Some players, like Larry Nance Jr., C.J. McCollum and Zion Williamson will be extension eligible with the Pelicans soon. Garrick and Raphael Rattler are back with another episode of Pels Pod where they discuss who they think will get an extension, and who won't, as well as what they think David Griffin's negotiations with Zion Williamson will be like.

The New Orleans Pelicans' 2021-2022 season came to a close with a 115-109 loss to the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 of their first round playoff series. Raphael & Garrick Rattler are back to break down how the series ended, as well as what they expect to see from the Pelicans throughout the offseason and moving forward into next season.

Chris Paul had another fantastic 4th quarter in Game 3, scoring 19 points in the final stanza to put the Pels away, but the Pelicans had an answer for him in Game 4 in the form of Herb Jones and Jose Alvarado. Jones finished the contest with 13 points and three big blocked shots, while Alvarado scored 5 points and had 2 steals while showcasing his trademark energy.

The Pelicans now find themselves in a best-of-three series, and they'll have to steal another road win to put the team with the league's best record away. Raphael & Garrick Rattler return to talk about where they see this series going and what the Pelicans need to do to win it.

The Pelicans made a statement that they would not be a pushover with their Game 2 victory over the Phoenix Suns. The Pelicans defeated the Suns 125-114, and even though the Suns lost Devin Booker to a hamstring injury during the contest, the Pels needed to make clutch plays in the second half and Brandon Ingram provided them, finishing the game with 37 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists.

The Pels lost Game 1 in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs 110-99 Sunday night in Phoenix. The Suns had the early advantage, leading 53-34 halftime and holding the Pelicans to just 11 of 49 shooting (22%)in the first half.

However, the Pelicans did make a run in the third quarter, but Chris Paul scored 19 of his 30 points in the 4th quarter to close the Pelicans out in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series. Raphael & Garrick Rattler are back to break down Game 1 and talk about what they're looking to see in Game 2 Tuesday night.

With wins over the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers, the New Orleans Pelicans secured the 8th seed in the Western Conference and won the conference's play-in tournament.

The Pels didn't have their most successful week on the court, going 2-2. But those losses didn't matter because the Pelicans had already secured the 9th seed in the play-in tournament, allowing them to host the San Antonio Spurs Wednesday night for a chance to advance.

With a Pelicans win over the Kings or a Lakers loss to the Suns tonight, the Pelicans will clinch a spot in the play-in tournament. Before we get to THAT GAME, we want to thank everyone who watches and listens to Pels Pod. We started the podcast around a year ago and we've had a blast a long the way. There's been ups and downs with the Pels, as usual, but it's been a great ride since we've been able to begin cultivating this community with you all.

That being said, last night the Pels came back from a 23-point deficit to defeat LeBron James and the Lakers at the Smoothie King Center and strengthen their grip on the 9th seed. We got Pelicans color commentator Antonio Daniels and @ImpatientBull himself, Chris Conner, here to talk about it.

In a season full of peaks and valleys, the Pels are hitting another peak at the perfect time of the season. The Pels have won two of their last three games...on the road...without Brandon Ingram. Guys like Trey Murphy and Naji Marshall have stepped up without guys like Ingram and Devonte Graham due to injury and the Pels have risen to the 9th playoff spot. Raph & Garrick Rattler are back again to talk about the (playoff-bound?) Pels.

The Pels continue to do Pels things. Losers of two straight entering the All-Star break, the Pels came out of the break white hot, winning four straight games, three in blowout fashion. However, this would inevitably take a turn as Brandon Ingram would miss the last four games with a hamstring injury, only to be followed by C.J. McCollum entering the NBA's health and safety protocol and missing the last two games. The Pels did manage to break their losing streak without B.I. & C.J. against the Rockets last night.

The Pels came out of the All-Star Break red hot, winning four straight with three of those victories coming by more than 25 points. The streak came to an end last night with a 138-130 overtime loss against the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic, but the Pels have been playing great basketball and are firmly back in the play-in race. The Pels entered the All-Star break with a record of 23-36, good for 3rd in the Southwest division and 12th in the Western Conference. While CJ McCollum has been lights out since coming to New Orleans via trade, the Pels have gone 1-4 with CJ in the lineup. The Pelicans are winless since the arrival of CJ McCollum in New Orleans, but Saturday's 124-114 loss to the San Antonio Spurs showed exactly why the Pelicans traded for the former Portland Trailblazers sharpshooter.

After starting the season 1-12, the New Orleans Pelicans improved their record to 21-32 with a 120-107 win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday night, moving them into 10th place in the NBA's Western Conference and giving them possession of the final spot in the Play-In tournament for the playoffs.

The week started off with a tough loss to the Darius Garland-less Cleveland Cavaliers but the Pels rattled off three straight wins over the Pistons, Nuggets, and Rockets. Garrick and Raphael Rattler are back to break down the week's Pelicans action here on Pels Pod.

Been a rough week for the New Orleans Pelicans as they went 1-3 since our last episode. Raph & Garrick return to talk about the week that was for the Pelicans.

The New Orleans Pelicans have only played one game since our last episode, but it was a costly 102-91 win over the New York Knicks because Brandon Ingram missed part of it with a sprained ankle and will also miss tonight's game against the Pacers.

It feels like whenever this team might be ready to make a run, something happens to stop it. Raph & Garrick Rattler are back talking about B.I.'s latest injury, whether the Pels can overcome it, and whether they can still have a shot at the Play-In tournament.

It's been more of the same for the New Orleans Pelicans. Since the last episode the Pelicans won two straight over the Timberwolves and Clippers respectively, before getting dominated by the Nets, who lost Kevin Durant early in the contest, and the Celtics, who overcame an 18-point first half deficit to come back and beat the Pels.

Just about a week after the Pels put together a 4 game losing streak, the Pels have now lost three of four after a 105-101 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Can the Pels become more consistent or is this just life for this team without their best player? As 2021 came to a close, the New Orleans Pelicans once again found themselves at something of a crossroads. Their best player is once again injured, their second best player has had an injury plagued season and some of the young players who had been expected to step up hadn't. 

However things haven't been all bad. The team fought back from a dreadful start to at least pick themselves up off the mat and a few individual players, like Jonas Valanciunas, have had good seasons. The New Orleans Pelicans had another solid week on the court, going 2-1 for the week with wins over Portland and Orlando before finishing up with a loss to Oklahoma City. While the 117-112 loss to the Thunder was disappointing, what made it worse was Brandon Ingram leaving the game after the first quarter with what the team termed as "achilles soreness."

So even after the Pels got on a little roll recently and made themselves interested, injuries once again seem to hit this team at the worst possible time in the worst possible ways. Raphael & Garrick Rattler are back with another episode of Pels Pod. It's a quick turnaround from last Wednesday's episode but the Pels went streaking in the meantime, with back-to-back wins over the Thunder, via Devonte Graham miracle shot, and over the Bucks (without Giannis and Khris Middleton), via Devonte Graham 3-point barrage. After a 3-16 start, the Pelicans have won seven of their past 12 games and have shown steady improvement. Things have been looking up recently as the Pels have been more competitive and Willie Green has settled into some rotations he likes. However, the Pels don't seem any closer to getting Zion Williamson back, as the Pelicans announced that their best player is still feeling soreness in his surgically repaired foot.
