 Death is one of the few certainties in this fallen world, yet it is one of the realities we most often avoid. In this first episode of Hope in the Valleys of Life, we open Genesis 5 and Psalm 90:12 to consider what the Bible teaches about death, the brevity of life, Christian wisdom, repentance, and hope in Christ. 

Again and again, Genesis 5 repeats the solemn words: “and he died.” This chapter is not a meaningless genealogy. It is a powerful reminder that death is the result of sin, that human life is short, and that true wisdom begins when we learn to number our days before God. But Scripture does not leave us in fear or despair. It leads us to Jesus Christ, who entered death for sinners, rose again in victory, and offers eternal life to all who trust in Him.
