We are switching gears here with a different sport today, we have Shannon Dunlap sharing her story as a 44 year old woman who is learning how to skateboard.

She's progressed quickly within the year of skateboarding and it truly shows that no matter what age you are, you can truly do anything you want to if you put your mind into it.

And of course, be safe while learning too. 

Shannon completed my 12 week mentorship program called "The Season" and she learned so much from creating content, to sharing her voice online. 

I absolutely loved working with her and she truly is such a huge inspiration.

Today I am travelling back to Canada and it is a LONG journey back.

I am feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after 3 weeks here in Costa Rica and I'm excited to bring back the same mentality and slow down a little bit.

We are deeply saddened to share the loss of a true pioneer and beloved member of our community, Dorrie Miller. Dorrie was an avid snowmobile enthusiast who paved the way for women in the snowmobile community. Her passion for the outdoors and dedication to empowering women in powersports made her a trailblazer and an inspiration to us all.

Dorrie was a beautiful soul whose love for adventure and the backcountry knew no bounds. As a mother, wife, friend, mentor, and backcountry explorer, she touched so many hearts within our community and beyond. Her kindness, guidance, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed.

Dorrie, you have left an indelible mark on all of us, both on and off the mountain. Your legacy of strength, passion, and joy will continue to inspire us every day. Thank you for all that you have done for our community. We promise to live life as fully as you did and to carry forward your spirit in all our future adventures.

Rest in peace, dear Dorrie. You will always be remembered as a kind-hearted leader and legend in the snowmobiling world.

I've been following Kim since I first picked up my 2010 CRF 100 back in 2016 and I was so inspired by her and the Litas.

I was thrilled to catch up with Kim and learn a little more about her story.

As the Managing Director of The Litas, a dynamic global women's motorcycle community, Kim is at the helm of empowering women riders worldwide. With a passion for breaking barriers and fostering camaraderie among female bikers, she leads The Litas in creating a supportive and inclusive space for women to connect, ride, and thrive.

Additionally, Kim is the visionary Founder of the Women's Moto & Wellness Summit, an annual event held in the picturesque Squamish, where riders gather to celebrate their love for motorcycles while prioritizing holistic well-being. Through this summit, she champions the intersection of adventure, health, and community, inspiring women to embrace their inner strength both on and off the road.

Womens Moto Summit  also organizes Women's Dirt Biking Trips across the globe. These adventures not only provide adrenaline-pumping experiences for all levels, but also cultivate a sense of empowerment and solidarity among participants, proving that the thrill of off-road riding knows no bounds.

Let's break the stigma of having to load and unload on certain type of ramps when it comes to our sports.

I don't know about you but I feel pretty badass when I am able to load on my own when it comes to dirt biking and sledding. And I want you to feel that too.

So whatever the style of ramp or carrier you use, is the right one. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

And remember, if you are in your beginner phase, there is no shame in asking for help. Ask for help and practice until you feel confident in doing it on your own. Spend time practicing loading and unloading.

Welcome to Braap Babe's Throttle Talk Season 3 with our very first episode.
What you can expect here are more videos, more interviews with like-minded women, more dirt bike and snowmobile conversations and whole lot of branding tips, influencer and athlete influencer guidance and how to be your own vibe, and a hype woman!

Three years of podcasting and I decided to start fresh and post videos on Youtube rather than on my business channel and on Instagram.
There are lot of factors to why I am using one platform to post and one of them being simplicity.

My life is busy, and I know yours is too but I was burnt out from juggling too many accounts when all I ever really wanted was one. I started with my personal channel for all snowmobile and dirt bike content along with interviews, and I'm going to continue posting that here moving forward.

I have interviewed so many wonderful and bad ass women that are making strides, making waves and making impacts around the world and I am just so honoured to connect, have conversations and meet these women!

Thank you for all the love that I have received over the years through my platforms. I am almost at 10,000 downloads on my podcast which is WILD! Never did I think there would be so many of you listening in to my chats.

Triple B Rally located in Revelstoke BC - Hosted by Revy Riders Dirt Bike Club and Emily Roberts - this event is for the ladies. Even though it just happened the weekend of father’s day, June 16 to the 18th, I highly recommend to keep your eyes peeled for their next event. You can connect over on their Facebook page.

MudHunnies Moto Fest - a 3 day women’s dirt bike weekend skills clinics, Trail rides, yoga and more it is happening July 14th to July 16th. The event will take place at Whiskey Creek, Vancouver Island in BC and tickets are still on sale so make sure to purchase them today if you are able to go.

Bear Creek Ladies Ride - September 16th - happening at BEAR creek OHV in West Kelowna BC - not only will you meet a ton of new lady friends, but the trails here are fast, fun and flows with a lot of technical if you want to challenge yourself.

Another out of country experience is Nomadas Drift. They host untamed adventures in the desert with Moto rentals and riding tours. Their next available 5 day tour is October 19 - 24th of 2023

Dirt Tastic held their main event which happened in May 19 to the 21st of 2023 in Jacksonville Oregon so a lot of us missed this event HOWEVER Dirt Tastic holds a ton of summer camps, and out of country excursions on dirt bikes. I am going to leave a link to their website so that you can check them out and perhaps join in on one of their tropical destination dirt bike adventures. That’s my goal for one of these years! They have a Thailand dirt bike tour December 9 -16th of 2023 AND a Costa Rica Enduro tour January 20 - 26 2024.
