Con motivo de lo que celebramos como la Semana Santa, deseo compartirles una pequeña serie de estos cinco sueños que tuvo mi viejo en episodios individuales durante la semana. Compartiré uno diario que comenzaran desde este lunes 11 de abril, hasta el viernes 15 de abril.

Mi viejo era un ser humano humilde e introvertido. El nunca hizo alarde de estas visiones y sueños que tuvo con nadie para evitar ser visto de una manera errónea. El siempre prefirió mantener su silencio. Yo creo firmemente, que el mundo debe saber la calidad de hombre que mi viejo era y que indiscutiblemente era, un ángel terrenal entre nosotros. ¡Es hora!

I have always thought that the decisions of the heart should not only be legitimate, but they also be final. Desde pequeño, recuerdo que mi padre, Rafael Cortes, solía tener sueños que el consideraba extraños y hasta complicados para habilidad de interpretarlos. En más de una ocasión me compartió varios de estos sueños los cuales no solamente me intrigaban, pero también encontraba fascinante.

Ya he compartido en este podcast la triste noticia de que mi querido viejo, Fey, partió el pasado mes de agosto en medio de una campaña que valientemente peleó contra su deficiencia cardíaca.

Esta semana llegó a mi poder una libreta donde el redacto sus últimos 5 sueños junto con la interpretación personal que le adjudicó a cada uno de estos.

Con motivo de lo que celebramos como la Semana Santa, deseo compartirles una pequeña serie de estos cinco sueños que tuvo mi viejo en episodios individuales durante la semana. Compartiré uno diario que comenzaran desde este lunes 11 de abril, hasta el viernes 15 de abril.

Mi viejo era un ser humano humilde e introvertido. El nunca hizo alarde de estas visiones y sueños que tuvo con nadie para evitar ser visto de una manera errónea. El siempre prefirió mantener su silencio. Yo creo firmemente, que el mundo debe saber la calidad de hombre que mi viejo era y que indiscutiblemente era, un ángel terrenal entre nosotros. ¡Es hora!

Since I can remember, I have loved not only History, but moreover, everything that deals with medieval subjects and/or The Crusades. This episode is one that I wrote considering actual historic details and accounts of some of the many books I have read. I combined a fictional character and places to actual historic events. The result of this production gives me chills every time I listen to it. If you love History as much as I do, this episode will blow your mind! I hope you like it.

Nightmares are horrible. It is a mystery as to why they sometimes find us. Perhaps, there may be an explanation to some as it relates to why sometimes go through these, but in my case, I had no clue the reason for this one. One that woke me up in the middle of the night because of its intensity. I simply woke up and redacted the event, and now, I have condensed it into this episode for you to hear. — Ralph

Tal vez, puede haber una explicación para algunos en relación con el por qué a veces pasamos por esto, pero en mi caso, no tenía ni idea de la razón de por qué ocurrió. El tiempo deja marcas en nuestras vidas. Pero el tiempo también deja su efecto en nuestros cuerpos. A medida que entramos en edad, se nos dificulta ser quienes en una ocasión fuimos, y de hacer cosas que solíamos disfrutar. Hay momentos en que cuando necesitamos estar en pie de lucha, y aunque la voluntad este presente, el cuerpo nos recuerda donde estamos ahora, y del por que en ocasiones, el corazón, se rinde.

Time leaves marks on our lives. But time also leaves its effect on our bodies. As we get older, it becomes difficult for us to be who we once were, and to do things that we used to enjoy. There are times when we need to be fighting, and although the will is present, the body reminds us where we are now, and why sometimes the heart simply gives up.

Guakia-Baba means "our Father", which in essence, is a prayer to our God. This one however, is in the language of my ancestors, the Caribbean Taino Indians who settled in the island of Puerto Rico. I wonder if you will feel as emotional as I did producing it. It is the best way to close this wonderful second season. I love you all! En una ocasión me detuve a observar, frente a un espejo, a una lágrima que salia de mi ojo ante un episodio muy triste que viví. Me encontré una noche contestando correos electrónicos relacionados con mi trabajo, cuando repentinamente me llegaban sentimientos de angustia y de dolor. La realidad es que al ser portador de una condición degenerativa en mi espalda baja, vivo una vida en dolor crónico constante. Este a su vez, no solo limita la actividad motora en muchos de los eventos que solía tomar parte, pero también es la causa en el cambio de mí estado anímico. Consecuentemente, la angustia del dolor se convirtió en la ira de la batalla mental. Pensaba en la contribución que el enemigo de las almas tiene en medio de todo esto, y bajo la línea del mismo coraje, imaginé qué escribiría, si pudiera contestarle con un correo electrónico. Me levanté de la cama, y  redacté este Recordatorio.

Suplicio significa "sufrimiento moral, especialmente el causado por algo que se espera y no llega." En mi caso es el deseo de no sentir dolor. Al ser portador de una degenerativa condición en mi espalda baja, el dolor constante es algo normal en mi vida…y algo desearía perder.
