History is back in session with an anime horror of a timeless tale told three times. The “Blood” series is an unusual story told in a unique way that isn’t a rarity to discover. It’s been on my list to talk about the anime so I thought I’d give it a history lesson to the screenies.

Hey Screenies! HAPPY HALLOWEEN and Thanks for tuning into this years Halloween Series. It’s my favorite time of the year to present this and during this month’s trials and tribulations, I busted my butt to give this year a great amount of episodes. Kicking off the Halloween series is one of the mini series from Stephen King hailed by many to be the best of King’s mini series. But after 31 years how does it fair to be called the best? It’s a saga gem from the 90s that holds a torch to many King fans with many layers to dissect.

Hi Screen Team! A TV Trailer finally got its time on this segment. With all the current shows coming out, it’s hard to get in time. And the opportunity came up for a show I just had to share my thoughts about before it aired.

During the production of this episode, your host hit a BAD case of TMJ. Originally, there was an update at the beginning stating the Action series was ending early due to personal issues. Then seconds after I re-recorded a segment for this episode TMJ came knocking at my door and I’ve been fighting it for days. I made it here just in time so when you listen to it, the placement of time is going to sound about six days off. 

Anyway, Lethal Weapon 3 is a wonderful sequel and anyone can fight me if they think they can change my mind. I had fun gushing about how I’ve loved this movie and it’s the best unexpected way to send off Action August.

Welcome to the moment we’ve come to…after two years of talking about movies and TV shows. I’ve reached 100 episodes. It was last year in June that I reached 50 episodes now after another year, I reached triple digits. I still can’t get over it. The only thing I believed about Exorcist: Believer was that I didn't believe it be better than Exorcist Three. Exorcist 3 or Legion as it's also called. You can call it anything you want, but I call it awesome. I loved this film for being a different kind of possession movie while being a better follow-up to the most terrifying film ever made. If you were to tell me that I would love a film with a former Twilight star, I would have thought you were lying your ass off. Now that I've seen the film, I don't know what I would have done without this film. The Lighthouse has become one of my favorite films in recent years, and I'm glad this was shown to me. Unusual doesn't even come close to the definition of this film. I have much to say about this scary scurvy tail that will make you think twice about seagulls.

There's SomeTHING about this movie. The Thing has always been a film I heard about being a tremendous alien film...however, your screen queen found out it took time for the flowers to be given to this film. In this episode I'm diving into the scares that care, the unseen heroes of this horror film...and a little mouse movie that has an odd connection to this film.

EDIT 8/12/24 - Around the part where I mentioned how the opening title of The Secret of NIMH was inspired by The Thing, it was actually the original from Howard Hawks not the one that came out the same year.

In my entire existence being a film buff, I've seen some movies I like---some I loved---and some I had to be a little gentle to in order to be a fair reviewer. But these films just didn't do it for me. This is more than just a trashy movie...well it is. I forgot how much I enjoyed this movie and it had aged in a way that almost felt too much but stayed within the cusp of comedy. There's something about this film and the way it played with dark humor in the best ways. In terms of trashy movies, this one is definitely a treasure for me.

Podcaster Maketh Podcast. I was in Movie Stop while my mom and I shopped around for some inexpensive splurge purchases and I just happened to look up at see what looked to be a new action movie trailer. I saw a guy wearing a hat and Colin Firth doing some action and thought, "That's interesting, why haven't I seen this trailer on TV?" I caught Kingsman years later after finding a home on FX and got to experience it. A ninja anime that's not Naruto? Nabari No Ou existed in an age of anime I grew up with a teenager. I still have the books that I have read cover to cover. Oh my god, of all the anime titles to start out the anime series OF COURSE it would would have to be the movie that got me into Studio Ghibli. It is a crime to not love a film that brought us into a world of fantasy while giving a realistic take on maturity while never losing the imagination. Welcome back, Screen Team! I have a wonderful episode that is going to be different than my usual episodes. This episode was a challenge to see how I could be an interviewer and get some other commentators on the show---and who better than my dear friend Ann Lowe as my first guest as we cover a film that had one of the first few sociopathic kids before we had Kevin McAllister. 

Apologies for the sound problems in this episode. There was some technical troubleshooting, My labptop was unable to do a video chat, so I had to use two laptops, the one I record my episodes with and another to do the video chat. I held the microphone as close to the speakers on the second laptop. During the editing process it was still too soft and I amplified her voice to be heard. There might be a couple of hiccups where you can't hear her, but I promise by next collaboration, this won't be an issue. Thank you for understanding!
