Some of you know I’m walking through the season of my campaign for Sheriff of Hancock County. 

The deeper I go, the stronger the opposition becomes. It’s not always from a declared opponent; sometimes it’s quieter resistance, unethical moves, and personal attacks from people who simply don’t want to see change or new leadership. Sometimes it’s perceived as just plain darkness and evil. As we get closer to May 5, it seems to ramp up.

If you’re in a similar place, stepping out in obedience to something God has called you to, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about.

Most people aren’t far from God… they’re just not paying attention.

We live in a world full of noise, distractions, and constant movement.

But clarity doesn’t come from more noise—it comes from stillness.

 You know, life has a way of throwing curveballs at us—job losses, health struggles, family tensions, or even the bigger picture stuff like economic turns or global unrest. 

 It can feel like the ground is shifting under our feet, and we’re left wondering, “What’s next? How do I navigate this?” But here’s the good news: Our Heavenly Father isn’t caught off guard by any of it. 

He has a plan, and it’s one that’s filled with hope and purpose. We’re going to unpack that today, drawing straight from Scripture to see how we can lean into His wisdom and find unshakable peace.

Every January, we promise ourselves change. We resolve to do better, be better, try harder, and MOST of us mean it! But intentions, no matter how sincere, tend to collapse under the weight of real life. Fatigue returns, disappointment resurfaces and by February, many resolutions quietly disappear.
