICKSauber is god-awful in the pits. Cross-threading, bolts flying, it's a mess all over the paddock. 46.9 second stops, and starting from pit lane, are only gonna keep you ahead of the Frenchies for so long. KICK your butts in gear and keep that pretty car on the track!

The boys are getting ready for another weekend of racing, this time in Melbourne Australia for the Rolex Australian Grand Prix! We make our predictions and break down each driver in the midfield as we look forward to this high-speed circuit. Then round out the episode with some tire-talk. Lights out and away we go on this week's Midfield!

0:00 - Intros/ Get off our lawns! We're old, but we get all excited about Melbourne, let's dive in! Possible mix up in the standings, data points, tires! The boys break down their choices for top team driver in Australia's GP.

8:20 - Starting at the bottom (or as low as we're willing to go) it's VCARB. Not much of a difference between these two poised young drivers. Is the hometown advantage enough to push Danny ahead of Yuki?

10:20 - Sauber is a different story, two seemingly opposite cars, on fairly opposite sides of the midfield. An easy pick for Patrick this week, between two cars that look really nice in the garage.

12:35 - Williams or Willwon'ts? Patrick's afraid we may have over-hyped our English friends. Dan still holds out hope for Albon and Sargent. Whispers of a BOLD prediction...

18:00 - Haas. So quick they barely warrant a time stamp. Another team with one driver having success, and the other not so much. Chin up K-Mags.

19:40 - This team accompanies a true BOLDY. Patrick makes his stand for Aston Martin this weekend, and makes old-timey car noises. Also our toughest segment; say something nice about Lance.

21:54 - The silver arrows aren't where they want to be with their car, but George doesn't seem to mind. Is this the weekend they get some answers and get some better standings in the constructors?

24:14 - The papayas make it a tough choice. Both young drivers, in a seemingly great car right out of the gate. What's not to love? We can't think of anything, and expect to see these guys continue to climb the standings.

27:10 - The team of three. Who's gonna get the call for Ferrari this weekend? Young stud Ollie, or a potentially sub 100% Squishy. Patrick senses typical Tifosi trouble brewing. So many questions, so much anticipation.

31:54 - Pirelli tire preview! Dan explains track evolution to Patrick. Turns out they're important for racing, who knew? Will the new C5 softs make an impact on the weekend? Will Patrick ever understand this graphic? Only time will tell.

0:00 - Intros/ Red cars go fast! Red boots stay squishy!

13:03 - McLaren, faster 'round the bends than down the straights, the papayas seem a lil' snuggled in around P4. Are they the new bad boys in town? With Mercedes having some real issues at the start of the season, they very well could be.

27:25 - Aston Martin, the team with one driver. The boys find out what Patrick thinks an undercut is. (It's not a haircut) Can Fernando keep the good times rolling? Can Lance replace all the pieces of his car that remain stuck in the wall? We introduce another new segment!

36:35 - Them dang Haas boys are at it again! Is it a good car? Is it the sandbaggin' strat? Is Nico actually a Hulk? All we know is these dudes are surprising, and in a good way for once. Here's hoping that car CONTINUES to improve..

52:50 - Honeybadgers, bumblebees, VCARB is not hype. Ricciardo isn't performing and it makes us super bummed brah. Buckle up your bootstraps and find some inspiration Danny, or you'll be looking at Yuki's gearbox all season.

59:10 - Williams and a discussion on blind faith. Things aren't boding well for The Midfield's off-season expectations. Logan's all buff now, Vowells' at the helm, and after 2, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Dan's still holding out for our heroes, Patrick's confidence is wavering.

1:08:30 - Sauber, sauber, sauber. We shake our heads with thee. If your pit stops are 10x longer than the majority of other teams, your gonna have a bad time. Maybe that car's so good looking they just want to keep it in the pits to gawk at it?

Carlos on the podium? Who?! The what?! Join Dan and Patrick as we tear into this and all the other fun midfield action, and find out what team gets the conversational axe in this week's episode!

0:00 - Intros/ Who's in? Who's out? What's a midfield anyways?! We eliminate a team for the start of the season, and talk about the VCARB miscommunications. Yuki big angries. Keep pushing that rock buddy.

9:10 - Pick your jaws up off the floor, someone check on Guenther, Haas looks NOT awful! Good quali, good race pace, normal tire degradation? Has Haas been the sleeping tiger in the corner of the midfield? Only time will tell, but an excellent start to the season for one of our favorite midfield teams.

18:10 - P8 Papaya. Hammie's radio excellence. Dan makes car noises. Patrick brings up MJ. Mercedes makes malfunctioning motors. Cooling or batteries, either way there's issues across the grid with these engines. Losing to Lando looks lousy! The speculations are as heavy as these alliterations.

28:40 - Rough day for Crusty Rusty in the Merc, but still a good quiet race from our Brit, baby boy. Dan finds a fun game to play with Georgie and his behavioral trends.

31:15 - Red cars go fast! Patty's BOLDY prediction is paying off after the first race. Unfortunately Chuck had half a car and still took P4, we'll keep our optimism tempered. Atta boy Squishy, way to grab an early podium without wrecking both cars!

39:40 - Dan gets in a few more undercuts as we put the wrap on Bahrain and look to Jeddah and the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. The boys make their podium picks for this all-fast, no-slow, possibly over-cornered race in the desert.
