These Bible scholars then went to Romans chapter 1 to gain insight about what the widespread acceptance of what homosexuality means for the future of American society. He points out that the biblical perspective is that maintaining a secure border is a wise defensive measure to prevent chaos and safeguard innocent lives. Dr. Hall focuses on the behavior of the representatives of the Democratic Party during the President’s recent State of the Union address. When the president asked the body to stand if they agreed that the first duty of the US government is to protect American citizens, not those in the country illegally, all the Democratic representatives refused to stand. The Democratic Party representatives also refused to stand and applaud when the grieving mother of a young woman from Ukraine who escaped the war was slain by a hardened criminal in the US. Astonished, Mary asked “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” The special guests and Dr. Hall then explored what it is like to be a teenage girl in the 21st century. The ladies on the panel discuss the violent mood changes that they experienced as teenagers and how these off the chart mood swings are complicated by PMS. The group also discussed society’s perverted interpretation of beauty that for many young teenage girls results in poor self-image, making them feel that they are “not pretty enough” or “not worthy enough.” The discussion then led into the consequences of a young girl in the first century claiming to be a virgin and becoming pregnant. In short, Deuteronomy 22 tells us that the law at that time required the young girl to be stoned to death. When Mary accepted the Angels proclamation that she would become pregnant with Jesus she was aware of these potential harsh consequences. The group explored how Mary must have felt during this time, and Joseph’s response to this situation. God, Evil and Suffering

Even the apostle Paul on three different occasions prayed that the Lord would free him from his source of pain – 2 Corinthians 12:8. His prayer went unanswered. It is widely accepted among psychiatrists, psychologists and researchers that there is no cure for pedophilia. Hunger-SNAP/Food Stamps & Jesus

Ordained minister Dr. Dennis Hall addresses the shutdown of the federal government in the US, what caused it, and the implications for the federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), sometimes referred to as food stamps. It is pointed out that 41.7 million people depend on this program, 12% of the US population – one in seven people. Due to the shutdown of the federal government this program is currently only being partially funded. Dr. Hall attacks many of the myths about the participants in this program, pointing out that recipients are subject to the federal government’s requirements to receive benefits that only allow four dollars a day per person for food. To receive food stamps, you must be poor and prove it. Able-bodied adults are also required to work at least 20 hours per week. Dr. Hall points out that throughout Scripture there is clear and consistent emphasis on providing for those in need. In the Old Testament God’s people are instructed to leave grain fields, vineyards, and olive tree groves less than fully harvested for the poor and sojourners. Jesus explained that caring for the hungry is tantamount to caring for Him personally. Forensic analysis showed that the children had been killed at the hands of their captors. The parable of the hidden treasure is used to point out that to truly believe and follow Jesus is worth everything if it is worth anything at all. Scripture teaches that to whom much is given much is expected. Riches do not necessarily exclude a person from heaven and giving up a fortune is not a requirement for salvation since both Zachchaecus and Joseph of Arimathea were devoted disciples and had great wealth. Dr. Hall analyzes the definition of wealth, pointing out that half the population of the United States would be considered rich by world standards. Jesus makes the point in Matthew 10:34-39 that following him leads to difficult choices. The recent increase in activists, commentators, and political leaders calling for a cease-fire or a pause in the Palestinian/Israeli war is addressed by ordained minister Dr. Dennis Hall. He begins the podcast by discussing the international humanitarian laws known as the Geneva Conventions. These laws protect civilians, medical personnel, injured soldiers, and prisoners of war. The ideas that undergird the Geneva Conventions can be traced back to the writings of St. Augustine who lived in the fourth century. These ideas are known as the just war theory. The most common justification for war is the crime of aggression, and leaders of nations have a responsibility to protect their citizens from barbaric aggression. Just war theory also includes the principles that must be followed during a war. Conventionally, this has been understood to mean that only enemy combatants may be targets and that civilians must never be intentionally harmed. The concept known as Proportionally of Means is analyzed. This concept means that a military response to an attack should not be more than is necessary to right the wrong. Dr. Hall points out that the Bible makes it very clear that God is not opposed to killing and that since he and Jesus are one it eliminates the argument that Jesus is opposed to war and killing. The Bible makes it clear that governments are established to punish those who do evil. It has been said that there are many reasons for war. Imperialism. Financial gain. Religion. Feuds. And racial arrogance. But God condones war in response to wickedness. UFOs, aliens, and extraterrestrials are the subject of this podcast hosted by Dr. Dennis Hall. He points out that scientists have been trying to make contact with extraterrestrial civilizations since 1974 and that 65% of Americans believe intelligent life exists outside the earth. His current interest in this subject was sparked by the hearing conducted by the US Congress on UFOs in July. The Catholic Church and Protestant churches have left the question of extraterrestrials and unsettled question. Dr. Hall emphatically states that he does not believe that extraterrestrials will ever be found and that they do not exist, based on the word of God. He points out that the Bible teaches that Jesus died on the cross to redeem the brokenness of mankind on, earth, and that there is nothing to indicate that this sacrifice applies to intelligent extraterrestrials on other planets. Some suggest perhaps aliens may not need redemption. Some suggest that perhaps God has he been incarnated on alien planets to provide redemption in those worlds. Some respond by suggesting that perhaps extraterrestrials could have their own way to God that is different from the paths humans have to God. Christians know that Jesus taught us, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father is except through me.” It is clear that Jesus is talking about the earthly Savior, not some extraterrestrial being. The biblical story of end times does not make room for extraterrestrial beings. Dr. Hall spends some time talking about the fine tuning of the earth and universe to make life possible. Dr. Dennis Hall addresses the general fascination with demon possession and exorcism, noting that over the last 20 years, there have been nearly 50 movies about demons and exorcism. These movies have distributed a lot of fake information about demons. The only reliable source of information about demons is the Bible. The Bible tells us demons are fallen Angels who joined Satan and his rebellion against God. The Archangel Michael and his angels fought against Satan and his followers which resulted in these demons being cast out of heaven. Demons can possess people and cause them physical and spiritual harm and make them do evil. Dr. Hall points out that getting rid of the demon can be dangerous. He points to Matthew 12:45 which tells us without proper spiritual care a demonized person can become seven times more demonized. The main mission of demons is to make humans sin. The more we sin, the farther we are separated from God giving demons the opportunity to attack. They have countless ways to take us out but the good news is a relationship with God makes it impossible for demons to attack us. Dr. Hall discusses how psychics, fortunetellers, and witchcraft have become part of mainstream America. He quotes Deuteronomy 18:10-11 on God’s warning that anyone who practices sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium are spiritualist or who consults with the dead is detestable to the Lord. Dr. Hall reviews three things the result in not seeing demon-possessed people in America. It is pointed out that the apostle Paul’s description of the armor of God in Ephesians 6 are the things that prevent demons from attacking believers and followers of Jesus. He reviews the gradual movement of Democrats and Republicans along urban/rural and liberal/conservative lines, noting a large percentage of evangelical Christians have aligned with the Republican party. He notes that 40 years ago Democrats and Republicans felt okay about the opposing political party, but for the last four decades, political partisans have increasingly turned against each other. Leaders in both parties accuse the others of destroying our democracy and demeaning name-calling is commonplace among politicians. A discussion of how Christians have been caught up in this atmosphere of hate, being referred to as bigoted homophobic misogynistic xenophobic hatemongers who through their antiabortion activities wage a war on women. He points out that there is no comparison between the horrors of genocide against Christians around the world, but there is a quiet persecution of believers in the West. The question of, “Why are Christians hated so much?” is analyzed. Dr. Hall concludes that just like Jesus Christians of today make others uncomfortable due to their moral high ground. The Lost Son

This story appears only once in the Bible, Luke 15:11-32, and it is about a young man who asked for his inheritance, and squandered it, wasted it on riotous living with harlots.Since his request for his inheritance was made while his father was living, it was interpreted as a wish for his father's death. These kinds of feelings are not uncommon among some youth today. Thousands of young people distance themselves from family, God, and church as they seek worldly pleasure. These pastors discuss what it means to hit bottom as happens to the younger son in Jesus' story of the Lost Son. In today's world, this would be when young people are living in shelters, in the basements of friends, or under bridges and are being fed by local charities. The challenge of parents deciding when to rescue or when to practice tough love is explored. The fact that God can achieve miracles among rebellious disobedient children is motivation to keep praying. Jesus tells us that the younger son in his story comes to his senses, repents and returns to his father willing to become one of his servants. The father does not question our lecture the son; instead, he joyfully receives him back into the fellowship of the family. The older son in this story resents the action of his father, after all he had remained loyal and obedient. Jonathan Isaac, Orlando Magic professional basketball player, announced that he has launched his own athletic apparel company that will be marketed to Christians and conservatives. This Afro-American basketball player made headlines in 2020 when he stood during the national anthem as his teammates knelt in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. He said he wanted to give Americans, freedom loving, faith loving Americans the option to buy with their values. In his announcement about his new company, UNITUS, he alluded to "woke" companies that have made a conscious decision to either attack or undermine Christian and conservative values. Dr. Hall discusses what the term "woke" means and how it drives political correctness. Microaggressions are defined. Descriptions of wokeness in the business world are outlined with the Anheuser-Busch use of a transgender personality on their beer can being an example. Why Critical Race Theory is anti-gospel and how it contradicts Scripture is part of this presentation. Dr. Hall calls wokeism the modern religion of the world and demonstrates how Scripture warned us that this was coming. The social fallout from transgenderism is described. Dr. Dennis Hall has spent a lifetime intervening in child sex abuse and finds the blockbuster movie, "Sound of Freedom" a welcome glimpse into the dark underbelly of child sex trafficking. This movie is based on the true story of Tim Ballard, a former Homeland Security agent, who has embarked on numerous missions to rescue victims from the clutches of human traffickers. Dr. Hall recounts his experiences of observing poverty-stricken families renting their children to pedophiles for sex. He describes sex tourism where people travel abroad for sex with children and voluntourists who go abroad to work at nongovernmental agencies and charities to gain access to children, He points out that orphanages in Cambodia are filled with children removed from their parents and trafficked to pedophiles. He points out the nudity and vulgarity that is being displayed in these parades where the streets are lined with spectators including children. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a drag queen group known for vulgar displays mocking Christianity and Catholics were honored by the Los Angeles Dodgers on their Pride Night. When Dr. Hall asks the question, “How did we get to this place in history?”, He points out that only 24% of Americans believe that the Scripture is the actual word of God and to be taken literally. Thus, the moral Compass of America has largely disappeared. Biblical instruction is very clear – perversions of gender and sexuality are clearly recognized as sin by God. The day after Father’s Day the national news reported six people were killed and dozens injured in weekend shootings across the U.S. Dr. Dennis Hall explains that he was prompted to wonder how many came from fatherless homes. Nearly 30% of all homes in the United States are fatherless. 40% of all births in the United States occur outside of marriage. 54% of children born in the US reach their 17th birthday without a married mom and dad in the house. The tragic results of fatherless homes are vastly higher rates of incarceration for boys and drastically higher teenage pregnancy rates for girls, increased drug and alcohol abuse, and poor educational achievement. America has the highest percentage of fatherless homes in the world. The collapse of the American family is believed to be the root cause of the decline in church attendance. Dr. Hall lays out the biblical vision of fatherhood. Fifty percent of Americans report experiencing loneliness. It is more than a bad feeling. It is associated with greater risk of cardiovascular disease, dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety, and premature death. Loneliness is one of the best predictors of suicide. Social connection is a fundamental human need that is essential to survival as much as food, water, and shelter. In Isaiah 7:14 it is foretold that a virgin will conceive and give birth to a son known as Immanuel. In the New Testament, Matthew and Luke write about this event that sets the stage for the supernatural life of Jesus, the supernatural resurrection, and the ascension to God's right hand. In Genesis 49 we are told to expect a descendent of Judah that all nations will bring tribute worship before him. In Micah 5 the prophet tells us that a ruler of Israel will come from Bethlehem. In Matthew 1 we are told that Jesus is from the seed of Abraham. God had entered into a covenant with Abraham and promised he would do seven things: I will make you a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. I will make you a blessing. I will bless those who bless you. Those who curse you I will curse. In you, all the families of earth will be blessed. The seed of Abraham that blessed all of the nations was Jesus Christ. No event has impacted the world more than the birth of Jesus and God told us so hundreds of years before the event.

Religion is seen as the enemy of freedom because God does place constraints on us. Isaiah 8:13 says "The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, is the one you are to fear, is the one you are to dread. Romans 3:23, "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." God poses an ominous threat to our egos but to not to us; he stands over against our delusions, but not against the truth that sets us free: he cast us down, but only to lift us up. He sits in judgment of our sin, but he forgives us, nevertheless. The Scripture says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but love is its completion.

This is the reason that churches are essential to believers "so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ordained minister, Dr. Dennis Hall exposes the myths of Eastern meditation grounded in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Although many report benefits from these types of meditation techniques, a recent study from Brown University uncovered meditation-related adverse effects that were serious or distressing enough to warrant additional treatment. These effects included psychosis, seizures, depersonalization, mania, and other forms of clinical deterioration. Meditators acknowledged that it is not unusual to experience visions, see or hear spirits, see light, and have out-of-body experiences all of which could be demonic oppression. Because of the shift in consciousness carried out through meditation, participants are open to major deceptions that are no different from the lie in the garden. In these Eastern meditations, full of mysticism, participants can believe that they are God, can lose their God-given ability to judge right from wrong, and have their moral standards lowered. There are over 92 million selfies taken every day. It seems like everyone is taking selfies and sharing them on social media. However, more and more studies are linking selfies to narcissism. Narcissism is a personality trait of self-centeredness where a person has an excessive interest in one's physical appearance and image. One of the main reasons that people take selfies and post them on social media is attention-getting. We are becoming a nation of narcissists where people are displaying a hunger for appreciation and admiration and a desire to be the center of attention. In Philippians 2:3-4, believers are admonished to give up their pride and walk in humility. They point out that according to the Pew report that 78.4% of Americans describe themselves as Christians but only about 20% of Americans go to church. It appears that we may be a nation that talks the talk but mostly does not walk the walk. How do we know if someone is a Christian are not? Can someone just announce that they are Christian? Or do the way we lead our lives have something to say about that? Talk is cheap and sometimes professing Christians show no evidence of genuine salvation. Is Christianity just some label we wear or a banner to wave to appease our conscience? In 1 John 2 the apostle John writes that if we know Jesus, we keep his commandments. And whoever says, "I know him" but do not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. These two pastors discuss what it means to totally surrender to the leadership of Jesus Christ and how to prioritize obedience. They stress the importance of fellowship with other genuine Christians. He begins by acknowledging that 97% of conservative evangelical Christians who attend church regularly voted for Pres. Trump in the last presidential election. Who fascists are and the characteristics of their behavior is examined from a historical perspective and then Dr. Hall turns to the question of why conservative Christians voted for Pres. Trump. He mentions Trump's position on anti-abortion measures, his position on religious freedom, his position supporting law and order and the rule of law, his position securing the southern border to stop the human carnage that is occurring there, and his position on supporting the Constitution and appointing constitutionalist jurors to the supreme court . Gay marriages are addressed in light of Scriptural teaching about Holy Matrimony and the high divorce rate among lesbian marriages. The findings about children of same sex marriages is also explored. The prevalence of cohabitation before marriage is acknowledged and the science that demonstrates that this practice is devastating to later marriage relationships. The significant domestic violence that occurs in relationships when the partners are not married is part of the subject. Pornography is acknowledged as playing a role in everything from same sex relationships to violence against children. Humans are hardwired for intimacy and only Jesus and the Holy Spirit can give the strength to cope with the temptations.

We know that it is God speaking when we sense His power and authority that gives us confidence and peace.

Pastor Whirley shares his personal prison experience. Both who are experienced in prison ministries review prison pain, including loss of freedoms, deprivation of things we take for granted, loss of personal security, and separation from family, friends, and the outside world. The psychological, emotional, and spiritual effects of incarceration are reviewed; delusions, paranoia, claustrophobia, depression, nightmares, insomnia and increased hostility. These effects are frequently dealt with inside and outside prison with substance abuse. Jesus gave us the example of visiting and ministering to prisoners. A person's past does not dictate their future when they allow Jesus to free them from the bondage of sin. This episode is uplifting and full of hope for those incarcerated and families of those who have experience the pain of prison.

Their discussion culminates with the recognition that an acceptance that we are vulnerable human beings, and yielding ourselves to the will of God is the cure for worry.

Many are always blaming others for their actions. They discussed the origins of guilt and shame and the difference between the two. How it is necessary to take responsibility for our actions if we are going to experience guilt is part of the conversation. The roll that guilt plays in the Christian concept of repentance is explored. The role of prayer in addressing debilitating guilt is part of the interchange. And finally they point out that moderate guilt and shame can be a good thing leading to repentance and a closer relationship with Jesus.

God Must Be Ugly

Ordained minister, Dennis Hall, and his guess Dr. Mark Ford, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Highlands, NC discuss the notion that some have that if they were created in the image of God, He must be ugly, based on the marred condition of their lives as a result of the sinful and evil decisions that they have made. God's attributes are explored with a focus on His love, and the ways that He created love in man. The spiritual, intellectual and moral likeness of God seen in man is discussed, proving that we are created in God's image. God gave man the ability to know right from wrong and we sin anyway. The propensity to sin is driven by a concept in the Scripture known as pride, which causes us to behave like we are God. The Scripture does not say "Blessed are the strong." God calls man out of our weaknesses, without our brokenness there would be no need for God. This discussion takes listeners to the point where it is recognized that God is not ugly, He is beautiful! Being created in his image means we are in a relationship with God, that he loves us in spite of our ugliness, that He is not finished with us, and is with us in our journey on this earth.
