Jessica’s story corresponds with our current My True Identity Series and our past, Women Of The Bible Series.  Jessica carried a wrong identity of “I am a mistake” based on the unhealthy and unholy environment she was raised in, harmful words spoken to her, and painful things that happened to her while living as a daughter of an alcoholic minister. Her story also parallels with Tamar from Genesis 38:6-28. Tamar and Jessica were not protected or honored by the people God placed in their life to care for them. Eventually, their brokenness and unprotected-ness would force them in directions that were not their best decisions. 

But God transformed Jessica’s life, story, and identity. She learned to reframe the story of her life when God began to speak to her, “Jessica, You are supposed to be here.”

When I am talking about Context, I am talking about studying a specific word, phrase, verse or passage in the context where it is set. We want to pay attention to and observe the passages that come directly before and after it. Sometimes we can learn as much from what is before or after a passage as we can learn from the passage itself. We will also see how studying in context looking at one word in John 4:4 and continually expanding the study to see the surrounding contexts reveals the impartiality of Jesus.

Life is full of new beginnings. Those new beginnings could be a new home, new job, new career, new births, new relationships...
