​Festively decorated tractors driven by local farmers will lead the parade followed by up to 250 seasonally adorned horses (both ridden and driven) along the parade route down the Old National Road (Frederick Road), Route 144.

​The Lisbon Christmas Parade is presented by the Howard County Farm Bureau, in partnership with the Carroll County Farm Bureau. It benefits the Howard County Food Bank, Carroll County Food Sunday, Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry and the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company.

What happens to these exotic cats, as well as other animals, when the owners decide they have grown too large or otherwise cannot care for them anymore? These animals cannot be returned to the wild because they've never been in the wild; they are born and raised in captivity. Melanie Ferrio-Wise and her husband Brendan have often dealt with horses of difficult natures and backgrounds, and have had great success in bringing them to new and relaxing lives. In 2014, Melanie and Brendan were given what can only be described as a “train wreck” of a horse! That horse’s name: Wings. At the time, Melanie and Brendan didn’t really see much of a point to the name Wings, so they gifted him with a name more fitting of his current temperament and personality: Vlad… after the infamous Vlad, the Impaler!
