Chapter 5 of Exodus marks the beginning of the conflict between God and Pharaoh. The Egyptian ruler asks - Who is the Lord? This question will be answered over the next 10 chapters as God reveals His power and His authority to this unbelieving tyrant. As for Israel, God is committed to be their redeemer - He will be the close relative that brings the nation out of slavery. When we are suffering, can we trust that God's faithfulness will outlast our pain?

Silent until this point in the book, in Exodus 3 God speaks at length with Moses and reveals not only His divine identity, but provides Moses insight into his own identity. From this point on, God will show again and again WHO He is and how He will care for His people. In answer to human insecurity God offers us HIMSELF as reassurance.

Teaching at our Neighbourhood Table, Andy continues the story of Moses in chapter 2 of Exodus. Moses sees the injustice against God's people, but he fails in his attempts to address it and he ends up committing injustice himself. God sees everything that is going on and is turning towards action to keep his covenant promises. How do we keep hope with God, waiting for Him to save us, in the midst of difficult circumstances?

Welcome back to Table Radio and a new season of the podcast!
This fall we will be studying the first 19 chapters of the book of Exodus and learning about God's redemptive promise to all generations.

In the final instalment of our series for Summer 2026, Anna sums up our study of Hebrews chapters 1 to 6.

At our Neighbourhood Table gathering Andy looks at Hebrews 6:4 to 12 and asks how we can pay attention and keep our hearts attentive to God in the midst of the challenges of life? How can we hold on and ensure that our spiritual lives produce healthy fruit?

Tonight Andy looks at Hebrews 5:11 to 6:3 and the discussion of what it means to become a mature disciple of Jesus. How do we grow up as a Christian? How do we embrace freedom AND formation at the same time?

This week at our Neighbourhood Tables, we look at Hebrews chapter 5 and Jesus the great high priest verses the high priests of ancient Israel. How does His work as mediator compare with other kinds of priests throughout history?

Anna looks at the next section of Hebrews 4 and how God's word confronts us, exposing who we are and what our hearts contain. Like God Himself, the Word of God is alive and is able to penetrate into the human heart.

Continuing in our series on Hebrews, our friend Alan Thorimbert looks at the first 11 verses of chapter 4 and the rest that God promises to give His people.

Continuing in chapter 3 of Hebrews, Yvonne Mann looks at the history of Israel and the continued struggle to have trust between us and God. With the gift of Jesus, we have greater opportunity to trust in and know God Himself.

This week we continue our series with Hebrews chapter 3, verses 1 to 6 where Andy discusses Jesus' authority as the Son of God. This designation gives Him a greater authority than other leaders and we can relate to Him in a different way. Jesus gathers a people together around his person and his gospel. He points the way towards healthy religious belonging under his merciful authority.

This week at our Big Table gathering Anna takes us through Hebrews 2:14 to 18 and discusses how Jesus is like us and he acts for us.

This week our Neighbourhood Tables are studying Hebrews 2:5 to 13 and Jesus' role in our salvation. Jesus makes a path for us and he is not ashamed to call us family.

Tonight we begin chapter 2 of Hebrews, verses 1 to 4 and the first of many warnings in this book.

Tonight at our downtown Neighbourhood Table, Andy looks at Hebrews 1:5 to 14 and God's declaration about His Son.

Tonight we begin our summer sermon series on the book of Hebrews! Written to a group of Christian who were struggling to follow Jesus, this book is written to encourage them to keep going. Anna preaches on Hebrews chapter 1 verses 1 to 4.

Pentecost is the celebration of the birth of the church. Tonight Andy teaches on John 14:8 to 17 and Jesus preparing his disciples for his departure and the arrival of the Holy Spirit. How do we receive God's gift of Himself to us?

For our last week on the topic of generosity, Anna looks at the topic of time in the context of Ephesians 5:15 to 20. How do we make the most of the time God gives us? The letter warns us to use wisdom when trying to decide how to use our time, to act and speak with godliness and integrity. How do we balance obedience and grace together as we go about our daily life?

Continuing in our Open Hands series on generosity, Andy looks at the topic of time in the context of Luke 10:38 to 42 and the scene of Jesus with Mary and Martha. Do we confuse frantic busyness with discipleship? Do we forget to receive from God first before we try and be useful to Him?

Continuing in our series on generosity, Andy examines the topic of Treasure, or money, in the context of 2 Corinthians 8:1-9. When is the right time to give? What portion of our money should we give to God? What have I received from God and when do I know if I have enough of what I need?

Continuing in our series on generosity, Andy discusses the hot topic of money, as it relates to Matthew chapter 6 and Jesus' teaching in the Sermon on the Mount. What are we asking money to do for us that only God can do?

This week, Andy discusses 1 Corinthians 12:4 to 27 and how we can honour God with our Talent.

For the Easter season we begin a new series called Open Hands: A Series on Generosity. For the next several weeks, we will examine our relationship with Time, Talent, and Treasure and discuss how we can use these gifts to honour and worship God. Tonight at our Neighbourhood Table gathering, Andy discusses Talent in the context of 1 Peter chapter 4.

Today we celebrate Christ's resurrection with a look at the account in Matthew's gospel and the roots of our faith found in the testimony of women. Matthew invites us to "go and see" and determine for ourselves who Jesus really is. The one who was crucified now lives forever. This reality makes a quantifiable difference in the world and in our own lives.

In this section of Matthew, Jesus delivers a challenging message. He is connecting how we treat the vulnerable with how we treat Christ himself. Will we show the same mercy to others that Jesus extends to us?

Tonight Andy teaches on the parable of the 10 Bridesmaids found in Matthew 25. Why does Jesus tell this parable and what does it mean?

This week Andy teaches at one of our Neighbourhood Tables on Matthew 23 and Jesus' weeping over Jerusalem, lamenting the state of the city. The judge of humanity is also the grieving king. Here, Jesus does not choose between truth and tenderness, but he is honest in his grief.

Jesus once again has a confrontation over money with the leaders in Jerusalem. This time, it concerns the matter of paying tax to the state. How do we live as Christians in a secular state? How do we live wisely and also be faithful to Jesus?

Anna continues where we left off last week in Matthew chapter 21, verse 12. Here we see a very different side of Jesus, who heads to the temple courts to drive out all those who are selling and buying goods there. This is a different side of Jesus' kingship, as he takes authority in his Father's house and addresses the many issues concerning worshipping God at the temple site. Do we have our priorities straight when it comes to worshipping Jesus?

For Lent we transition to the end of Matthew's gospel and Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem, the wild city. This will be the final week of his life, and he will continue to meet with chaos and confrontation during his time in the city. This week we ask the question - what is discipling us? The news cycle? Our anxiety? Or will we let Jesus Christ himself be our teacher?

Come observe Lent with us as we celebrate Ash Wednesday.

Jesus departs from the wilderness and begins his public ministry and he calls his first disciples to come follow Him. Instead of going directly to Jerusalem, he goes to the northern-most territories of Israel and spends time teaching and healing the poor. Jesus does not cater to the powerful, but desires to see freedom from sin for the oppressed, no matter their class or social status.

The Holy Spirit leads Jesus into the wild and the devil aims to disqualify Jesus from being Saviour. Everything Jesus says in response to this testing is wisdom from God written in the scriptures. In the same way, God uses these kinds of testing experiences to empower us and enable us to remain faithful throughout all seasons of life. God's love never lets go of us, even in the times of the wilderness.

In this passage Jesus is baptized by John and he aligns himself with the saving work of God. Even though he does not need to repent, Jesus chooses to step fully into Israel's story by being baptized and identifying with the need to repent that all others humans face. In this way, he shows that God's righteousness moves TOWARDS sinners, not away from them.

Matthew fast forwards 30 years and focusses on John the Baptist, who is calling people to repent and be baptized to prepare themselves for the coming of Jesus and His kingdom. What does repentance look like for us? What separates the "wheat and chaff" people and how do we know which one we are?

Continuing the story of the holy family in the wild, the gospel of Matthew reveals a pattern for those who feel threatened and what they are willing to sacrifice. Following Jesus does not guarantee us safety and it can often mean being obedient in the darkness, but even in that darkness God is still with us.

Andy begins our new series for Epiphany, Jesus in the Wild. We turn first to Matthew chapter 2 and look at how Christ comes to those outside the people of God and makes Himself known to them. How can we trust God in uncertain places? What might God reveal to us in the wild places?

For this third week of Advent, Andy teaches on Isaiah 35 and the command to REJOICE! What is joy in the context of our faith, how is it different from happiness, and how do we embrace it in the midst of darkness and suffering?

For our second week of Advent, Anna examines what Isaiah the prophet tells us about the kind of leader Jesus is and will be.

Join us as we celebrate the beginning of another new year in the church with our first Advent Sunday! Andy takes a look at Isaiah 2 and what it is we're all waiting for.

Andy finishes our series with a discussion of Revelation 7. Our greatest hope comes from love that gives everything for others.

Anna continues in our fall series with a discussion of Revelation chapter 6 for our Neighbourhood Table gathering.

This chapter of Revelation looks closely at WHO is sitting on the throne in heaven. This same person is the only One worthy to open the scroll of history and to inherit all of the events contained there. The identity of that slain Lamb not only reveals who is on the throne in the middle of the universe, but it also reveals who we are to be and how we are to follow Him.

At our Neighbourhood Table gathering Andy asks - what kind of leader is worthy of having authority and power? Chapter 4 of Revelation is a vision of the throne room of God in heaven and John describes in vivid detail all that he sees there.

Looking at the second church addressed in chapter 3, Josh asks - How do we know we're okay? How do we measure if things with God are going well? We see from these addresses to individual churches that God's way of measuring our level of spiritual faithfulness is very different from our own.

This week, Josh teaches at our Downtown Neighbourhood Table gathering on Revelation 3 and the churches of Sardis and Laodicea. These two churches thought they had everything figured out, but Jesus loves them enough to tell them the truth about themselves.

Finishing off Revelation chapter 2, Andy examines the letters to the churches in Smyrna, Pergamum and Thyatira. What is the cost of being a faithful witness to Jesus? What are some of the fears we experience when we consider how to follow Him today? How do we live with integrity and hold fast to the faith we aspire to?

Teaching at our downtown Neighbourhood Table, Anna introduces our discussion of Revelation 2:1-7, then she invites our groups to ask themselves some of these questions:

1. Which aspect of the church in Ephesus do you most identify with and why?

2. What things might we love more than Jesus?

3. What is one concrete step you can take this week to hear what the Spirit is saying to you?

This week Anna concludes chapter 1 of Revelation and the vision John receives of the risen Jesus. What does his appearance mean? How can we understand this picture of Christ and how it applies to our context?

Welcome back to Season 6! This week at our Downtown Neighbourhood Table, Andy teaches on the next 4 verses of Revelation chapter 1. In this section, John discusses the centrality of Jesus and his love for us. The unveiling of Jesus in Revelation shows us a greater reality than what we can immediately see.

As we start Season 6 we also start a new series on Revelation 1 to 7 called Unveiled: Jesus Among Us! Andy begins with the very first 3 verses of the book and discusses how Jesus is still present even when we can't see evidence to support that belief.

Andy wraps up our Acts series with a recap of the whole book and the beginnings of Christianity.  What does this story reveal about what we need to believe about Jesus Christ and how do these beliefs shape our lives?

Coming to the end of Acts, Andy preaches on Acts 28 and Paul's continued journey to Rome after his shipwreck and his miraculous survival of a snakebite. As his journey comes to a conclusion, we continue to see God's hand on his life as the gospel of Christ goes forward.

At his last trial, Paul gives a long account of how he became a Christian and the motivation behind his continued defence of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He has had a radical transfer of allegiance and faces great opposition for sharing this news. What does it mean to convert to Jesus Christ? How do we encourage others to make this change?

Continuing in our Summer of Acts series, our guest speaker Alan Thorimbert teaches on Acts 24 and Paul's trial before Felix. How does our faith interact with our politics? Where does true justice come from and how do we see the image of God in all people whether or not they agree with us politically?

Continuing in Acts, Andy preaches from chapter 22:30 to 23:11 and Paul's trial before the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem. Where do we see ourselves in this story? Are we more like the Sanhedrin, divided and defensive? Or are we closer to Paul, anchored in hope and truth-telling?

Summer is here and so is our fourth season in the book of Acts! Picking up where we left off at chapter 21:27-36, Anna reviews the themes of Acts and Paul's work to share the good news of Jesus' kingdom with non-Jews all over the ancient world. In this last section of the book, Paul returns to Jerusalem to face direct opposition to his work as an evangelist and he willingly faces great personal danger for the sake of the gospel.

At our annual Pentecost celebration, Anna teaches on 1 Corinthians 12:4 to 14 and how the Holy Spirit enables us to live, worship, and believe in God together.

Closing up our Easter series, Andy looks at Luke 9:51 to 62 and what it means for us to follow Jesus.

Our text this week is Luke 9:28 to 36 as Anna examines the Transfiguration of Jesus and asks a few questions. Who is Jesus and what is He doing with us? Are we following after Him, or creating our own purpose and path? And finally, if we chose to follow Him, how do we renew our covenant friendship with Him?

Continuing in Luke 9, Andy looks at Peter's confession and the nature of discipleship.

Continuing in our Easter series, Andy takes a look at Luke 9:1-17 and asks who is Jesus and how do we follow Him?

Beginning at Luke 8:1 to 21, Andy looks at how to authentically hear Jesus and understand him so that we might follow Him.

Andy examines the story of the Road to Emmaus from Luke 24:13-35 and the questions the risen Jesus asks the 2 disciples on the road. How does Jesus speak to us and how should we respond? How does grappling with his questions help us pursue resurrection life?

In our last instalment on Lamentations, Anna looks at chapter 5 and asks a few questions - what do we do in times of loss and how do we reconnect to God and His goodness when it doesn't feel that He is still good?

Continuing in our Lenten series on Lamentations, Andy explores the theme of God's compassion in chapter 3. In ancient Hebrew poetry, the climax of the story is often in the middle instead of the end, making this chapter very significant.

For our Lenten study, we are looking at the book of Lamentations and uncovering the seeds of hope scattered there as the poet describes the emotional experience of exile. These 5 chapters are individual eulogies which serve as a funeral for a dead city (Jerusalem) and a dead nation (Israel). This week, we read about the suffering depicted in chapter 1 which was a result of Israel's habitual sin and the threads of mercy which are spread throughout the book.

Come mark the beginning of Lent with us as we celebrate Ash Wednesday and contemplate our humanity and God's divinity.

Beginning at Colossians 3:17, Anna explores the section entitled the "household codes" where Paul wrestles with how Christians should live out their faith in their current context. How can we be faithful to God within a surrounding culture that does not respect and may despise what we believe? Who is in charge of our relationships? What did Jesus say about human hierarchy and how should we live this in our homes and our communities?

Starting at chapter 2:6, Andy explores how different life can look for us when we place Christ at the centre. This effects all parts of our existence: our identity, our community, our job, everything. Paul tells us that with Christ we come alive in a new way. Life with Christ brings with it new freedom for us to enjoy.

Celebrating another confirmation with us, Bishop Mike preaches on Galatians 1 and the conversion of Paul on the road to Damascus. Meeting Jesus in a powerful way, Paul changes from persecuting Christians to being one of the greatest missionaries the church has seen. Our goal as Christians is to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit who guides us, banishes our anxious thoughts, and shows us the way.

New year, new series! We are diving into the book of Colossians and the revelation that Christ is the centre of everything.

Andy looks at the end of Luke chapter 1 and the interaction between Elizabeth and Mary and their prophecy regarding the coming Saviour. By reading their words, we discover that they are heroes for what it means to be the church today. In spite of their low position in society, they are at the very centre of God's activity in the world.

On this baptism Sunday, Anna examines Luke 3 and John the Baptist's announcement of the coming of Jesus. How do we prepare for Jesus' coming? What is the 'comfort' that the coming of Jesus will bring? What did Luke, Isaiah and John all want us to be ready for?

We begin Advent with a looking back at our Genesis series and how those learnings apply to this season of waiting for God to come again.

In our last instalment, Josh looks at Genesis 11 and the Tower of Babel story. Humans continue to resist faithful covenant with God and instead seek to build monuments to their own greatness. Despite God's offering of giving them a name, protection, and legacy, humanity decides they want to do it all on their own.

Andy looks at the events surrounding the flood and the further development of humanity and their interactions with God. Humans continue to grasp for meaning, fame, and power apart from their relationship with God, and concern for our own name becomes more important than becoming the faithful seed of God. How will God intervene and disrupt humanity's trend towards violence and sin?

Anna continues our Origins series looking at the first murder recorded in the bible, as humans go from taking forbidden fruit to taking each other's lives. Human sin and violence is escalating - how will God intervene? Will there be redemption even for "bad seed" people?

This week, Andy looks into the origin of sin as portrayed in Genesis 3 and the infamous fruit-eating episode. Why would a good, loving and wise God put something so dangerous in such a prominent location and forbid us from having it?

Andy looks at the topic of work in the frame of Genesis 1. What does "to be fruitful and multiply" mean in our life today? Is this calling from God still part of our created purpose?

Continuing in our Origins series on Genesis, Anna takes a look at the first chapter and the creation narrative. Faith prompts us to reach outwards and look at God to understand our universe and our created purpose. Genesis is just the beginning of the larger story God is wanting to tell, and he longs to show us our part in that story.

This fall we look at the first 11 chapters of Genesis and how they inform our understanding of God, ourselves, and our world. This week, Andy provides on introduction and helps us frame how to read and understand this first book of the bible and how it relates to the larger biblical story.

As Acts continues, we see the church continuing to wrestle with the details of the good news of Jesus. How does the story of God's rescue integrate within the first century Greco-Roman culture? How do we integrate our faith into our culture today? Will I change my belief system and my life to follow Jesus? How does our status as baptized believers impact my daily life?

Continuing our summer series in Acts, Anna looks at Acts 15 to 16 where despite conflict, God continues to grow his church. How do Christians remain in unity together in the midst of our disagreements and differences? How can our mission together be genuine if we are not united in Christ?

Starting off our second Summer in Acts series, Andy looks at Acts 14 and the good news of the coming kingdom of Jesus. Recognizing God and His kingdom work around us, we are invited to testify and to share in this wonderful work.

On Trinity Sunday, Bishop Mike Steward came to celebrate a confirmation service and provided a chance for us all to renew our own baptismal vows. He reminded us that we all have an open invitation to come to Jesus, the only god who himself has wounds as we do, and is eager for us to come to Him.

In the last instalment of our Nicene Creed series, Anna looks at baptism and what it means to belong to God and His kingdom.

As we come to the end of the Nicene Creed series, Josh examines the role of prophet in revealing the person of Jesus to the world.

As we come to the last section of the Nicene Creed, Andy discusses the nature of the Holy Spirit - The Lord, the Giver of Life. The Spirit brings freedom to our lives as we keep in step with God, trusting in His love for us.

Christ is risen! Looking at Colossians 3:1 to 4, Anna Spray explains that Jesus' miraculous resurrection points to our own future. This resurrection reality is the life of a Christian, and Colossians 3 encourages us to put our focus on that hopeful future.

In our last instalment in this series in John, Andy looks at the last portion of chapter 17 and Jesus' prayer for all his disciples. In his prayer, Jesus reveals his desire that we be in good relationship with God, ourselves, each other and all of creation so that we might bring glory to God the Father.

Continuing in John's gospel, Josh takes a look at the last half of chapter 16 and Jesus' final words to his disciples before he goes to the cross. To prepare them for his departure, he explains that he is the demonstration of the love the of the Father. There will be trouble ahead for them and for us, but his love and his victory will be our ultimate comfort.

Continuing in John's gospel, Andy looks at the first half of chapter 16 and how the Holy Spirit is our continuing companion after the earthly departure of Jesus.

Taking a detour from our series on the Nicene Creed, Anna takes a look at John chapter 15 and Jesus' instructions to remain in the vine.

Continuing in our series on the creed, Josh looks at Jesus as represented in the gospel of John, chapter 14 and why he describes himself as the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Continuing in our exploration of the Nicene Creed, Andy discusses the statement "For us and for our salvation he came down". In coming to earth the first time, Jesus crosses the barrier between earth and heaven because of the Father's love for us.

Josh looks at Jesus' promise to come again and what surprises that might hold. He also discusses our possible responses to Jesus' return and what we might do while we wait for him.

Merry Christmas from the Table! Anna shares the hope of the coming of Jesus and the anticipation of his coming again, bringing light and life to our darkness.

Beginning with 1 Corinthians 15:20, Andy discusses the reality of the resurrection and the events that followed. What does the resurrection mean for us and how does it impact our lives both now and in the future?

Josh and Andy discuss a letter they received "on behalf of those Christians who do not celebrate Christmas." Should they even be celebrating a holiday that has non-Christian roots and rituals?

Andy and Josh discuss Jesus' teaching on his coming again to judge the living and the dead. Can we have justice without judgment? Or is the whole topic just too 'judgy'?

Next in our Nicene creed series, Anna discusses the belief that Jesus died for a purpose - to atone for our sin and create a way for God and humanity to dwell together. It is in the death of Jesus that we discover who God really is and the depths of his love for humanity.

This episode Josh and Andy talk about God coming in the flesh.

This episode Josh and Andy talk about Jesus as the Son, the word "begotten" (not made), and a fancy word that means "of the same stuff".

This episode Josh and Andy talk about God and the creation of all things visible and invisible.

This episode Josh and Anna talk about God as Father and God as Almighty.

The Monday After is an extended discussion on the topics coming up on the Sunday prior. This season is called Revealed: The Mystery of God, during which we look at the a historic outline of Christian belief in the Nicene Creed.

This episode Josh and Andy talk about God, language, creeds, and mystery.

Continuing the exploration of the person of Jesus as written in the Nicene Creed, Andy discusses Jesus' incarnate nature - he was made man, although he was divine. In Jesus, God chooses to become a part of creation in order to pursue us.

This week Josh discusses Jesus as the best and only person to trust with all of who we are because of who he is. He is the firstborn of God, and he has supremacy in everything, holding in his person the fullness of God. In the face of Jesus we see the glory and goodness of God.

This week Andy explores the next section of the Nicene Creed that speaks about God as Creator - maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. How is God distinct as an un-created being? How do we understand his categories of existance?

In our second week on the Nicene Creed, Anna examines what it means to name God as both Almighty and Father. How do we understand and relate to these 2 different aspects of who God is?

New year, new fall series! We are beginning our fall season with a look at the Nicene Creed as the basis and bedrock of our faith. For our first instalment, Josh looks at who is God and how can we talk about him?

This week Andy explores how water relates and reveals God.

Here is one of the sermons from our Earth Speaks series from Spring 2023.
We examine how creation, in this case stone, confirms the truth of God to us.

Andy starts our Lenten series with an examination of the Lord's Prayer.

Looking at Beatitude 8, Anna discusses Jesus' hard teaching on persecution - Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. How do we live in the tension between our life on earth and our call to live kingdom values here and now?

This week, Josh takes a look at the 6th Beatitude - What does it mean to be pure in heart, and how does this help us see God? How can the goodness of Jesus be greater than the badness in and around us, and how can this goodness rub off on us?

In this next instalment on the Beatitudes, Andy looks at the promise that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be blessed. What does this mean? Why and how do we desire righteousness in such a visceral way?

New Year, new series! For 2023 we are starting with reading through the Beatitudes from Matthew chapter 5, Jesus most well known sermon. What is the blessed life and how do we live it?

Merry Christmas! Looking at the traditional Christmas passage from Luke 2, Andy examines the familiar scene of the Incarnation and the good news announcement of the arrival of Jesus. Greater than Moses, Jesus goes between God and broken humanity to make it possible for us to be closer to God and His goodness.

Turning this week to Hebrews chapter 8, Anna looks at the covenant promises of God to redeem humanity and Jesus as God's greatest expression of love to us.

Based on John chapter 1, Bishop Dan examines what it means for Jesus to be called the Word, the ultimate self-disclosure of God Himself, and what implications this might have for us.

Looking at Genesis 2, 3, and Revelation 21, Josh traces the biblical command to rest throughout old and new testaments. If rest is the climax of God's creation, how do we practise sabbath as God does? How do we put rest at the beginning of our weekly commitments and work from a place of being already refreshed?

Anna takes a look at the 9th command to not bear false witness against one another and discusses the connection between our speech and our relationships. How can we be people of our word as God is? How can we love our neighbours through every word we utter and those that are left unsaid?

Starting with Song of Songs chapter 8 and continuing into the New Testament, Josh discusses the challenging topic of adultery. How do we honour companionship with others and prevent our relationships from going sour? And what do we do when we fail? Can we trust God with our deepest desires or will we go somewhere else for comfort?

Exploring the meaning of the 5th command as laid out in Exodus 20:12, Andy addresses how to honour your parents and those close to you by giving weight to those we might be tempted to take for granted.

This week Anna leads us through a study of the 3rd commandment - do not take the Lord's name in vain. Why does God give this command and what implications does it have for our relationship to Him? How will we bear God's name and His reputation in the world today?

Continuing in our series on the 10 Commandments, Andy talks about how they reveal how to live in relationship to God with responsibility. As part of this responsibility, God asks us not to make and worship images of Him. Listen to Andy's explanation as to why!

In our new fall series looking at the 10 Commandments, Josh discusses the law as the tool God used to show us how to live both in relationship and with responsibility. Mystery and relationship are both bound up in God's desire for us to live with purpose and meaning.

Matthew 17:24-27

Anna sits down with Andy and talks about Jesus' strange way of paying the Temple Tax.

Earthquakes and Angels provide some fireworks to this scene but they are not the resurrection. The resurrection itself happens off camera but the life of resurrection is available to all who would listen to the witnesses and follow after Jesus.

Anna explores the relationship between this episode and the Old testament story of Moses coming down the mountain in the book of Exodus. Also, why COULDN'T the disciples cast out this oppressive spirit?

What is the meaning of the Transfiguration - that time Jesus took Peter, James and John up a mountain and was transformed in their presence. Elijah and Moses show up along with God's voice. Josh Wilton unpacks what is happening and what it has to do with us.

The Road of Following Jesus is Harder but its Good. And the punch line is that we get the presence of Jesus when we follow it.

In this episode, a clue to understanding why the church finds it so easy to get following Jesus wrong so often.

Looking at Matthew 16:5 to 12, Anna carries on in our Matthew series examining the temptation to doubt Jesus and his promises. Why do we try to replace Jesus with something else when we get a little uncertain in our faith? And when this happens, what should we do?

Beginning our Lenten series on Matthew 16, Andy takes a look at verses 1 to 4 and talks about Jesus' call to suffer for our sake verses the expectations of the religious leaders of his day.  What does Lent mean to us and how do we apply the practise of Lent to our lives?

Andy and Anna talk about our focus for Lent 2022 and our continued readings in Matthew.

Looking at the last portion of Matthew 13, Andy sums up our learnings on the kingdom of heaven and how we can apply that knowledge to our lives.

Looking at the Parable of the Pearl of Great Price from Matthew 13: 44-46, Andy asks us to reassess what we really value and examine the treasure that is God's kingdom.

Continuing in Matthew 13, Anna discusses what the Parable of the Mustard Seed reveals about the nature of God and his coming kingdom. Hidden and small, the gospel transforms us and the world gradually over time.

Communication is key.  So why does God talk in riddles when Jesus speaks in parables? Continuing in chapter 13 of Matthew's gospel, Josh takes a look at parables, why Jesus used them, and what they mean.

In the second instalment on the Parable of the Sower, Andy examines what God is sowing - the seed of His kingdom.

Looking at the Parable of the Sower, Andy examines the character of God (the One who Sows) and His Kingdom practises.
Matthew 13: 3-9, 18-23

In the first episode in our parables series, Anna explains what exactly is the kingdom of God and where is it located?

A new year and a new preaching series! For 2022 we are kicking the new year off with a look at the Parables of Jesus from Matthew 13. Anna and Andy explore why we're doing this and what we hope to learn this Epiphany season.

Four our last week of Advent, Josh takes us through Mark 13 as we ask several questions -How does the apocalypse of Jesus apply to the celebration of Christmas? Where do we focus our attention in this season filled with lights and distraction while our world is in suffering, and how will Christ reveal himself to us in the future?

Andy explains how we, like Mary and Elizabeth, are called to carry Christ to the world, bringing His hope, joy, and peace wherever we go.
Luke 1:39-56.

Continuing with the story of John the Baptist from Luke 3, we consider the words of his prophecy contrasted with our own frantic Christmas preparations. How does this time of year come to be connected to materialism when John was trying to get us ready to receive Jesus and His kingdom?

Welcome to Advent! Reading from Luke 3, Andy explores the call of John the Baptist and how it relates to our own. We too are called to live prophetically, living out the call of Emmanuel, God with us.

Our last offering in the Being Together Again Series, Andy takes a look at Romans 15:14 to 21 and what true friendship looks and how to come alongside one another.

Continuing in Romans 15 beginning at v. 7, Anna discusses the challenge of being in community  with people that are different from ourselves and following the command to love one another.

This week, Josh takes us through the first 6 verses of Romans 15 as he talks about how we can bear with one another and build one another up, even in the midst of our disagreements and divisions.

Looking at the next portion of Romans 14, Andy talks about how we can live life with one another based on who God is, what he has done for us, and how He has made us. Having a new identity in Christ and being adopted into God's life calls us into a completely new way of life.

For our Neighbourhood Table discussion, Andy looks at Romans 14:1-12 and talks about how we all have the same common need to belong to a place and to a group of people.

This week, Josh looks at Romans 13:11 to 14 as he discusses how we might use and experience time individually even while we are together.

This week, we continue the discussion on paying the debt of love as we look at Romans 5 and ask the question - How can we forgive one another when we don't feel like it?

Continuing in our Being Together Again Series, Anna guides us through a look at Romans 13:8 to 10 as we ask - how do I love my neighbour? What exactly does God call us to in our relationships with each other?

Taking a look at Romans 12:9-21,  Andy asks the question: why is it so hard to love people?
And how can God help us do it?

Looking at Romans 12:3-8, Andy talks about how part of being together again involves realizing that we are actually members of one another.

The completion of our summer series with Andy on Jesus and Mission.

Part 2 on Jesus and Mission from August 2021.

Freshly back from his sabbatical, Andy shares with us from Matthew 28:16-20, detailing what it would have been like to be one of Jesus' disciples around the events of his death and resurrection. What struggles might they have experienced that we might share in common? And what might it look like to be an apprentice of Jesus today, accepting his authority in our lives? How can we live a life in submission to Jesus?

Welcome to Season 2 of Table Radio! Our friend Liz Snell from L'Abri Canada speaks to us from 1 John 4 as she discusses the question of abiding in Christ in order to form a secure attachment with God.

Anna examines the gifts of the Spirit as described in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 and how the Holy Spirit enables us to serve in God's mission.

Jonathan, Anna and Josh sit down to look at Isaiah 6 and John 20 to talk about how we each have a role to play in responding to God and participating in His mission in the world.

Josh Wilton is a pastor, church planter, photographer, and creative communicator who also wrote a novel. He takes Vanessa & Andy on a tour of his creative processes as a parable for our life with God and one another.

Josh talks about 5 guidelines for engaging the world around us and noticing God's Presence:
Show up.
Don't miss the Moment.
Chase the Light.
Pay attention to Shadows.
Attend to the Details
