After briefly discussing the NQ Junior Baseball Intercity Challenge, Rory Contarino and Marc Blizzard go over the league play from Sunday the 17th. Michael Jamieson joins in the post-game interview. Please note there is some unpleasant wind noise during the post-game.

Wasn't until after Blizz and I had finished recording that I realised there are only 6 weeks left in the regular season! We really are getting to the pointy end!

Very excited to see how the seeding for the playoffs comes together.

The Barrier Reef tournament held in Cairns from the 16th to the 19th of June was a terrific event to punctuate the middle of the season. Rory Contarino and Michael Jamieson go over their experience with the event.

Avengers Vice President Dion Searle joins Rory Contarino to talk about the games played at Jabiru on Sunday the 12th.

I think the audio quality doesn't hold up when two mics are used. Will keep testing and see if it can be cleaned up a bit.

For this episode I tried just recording post game dugout banter instead of an interview. I don't think it produced the desired result (although the opening of the podcast with Dion is great). The last few minutes of the episode is the best chunk of viable audio I pulled from after the Taipans-Mustangs game.

For a fun Episode 14 drinking game use the following rules:

Take a drink when Dion says 'consistency' or 'consistent'
Take a drink when I say 'send' or 'sent'
Take drink when either of us say 'did a job' or similar

For hard mode take a drink any time I 'um' or 'ah'.

Enjoy the couple weeks off from baseball! See you in week 11!

Both B-grade Avengers squads got up on Sunday but unfortunately the Taipans couldn't get past the Pirates. Rory Contarino and Adam Bonney take you through how it went down.

I'm not coughing this week! Huzzah!
It's always good to sit down and talk ball with Bonney and this episode was no exception. There were definitely a couple of things I forgot to mention from Sunday. The most notable being that this was Harry Crane's last game with the club. All the best to you, Who - good luck down in the Big Smoke.

This also means that Razorbacks have lost a player who was probably the best centre fielder in B-grade and outstanding on the base paths. Big shoes to fill but Avengers have gotten some new recruits recently. Maybe one (or both) of them can help bolster the Razor's lineup.

Rory Contarino goes over how the three Avengers squads performed in the games on Sunday the 22nd of May.

My apologies that I still have to stop and cough at intervals. I honestly feel close to 100% healthy but I have this lingering cough that I can't seem to shake.

One thing to listen for in this episode is Latin music and the sounds of rakes on bases in the background while I interview Servio. I know this just means my audio setup doesn't have enough noise cancelling but I think it helps put you in the dugout with us after the game.

A short post-game conversation with Adam Bonney regarding the week 5 matchup between Razorbacks and Taipans B. Taipans A didn't play in the afternoon so there only ended up being one Avengers game in week 5.

Following the NQ games I recorded episode 10 with Dan Cremming and Marc Blizzard but the file got corrupted. Since then I've been fighting an illness - I feel fine but can't talk for more than a minute without breaking out into a coughing fit which doesn't make for good podcasting.

I apologise but hopefully the sun will come out, my cough will take a hike and we'll be back on for episode 10 next week!

Adam Bonney returns to the show to go over all of the games played in week 4 of the regular season. Post game interview with Matt White for Pirates @ Jethawks.

There were two players from the Diamonds Blue @ Taipans B game who I forgot to shout out during the episode. The first is Gary Frampton who joined the game as my battery mate and did a great job behind the the dish. The other is Shayne Lord who started on the bump for Diamonds. After the game Conor (who knows more about baseball than he likes to let on) said that Shayne has a lot of potential and might be Diamonds' best pitcher.

Rory Contarino goes over a huge change for Avengers baseball as well as reflecting on the games played by Razorbacks and Taipans in the last week of preseason. Cameos by Adam Bonney and Harry Crane.

Mostly a solo episode this week due to real life existing. Deliberately kept it short because no one wants to listen to me talk to myself for too long. There is a bit of wind noise during Harry's interview so earbud users beware. Believe me there was bugger all wind while we were playing!

Rory Contarino and Peter Riggs discuss the meaning of the Avengers' motto "One Club, One Family", the work done to improve Jabiru park in the off season, how the new umpires are going as well as reviewing the preseason games played by the Razorbacks and Taipans on the 6th of March.

Thank you to everyone who listened to the first episode and are coming back for more. No robots in this episode but there is an echo while I'm talking to Riggs. My focus at the moment is getting into a rhythm with recording and uploading but improving the audio quality is the next priority.
