1 Timothy 3:14-15

14 I am writing these things to you now, even though I hope to be with you soon, 15  so that if I am delayed, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar (we are the support and foundation. It is the people, not the building, organizational infrastructure, or programs, who hold up and hold out God's Word.) and foundation of the truth.

1 Timothy 1:1-2, it tells us to stop those who are teaching what is contrary to the truth, things that are meaningless, and those things that do not help the people of God live a life of faith. 

God expects believers to have a pure heart full of love, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. But as the Word says, people are turning from the truth and spending time talking about things that are meaningless. Just pay attention to some of the discussions that have been on all social media and the news. We have so many people who are so eloquent/bold with their words but unfortunately, they really don’t know what they are talking about. 

As Christians, just like Paul, our testimony should show God’s mercy on the worst of sinners, showing that God is willing and able to save anybody with a willing heart. Sisters and brothers we have to hold tightly to our faith and keep our conscience clear, according to the Word, if we do not, our faith will become shipwrecked.

1 Timothy 2: Our Worship has to include praying for all people: asking God to help them, intercede on their behalf, and give thanks to them. God tells us when we pray for our world and government leaders, it brings peace and quiet lives to us that are marked by godliness and dignity, and it is good and pleases God because He wants everyone to be saved and to know and understand His truth. Let us pray with our holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy. 

1  Timothy 3: The standards for God's Leaders have not changed. Paul says a person who is desiring to be a church leader, is desiring an honorable position. The definition of honorable is upright, honest, just, conscientious, and scrupulous, honorable mean having or showing a strict regard for what is morally right. 

 Paul teaches us that there is a way that we as believers must conduct ourselves in and out of the church, especially leaders because we are the church of the LIVING GOD which is the pillar and foundation of GOD’S TRUTH!  Y’all everything we do in God's church matters; scripture tells us things decent and in order and do it as if the Lord is watching

INTRODUCTION: WILL THE REAL CHURCH OF GOD PLEASE STAND UP AND STAND  OUT?  

Ephesians 6:14- (AMP) So stand firm and hold your ground, having [a]tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart).

 Philippians 1:27-(NLT)- Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.

I’m talking about the people of God who live out what they believe, you live according to the Truth of God’s Word and live by the holy standards of God. You are reading the bible, and attending church to seek a real change in your life. You give and serve out of gratitude and humility. You stand up for righteousness, you hate the things God hates, and you desire to do the will of God. Am I getting your attention yet?

Jesus has to be our Lord and Savior.

 People of God we have been in the business of messing up God’s church for far too long. We are no different than the Egyptians, Pharisees, Sadducees, Assyrians, Hittites, and the non-believers. We may not be physically putting people in slavery or committing murders but we have enslaved a lot of people with these laws and regulations that have nothing to do with God’s free gift of salvation. 

 Do you really know why the church was even established? Do you what God expects from every church that is open in His name? Do you know what the needs are in your church/community?  

Y’all the true church of Christ is the ones that God loves, the one that loves God, the one He died for. According to the Word Jesus is coming back for His Bride, this is not a building or denomination. Church in Greek means “a called-out assembly”- called out of the world, set apart by Jesus, (plural and single). Y'all show me in the Bible where Jesus called the building the church!

7 Indeed, how can people avoid what they don’t know is going to happen?

 8a None of us can hold back our spirit from departing. None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death.

15 So I recommend having fun because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.

Seasons may include turmoil, transitions, and transformation but know God controls them all. In these seasons God may be silent because he waiting for the proper time to speak in a way that you are able and ready to receive what He is saying. 

God is not going to change your current situation because He is trying to change you, your heart, and your mind.

God is faithful, the seasons change, and we change but God remains the same. His love for us will never change. He is walking with us every step of the way, He is not allowing you to go through these seasons by yourself, He is there every step of the way, helping and molding us.

Time and seasons are on God's timeline, there is no need to get depressed, anxious, or impatient!  Don't underestimate the power of what our Father is producing in your life.  In the season of waiting be patient and allow the Lord to rescue you in a way that glorifies Him but is for your good.  Waiting is a process but trust and believe there is transformation occurring in every season of your life. 

The Grace of God changes everything, I am able to testify to this because of my own brokenness, deepest/darkest wounds, and devastating heartache.  I know that I am so loved by Jesus, He has comforted me in ways I can never fully describe. Please don't let go of the rope of Hope in the midst of whatever God allows coming your way. 

Embrace your seasons: NEW LIFE, NEW BEGINNINGS, NEW ENDINGS, NEW PURPOSE, NEW HOPE, NEW STRUGGLES, NEW TERRITORY, NEW POSITIONS, NEW COURAGE- YOUR NEWNESS IS ALWAYS A REASON TO CELEBRATE WHAT GOD IS DOING IN YOUR LIFE.

SCRIPTURES: 

PSALM 1:3 (KJV)- “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” 

PSALM 103:1-5 (NLT)- “Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. 2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
 4 He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
 5 He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles!
6 The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.

 This verse tells us that we have to be planted and rooted so that we can produce. Look at what it says that I will produce fruit in my season to bear fruit. God is trying to tell you that no matter what season you are in when it’s your time, nothing can stop what He has produced. My brothers and sisters none of us can escape spiritual winters and we don’t know when they will come but we can prepare for them. Notice I said them because they will keep coming.  

This season is about us seeing God do the impossible on the inside of us, we can’t see the roots (faith) but we are trusting the process.  We have to do our part, Preparing and Proclaiming, and God will do the Providing and Progressing. Y’all, there are so many people we know who are going through different seasons than we are, they may be in the season of reaping, rejoicing and reproducing and we may question God about the season we are in: why me, why now, or why this? Just remember God knows what it will take to make your roots grow wide and deep ( he knows what it’s going to take to get you through this winter season).  

LESSONS IN MY WINTER SEASONS:

1.     I must learn to accept and receive in the winter season whatever God wants to do in my life. I have learned not to hurry thru but am surrendering and appreciating what God is doing on the inside of me. God is maturing me, I am seeing and feeling the progress. Aren’t you?

2.     I am looking forward to the new opportunities for God to use me and trusting God even more. He is giving me more even when on the outside my situation may be looking bleak and barren.

3.     My winter has been about talking to God about my future, and His desires for me (my dreams, my weakness, my failures, my sins, my heartaches) I’m letting Him cultivate them the way they should be so I am ready for my next winter season.

4.     I realized that my dormancy has been necessary for growth and my future fruit (it is the type of rest that winter forces on you) It has to happen before I have fruit that will last. I am learning to ask and use wisdom in my winter and just invite it in as a guest (it comes unexpectedly but it doesn't stay forever).

5.     My winter season has been so much better since I walk and not run in it, I am realizing that God is truly more than enough and He is always with me and gives me exactly what I need. 

6.     I am learning that if I use this season wisely, resting, sharpen my tools (faith), changing my diet, and bad habits. It has not been difficult, out of control, or a hopeless situation. I have been reflecting on what God has brought me through and His faithfulness in my past winters and I can be assured that He will continue to walk with me.

SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 8:22- "As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day, and night.”

 PSALM 74:15-17

15 You caused the springs and streams to gush forth, and you dried up rivers that never run dry.
16  Both day and night belong to you; you made the starlight and the sun.
 17  You set the boundaries of the earth, and you made both summer and winter.

Galatians 6:9- “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.”

A king had four sons. To teach them an important lesson he decided to ask them to visit a cherry tree in the deep forest of their kingdom.

During the peak winter, he asked his eldest son to go and see the tree and write a description of the tree. The prince came back and told that the tree is barren, old, and hopeless. Not even birds are coming near the tree. It looks useless and maybe it is better to cut it down and use the wood before it rots.

During the middle of the spring, the king asked his second son to visit the tree and write a description of the tree. The prince came back and told that the tree is not barren, rather it is full of beautiful cherry blossoms and looks young and promising. The tree is surrounded by butterflies and bees who are enjoying its flowers.

Then, in the summer the king sent his third son to go to see the tree and come back with a description. When the prince returned, he told that there are no blossoms, rather the tree is loaded with delicious cherries and looked mature and valuable. Many birds are living on the tree and enjoying the fruits.

Finally, in autumn the king asked his youngest son to visit the tree and bring back a description of the tree. The prince returned and described that the tree now has no fruit or flowers as his brothers described. But it looks beautiful with its colored leaves with lovely shades of gold, red and orange. It looks like an ideal object for a painting.

Then the wise king asked his sons “What did you learn from this experience?”

The other three princes were still thinking when the youngest son shared his understanding:

·         Like the tree, we experience different seasons of life and we are greatly affected by them.

·         We should not judge our life based on only the current season in our life.

·         Every season has a purpose.

·         No matter what the current season is, it will change again.

As I end, remember that we need to stop waking things up before we are ready for them because they may destroy us.

1 “For everything, there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” 

11 “Yet, God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

15 “What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again. 

 “Tis the Season to be Jolly” and some of the lyrics in the song deal with the old year passing away and the new year coming. It deals with joy, winds, and weather and even though winter does not seem like the best time to celebrate, it really should be. This is why this season of Touched by Mercy and living on Grace is dealing with the seasons of life using the seasons that God created: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall in the spiritual aspects. 

The first season that I wanted to reflect on is one of the seasons I have dreaded and rushed through for many years and the one we are in right now is Winter. I would begin to dread the winter season as soon as Daylight Savings Time would take effect and I would look into the next year to see when Daylight Ending Time would start, it starts March 12. But after this study, God has given me a new perspective and reminder of just how wonderful and helpful Winter is for my mind, body, and spirit. 

He reminded me of some of the things I learned in science years ago. On December 21, 2022, around 4:47 pm Eastern time, the Earth goes into Winter Solstice. During this time, the Earth is closest to the sun and for 3 whole days, the axis of the Earth-PAUSES, SHIFTS, AND MOVES in the opposite direction.  During this time, we may physically, mentally, and spiritually experience the standstill and shift of direction. I believe this is what God wants us to do in the Winter seasons of our lives, when the nights are long, the days are short, hard, cold, and even cruel. When it seems as if God and everyone around us are quiet, no one understands and you feel alone. This is the season when God is asking us to slow down, be quiet, and listen.

This season in our life is about God giving us rest, an ending and a new beginning, a time to reflect, and a time to dissect ourselves. During this time we should be preparing, experiencing patience, and hope. This is the season when God gives us new visions, new inspirations, and new ideas. 

We see our shadow more in the winter, this is why we should pause and see that overshadow what God is trying to do in our lives, it should cause me to shift from being focused on ourselves to the things and goodness of God, and it is when we begin to seek changes that line of with the will of God because we have been resting, listening to God, and clearing out our mind and heart. 'Tis the season, because just like the seasons repeat themselves, things in our life will repeat and each new season grows us to deal with whatever comes our way.

Ephesians 6:14-15- 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.                               

Romans 8:6- 6 For to be [a]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Numbers 6:24-26- 24 “May the Lord bring good to you and keep you. 25 May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be kind to you. 26 May the Lord show favor toward you, and give you peace.”’

I read a post the other day that a client said to his therapist “ he said he let some things slide that bother him to “keep the peace” and therapist response to him was “that sounds nice, but you’re only keeping the peace around you but what about the peace in you!” I said to say, walking in peace is will not always look good! 

We must realize that God has peace for us and what God has ordained cannot be denied, He has commanded His blessing of peace over our lives, mind, and heart! We have to walking in this peace so that when the disruptions come in our lives, we it want cause us to fall because we are rooted and grounded  

The word that is used to used to describe God is Shalom which means to be whole, save, sound, secure, complete, finished, and to prosper.  It other words when you are walking and living in the peace of God, nothing is missing, and nothing is broken,

This kind of peace can only happen when we are in a right relationship with God. Jesus desire for us was to live a life filled with peace, we are called peacemakers. It through faith that we have this peace, it does not come from any other source.

8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Psalm 29:11

The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

1 Chronicles 16:34 - “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

1 Corinthians 15:57- to give thanks for this one reason: Victory in Christ! 

Being thankful is essential in experiencing PEACE.  Once we realize that peace is a state of mind and thankfulness is about the condition of our hearts, our lives take on a whole new meaning. 

I know this time of year, we start to think about something or someone we have lost, but my prayer for you is to not go into this season with that mindset but to start and end your day being thankful for the God who loves us so much. We have been taught that being thankful is only about what we have, our circumstances or situations but, in all honesty, being thankful is about God and who He is because is the source of all we have and who we are.  

I love some Janet Jackson songs, but I think our mindset is just like one of her songs, “What Have You Done for Me Lately?" but God wants to know "What Have You Done for Him Lately?  Have you praised, obeyed,  prayed, given, loved, etc.? We think just because we are not enjoying the life we once had, that there is no reason for us to be thankful and experience peace.

According to 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT)- But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ

If we don’t think that we have no reason to be thankful and experience peace, I just want to remind you that Victory is yours, it is mine. We are saved, we are free, and we have eternal life. Are you grateful, are you ready to immerse yourself in the peace of God? I am singing Hallelujah because He is worthy of our praise, if you won’t praise Him for yourself, praise Him for who He is to me.

Remember my sisters and brothers, it takes GRACE TO MAKE IT!

INTRODUCTION: THIS MONTH WE WILL START SEASON SIX. THE PRINCE OF OUR PEACE- HIS PEACE, OUR PEACE! 

ISAIAH 53:5 –But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us PEACE was on Him and by His wounds, we are healed.

Before I get started with the message on want you to meditate and think about this scripture:

Luke 2:14- “Glory to God in highest heaven, and PEACE on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” 

 John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid (NLT) or in the NIV version (Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give peace to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.”) One of the greatest gift Jesus gave us when He was saved, was the gift of peace. 

Isaiah, it says that this PEACE came through His crucifixion. I want you to sit and let that saturate your minds and heart. It says that it was the piercing in His side, His humiliation, the lies, the betrayal, the denial, the rejection, the thrones on His head, the flogging on His body, the mocking, the nails in His hands and feet, His body buried in a buried tomb, and the hardest part of this was the separation from His Father for three long days. He took the PUNISHMENT for our transgressions, for our iniquities so we could have PEACE and be HEALED. 

Psalm 34:14 tells us what to do, it says “Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it”. This peace is not the absence of any kind of conflict, trials, and tribulations, it is the fact that no matter what storm is going on in your life. Y’all don’t you know that if we don’t have peace with God and with ourselves, we can have peace with others?

This peace this so powerful that it affects and overrules all our circumstances. We don’t have the power to create PEACE, you have to get it from JESUS. 

TRUE PEACE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF PAIN OR SORROW, IT’S THE PRESENCE OF GOD!

Philippians 4:6-7-6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the PEACE of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

2 Peter 1:2-4 (NEW LIFE VERSION) NLV says - 2 May you have more and more of His loving-favor and peace as you come to know God and our Lord Jesus Christ better.3 He gives us everything we need for life and for holy living. He gives it through His great power. As we come to  know Him better, we learn that He called us to share His own shining-greatness and perfect life. 4 Through His shining-greatness and perfect life, He has given us promises. These promises are of great worth and no amount of money can buy them. Through these promises you can have God’s own life in you now that you have gotten away from the sinful things of the world which came from wrong desires of the flesh.

INTRODUCTION: THE GREATEST MISSION STARTS AT HOME!

SCRIPTURE: 1 TIMOTHY 5:8

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Do you know what your legal responsibility is to them? Currently, 28 states have laws called filial responsibility laws, requiring adult children to support their aging parents. In addition, a bill passed in 2005 may place a heavier burden of taking care of parents' nursing home bills on adult children.

Filial responsibility is defined as the following statement:"... [laws that] impose a duty, usually upon adult children, for the support of their impoverished parents or other relatives." This law was enacted in various states after the Elizabethan Poor Law of 1601.

Proverbs 30:17

17 "The eye that mocks a father, that scorns obedience to a mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, and will be eaten by the vultures.

The elderly, needy, and disabled are often seen as burdens rather than blessings. Sometimes we are quick to forget the sacrifices our parents made for us when they are in need of care themselves. Instead of taking them into our homes—whenever that is safe and feasible—we put them in retirement communities or nursing homes, sometimes against their will. We may not value the wisdom they have acquired through living long lives, and we can discredit their advice as “outdated.”

 God intended from the beginning that the first level of responsibility beyond one’s self is one’s immediate family, and then one’s extended family, and then one’s church, then community, then state, and then the world. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for missing this point (Mt 15:5).

ROMANS 10:1, 14-15

1 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Paul said in Ch. 9:3 for I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race. We should be sorrowful, we should feel an enormous pain deep within our soul, and we should never be free of it because we know people whom we believe not to be saved. In other words, Paul is saying, if I could be cursed by Jesus so my people would be saved, I would do it without a doubt. Paul said I would lose my life if it means that my people would recognize Christ as the messiah.

There should be someone in our hearts that we have a burdened heart because we want to see them saved. Guess what, it’s our responsibility to pray to God on behalf of these people. 

Mat. Ch. 9 Jesus is speaking to his disciples about the fields are white but the labors are few. He said to ask the Lord of the harvest to send laborers, workers, and people who will work. 
We got to start moving our conversations with people to a spiritual place. Never think that people don’t want to hear that stuff, that’s the lie Satan, wants us to believe. Most people have a yearning for God but don’t know how to get there, that’s where we come in at. We have to engage people. We have to build a spiritual relationship with people. They’re our friends but want to see to it that they know Jesus as their Lord and savior. Who needs a friend who could care less about their soul? Amen!!! 

People need to be enticed by Christ. We have to stir people up to want what we have in Christ Jesus. We want them to be jealous of what we have in Christ. Our life should lead people to Christ. 

We are the salt of the earth right? We are valuable, do yall know that Roman soldiers got paid salt for their salary. Amen!!! But if you have lost your saltiness, then you’re good for nothing. I’m mighty afraid that there are a lot of Christians who have been diluted. You’ve heard the phrase, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink. I tell you what put a block of salt in his feeding troth, you want to have a problem with him going to drink. We are the salt of the earth; our lifestyle for Christ should make people thirsty for Christ. But once they drink His water they will never thirst again. Ain't that what Jesus told the woman at the well?

Matthew 25:31-46

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 

32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 

33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 

35 For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick, and you looked after me, I was in prison, and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 

39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 

42 For I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink, 

43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

As God's children, He expects us to help everyone around us, especially the poor ones, because in our Lord's eyes we may be rich or poor, but we are all equal. Jesus expects us to be humble and generous to everyone, even to people who mistreated us, hated us, or hurt us.

 Most of heard that Jesus coming back many times and even if He does not come back in our lifetime, He really is coming back. I thought at first it was kind of strange when I noticed the verses were up under the subtitle “Final Judgement” but I soon remembered that this is all part of the Great Commission and the call for us to share the GOOD NEWS, not just we lip service, but with our hands, feet, money, heart, and mind.

Acts 20:17-38:

17 But when we landed at Miletus, he sent a message to the elders of the church at Ephesus, asking them to come and meet him. 18 When they arrived he declared, “You know that from the day I set foot in the province of Asia until now 19 I have done the Lord’s work humbly and with many tears. I have endured the trials that came to me from the plots of the Jews. 20 I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes. 21 I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike—the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus. 22 “And now I am bound by the Spirit[a] to go to Jerusalem. I don’t know what awaits me, 23 except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead. 24 But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. 25 “And now I know that none of you to whom I have preached the Kingdom will ever see me again. 26 I declare today that I have been faithful. If anyone suffers eternal death, it’s not my fault,[b] 27 for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know. 28 “So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood[c]—over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.  29 I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. 30 Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following. 31 Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you—my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you. 32 “And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself. 33 “I have never coveted anyone’s silver or gold or fine clothes. 34 You know that these hands of mine have worked to supply my own needs and even the needs of those who were with me. 35 And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” 36 When he had finished speaking, he knelt and prayed with them. 37 They all cried as they embraced and kissed him goodbye. 38 They were sad most of all because he had said that they would never see him again. Then they escorted him down to the ship.

 The two greatest needs in the world today are for souls to be saved and Christians to be revived!

INTRODUCTION: OUR FAITH IN ACTION/ RESURRECTION HOPE

 MATTHEW 28:5-7

5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 

6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 

7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

THE POWER OF JESUS RESURRECTION DOES SO MUCH FOR US:
Jesus arose from the dead and everything changed. Despair turned into hope and fear was replaced with joy. The painful sting of sin and death was crushed and defeated. The victory was won by Jesus and today we celebrate because we know the victory is ours!

Death was defeated by life. It was the beginning of the extinction of ALL evil. The future age of immortality was ushered back into this age of decay. We were set free in Christ from all bondages. The resurrection assures our forgiveness! The resurrection guarantees our transformation!  The resurrection secures eternal life.

THANK GOD FOR THE EMPTY GRAVE!!!

BECAUSE HE LIVES
God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus.  He came to love, heal, and forgive.                                          He lived and died, to buy my pardon,  an empty grave, is there to prove, my Saviour lives.               Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives

How sweet to hold, a newborn baby
 and feel the pride and the joy he gives
 Oh but greater still, the calm assurance
 we can face, uncertain days, because He lives

And then one day, I'll cross that river

INTRODUCTION: THE POWER OF TRUE WORSHIP! 

John 4:21-24-  21 Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews.  23 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.  24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Worshipers who worship in spirit and in truth will illustrate this new type of worship. Listen to this y'all, Jesus said, not me, but Jesus said, that God is seeking a worshiper, one who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. This is what’s important to God, God doesn’t care about how big your church is, where it’s located, what style of music is played, or (oh yeah) what color of the carpet is, or what the choir is wearing! God doesn’t care about that stuff. 

Greek word for worship is sebó (seh-bow) which means Revere/ruh-veer or Adore, Spirit is pneuma means wind or breath, and the truth is translated as alétheia    (a-lay-thee-ah). English words (truth, true, surely)

Ain’t you glad that the God of this universe is seeking us to worship Him? He is not satisfied with the millions/zillions or even the duo-tri-gin-trillion (10 to the 99th power) of angels who worship Him, He wants us to worship Him, believers. There is something in our worship that angels just don’t have. We can give worship because of the salvation we have in Christ Jesus, Amen y'all. Angels can’t do that.  We, who have been saved by His grace, bought by His blood.

Spiritual worship is more than emotional worship. Worship is not about how it makes YOU feel. The measure of spiritual worship is NOT how it touches your emotions. I’m not suggesting that we should never manifest emotions in worship, no, we just need to be cautious that we don’t mistake an emotional experience for a spiritual experience, that’s all I’m saying. A person can respond emotionally to what they see God do in someone else’s life, but it never touches them spiritually.   A spiritual response brings about a change.

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:
 Psalm 95:6-Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Hebrews13:15-16-  15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

2 Timothy 1:6-14- 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. 8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,  9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher [a]of the Gentiles. 12, For this reason, I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He can keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. 13 Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 14 That good thing, which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

My question is what will it take to get you stirred up?

Leviticus 6:12-13-12 The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it. 13 The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out. The is a supernatural fire {Consuming fire that comes from Heaven and then there is a natural fire { things we have to do to keep the fire burning} 

Acts 4:31-33- 31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. 32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all

The song or sermon may not get finished. If the Spirit is moving, someone is being delivered, healed, set free, a change is happening. Let the Spirit Interrupt your program, your life, your plans.
 
When you ACTIVATE, you can activate others! This Spirit is Contagious!

I WISH SOMEBODY SOUL WOULD CATCH ON FIRE AND BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST!

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:         

Galatians 6:8- Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Romans 12:11- Never let the fire in your heart go out. Keep it alive. Serve the Lord.

Remember my sisters and brothers, it takes GRACE TO MAKE IT!

Acts 1:8 -But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

God has important work for us to do for Him, but we must do it by the power of the Holy Spirit and the purpose of the Spirit is to strengthen us. His two main gifts are knowledge and power. But the only way he gives us knowledge is through the Bible.

Matthew 28:19-20- 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,  baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” But they were told to wait first to receive the Holy Spirit. 

Luke 24:49- I am going to send you what my Father has promised but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”  

1 Peter 1:20-21- “No prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (1 Peter 1:20-21). 

Our spiritual walk involves the Word of God and the Spirit of God on the inside of us and without them both, there is no POWER! Let’s be like the Wonder Twins, and activate the POWER!

If you want to live a life of POWER in this Christian walk, you have to know the POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD!

We have all of Christ by the POWER of the Holy Spirit. We cannot be defeated, and we will win because we are more than conquerors. 

IT IS DYNAMITE. DUNAMIS- the Greek word for POWER!

IT CAUSES IMPLOSIONS (a force on the inside) and EXPLOSIONS (a shock wave/outside force)!

The Holy Spirit is working in and through us and it is His POWER alone that keeps us and transforms us into the women and men that God desires for us to be. 

This POWER sets us free and it allows us to be a witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Love of God!

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY: 

EPHESIANS 3:16-21- 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.

2 PETER 1:3- 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

INTRODUCTION: TRANSFORMATIONAL LIVING: PRESENCE/PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

2 Corinthians 3:17- 

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20-

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 

20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

The Holy Spirit is called the Paraclete in the original Greek, which literally means “one called alongside to help.” He is here for us, and He wants to do amazing work in our lives (John 14:16–18). He wants to seal, guide, empower, and fill us.  He is our company keeper, cloud covering, and our consuming fire. He is our counselor and truth bearer.  

Old Testament testifies of the Holy Spirit

Genesis 1 -Spirit of God first mentioned. The Holy Spirit was present at the creation of the world, and he’s the power that’s working in every born-again believer right now!!! 

Genesis 2- God breathed His Spirit into us and it gave us life/a living soul. God loves you that He is willing to put Himself on the inside of you. That's some powerful shouting and running for Jesus kind of stuff.

David wanted to build the Temple but because his hands were unclean, God allowed his son Solomon to build it and it was built with the best of the best of everything because it was God’s home on earth.

When you invite someone over to the house, you do some extra cleaning because you want that person to feel welcomed, relaxed, and at home. Well, I’m afraid that’s how we treat the Spirit of God, we only worry about our living holy and talking holy when certain people are around and when we need God, but God desires our lives and heart to be pure and clean because He dwells there all the time. He will never leave us but when we are not walking in the Spirit of God, we grieve Him and our lives are not as effective as they can be. 

God’s Holy Spirit is in you and His Standard of Living is HOLINESS!

Y'all, Jesus shed blood is too priceless and precious and it is only because of His sacrifice that the Holy Spirit is able to dwell in us. This is serious stuff and I am  so afraid that we don’t ponder enough on who is on the inside of us and how we should be living our lives

 Read Chapters of 2 Chronicles 5-7: The Temple Prayer, a prayer we need should be praying because we are temples of GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT!

HEBREWS 2:4- 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders, and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

John 16:7-8-7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.

Dispensation of the Holy Spirit – to do distinctive work in the lives of Christians,
It was prophesized by Joel 2:28-32-And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

It was fulfilled the Day of Pentecost Acts 2:4,  50 days after the descension of Jesus into heaven but the apostles waited for with anticipation of the promised Help.
Hebrews 6:18-   18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us

Matthew 3:16 Jesus did not start the mission until after the baptism and when the Spirit of God settled on Him. If Jesus waited for help, we need to wait for our help! If Jesus said, it is best for us that he goes away, then it must be because there is something valuable about what the Holy Spirit was coming to do. 

Ezekiel 36:25-27-   25 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations. God promises to put His Holy Spirit on the inside of us.

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY: 

1 John 2:20, 27- 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. 27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

1 John 3:24- 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

1 John 4:4- 4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

John 14:15- “If you love me, keep my command!”

We are now under grace - and if we love Jesus like we claim we do, then we’ll keep His commandments. If our love for God is not real, your love for others won't be either!

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Jesus knew the cross was drawing close. After washing his disciple’s feet. Jesus talked of leaving them… going away to a place where they could not follow Him, and then came the shocking realization of His forthcoming death. It was at this time of intense sorrow and deep, deep passion that the disciples heard their Good Shepherd say: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, so love you one another.

Obedience is our best way to show that we believe, partial obedience is disobedience and there are consequences. In the Bible, obedience is the flip side of love; it’s the expression of love. In several places, Jesus says, “If you love me you will obey what I command.” Our attempts to impress God with giving, volunteering, etc.—ways to try to earn salvation—are acts of disobedience. 

To obey God is not some difficult duty placed on us. It’s just the overflow of our gratitude for all that the Lord has done for us.  Jesus said “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” John 14:21

The relationship between love and obedience is easy to see here. If we truly love God, we will seek to know and keep His commands. If we are not keeping His commands, we cannot honestly claim to love Him.  Actions speak louder than words. When we obey God, we prove that we love Him. Our disobedience is saying that we know what is better for us than God.

For unbelievers, there is the decision to obey by accepting Jesus as the Lord and Savior, this is our first decision to show God our willingness to obey. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”. “This is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son, Jesus Christ”

 SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY: 

1 Samuel 15:22-23-22 But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”

John 15:10-11- 10 “If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

Matthew 5:43-48

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’  44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,  45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.  46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?  47 And if you greet only your people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?  48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

As human beings, we will have enemies. These people are definitely against your happiness and progress. They want you to fail, and they try at any opportunity to hurt you. When you are successful, they are miserable and jealous of you. The scriptures are very clear; God wants us to love everyone. That includes your family members, friends, strangers, and enemies. What matters is faithful obedience from the heart. 

God requires us to do this and we should want to do it because we are loved by God and we love God. Col 1:21. We all were once alienated from God and were enemies in our minds because of our evil behavior.

Loving our enemies doesn’t mean allowing them to continue to hurt us. Loving Your Enemies Empowers You,  show that Jesus is the Lord of your life, you do what God wants you to do, and put you on your knees more often in prayer. Often enemies start as friends, and something goes wrong in the relationship, such as marriages, friends, coworkers, family members, neighbors, and other Christians.. Some describe an enemy as a "bad friend". Your enemies are here to make you more like Christ 

“We cannot pray in love and live in hate and still think we are worshipping God”. -A.W. Tozer

On November 17, 1957, Martin Luther King Jr. preached a sermon on loving our enemies, and here are some things he mentioned in the sermon:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." 

a person “to discover the element of good in his enemy, and every time you begin to hate that person and think of hating that person, realize that there is some good there

“hate for hate only intensifies the existence of hate and evil in the universe. . . . The strong person is the person who can cut off the chain of hate, the chain of evil. . . . and inject within the very structure of the universe that strong and powerful element of love.” 

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY: 

Proverbs 24:17-18- “Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall; don’t be happy when they stumble.  For the Lord will be displeased with you and will turn his anger away from them”!

Proverbs 25:21-22- “If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. 22 You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you”.

Romans 12:14- “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them”.

INTRODUCTION: THE SACRIFICE OF LOVE: OUR LOVE FOR OTHERS MAKES A DIFFERENCE

 John 15:13- “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”.

1 Peter 4:8- “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sin”.

 know we have heard so many sermons on love, we listen to love songs, we experience things in life that make us think this is love. Most of us however have learned the wrong way of loving and believing what is love. According to Matthew 22:37-39, the second greatest commandment given by Jesus was to love our neighbor as myself. Of all the qualities that we could be working on as Christians, the most significant one Jesus wanted us to work on was LOVE and there is no gray area when it comes to us loving one another and without the Holy Spirit, we cannot fulfill this commandment.

Romans 13:8- “Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law”.

 Rom. 13:10- "Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law".

The presence of LOVE in the church and Christians are starting to look like the stores we shop at, scarce and empty. People are looking for the “love of God” through us, but they are having a hard time distinguishing it from the “love of the world.
 
Matthew 24:12- "Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold".

Love Cost and Love Adds Values to Others

Y'all this has become a pandemic in our homes, many of our young children have never experienced the unconditional love of a father or mother and they grow up not being able to give love. It is time for us to do better.

We wonder why the murders are being committed by children too young to understand the consequences of their choices. We see how the drug dealers are selling drugs to the mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. We see this when children are sold to sex trades. We see this when so many children have been prescribed antidepressant medications before the age of 18.  We see this with police brutality, school shootings, robberies committed in the middle of the day.  Can you all see why our love for one another makes a difference? 

In "Strength to Love", Martin Luther King, Jr. tells us to take responsibility to find out the purpose of this commandment to love and to seek to live it out graciously every day.

Our goal in this Christian life is to give and show love. This is a sign of a mature Christian when others see our love for God and our love for others. Don't miss out on what being a Christian is all about. It's all about the LOVE!

1 John 3:11- “For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another”.

JOHN 15:12- “That you love one another, as I have loved you”

John 13:34–35- “A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you have love one to another”.

1 John 4:11- “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another”.

Romans 5:8- “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.    

This is one of the most powerful and life-changing scriptures you could ever read, believe, and accept. I am afraid that there are so many people who find this difficult to accept or refuse to accept. The fact that we are such sinful creations and that there is a loving and forgiving God who tells us every day that He loves us. Some people are trying to compare God’s love to human love, it never fails and it is everlasting.

Sisters and brothers, one of the things we have to realize are that Satan is doing everything in his power to stop us from believing that God could love us. He throws up our past and he tells us that we are not worthy but remember the last part of the verse, He loves us while we were yet sinners.   

Another reason we make not believe that God can love us in the way we can never be loved by a human being is how people have treated us. Stop comparing God to your parents, spouse, bosses, pastors, Christians, family, and friends because they are just like you an imperfect being, a human touched by the varnish of sin. Today I want you to stop trying to substitute the love of God and the God of love. You will never find anyone or anything that will satisfy you the way you can. 

Another reason we have yet to allow God’s love to engulf us is because of the pain, grief, heartache, or brokenness we have experienced in our life. You may have been abused, betrayed, abandoned, or have gone through something so difficult and wondered how God could love you and allow you to go through this. I know some of us feel like when bad things happen to us, especially when we were children, God could not have loved us because if He did, He would have done something about it. Just think about this for a moment. 

Stop letting church folks keep you from God’s love, stop letting things keep you from God’s love, stop letting sin keep you from God’s love, and stop letting whatever it is keep you from His love. This year is a year of NO MORE. You have to start seeking God and the things of God for yourself. Your momma, grand momma, or the pastor might tell you every week that God loves you but until you experience for yourself, you can’t move forward. 

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY: 

1 John 4:8-10- “8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins”.

1John 4:18-19- “18 Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 19 We love each other[a] because he loved us first”.

Remember my sisters and brothers, it takes GRACE TO MAKE IT!

Job 14:14 {NLT}- “Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death”.

According to Biblical scholars, this is the oldest book and the oldest question in the world and it is still a question that is asked by so many every day.  It is the reason that so many of us have received the gift of salvation because we believed the words of Jesus that He offers us eternal life but if you don’t accept Him it will be eternal death.  Either way, we are either to live in eternal rest or eternal unrest.

Job is a man full of faith that is under a test ordained by God and doubted by three of his closes friends. They have accused him of some hidden sins in life and each time he responds to them with words of affirmation of trusting God no matter what was happening in and around him.   In spite of what he didn’t know, he did have the blessed hope of living this life to live again. How many of us have this mentality that in spite of what you lose {family, friends, possessions, health, you are willing to wait until your change comes! 

This life is more fulfilled when you have the mindset that there is something better on the other side of us dying.  Even though there was not much talk about resurrection in the Old Testament, there are several times that heaven is mentioned. These saints knew that the end of life on this earth, so they had hope of living again. 

You will have a new body, a mansion, a crown, a white robe, an unnumbered number of brothers and sisters awaiting you.  Our attitudes, actions, and the way we worship change.  When all of God’s children get together, What a time, what a time!

We can’t keep living our lives in vain, we can’t continue to take our breathing for granted, we can no longer believe that time is on our side. The rest of the day is not promised to us, we can be here today and gone today.  

Your soul is so important to God that He has done everything that could possibly be done to get you into heaven, but He won’t force you, it is a free gift, it a choice we personally must make. He is standing at the door urgently knocking and knocking. Do you hear Him, will you let Him in right now? 

Job affirmed his belief in living to live again when in Job 19:25-26 {NLT}- “But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. 26 And after my body has decayed, yet in my body, I will see God

So, my sisters and brothers let us do as Paul encouraged us to do in Thessalonians 4:1 to live a life that is pleasing to God!

JOHN 11:25- Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.

Romans 8:38-39-38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Remember my sisters and brothers, it takes GRACE TO MAKE IT!

Deuteronomy 30:19 {NET}- Today I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set life and death, blessing and curse, before you. Therefore, choose life so that you and your descendants may live!

The word invoke means to petition for help or support. To make an earnest request or to make mention of a person

Chapter 30 deals with the blessings and curses of God, making life and death choices

It deals with God circumcising our hearts so that we may Love Him with all our heart and soul so we can live

We have to love God, walk in His ways, keep His commandments, listen to His voice, hold fast to Him because He is our life. This is a serious matter life or death!

Heaven was silent 

1.     When sin invaded the earth

2.     For 400 years 

3.     When Jesus died

4.     It will be silent again when sinners stand before  

So now is not the time for heaven to be silent, heaven wants to hear from you!

We have too many examples of heaven being invoked from the patriots of the Old and New Testaments. We can invoke heaven with our prayers, with a war cry, with praises, pleas, and with our faith.

Heaven has invoked me to send out the call to invite you to want to make heaven your home, to go to a place of no more. I have dared you to invoke the blessings,  promises,  and healings of heaven. To receive its love, joy, peace, and protection.

I have to preach heaven to remind you that the best is yet to come, and that trouble won’t last always and that when the burden of life is weighing us down, we can be assured that through our suffering, sickness,  and sorrows that being in a relationship with Christ helps us to endure until the end. 

I am preaching heaven because of the joy we will experience, no more weariness and I have to tell your that all our wounds and heartache will be healed, no more tears

Dwight L. Moody said, “A little faith will bring your soul to heaven, but a lot of faith will bring heaven to your soul".

Psalm 102:17- He will listen to the prayers of the destitute. He will not reject their pleas.

Psalm 66:17-20-But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. 20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

John 3:3,5- 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.  5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 

John 14:6- Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Jesus always had heaven on His mind, and this is why He was able to do the things He did, go thru the things He had to go through and be able to share with us why we should have heaven on our minds.  His first sermon was the Sermon on the Mount,   [“Beatitudes”} in Matthew 5:1-11 introduces us to the possibility of heaven, and then in verses 13—48, He describes us as being the salt of the earth and the light of the world, He reminds us of how we should be living, loving, and treating each other because our focus has been changed and heaven is on our minds.

Chapter 7 tells us shows the wrong mindset when we judge one another, He reminds us again of the asking, seeking, and knowing on heaven’s door, He tells us about the wide gate and broad road that leads to destruction, yet many walk this path, but the small gate and narrow road that leads to life, only a few will ever find it.  He warns us about the difference between the false and true prophets and who are true and false disciplines (churchgoers). He tells us the power of being a wise builder and not being foolish builders.

Chapter 8 He starts on His mission. Now if this is not teaching us to be heavenly-minded so we can be so earthly good, I don’t know what else to tell you, my sisters and brothers.  Can you see the big picture yet?

God is talking but have we been listening? Jesus' requirements are very simple, repent, be born again, and believe in me. His words are with authority, authenticity, and assurance. His words of being born again are about our spiritual birth with the help of the Holy Spirit. He is not talking about rules and religion, He is talking about a personal relationship with a changed heart and mind.

When you say that you are Christian, you are saying you have been born again, you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is about a change that will take place on the inside and show up on the outside. It is not something that you can do on your own, you need the Holy Spirit, and the only way to receive the Spirit is to be born again. JESUS IS  THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN AND HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE YOUR SOUL! HE IS OUR GREATEST EXAMPLE OF BEING HEAVENLY-MINDED TO TO SOME EARTHLY GOOD!

1 Peter 1:23- “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.”

Titus 3:5- “he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.”

Remember my sisters and brothers, it takes GRACE TO MAKE IT!

Genesis 1:1- “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

Revelation 21:1- “Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.”

There is a life beyond the grave. God started at the beginning of time making preparations to make sure that we will have a place that souls have an eternal rest from our labor down here and his preparing us to enter in.

Life is a journey, we are not just going in circles or to a dead end, but our journey is going to be with our Father and Jesus in heaven.

We prepare for everything else in this life but are we preparing to leave this earth.  Are we taking the same effort and time to prepare for life after death?  There is an important decision you must make, you have the power of life and death in your mouth.  Heaven is real and so is Hell!

The assurance of what is ahead of us helps us to do some earthly good, share the good news, and keep the faith! There are eternal rewards in being a child of God and a believer in Christ Jesus.

What's on your mind?
Colossians 3:1-2- 1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Longing for my Heaven home!
2 Corinthians 5:1-8- 1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 6Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

1 Peter 1:3-5- 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

MATTHEW 14:22-33

22 Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. 23 After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. 24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o’clock in the morning[a] Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.  26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” 27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” 28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” 29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.  30 But when he saw the strong[c] wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” 32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.  33 Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed."

In 2022, God is going to take us on a journey like never before…get ready, get ready, get ready. But don’t worry, don’t be afraid, don’t fear, because Jesus has prayed for you. 

God Will Only Lead You, As Far As Your Faith Will Take You! God is not asking us to do what we can, He is asking us to trust in Him to do through us what we can’t do.
Peter displayed REAL FAITH- He Believed, Asked, and he Obeyed. The result was that Jesus gave Peter the ability to walk on water.

Some things in life will frighten us, but those are the times we have to walk in faith and not by sight. Don't allow the problems of this world to distract us from the source of our power and please be careful to not become so busy that we walk away from the purpose Christ has for our lives.

If you haven’t seen God working miracles in your life lately it could be because you haven't asked Him, obeyed Him, or believed Him!

Hebrews 11:6-And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Job 42:2- “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” 

Matthew 17:20-“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

LUKE 1:26-38

26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,  27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.  28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.  30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.  32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,  33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” 34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” 35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[a] the Son of God.  36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month.  37 For no word from God will ever fail.” 38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.”
We as Christians must understand that God’s favor does not automatically bring instant success in our lives. Even the mother of Jesus Christ would soon have much pain in her life. Her friends would ridicule her, her fiancé would come close to leaving her, her son would be rejected, and murdered. But her commitment to doing what God called her to do would make her honored by many because Jesus would be the only one to bring hope to the world. Mary’s submission to God’s plan to bring salvation to the world has placed her in a place of honor. So no matter how God wants to use us, we must say yes, and accept the task as what it is. We have to say what Mary said, o am the Lords servant, and may it be to me as He have said. Amen!!!
Divine favor is never random, it is intentional. God’s favor in your life is for a purpose. When God favors you, it’s not for you to brag upon or sit on it, but has a use for it. God has endowed this favor on you so you can be a blessing to others!

LEVITICUS 26:9-12-  “‘I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. 10 You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. 11 I will put my dwelling place[a] among you, and I will not abhor you. 12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.

NUMBERS 6:25-26-May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. 26 May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.

JEREMIAH 1:6-9

6 “O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!” 7 The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8 And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” 9 Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said, “Look, I have put my words in your mouth.”
He is known as the “weeping prophet” crying about the disobedience of God’s people, idolatry, the greed of the priests, and false prophets. His name means “appointed by God”! He is a man who was able to endure some cruel punishment for speaking the truth, words given to him directly by God. 
Jeremiah said that the word of the Lord came to him. Saying, before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Amen! Long before we were thought about it, God was making plans for our lives. When we feel discouraged or inadequate, we have to remember that God has a purpose for our lives. Jeremiah was appointed by God, and if you are a Christian you are too.  To be appointed means to be put in an office in order to function fully and accomplish a task. It also means to be “put in charge” it means to be assigned, designated or selected, for a specific task. We as Christians have a specific task to accomplish and that task is to do whatever God has commanded you to do.
Jeremiah 1:17-18- God tells Jeremiah “Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them! He told him “Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar, and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land against the kings of Judah, its officials, the priests, and the people of the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you. Declares the Lord.
Most of us struggle with challenges, because we lack self-confidence, feel that we’re inadequate, don’t have the ability, the training, or even experience to be successful at what God has told us to do. We don’t know what we are capable of, Bible God does. Haven’t y'all heard the phrase, given to right circumstances, we’re capable of doing anything. That’s normally a negative exhortation. In the same sense, with God, you have the ability to do anything. Don’t y'all know that all things are possible when God is involved? We should not allow the feeling of inadequacy to keep us from obeying God’s command. If God gives you a task, know that He has already provided all you need to accomplish it. God has touched you in a special way, He has enabled you to do things unbelievable to man, so he can get all the glory.
 
SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:

Jeremiah 20:11- But the Lord stands beside me like a great warrior. Before Him, my persecutors will stumble. They cannot defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten.”

Deuteronomy 18:18- “I will raise up a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell the people everything I command him.”

Esther 4:10-16

10 Then she instructed him to say to Mordecai, 11 “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king.” 12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

There are great lessons we can gain from Esther, one is that she understood the power of waiting with integrity and knowing there is a time to be quiet and a time to speak up.

God is still in control and His plan will come to pass even if Esther doesn’t do her part. We have to understand, God is always in control, and our disobedience won’t change God’s faithfulness and plan for our lives. God is sovereign!

An important factor of a community of believers is mutual support in difficult times. When we are experiencing struggles in our life, we should turn to fellow Christians for support by sharing our trials with them and gaining strength from the bond that unites us. 

Even though Esther was the queen and shared some of the king’s power, she still needed God’s protection and wisdom to save her people. (James 5:16) “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” No one is secure in his or her own strength. It’s foolish to even think that wealth or your position can make you invulnerable to dangerous trials in your life. Deliverance only comes from God, and Esther knew that if they were going to survive, then they needed God to move in this situation.

When we are facing a difficult or dangerous situation, we must have the faith to move forward. Like Esther, we have to count the cost…not only was her life on the line, but her people’s lives were on the line. Sometimes God uses us for the benefit of others. Esther believed that the safety of the people was more important than her own life. In the midst of adversity, sometimes we need to make ourselves seen.

JEREMIAH 29:11-12/NLT- 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen.

 LAMENTATIONS 3:37-38/NLT-37 Who can command things to happen without the Lord’s permission? 38 Does not the Most High send both calamity and good?

Remember my sisters and brothers, it takes GRACE TO MAKE IT!

Exodus 14:13-16

13 But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14 The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! 16 Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.

God does not always work in the way that seems best to us. Instead of guiding the Israelites along the direct route from Egypt to the Promised Land, He took them by a longer route to avoid fighting the Philistines. If God does not lead you along the shortest path to reach your goal, don’t complain or resist. Follow Him willingly and trust Him to lead you safely around unseen obstacles. God can see the end of your journey from the beginning, and He knows the safest and best route. 

There are times in our lives according to Robert Morgan when we “HAVE TO LEAVE ROOM FOR GOD”! We have to make up in our minds before we get to our Red Sea moments to trust God. Yes, we face so many things in our lives to cause us to be fearful, but guess what, God has shown us time and time again that He can be trusted through all of them.  

God’s instructions to Moses: stop praying and start doing. God said, why do you cry out to me?  Before the people, Moses was full of faith; but before God, he cried out in desperate prayer. This was good in a way because Moses had to show confidence before the Israelites to encourage their faith, but God is saying, there is a time to pray, and a time to act. It can actually be against God’s will to stop doing and to only pray in a particular situation. It’s time for action, Moses could pray on the way. “There is a time for praying, but there is also a time to move in faith. (We walk by faith and not by sight). Prayer is adapted for almost every season, yet not prayer alone, for there comes, every now and then, a time when even prayer must take a secondary place. There is something more to be done than to pray. We must not only ask for God’s help, but sometimes we got move forward, to make way for God’s help. God said, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the waters so y'all can cross on dry land. Obedience is always better than sacrifice.

Just like the word said, God is fighting this battle for you, Keep Calm! Stop crying, stop, complaining, let go of the anxiety and make that move. You will never know what is on the other side of that fear until you come out of by faith. Are you starting to realize that God is trying to get you to use your faith as a part of His plan to deliver someone out a situation that is not like anything they have ever seen?  

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:

PSALM 37:7-8- 7 Be still in the presence of the LORD and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. 8 Stop being angry!  Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. 

DEUTERONOMY 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

INTRODUCTION: SERIES: FEAR IS NOT A FACTOR, BUT FAITH IS! DON’T LET FEAR GET IN THE WAY OF THE PROMISES! 

GENESIS 50:19-20

19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 

20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

We as Christian should be able to see the overruling hand of God in our lives to know that no matter what evil man brings against us, God can use it for good.

Romans 8:28 and we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Sadly, for many of us, Christians don’t believe it.  Amen 

Ultimately, our lives are not in the hands of men, but in the hands of God, who overrules all things for His glory. 

Joseph came into the world already favored, He was favored by his earthly father Jacob and his Heavenly Father. He also was hated because of that favor. God uses both of them for His Glory and our good. 

God is intentional in allowing these situations to come into our lives. He uses everything, everyone, and anything to get us to the place He has promised us. Joseph was 17 when God started telling him of his greatness through dreams and he was 30 when those dreams were fulfilled. We know that during those 13 years there was nothing easy about Joseph’s life.

Let me assure you, there is value in the hard places in our life. For the last 3 episodes of “Fear is not a Factor, but Faith is”, we have talked about how God has been intentional in taking us from fear to faith. Whenever we come up against something we have never faced, we must have the assurance that God is about to do something mightily in our life. 

I know things may be looking bad right now, some of you may be in some type of physical, mental, or spiritual pit or prison but it is not the time to quit or become fearful, it is your time to trust God. I don’t know about y’all, but God's track record with me has been one I can depend on. Even when I messed up, God was still faithful to me.

How are you looking at the situation you are in right now? Can you see God in the middle of it or is your fear not allowing your faith to see God?  Are you being faithful in the situations you are in or have you thrown in the towel?  THERE IS NO SITUATION IN YOUR LIFE PRESENT NO FUTURE THAT GOD CAN'T HANDLE!

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:
Psalm 50:15- “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” 

Psalm 145:13b- “The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does.”

INTRODUCTION: SERIES: FEAR IS NOT A FACTOR, BUT FAITH IS! GOD WILL GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO FACE ANY FEAR!

SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 32:7-12

7 In great fear and distress Jacob divided the people who were with him into two groups, and the flocks and herds and camels as well.  8 He thought, “If Esau comes and attacks one group, the group[c] that is left may escape.” 9 Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, Lord, you who said to me, ‘Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’  10 I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps.  11 Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I am afraid he will come and attack me, and also the mothers with their children. 12 But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.”

The term “amends” is not used much these days, but when this concept is put into practice, it helps victims forgive the people that hurt them. Offenders can move on from guilt, shame, and self-blame. Amends also increases the possibility of reconciliation. The book When Sorry Isn't Enough by Gary Chapman states that all of us make mistakes that we regret. Being sorry, however, is not enough to restore relationships. We may need to offer amends in some cases. 

While on his way running from Esau n Genesis 28:15, while Jacob was sleeping God told him that “He was with him and that he would watch over him wherever he went, and that he would bring him back to the land his was leaving. He promised him that he would not leave him until he had done what He had promised him. Yes, even when we are afraid, even when we are the cause of our fears, God is always with us. It does not stop Him from blessing and keeping us. 

Life has a way of bringing up the things its life we have feared the most, the things we try to run away from. Some of us move so far away from our past hoping it will just disappear forever. One of the things that I have learned in this life is - NO ONE on this earth has the power to condemn me and they have no heaven or hell to put me in. God has forgiven me and I forgive myself!

Shakespeare was right when he wrote, “Conscience does make cowards of us all” (Hamlet, Act 3 Scene 1). As Jacob had no strength before Esau because of guilt, so many Christians today are also hindered by their past. 

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:
Psalm 27:1- “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall, I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

Romans 8:31- “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

INTRODUCTION: SERIES: FEAR IS NOT A FACTOR, BUT FAITH IS! TRUST GOD AS YOU WALK INTO THE UNKNOWN!

SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 12:1-4

1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people, and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you and I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.  3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” 4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

Many of us know Abraham as being the “Father of Faith” but he did not always show this as God was taking him to the place he had prepared for him. Y’all God does not care how old or young we are when He calls us, He has prepared us for our faith journey and we must have a willing heart to obey obediently and a trustful mind to believe. Our faith in God is about us taking a daily walk with Him. 

When God called him, Abraham moves out in faith, from his country his people, and his father’s house and went to a land that God said he was going to show him. Sometimes we just have to go and see what the end gonna be. When God tells us to do something, like Abraham, the only job we have in the matter is to obey.  Sometimes God’s will for our lives may come in stages. Abraham was told to go from Ur to Canaan. God may give us transition periods and times of waiting to help us depend on Him and trust his timing. If we patiently do God’s will during our transition period, we will be better prepared to serve him as we should when he calls us.

We have to ask ourselves can God call me his own? Do I obey and trust God to do with me as He please? Look at this, God moved Abraham from a godless, self-centered city to the fertile region of Canaan, (a land flowing with milk and honey, where a God-centered, moral nation could be established. God is looking for progression in our spiritual walk. A lot of times we get stagnant, those are the times when God has to give us a nudge.  Just because we run into an obstacle while doing God’s will, it doesn't negate our responsibility to obey Him. 

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

1 John 4:16-18

16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

18 Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

INTRODUCTION: SERIES: FEAR IS NOT A FACTOR, BUT FAITH IS! WHERE DOES FEAR COME FROM?

SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 3:9-10

9 “And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?”10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked: and I hid myself.”

As I begin to ask God about what our next series mission, He led me to talk about the power that fear can enslave us. Shortly after praying and seeking God, I myself went through some days where fear was trying to creep into my heart and my mind. I started thinking having fears of my marriage ending, fears about my ankle surgery next week, and fears about me becoming a Christian counselor. I start imaging some crazy scenarios in my head and they seemed so real in my head at the time but thinks to my praying husband and children and my prayer partner and friend, these fears were overcome. 

Just saying the word FEAR can cause our emotions to stir up, we think about be scared of animals, certain places, people, dying, living, flying, drowning, can’t pay your bills, getting old, getting sick, being alone. I can go on and on and the list would just continue to pile and pile 

Fear according to Merriam Dictionary means to have an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger, it can be an anxious concern, or a reason for alarm.

There is  a normal fear, we were born with the flight- fight instinct, it is a part of us, it is a survival instinct given to us by God. This is the biochemical reaction. the problem occurs when our thoughts of the fears has crippled our minds that we don’t trust God to get us through them. These fears are real to the person and there are times when seeking medical treatment is necessary. 

Listen brothers and sisters God knows all about the things that has happened in our lives and triggers that produces these fears, but He wants to help us by healing us from the power they have over and in our lives. We must seek out and pray about where these fears are coming from. We must investigate our fears in order to overcome them. If we don’t know the roots of our fears, we can’t pray about it and seek deliverance from them. AMEN!!!!

During this series we will walk out of FEAR into FAITH. We are not going to rush through this. We are all in this together. God is faithful to take us from where we are to where He wants us to be. We must be willing to trust that He is ordering our footsteps. 

SCRIPTURES TO LIVE BY:

Philippians 4:6-8

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:34

34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

These afflictions can be many troubles, hardships, perplexing circumstances, adversities, evils, and ills. 

We all have gone through so much in the last couple of years. Losing so many loved ones, worship services, and church family, our health, our homes, jobs, social life, etc. I could go on and on but you understand where I coming from. It seems like with face suffering, grief, heartache, and pain will never end. This scripture can be one that disheartens your spirit because it tells us that our afflictions are many but I want to assure you that God promises us that He would deliver us out of them out. 

1 Peter 3-6- reminds us that we have been given a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ

We may never know the reasons behind these trials and tribulations but we do know that God has our undivided attention when they come and God will use all of them to develop our faith and our character in becoming more like Jesus

The most righteous person to walk the earth endured a great deal of affliction in 3 1/2 years. Christ endured severe pain, he cried, he was betrayed, beaten, mocked, and tortured and He died on the cross as an innocent man to make a way for us to escape the deathly consequences of sin in this world and the eternal separation from the Heavenly Father.

Although both the righteous and the wicked have troubles, the outcome of their circumstances is different because of their different relationships with the Lord,”

9 Raise the war cry, you nations, and be shattered! Listen, all you distant lands. Prepare for battle, and be shattered!    Prepare for battle, and be shattered! 10Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand,  for God is with us.11 This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people: 12 “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. 13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread. 14 He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.  And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

It’s time for Christians to RISE UP and take a stand against sin.  

God has sent out a WAR CRY and it is loud and clear. It is time for the church (you and me) time for us to go into battle for the lost and unloved souls. God has called you out of the dugout of life. You have used up all your excuses, there is a new ending and you are next in line to be used by God, it’s time for you to bring some folks on home to God. Stop listening to the fans in the stands (you know, the haters, those who are envious and jealous of you, those who refuse to listen and obey, the back catcher (Satan). I know he is all up in your ear and you feel the heat of his breath but trust the Empire, until He calls you OUT, you must keep on going!

(Gen 12:1) Abraham - Go from your country and your people and go to a land 8 will show you…the Bible said that he went as the Lord had told him. 

(Exodus 5:1) Moses - Go to Pharaoh and tell him to let my people go…are you like Moses coming up with all kinds of excuses as to why you can’t go.

Hosea 1:2 - or maybe you’re like Hosea, when God told him to go and marry a harlot or in today’s vernacular, a prostitute. The Bible said that Hosea went, and married Gomer as the Lord had commanded him. 

Jonah - maybe you’re like Jonah, who ran in the opposite direction when God told him to go preach to the Ninevites. We know the story…God gets His way. (Jonah 2:2) Amen!!!

Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of Heaven. The one who would enter must do the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Mat. 7:21-27)

When you are living an obedient life, it is a form of worship and it glories God.  When we obey God, it shows our respect and adoration for Him. It draws us closer to God and our relationship deepens. Obedience is an important part of the Christian life; it is part of testimony as a believer. Jesus says in John 14:15 if you love me, you will obey me. 

Psalm 119:1-2 tells us that we are:

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
     who walk according to the law of the Lord.
 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
     and seek him with all their heart—

1 PETER 4:10 -Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

This single verse reminds us of some important truths. First, it reminds us that all believers are gifted. You may think you have nothing to offer, but the truth of the matter is, if you believe in Jesus Christ then God has supernaturally gifted you to serve Him. Secondly, it reminds us that our gifts are not given to us for our own benefit. God gave us gifts, talents, abilities, and experiences for the benefit of other people, to be used to serve them. Jesus has called us to serve one another. 

Besides giving us the gift of salvation, God has given us some of the greatest gifts known to man. He has invested so much time in giving each one of us our own uniqueness in how we use our gifts. I know you probably heard of you losing your gift but why would God go through so much trouble of giving you something He takes away so quickly. The Word tells us that the Holy Spirit gives the gifts as He desires, not based on what we do or don't do. . 

The Spirit gives a message of wisdom, He gives faith, He gives the gift of healing, and He gives the gifts of prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, speaking in tongues, and the gift to interpret tongues. No matter what gift a person have, it is given to us by the Holy Spirit. And He’s the one who decides which gift to give each believer. We are responsible to use and sharpen our gifts, but we are to take no credit for what God has freely given us. (1 Cor. 12:4-10)

2 Titus 4:14 warns us not to neglect our gifts. Don’t get disheartened if you are not using your gifts, it’s not too late. We can longer use excuses of not be talented to do the work but it’s a supernatural power that helps us do the work.. Our gifts are our weapons to fight with, our tools to build with and our effectiveness in the body of Christ gives God glory. Are you ready to use what you got and show the world what you working with?

John Wesley’s motto was “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, by all the ways you can, in all the places you can, and at all the times you can, to all the people you ca, as long as you can.” 

Paul said that, we have been given these spiritual gifts to equip God’s people for work of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up! (Eph. 4:12) Now that we have these gifts, it is crucial that we use them. If we know what our gifts are, we should be looking, searching for opportunities to use them. We must know, whatever gift God has given us, 

There are thousands of Christians who reached a level of maturity in their Christian faith and then became self-satisfied and complacent. They decided they didn’t need to grow anymore, or pray anymore, or study anymore. And they started dying spiritually because they buried their talents. And you are like servants who are responsible for using God’s gifts. 

 Peter says  be: “as good stewards”. A “steward” is someone who takes what someone has given them and uses it in a way the giver intended. What we has is not ours; it belongs to the person who has given it to us, and we are responsible to that person for what we do with what has been entrusted to us.

INTRODUCTION- SERIES: NOW WHAT? MAKE AND FOLLOW THE PLAN!

HABAKKUK 2:2-3

2 Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.  3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;  it speaks of the end
 and will not prove false.  Though it linger, wait for it,  it will certainly come.

Habakkuk had some complaints that he wanted answered: How long must I call on you for help, but you act like you don’t hear me. Why do you make me look at injustice, why do you tolerate wrong? Why, Why, Why. Don’t that sound like some of us in the church? Why this, why that, why me Lord, but God is saying “ye of little faith” set back and watch me work. God tells Habakkuk to look and watch, and be amazed at what I’m about to do. We don’t know what God is doing, we don’t understand half of the stuff God does, but we just got to trust Him. Amen!!!

The Book of Habakkuk has 3 chapters that are full of questions, complaints, answers, a prayer, faith, and rejoicing. This man is heartbroken over the violence, injustice, and corruption.

Habakkuk said, but Lord your eyes are too pure to look on evil, you cannot tolerate wrong. Why do you tolerate these treacherous people? 

Habakkuk said ok Lord, I will stand in my watch tower. Habakkuk wanted to be in the best position to hear from God. Waiting and watching for God to answer us is important, but look at what God says:  “Write the vision, and make it plain, upon tables this “refers to the common practice of writing public notices with large characters on the clay tablets that when someone running by could easily read them. That he may run that read it.” If the notice was a warning it would also cause the reader to run quickly to prepare for what was coming.

God is instructing Habakkuk to put the revelation down clearly so that someone in the future can take it and deliver it into the right hands, those who need to hear it. So if you’re that one that needs to hear this, if you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and savior, you need to run quickly, the end is near. Amen!!!

STANDING, STATIONED, LOOKING, LISTENING! So often  we miss what God has to say.  He wants us to ponder over what we have spoken to Him, make sure that we have said all we want to say so that when He speaks, He has our full attention. 

God is reminding Habakkuk that what goes out of His mouth will come to pass fulfilled its purpose. God is not a man that He should lie. (Numbers 23:19) If God says something, it will be done, and done the way and in the time that He says it will be done. This book should inspire every person who has a vision of work God has for them.

A plan is a detailed proposal for doing or achieving something, we are preparing for the future. S. W. O. T. (STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, OPPORTUNITIES, THREATS).
 
God has given the plan/vision to you first. You must see and know it before you give it out. Then you can share it (make it plain). In other words make it so clear that anyone can understand and impacted from reading it. There is no time for exegesis/hermeneutics, the people need it plain, simple, and to the point.

INTRODUCTION- SERIES: NOW WHAT? GET TO WORK!

MATTHEW 28:19-20

19 Therefore GO and MAKE disciples of all nations, BAPTIZING them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 and TEACHING them to obey everything I have COMMANDED you. And surely I am WITH YOU always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus has given us our "marching orders". There are two things we should remember about this. First, these words are a command. That is why we call it the Great Commission and not the Great Suggestion. Jesus did not say, "Look, if you are in the mood, if it works into your busy schedule, as a personal favor to me, would you consider going into the world and making disciples?" No. this is a command.  (James 4:17) says, “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

The 10/40 Window is a term devised by a Christian missionary strategist named Luis Bush. This 10/40 Window refers to those regions of the eastern hemisphere, the European and African part of the western hemisphere, that’s located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator. These areas have been found to have the highest level of socioeconomic challenges, and the least access to the gospel message on the planet. These areas have great poverty and a low quality of life, combined with lack of access to Christian resources. Roughly two-thirds (5 billion 196 million) of the world’s population lived in the 10/40 Window. What does that mean, out of the 7.795 billion people in the world, 5.196 billion are in this 10/40 Window. These areas are predominantly Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, animist, Jewish, or atheist. Many governments in the 10/40 Window are officially or unofficially opposed to Christian work of any kind within their borders. 57 countries are involved in this 10/40 Window. 

As Hudson Taylor said, “the Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed.” If we are to be Jesus’ disciples, we must go and preach the only message of salvation: “that Christ died for our sins that He was buried and was raised on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). 41.8% of the world’s population have little or no exposure to the gospel. 97% of these people live in the10/40 Window regions. Amen!!!

(Hebrews 13:15) says, "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name." 

The terms sacrifice and praise might seem to be opposites. We think of sacrifice as offering something at a great cost to ourselves. Praise, on the other hand, sounds joyful as it bubbles from a grateful heart. 

 To praise God in this way is a command! This sacrifice is to be offered "continually." Our praise to God is not to be based on our opinion, God does not get an annual evaluation, and we don’t rate God on His job performance. Our praise cannot be treated like a "reward" we give God for blessing us. (Isaiah 29:13) says, "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.” In other words, some people claim to be close to God, but they are not following God, just going through the motions. The bible says God will bring judgment on these people. Religion has become routine instead of real. Jesus said in Matthew, that Isaiah was right, and He called the religious leaders Hypocrites. (Matthew 15:7) 

 Real praise continues regardless of our circumstances. It flows continually from a worshiping heart in good times and bad. I’m reminded of a story in Acts when Paul and Silas were going to the place of prayer, and this slave girl, who had a spirit by which she could predict the future, mind you that this girl earned her owners a lot of money by doing this. Anyway, this girl was following Paul and Silas shouting “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you how to be saved.” The bible says that she kept this up for many days, finally, Paul got tired of it, so the bible says that Paul said commanded the spirit to come out of the girl. When the owners found out what had happened, they seized Paul and Silas, drugged them into the marketplace to face the magistrates. They accused them of causing an uproar by advocating customs unlawful for the Roman people to accept or practice, so the magistrates ordered them to be stripped, severely flogged, and thrown in prison, where a jailer was ordered to watch them. So the jailer put them in the inner cell and shackled their feet. The bible says it was about midnight when Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. Suddenly an earthquake came that shook the foundation of the prison, at once, all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.   

(Acts 16:23-25) A "sacrifice of praise" only comes from a pure attitude and a humble heart that has been purified by fire. Like Paul and Silas, we must choose to honor God despite our pain, despite our situation. Even after being stripped and beaten, not just beaten, but flogged. Do y’all know what that means? They were not just beaten severely, but to flog someone, you are criticizing them to the lowest state of their being, and guess what, they still gave God the praise due Him. Amen!!!

INTRODUCTION- SERIES: GETTING TO THE NEXT LEVEL: IT’S TIME TO LET GO OF THE GUILT!

Rom 8: 33-39

33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long;  we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul said there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!

We are innocent until proven guilty. Jesus is our defense attorney, and has won our case, the court has acquitted us, but in our minds, we are still criminals. Because of the brand that we still carry around. Amen!!! Think about this, if we are one with Jesus and He is our head, we cannot be condemned. You can’t acquit the head and condemn the hand. You can’t drown the foot as long as the head is out of the water!!!   

If Christ gave his life for us, He is not going to turn around and condemn us. So why do we hold on to our guilt? Jesus said “Ye who is without sin cast the first stone, they all left. Jesus asked “Where are they? Has no one condemned you?” she said no, and Jesus said neither do I condemn you”.  (John 7:53-8:11) We got to stop condemning ourselves. There is no condemnation because we share the righteousness of God, and the law cannot condemn us! There is no obligation because we have the Spirit of God Who enables us to overcome the flesh and live for God. There is no frustration because we share the glory of God, the blessed hope of Christ’s return. There is no separation because we experience the love of God (v.35). Christ Has Declared You Righteous? (Vv.34)

That is right only Jesus can talk the stain of Guilt off us. We can’t do like Pilate when he tried to wash his hands from the guilt of crucifying Christ.  Please do not be like Judas and take your life. I can tell you that you can never do anything that Christ will not forgive, there may be consequences you have to live with but you can believe that God will fully restore your joy and peace. Just like the woman caught in the very act of adultery, Jesus has spoken and declared you not guilty, others can’t condemn you, He won’t condemn you, but don’t do it again. Praise the Lord, hallelujah. 

We are more than conquerors through him who loves us. No matter what circumstances, none of our sufferings can separate us from the love of God. Paul lets us know that it is impossible to be separated from God’s love. Jesus is our super-conqueror, and His love will protect us from all evil.

MATTHEW 3:13-17 

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.

To help us understand what it takes to be a Godly father, let’s go down to the Jordan River, and hang out at Jesus’ baptism. There is much debate, about who was there when Jesus was baptized, but this much we do know, the one person who showed up at the baptism was His Father?  

 The 1st thing you have to do to be a Godly father : You have to show up. You got to make your presence known. You got to be there when it involves your child, being a Godly father means you always show up. God showed up, and God had something to say.  Can I go deep right there? For the last 400 years before this God has been silent. The last public declaration came through the prophet Malachi 400 years before the birth of Jesus.  For 400 years God didn’t have nothing to say.  For 400 years God had no word for Israel. For 400 years God didn’t speak through another prophet. For 400 years God had no message for his children. 

But all of a sudden, after 400 years God shows up at the Jordan River and says: “I Got Something To Say" I had to ask God, why show up now, the answer should’ve been obvious, God said, “this is my son.” Something happens when a dad shows up. Because I’ll tell them something mama won’t, I’ll talk to them in a way that mama can’t. Amen!!!  

A Godly father will tell his children that he loves them. Not only does God show up, but He also says “I love you”. Something phenomenal happens when dads tell their children “I love you”. Dad doesn’t tell yourself, you’re too much of a man to tell your children, that you love them. I think God for the fact that every time my girls get off the phone with me, they know to say “I love you”, because we never end a conversation without affirming the love we have for each other.  

A Godly father will tell his children that he’s proud of them. Not only does God show up and say I love you, but He says to Jesus I’m proud of you. In Matt. 3, Mk. 1, and Lk. 3, Jesus ain’t done nothing yet. He hadn’t worked no miracles, He hadn’t raised no dead, no blinded eyes have been open, no walking on water, no turning water into wine, no feeding 5,000, Jesus ain’t done nothing, and yet God says “I’m proud of you”. Why? Dads I need y'all to catch this, God says because my pride is not attached to what you do. That deep right there. My pride is connected to who you are. God says this because He knows that every child needs to know that their father is proud of them. It motivates, it inspires the child, when they know that dad is proud of them.. Amen!!!

Remember my sisters and brothers, it takes GRACE TO MAKE IT!

In this chapter, Paul starts out challenging the Galatian people to walk in the truths he had been preaching and teaching them. Jesus Christ died to set us free from the bondage of sin. Jesus did not die for us to just be able to ask God for forgiveness and keep on doing what we want to do or keep living as a slave to our sinful nature. No! Our freedom is a gift from God, which we receive through our faith in Jesus. We have been made free to serve God in the way we were created to serve Him. Some Christians think that they can still do, say, or live the way they used to. But here Paul encourages us to stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again in the yoke of sin. We are to walk in God’s strength, to help us live a life pleasing to God. Amen!!!

I ( Dwayne) preached a sermon one time titled “I’m Free”, and in my study for that sermon, I run across a story that spoke of a man, who was born in slavery. He is raised as a slave, trained up as a slave. All he knows is slavery, and one day this slave is sold at the auction. He is bought by a kind man, who immediately gives him papers declaring him to be a free man. Can’t you see this slave, rejoicing because he is free? He runs through the crowd waving his papers in the air, shouting, “free at last, free at free last, thank God almighty I’m free at last.” The man who sold him at the auction sees all this and starts to leave, and immediately the former slave falls in behind him. The former owner looks around and says to the man, “man you are free! Go and enjoy your freedom. You do not have to work for me anymore. The slave answered and said, “I know these papers say I’m free, but all I know is how to be a slave. Amen!!! 

We must live by the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit means that we are open and sensitive to the influence of the Holy Spirit. We have to pattern our life after this influence. In other words, when the Holy Spirit indwells us, He wants full control of our lives. If we are walking in the Spirit, there is no way we can fulfill the lust of the flesh. The Holy Spirit does not indwell us to gratify our sinful nature, NO, He teaches us all things and reminds us of everything Jesus has said. (John 14:26) He guides us into all truths. (John 16:13) He helps us to love, he helps us to be kind, & gentle to our brothers and sisters, He helps us to be patient with people, He helps us to be faithful, and He helps us to have self-control, when we want to curse folks out. Amen!!!

EPHESIANS 4:30-32

30 AND DO NOT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, WITH WHOM YOU WERE SEALED FOR THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.  31 GET RID OF ALL BITTERNESS, RAGE, AND ANGER, BRAWLING AND SLANDER, ALONG WITH EVERY FORM OF MALICE.  32 BE KIND AND COMPASSIONATE TO ONE ANOTHER, FORGIVING EACH OTHER, JUST AS IN CHRIST GOD FORGAVE YOU.

VS 30
When we think of grieving, we think of sadness, sorrow, pain, or heartache. If the Holy Spirit were a feeling or an experience, he could not be grieved. It is because He is a Person of the Trinity that loves us and cares deeply about how we act and live.

Do you want to know what grief looks and feels like? You are in an internal conflict, there is tension, restlessness, a tug of war, turmoil. There is unhappiness, depression, joyless, heaviness, fear, anxiety, no inner peace. You are cold, with no empathy, sympathy, or love. I could go on it but I think you are beginning to understand where I am going. 

VS 31

We cannot act like the world act. We must have a new attitude; our minds have to think about the things of God. Paul told the Ephesians that the old way of life must be completely wiped away, it is in the past. We were created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. All this bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander must be left in the past once we become a new creature in Christ Jesus. (Eph. 4:23-24)

When we as Christians allow lying or unhealthy language, bitterness, anger, and bad attitudes to run our lives, we grieve the Holy Spirit. Instead of acting that way, we should be forgiving, just as God has forgiven us. We belong to God, so we should act like it. Respecting one another, building one another up, not tearing each other down. Christians that are unwilling to forgive, have not become one with Christ. 

We have to let the past stay in the past. (Heb. 10:17) Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more. In other words, God remembers our sin no more. Isaiah said that God blots out our transgressions, for His own sake, and remembers our sins no more. God doesn’t throw stuff back in our face 20, 30, 40 years later. (Isa. 43:25) When God forgives He forgets!!! Amen!!!

VS 32

Unforgiveness is when we are unwilling or unable to forgive someone for hurting us, betraying us, breaking our trust, or causing us intense emotional pain. Forgiveness ain’t easy MOST of the time, but we must do it. Unforgiveness is a dangerous thing! 

When we do not forgive, we are asking for sickness to come into our bodies. Unforgiveness has side effects, bitterness can make you sick, hatred can make you sick, we get high blood pressure, ulcers, headaches, and other different afflictions. If we do not watch it unforgiveness will kill us physically and spiritually.  

When Jesus was teaching his disciples about prayer; part of the Lord’s Prayer is asking God to forgive us as WE forgive those who have trespassed against us. (Matt 6:12) 

It suggests that being forgiven and forgiving others are closely tied together in our Christian walk. Jesus is proclaiming that it is just as important for us to forgive others as it is for God to forgive us.

Introduction: WHO ARE YOU TO GOD? A MASTER DESIGN WITH A MASTER’S PLAN!

EPHESIANS 2:10

10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV)

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (NLT)

A masterpiece is precious -extremely valuable to the Artist. John 3:16 is the clear evidence of this.

ROMANS 5:8 says, “But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

As a Sinner, we are His Masterpiece and as a Saint, we are His Masterpiece.  Some of us needed a whole lot of help to get to this point in our lives.

Here is where God says we are his workmanship (work of art, masterpiece). 

Workmanship-We are fearfully/wonderfully made. Fearfully in Hebrew means made with great reverence, heart-felt interest, and with respect. Wonderfully- Hebrew unique/set apart. (PS 139:14)

2 Corinthians 5:2 says “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the very righteousness of God.  Now tell me if that’s not Masterpiece then I do not know what is. We are Master Designs with a Master's Plan.

The word Masterpiece means work done with extraordinary skill, do we understand the skillfulness of God. God is all-powerful, He can speak and nothing becomes everything. We are God’s design, no one can clone you, no one can replicate you, no one can emulate you, and I know they try, but no one can genetically copy you. We are God’s masterpiece. 

A masterpiece is described as a work that is given much critical thoughts when it is considered the greatest work of a person's career. As children of God aren't we constantly being talked about, criticized, & ostracized. Can I say I am a Master Design with a Master's Plan?

“Created in Christ Jesus for good works.” The workmanship, the work of art, the masterpiece that God has been showing off in us was created in Christ Jesus. God has united us with Christ through His death, burial, and resurrection, and gave us eternal life through Him. 

This means our strength does not come through our willpower, but through Christ in us. 
As Christ lives in us, He wants to continue doing good works as He did on earth. Christ told his disciples that they would do greater works than He had done. Meaning carrying the gospel message to the utmost parts of the world. (Jn. 14:12) God has important work for each of His children to do, but it must be accomplished through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!

1But now, this is what the Lord says—   he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel:
 “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers,  they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze,  3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. 4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. 5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.
V.1) But look how Isaiah starts this Ch. He says but now! God has created us, God has formed us in His own image. Why? To have a personal relationship with us. Do yall know what that means? We have the ability to know God, to love Him, worship Him, and serve Him, and fellowship with Him. He did not create us because He needed us. No! He wants our fellowship. The bible tells us that Adam walked with God in the cool of the day. Fellowship/Relationship!
V.2) When trouble comes! When overwhelming situations come! Know trials are coming, but the good news is God will be with us. He will give us peace, joy, and comfort in those situations. He will protect us, those trials/tribulations won’t take us out. They won’t consume us. Look at it, God said: even when we walk through the fire, it won’t burn us. No matter what we face, God is there and He will protect us. (Hebrew Boys)…
V.3) Because of who He is/what we mean to Him. God said I am The Holy One, your SaviorGod allowed 3 nations, not I but 3 nations, to be defeated by Persia as a (ransom) for the Jews to be returned to their homeland. These were no poor nations, they were rich in gold, silver, jewels, and all types of treasures. Israel was just that valuable to God.
V.4) Because God has chosen us, here He says we are precious to Him, and He has made us honorable by the favors that He has placed on our lives. We must realize that God’s favor for us is not based on anything we’ve done, but because of His will. The bible tells us that God is slow in keeping his promises, He’s patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but wanting everyone to come to repentance. (2 Pt 3:9) God loves us so that He delays Jesus’ 2nd coming in hope that others will turn from their wicked ways and come to know Him. Know that because God has chosen you, He will do whatever it takes to protect us. He will make our enemies our footstool. Amen!
V.5) Isaiah was talking about Israel’s return home from Babylon. Paul tells us "that one day if we hold on to the blood-stained banned, we will be caught up together to meet Jesus in the air." (1Thes. 4:16-17) The song says “Won’t it be grand, grand, grand, won’t it be grand, grand, grand, I’m going home to live with Jesus, won’t it be grand, and won’t it be grand.” Saints of old used to say: “When our work down here is done when we stick our swords in the golden sands of time, we should look for a home somewhere around God’s throne.”

SERIES: WHO ARE YOU TO GOD? DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE?

When I was a teenager, I was not thinking about the typical things that most teenagers are thinking about who they wanted to be when they grow up. I was praying for God to help me be a good mother and a good wife, that prayer later changed to a Godly mother & Godly wife because there is a difference. Most of us are not thinking about who we are to God so we grow up trying to be someone to our families, friends, and world but never being able to reach or achieve the standards they have set before us.

VS 1- DO YOU REALIZE THAT YOUR SELF-WORTH IS BASED ON THE FACT THAT GOD LOVES YOU AND CALLS YOU HIS CHILD?

YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE WHAT THIS VERSE IS SAYING TO YOU or you will continue to deal with feelings of inferiority, insecurity, inadequacy. You will continue to think you good enough, you do not know enough, and your thoughts of disappointment to God, to others, and yourself will continue to keep you in a feeling of unworthiness and that is a lie from the pits of hell. DON’T DEVALUE YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU ARE A WORTHY CAUSE! 

You have to stop seeing yourself through your wrong choices, your failures, your past, rejections because of  God’s Great Love for you!

John 3:16 -YOU HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN AND LOVED

Lavished- smothered, showered, loaded.

Genesis 2:7-Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being.

Genesis 1:27-So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them male and female, he created them.

The fact that you have the breath of God in you and the fact that He took the time to create you in His own image should make you jump up and shout Halleluiah, Thank You, Jesus, Praise the Lord!!!

John 1:12: "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." God's children are those who both receive Jesus as Lord and believe in His name as the risen Messiah. Say it out loud, I am a child of God, I belong to God, He knows my NAME!

VS 2 WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT THE WORD SAYS ABOUT YOU AND WHO YOU ARE, YOU CAN SPEAK IT OUT WITH BOLDNESS AND DECLARE WITH POWER:

God you said I am chosen, I am dearly loved, I am a saint, I am free, a conqueror, an overcomer, a mighty man of valor, a child of the most high God, I am saved, I am healed, I am delivered. I am not condemned. 

You have to be convinced that God has loved you with an everlasting love! Jer 31.:3

That nothing can separate You from His love! Romans 35-39

That you were loved even when you were a sinner! Romans 5:8

Because of His great love for you, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions, it is by grace you have been saved! Eph 2:4

SERIES: WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME!

THIS WEEK’S EPISODE: Introduction: UNFINISHED BUSINESS/TRUST THE PROCESS! 
Philippians 1:6-7, 9-11

6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

How confident are you in what God is doing or trying to do in your life?  Can you stand the trials like Joseph and said in Genesis 50:20- “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives?

Job-13:15a- “though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.

Peter/ John- Acts 4:18-20- “which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to Him. You be the judges” As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen or heard.

Jeremiah1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations!’

Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This type of confidence that God has in us should give us great comfort according to Matthew Henry. The fact that God has chosen me and you to join Him to share His Good News (one of the greatest promises ever given to us).

Will you join the team, you never have to leave this position, it gets better with time, He has already equipped you, you have a lifetime of blessings here on earth that will follow you to heaven, pay is great, your labor is not in vain, your fruit will last as long as you stay connected to the vine.

I know many of us have had some battles that seem to never end, we overcome one battle just to end of in another one. Guess what that means God wants to show you just how great you are and what kind of power you have. He has created you for excellence and you cannot get there without overcoming the struggles He purposely set before you. He wants the best out of you because there are some people out there that need what you have on the inside of you.

The work has just begun. I know you did not think that He touched you, gave you His mercy and grace, set you up to win, gave you success, and then changed your mind just for the sake of it.  GOD HAS SOME UNFINISHED BUSINESS WITH YOU, JUST TRUST THE PROCESS! 

Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Phil 2:13-14- “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing.

THIS WEEK’S EPISODE: Introduction: Free Your Mind & Get Your Head In The Game!

Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.

You have a will but will you continue to allow it to get in the will of God and Paul is pleading with us that we had to live and think a certain way as Christians.

If you want to be pleasing to God, start recognizing quickly what He wants from you and respond quickly to it.

Pleasing-acceptable- (Gen 4:3-5/Abel accepted/Cain rejected)

Proper-reasonable Worship- (Amos 5; 21-23- God talks about hating Israel festivals, religious assemblies, offerings, or praise (worshipping in spirit and truth (John 4:24) when we continue to go through the routine of worship but we are living a life that is not pleasing to God.

Offer/Dedicate-(Judges 13:4-5 Samson was dedicated to God to deliver Israelites from the Philistines) & Judges 16:20 Samson disobedience caused the Lord to depart from Him)

Living Sacrifice- God cannot use anything dead. This our everyday life of eating, sleeping, going to work, whatever you do.

Free Your Mind

Conform do not become so well adjusted that you fit into your culture without it you are thinking about it or being bothered by it.

Acceptable-accepting what God does for and through you is the best thing you can do for Him.

Those who refused to change their way of thinking.

1. Felix

2. Judas tried to give the money back to the Pharisees but it was too late and he chose suicide over forgiveness

3. Lot’s Wife- wanted her old life/ turned into a pillar of salt

Lessons To Reflect On From This Week’s Episode: 

Worship is our Life. 

1. 1 Corinthians  2:6 We all have the mind of Christ 

 2. Phil 4:8 Think on Praiseworthy things

3. Psalm 1:2 Mediate on it day and night

4. Col 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on things on the earth

 5. Proverbs 23:7 for as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

My challenge to you this week is to think on: What behavior/s are you working on and what action are you willing to put the old self off and what action will you take to allow the Holy Spirit to make you more like Jesus? Free Your Mind!

We have to realize that every Christian has the mind of Christ but we don’t always choose to engage it.

2 Corinthians10:3-5-gives us some very bold and empowering words on how to Free our mind and get our head in the game/fight. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

THIS WEEK’S EPISODE: Introduction: Success Comes With A Cost!

JOSHUA 1:7-8- 7 “Be strong and very courageous. {4 times] Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Joshua was one of only 2 of the spies that believed that they could possess the promised land, this is why God chose him and giving him a blessing of invincibility during his lifetime. He listened to God & Moses, he was willing to risk it all for God and he was never afraid to act on what God called him to do. You know you, somebody when God named one of the books of the Bible after you.

Some first ingredients of being a successful believer are found in part of vs 7 {strong, courageous, and obedience]

1.    It is when turning right or left, following our plans, our thoughts, our desires, things began to fall apart:

Moses- (Num 20:11-12). He allowed the stubbornness and hard hearts of Israelites to keep him from entering the promised land, God told Moses to speak to the rock, He struck it.  

Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-10)- Half Obedience is not even good enough, they wanted people to think they gave all the possessions to the poor, but the Holy Spirit revealed to Peter what they had done.

Israelites- worshipping other gods, marrying foreign women, not killing their enemies.

1.    Memorizing the Scriptures, going to church, listening to gospel music is not enough, it must be obeyed, it has to be trusted, and it has to be always on in your mind/heart. We cannot do with it like we are taking a test, keep the information in our head long enough to pass the test, or like going to an interview, researching a business to find out what it's all about to impress until you get the job. It connects you to the very heart of God. It is your protection [spiritual armor, it lets us know when we are getting off track, it is life]. If the Word used the Word to fight the schemes of the devil, so must we. 

Success Comes with a Cost:

1.    God is only going to give us success if we are willing to follow His master plan and not our desires. 

2. God does not give passes for disobedience

3. Purposely Pursue God, A Blessed Life Is Not Automatic!”

Experiencing God, Discerning the Voice of God, When Godly People Do Ungodly Things.

PROVERBS 16:3- Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish the plans.

Lessons To Reflect On From This Week’s Episode: 

Our success in this world is not determined by the world standards but it is based on the Word of God and you will never succeed until you trust Him!

Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. He gives us our desires because our desires line up with what He desires.

Letting go your will is not easy, it is familiar, traditional, all you have ever known but just like Jesus, we have to deny ourselves, pick up our crosses and follow Him and while we are going, saying in our heads and out loud “not my will but thy will be done. It cost Jesus His life, what will it cost you?

SERIES: WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Well, I want to share for the next four weeks with you about benefits of trusting and obeying our Heavenly Father. I want you to be so overcome with His presence and power that you will no longer ask what is in it for you but what how can I give back to God from whom all our blessings flow! It will increase your faith, help you to walk in obedience, and let go of the weight and sins that has kept you entangled and away for the presence and blessings of God.
When I was meditating on this word, an old song came to me. “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now”, I know every one of you all have heard this song because we play at every family reunion. So many of us have allowed life curb balls to keep us from the promises of God, we have given up, and accepted what life has thrown at us. Today is a new day, get up, get on the move, and get back into the grove. God has given up on you, so do not give up on yourself!

Listen to me, I need you to take all God's word this is in your head and put in your heart. It is only then will you believe, trust, and put practice what you know about the God we serve. He is a GOOD, GOOD FATHER and He loves you more than you can ever grasp. YOU HAVE BEEN SET UP TO WIN!

We quick to say that Heaven is a place for “prepared people”, but so is earth, because knew that we would not be able to fight through the hell we go through on earth without preparing us.  God did not save us and tell us to go and figure out how to make it on this earth all alone. He has prepared the way for us, He has empowered us with His Holy Spirit, He has equipped us with gifts, knowledge, and wisdom, He has given us victory, and He has promised to never leave or forsake us. He has entrusted us to receive these blessings so we can share with others the gift of salvation.  I am saying it a second time, YOU HAVE BEEN SET UP TO WIN!

God did this to make sure that would be able to overcome anything that comes our way to try to kill, steal, or destroy us and keep us from doing the work we were created to do. I’m going to say it one more time, GOD HAS SET YOU UP TO WIN!

This may be hard to grasp or or understand if you have never been through anything in your life that has caused you to call out to the Lord for help, for strength, for peace, for His presence, or His protection but just keep on living, it will come a time your life when you go through something that only God can handle and only He can get you through.

You tried everyone and everything but tell me where has it gotten? I am begging, pleading with you to give God a chance, begin to trust Him, and trusting what His Word has declared about you, I can guarantee He will show you all of what is in it for you!

3. Isaiah angel touched his tongue with hot coals willing to do the work of God (Isa 6:6-8)

4. Jacob hip socket touched when he wrestled with God, he was seeking a blessing (Gen 32:24-28)

5. Jeremiah said God touched his mouth (Jeremiah 1:19)

6. Paul blindness on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:3)

7. Elijah touched twice after running from Jezebel (1 Kings 19: 5, 7)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU: 

1 Chronicles 16:11- Look to the Lord and His strength, seek His face always

WE ALL NEED THE MERCY AND GRACE OF GOD EVERYDAY!   

We need God’s mercy because we need forgiveness and so we can forgive others. It is touches us in ways that is underserved, unexpected, but very much needed.

God gave us grace- its free, its unmerited favor of God that was demonstrated in the salvation of sinners and the hand over a lifetime of blessings. Everyday God extends His unconditional (agape) love to us it ways that should may us praise and honor him.
