He has worked throughout South Africa, in Zimbabwe, Uganda, Haiti, and Europe. His iconoclastic and celebrated work has taken on various artistic forms: installations, performances, plays, operas, and musical shows. Our encounter with Brett was through his festival Infecting the City which took place in Cape Town as a public event transforming the city through arts event all over. One of Brett’s most disturbing pieces Exhibit B offer a relentless exploration of the dynamics of the postcolonial world and has been tattooed into our memory.

We find Brett disturbingly courageous.
