We focus in on Alex's time in Sweden where he captained relative minnows Ostersunds FK on their journey to the Swedish top-level under Graham Potter as well as his experience representing Montserrat at international level.

Finally, we really hone in on what playing for Wealdstone is like and what has kept Alex coming back for the last four seasons. It's a genuinely fun and insightful hour or so and we hope you enjoy.

We kick off this episode with the famous Wycombe FA Cup ticket wind-up that our caster Alex endured earlier this season, and it's a gold plated wind-up that everybody should know about.
Then we get down to the nuts and bolts as we look back at Oldham away, Daggers at home, and the Magpies away. We discuss the Eastmond Factor, the Boston PP on NYD, and pay homage to Alex Reid and the impact he made during his loan period with us. Where do we go from here?

Then moving on we discussed our centre back partnership, and we wave goodbye to a few players either leaving or returning to their parent clubs after their loan are up.
We look back over the first half of the season and discuss if we're happy or not with where we are, and then look back at our highlights of 2024. There were some humdingers to reminisce about.

It's a middle-youth take over Xmas cast that we have for you this time, featuring a bunch of young scallywags. Well we say "young" but it's quite plain to see using the word "youth" to describe this lot is somewhat of a mental leap of faith.
But anyway, they've got things to say, and it isn't the usual bunch of old fogies and their tales of the 50's or other ancient periods of our clubs illustrious history.
It's straight into looking back at the FAC game against Wycombe, the NLC game against Derby, exit at the Shots in the FAT and the six goal NL thriller under the lights against our old sparring partners Alty.
Once again the keeper situation gets an airing, and it's frankly bonkers how this seems to be coming up every other episode this season. What on earth is going on?
And then we look forwards to the trip to Oldham this Saturday and the upcoming festive fixtures against Daggers, Magpies and the Pilgrims do get your turkey juices running.
It's a packed room as we squeeze 6 (six) oiks into the room and try to get some sense out of them. It's Chris doing his best to keep order of Akhil, Tom, Nikhil, Rob and Leo.

Cup fever hits the cast with the hotly anticipated FA Cup 2nd Round fixture against high flying Wycombe Wanderers hoving into view on the horizon.
But first, it's a quick catch up on our recent games against Rochdale and Eastleigh and our much improved points tally and performances.
Then the bulk of the cast gets understandably onto the subject of Saturday as the excitement builds. We look at the huge task ahead of us as we face a Wycombe side that is in impressive form. What makes them tick and so dangerous, and what do we do to counter that. Also there's mentions about previous early morning kick-offs deep from the clubs history.
And in closing there's the much more important fixture against Derby in the NLC and Aldershot in the Trophy to get you all salivating in anticipation!
Tim is in the chair, aided and abetted by Adam, Rio and River. They're all buzzing for the weekend, but then again, who isn't?

First up it's meet the newbie as we get good old Cookie (no, not that one, everyone's second favourite Wealdstone related Cookie) to open his heart and briefly tell us his backstory.
Then onto the nuts and bolts. The away FAC game at Grimsby which started out on paper as a bit of a damp squib, and turned into one of the great Stones away days, And then the trip to Shots last Saturday and our well deserved 3 points there. Plus there's the NLC game midweek against Fulham. Exciting stuff!

Onto the previews with matches against Dale at home, Eastleigh away and then Tamworth at home.
We have a look at recent player developments as Dreher departs, Hutch and Scotty go out on loan, and Dion is recalled. Also, what's the situation with Sam in the sticks? Questions are asked about the clubs communication when it comes to such matters.
And finally, it's looking forwards to Wycombe at home in the cup, on the telly, at stupid o'clock in the morning. What do we all think about that then? Also, Pete reminds us all about the elephant in the room. It's been a year since the new stadium plans were announced, and there's been scant news? Is anything happening? We assume it must but it would be nice to hear something official from the club just to reassure the fan base, and something with more reach than a small post on the fans forum. More comms please!

Are we now seeing what we think is our strongest 11, and are the dynamic duo of Reid and Ashford going to be the catalyst to a resurgence in our fortunes on the pitch?
Then it's all eyes North as the lure of the Cup pokes its head over the horizon, and the Stones faithful hit the road to Grimsby.
After that a quick look towards the upcoming fixtures arriving in the next few weeks including the mouth watering game against Fulham U21's and who we're almost certainly going to draw in the 2nd and 3rd round as it's written in the stars obviously!

It's been a testing couple of weeks for everyone, so let our chaps take you back and remind you just how testing it can be following this club, eh? Who wouldn't want that fun?

Part 1 00:00 Tim is actually a first time guest on the cast, so as a newbie he has to fill us in on his Stones credentials. It's the law after all. Then it's on to business as we look back at the last 3 games against Southend, Halifax and Gateshead, and in particular how late goals are killing us so far this season.
Part 2 47:00 The somewhat sticky subject of how Matt Taylors tenure at the club so far has gone, and is it understandable that in some corners of the fanbase there's rumblings of the guillotine being mentioned. Are the justified? Does he stay or does he go, and if he does stay how long has he got to turn things around?
There's also the reasonable statement that not scoring goals is as big a problem for us as conceding them late on, so what do we do about that?

We welcome back Sam Howes and cast an eye over the new addition of Elliot Thorpe.
Then it's the arrival of the National League Cup, of which some are less welcoming than others, especially with the way the competition came into existence and with what the underlying motives of the Premiership clubs might be.
Closing out we discuss what Georgiou has to do to get a game, is Taylor too much of a tinkerer, and just like the "down the hill" thing, is the "midweek under the lights" thing also a thing?
There's a lot to "thing" about and it's down to Mark Hyde to heard the cats this week, with Hillsy, McMiserable and Riv the ones having the kittens.

Your super soaraway Stonescast is back for episode 2 of the new season, and the games now start coming thick and fast.
In this episode we look back at the opening two games at Daggers and home to Oldham and discuss how our points tally could look a lot different if it wasn't for small margins.
Then, coming over the hill we've got Sutton, Pools, Fylde and Solihul is quick succession in a tough open passage of games which could see us in a happy place, or easily looking down the barrels of the relegation zone.
Missing players are a problem, but what about our striking options, and is our keeper up to the task?
There's very much a difference of opinion in this episode which ring master Paul keeping the peace (or not in some cases) between Cameron, Alex and newbie Aaron.

We're back to full strength to close it out as the boys look back at the last 5 games, the highs and lows, the stress and the joy and how in particular Sam Cox has lead the squad back towards the level we've seen from them.
We reflect on the season as a whole, particularly the high and low points, and look forwards to defying the odds again next year as we remain in the National League, and do we think it'll be a lot more evenly balanced considering the sides looking likely to be in it.
And then there's the obvious question of who do we think will be in the running for the top job next season?
And finally Chris gets (quite understandably) upset about a certain pamphlet that dropped on a few residents doormats in the locale last week.

Cameron marks his debut on the cast with his Stones back story before we dig our teeth into the meat and two veg of current activities.
First up unsurprisingly is the news of the departure of the Manager following a run of disappointing results, so we discuss where did it all go wrong and what we need to do for the remaining games this season to retain our NL status. This obviously means we have to discuss the games against Oxford, Solihull and Wood, but perhaps we shouldn't dwell too long on them.
Then a brand new feature as Hillsy introduces Quiz Time to the cast.

So a new era begins, and it's all hands on deck for the last 5 games, and the battle for survival. How many points can we get, where are they coming from, and will they be enough?
We also look at the relegation run-in for all the runners and riders hovering around the drop zone.
And finally Adam comes up with some frankly ludicrous conspiracy theories which honestly we shouldn't have even bothered giving air time to because they're the footballing equivalent of the Flat Earth Society.

After that, it's down to business. Firstly we ask them what their assessment of the club is, in it's current state. Then we look back at the departure of Stu and Matt and how the club reacted to that. Following on we discover what the plan is next season. Do we remain part time, or is hybrid/full time a realistic possibility? After that it's looking at the recruitment process of our new management team, and how we got the man we wanted.

Several club stalwarts have moved on and we discuss the reasons and what it means for the future. Then the big one, what's happening with the new stadium, how close are we, what do we have to do to make it a reality, is there incoming investment to get it over the line? Following on from that, where does that leave us with Grosvenor Vale, and does it have a part to play moving forwards?

Suddenly we find ourselves looking down the table instead of up. How are we planning to survive in the National League if things go pear shaped and we find ourselves looking at the abyss. More rumours abound around the club. Is there an imminent takeover on the horizon? Looking at the squad, do we see wholesale changes, and how do we keep those we want to stay?
The board are passionate about the club, and stress the absolute fact that when the time comes, and the baton gets passed to the new custodians to take it over, that they are the correct fit, that they get us, and just as importantly we get them. The legacy of the current board won't be handing it over to the wrong people. The board have a responsibility to the club and it's name, and on some occasions the fans also carry that responsibility as well, and would be well advised to remember that considering the negative effect it can have when we don't.
And then when you think, "by Jove, that was a good cast!" Hillsy closes out with some of the worse questions we've ever had the pain of listening to!

Well well, do we have a treat of an episode for you this time? Not only do we have 4 regular faces and a newbie on, but our humble podcast has been graced by the presence of club first team manager Stuart Maynard. And what's more, he's got a lot to talk about!

There's much grumbling and grinding of teeth over the recent defeats against Shots and Daggers, as we chew over the bones of those two games. What do we do with a keeper who promises so much, but currently seems to be carrying round more clangers than a bell ringers convention, and a forwards line that don't appear to be able to hit hit a cows arse with a banjo? For some reason the epic victory against Fylde seems to have been forgotten about, which is a bit odd considering the nature of the victory.
And we also have a bit of a look forwards to Hartlepool and Ebbsfleet as they hove into view on the horizon.

Now the games have been put to bed we turn our minds to other earth shatteringly important matters. Are we witnessing the slow death of the matchday programme? What are our striking options going forwards? And in a new apex of football fan buffoonery (a department where the bar has already been set pretty high) the boys discuss whether getting pensioners in on the coaching staff is the answer to our goal scoring woes. Yes, the boys were temporarily stunned into silence with this suggestion too. You'll never guess who suggested it either.
But worry ye not, there's plenty of sensible debate in this episode to offset the stupidity. Tim returns to the hosts hot seat and is ably assisted by Jez, Hillsy and McMiserable.

Stonescast EXTRA! with Darren Linden

16 months ago, a chap with big ideas, bright eyed and bushy tailed, was brought onto the WFC Executive Board to drive our engagement. That gentlemans name was Darren Linden, and before he'd even got his feet under the table at the club we kidnapped him and forced him to appear on the cast and tell us all about what the role entailed (episode 3 and 3 Quarters if you want to go back and listen to it again).
Darren kindly offered to come back a year or so later and tell us all about what's been going on behind the scenes over that period, and give the fans an exclusive expose of what goes on behind the mighty oak doors of the Boardroom. Ok, the slightly flimsy glass panelled doors of the Aquarium Bar if we're being truthful about this.
This is an excellent episode where Darren is his usual open and informative self and we just haven't got the space to shoehorn everything we talked about into the episode description. Rest assured though it's chock full of content and he answers many of the questions that our listeners and Stones fans seem to be regularly asking.
It's Adam and Sudhir that have him on the rack early on a Sunday morning down at the Vale, and there's sure to be something in here that will open your eyes or surprise you.
We should also at this point thank Watford Women FC for gracefully allowing us to record whilst they were doing their pre-match preparation today, so please forgive us any background hub-bub on the recording!

Reflection on the last year. We've done well with youth engagement and increasing those numbers, but are we losing the 30 Something fans? Some interesting thoughts on the finances come out as well.

How much of an impact the club has been making in the community, and why that's so important. Also we're really pushing back into engaging with schools in Harrow and perhaps are a bigger draw than a certain "other club" in the area.
The challenges ahead of us and a positive "new step culture". The "Sutton Model" is one we can definitely reference, whereas that's probably not the case of the other clubs in our division. We're unique so that's why we have to have a unique plan going forward that will work for us.
What do we do if we don't get a new lease that works for us?

Daggers at home in store for the Stones this Saturday as the carrot of a potentially big First Round Proper tie is dangled in front of us once again.

In this episode of Stonescast we learn the harsh lesson that you don't try to record your podcast during a monsoon! We've managed to edit out the worst of the rain noise, but there is an absolute deluge about 19 minutes in that defied any attempts to silence, but bear with it as it only lasts a couple of minutes.
Anyway, to business. Hillsy hosts with Sudhir, Dave, Paul and debutante Clive fielding the questions. We look back at the recent games, and forwards to Torquay, Eastleigh and the BT Sport Live Game verses Solihull at home.
It's also half term report time and the boys cast their eyes over the performances so far of both the squad and management.
In light of this evenings (Thurs 30th) news, they also discuss the perhaps surprise departure and the possible ramifications of the decision.

Our first proper awayday in this division in more years than most of us want to think about at Chesterfield, and whether we should be disappointed to have "only taken 170..." there.
Also under the spotlight is the opener at home to Woking, and in particular under the microscope, the fixture against Southend at the Vale. How did we do both on and off the pitch?
Also we debate such diverse subjects as whether the digital age - in particular online ticket sales - is driving our more elderly less internet savvy fans away from attending games, mini-leagues within a league, playing it out from the back giving fans heart attacks, and whether a vasectomy is a cheaper option to buying replica kit.

It's a special!
Sudhir has press ganged a group of the "next generation" of Stones fans into the studio and talks to them about what on earth got them involved with the club, and what keeps them there.
Have these whippersnappers really got a different reason why they follow the club compared to the 50 somethings that normally appear on our cast? Is their experience the same or has non-league football changed since their parents started dragging them - often unwillingly - to matches?
There's of course frequent references to drinking, but it's Wealdstone so what did you expect?
Also Sudhir has a quick chat with new board appointee Darren Linden about comms and what the clubs is doing to try and engage the next-next generation of fans to Grosvenor Vale.
Joining Sud is regular contributor and generally old git Mark Hyde, with mainstays of the "middle-yoof revolution" Akhil Rawal, Tom Marshall, Rob Platt and Leo Werin.
It's a good one apart from the Host totally losing any concept of time and space near the end, so hope you enjoy.

Finally the new season is upon us, and in this episode the boys discuss what we've seen so far in pre-season, upcoming Home fixtures against Woking and Southend and how they think we'll deal with potentially large crowds at The Vale, and with Chesterfield on the horizon the excitement of the Away games that will come think and fast, and how our fans might discover awaydays aren't quite what they were before the heady heights of the National League.
Hillsy is in the chair, with coachmeister Dave along for the ride, as well as regulars Sudhir and Mark.

Coming up next week we have the "Middleyoof" special where we've dragged 4 second generation Stones fans away from their X-boxes and Panda Pops and forcefully made them speak about what the club means to them, instead of you having to listen to a bunch of old fogies going on about the halcyon days of football when it was so much better blah blah blah.
