Resilience for Reconciliation: Renewal in Marriage

They met in college and married soon after, this couple moved to the beautiful island of Jamaica as missionaries.

After a while, their challenges increased, and after much prayer, they separated.

As I listened to my guest, share I assumed that reconciling seven years after separation, marriage was bliss. She looked nothing but happy whenever I saw her.

Imagine my shock when she said no. The challenges were still there. She lovingly explained that this is part of life. Challenges are a part of life.

I love how graciously my guest shared this very vulnerable part of her life.

Resilience though Miscarriage

Wife, mother, entrepreneur, homeschool teacher and fitness coach, Dekeisha looks like she has it all. She has a blessed life, but this blessed life includes treasures from dark places.

Away in a foreign country on a military base Dekeisha and her husband walked through a painful miscarriage during her third pregnancy. Alone and confused and shaken, Dekeisha found new depths to her faith as she learned that in the darn places, God is still an anchor for your soul. A second loss of a child during pregnancy was not what she envisioned but God's message to others throughout her time of being angry at Him was still one of grace and love in her process of pain.

Danelle is a wife and mother. And this was the life she envisioned. Marrying her college sweetheart, life ahead looked promising. Unbeknownst to her a disease was brewing in her body.

The sudden changes in her health were happening right alongside a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer for her husband of two years. In addition to this, she was nursing a newborn and raising a toddler! What was God doing?

Through it all Danelle has learned to hold on to God in the storms and draw near to Him when prayers aren't answered the way she wants. Resilience Through Change

In November 2015 Hilary Wehby's life changed forever. A sudden traumatic stroke left her paralyzed on her left side. There was no movement in her leg or arm, her face was twisted, and she was unable to look to her left. Her life was completely changed.

But God had a plan. With the support of her family, friends, and the Word of God Hilary found her way to a "New Normal - the name of her book, launched in 2019. Though she left corporate, a decision that was never in her mind she is now an author and a co-founder of the Jamaica Stroke Alliance.

Hilary's story is one of resilience, the importance of community, and the need to depend on God's Word. God has indeed miraculously opened doors for her and Hilary believes it is "a privilege to be part of God's plan." Tune in to hear God was faithful in this season of change.

When our mom passed away, each of us waded through a myriad of emotions and thoughts as we grieved the sudden loss of our mother. It was hard and beautiful at the same time.

God showed us how he was always with us. He gave us steady peace when emotions swirled around us. He ministered to anxiety and removed sleepless nights.
